Great guy who gets bumped down a notch or two... or ten.
Fab girl - great mix of serious emotion, snark and sweet.
This was a fun love story, paired with a very cool paranormal/mystery element and even though I've been looking forward to reading it forever, and had built it way up, it was still THAT GOOD.
My daughter can't wait to get her hands on a "real" copy.(less)

my good friend, Steph Campbell said I HAD to read it, so I bought it months ago, and didn't get around to it until yesterday.
I read it yesterday.
There's a great twist that I SHOULD have seen coming, and I adored the MC. This is a book that USES the setting and the other characters to create the story and not just what's happening between the two main people.
This is a great love story, a great story about forgiveness and being on your own, and finding yourself, and...
just go read it. IMO totally lives up to the hype.

The authors' stories play really well off one another, and they all have a knack for hot guys and witty dialogue. I found myself getting completely sucked into each story in such a delightful way.
SO MUCH FUN!!
I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romantic comedy and some steamy goodness to go with them :D(less)

I'm honestly a little sad to not see the gawky tall Cricket on the cover, and the outfit and purple hair seem REALLY tame for Lola, but I get it - they're selling books and all that.
I LOVED how quirky and fun the characters were.
I understood all the actions, even when I wanted to scream at the characters.
And Cricket . . . swoon. What an amazing guy. It was SO refreshing to have the guy be the shy, sweet, innocent one in the mix.
Also - two dads who are both strict? Made of awesome.

Wendy Higgins is an author with some mad talent who wrote one of my favorite male characters EVER - and I have read some seriously swoon-worthy male characters.
I never knew what was going to happen next, which is rare, and I loved the ending. The twists and turns in the story felt natural, but still surprised me, and I was up 'til 1AM to finish.
So often the struggles of the main character in a paranormal book don't feel real and relatable to me, but this totally did.
A brilliant, brilliant debut for Wendy Higgins!! I can't wait to read her next!(less)

I love books that feel like a true glimpse into a part of someone's life. That's what this book did for me. The characters were fun. I have SUCH a clear picture of the eccentric, artist father, and the love he had for Cassia's mother. Cassia felt very real teen to me. She thought a lot of things she didn't say, and I love her journey through the book.
And Graham . . . a bit quiet, very introspective - hello, he's an artist. Swoon.
Worth the read for the end. LOVED.
I think people who rated this book any lower than 4 stars, were expecting it to be "older" (I always read the other reviews) and this is a true YA, which there isn't a lot of anymore. YA is not just the age of the characters.

It was a fabulous romance, with an incredibly fun little girl thrown in the mix and a very lovable Meg.

It felt realistic, and the writing was lovely, and I loved how it ended, and I'm sad about all the right things, and torn about how it turned out, and I'm ecstatic for the next.
I read through some of the negative reviews, and I just want to roll my eyes. People want reality, and then they want fantasy, and all I want is for the characters to behave in the way that is true to themselves. And they did.
Every time.
Lindon's actions made him WAY more sympathetic than he could have been. Gabriel is just, sigh . . . and Rhine? I loved her quiet way of winning her husband over, and her quiet way of dealing with everything. She pulled out the BIG gestures only when they were really needed.

I know the main problem most people have is that some of the original story doesn't fit in modern day. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about that. I half LOVED how close it was to the original. And half wished that the author had done just a couple teeny things to make it more modern.
It was a fabulous re-telling, a beautiful story, and yeah, turn the grouchy guy into a rockstar?? Awesome.

She did a brilliant job with tough subjects, a tortured but so freaking awesome MC in Quinn and a book-boy worthy of anyone's love.
Her character's were real, the language was beautiful and the story had EVERYTHING I look for in good fiction.
