Thoughts on the audiobook Have you ever read a book that you love so much that you had to HAVE it in every format that is out there? I have, there aren't many of them but the few I found I try have them in every format that is available. The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook is one of them. After reading the book on 2011, I fell in love with the story and it's characters immediately. And yes, I have all three formats, paperback, ebook and the audiobook.
I think I say enough times just how much I love this book. The series is another matter. But this book in particular is one of my personal favorite. Meljean is an awesome story teller, there are content in this book that is considered to be not suitable for everyone. Even so this book is worth every penny. I loved listening to The Iron Duke in Faye Adele's voice. Her narration of this time takes you to the world of The Iron Duke with Rhys and Mina. Around chapter 22 to 23 I needed to turn the fan up, if I thought reading about Rhys and Mina's love scene was hot of boy was I mistaken. Listening to Mina and Rhys, dear-god-my-ears-are-bright-red-and-i-don't-mind-dying-from-sheer-embarrassment.
Finally, recommended to anyone who reads steam-punk romance....more

My lack of reading time kept me away from the awesomeness that is Grave Mercy. For me I felt the book was a combination between adult and young-adult genre.
The book is set around the time of late 1400's when Anne of Brittany was straggling to get her duchy. My European history is not that good but I do remember a little bit about Anne of Brittany. The author put in a lot of historical information of that period. Sticking with the story line of Anne's struggle to get to her duchy. Some of the names of the Dukes were familiar.
The story in told in Ismae's point of view, with a very little about her past and the three years she spent in the convent learning the secrets of assassination she sets of with Lord Duval to find the traitor in Anne's court. Ismae had me hooked from the very beginning, and the most important part about her that I fell in love with was that she can take care of herself and others. Yes, no kidnapping or holding her for ransom if you want to have your throat slit or be poisoned by this lithe assassin.
Ismae and Duval's banter and the slow built up romance was just cherry on top with my chocolate sundae.
I can sit here and tell you how awesome this book is but it's better if you just go ahead and read the book. And be awesomified (is that a word!)...more

After so anticipated wait for Heart Of Steel to come out, I have to it was not disappointing.
What I loved most about this book is Meljean Brook's word building and characters. Iron Seas is known for it's strong female role and Heart Of Steel is no different. Yasmeen or Captain Corsair is met with a tragedy in the very beginning which makes her team up with a very unlikely Archimedes Fox.
Captain Corsair has made quite a name for herself with her tales. Her ship Lady Corsair is one of her greatest possession and something she deeply loves. However she doesn't let any man in on her heart.
As for Archimedes Fox, he is hell bent to falling in love with her even if she doesn't return the sentiment. Archimedes is an adventurer and all he wants from Yasmeen is to let him love her. At the beginning of the agreement everything seem easy enough to Archimedes until finally he realized how much it would hurt if Yasmeen breaks his heart.
Archimedes is not the alpha male we read about in stories, but he is capable of taking control. Just not when it comes to Yasmeen. His promise to let her be and he wouldn't undermine her stands till the very end. Even though Archimedes seems like an unlikely hero, he was in many ways as Captain Corsair says, "Perfect for each other."
Heart Of Steel was not heartbreaking like The Iron Duke, it had more humor in it. So the book ended with me smiling and not sobbing.
The cover still not a improvement in my opinion. The man candy was okay to look at but the cover just lacks the depth of the story.
Recommended to all who loves reading about Zombies, steampunk and romance....more

She had been bragging on and on about Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts, and how erotic it was. First I thought Pride and Prejudice and erotic this two thing in one sentence! Sumi, you have finally lost it. But now that I have read it I must agree this was indeed one the erotic reads ever and absolutely beautiful adaptation on Austin's world.
Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice is second my second favorite in Austin's book. But Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts tops them all and I will read it again and again. I think Ms Szereto has made Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts into one of my guilty pleasure.
Knowing most of the characters from the original books and all the P&P movies, I had a pretty good idea about the story line and the characters. I think Ms Szereto did a brilliant job staying true to the original storyline in spite of all the sexy action which I through fully enjoyed while reading.
When I was reading the book Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen keep popping up in my head every time Mr Darcy had his beseechers off!
Pride and Prejudice: Hidden Lusts is an wonderful creation by Mitzi Szereto. Recommended to readers who loves erotic novels. Not for the faint hearted. ...more
After finishing A Spy in the House, the first book of The Agency series I just couldn't wait to read The Body at the Tower as well. I loved t4.5 stars
After finishing A Spy in the House, the first book of The Agency series I just couldn't wait to read The Body at the Tower as well. I loved the book. The time during building the clock tower and all the rumors that grew with it helped placing this story in that period.
Mary is back to her Agency solving another mystery disguised as a boy. She comes close to blowing her cover when errand boys are beaten into pulp by the superior. But somehow she manages to slip away from that situation. In every verge it seems like people will find out she is not Mark Quinn but she comes to manage to uphold herself as a boy to most till the end of the book.
I was very happy to see another name returning to this book as well, James Easton. James is not in good health after returning from India but he tries to act tough. And Mary fails to disguise herself in front of the man. No matter what she does he seems to know it's her.
One of the scene that I loved is when James confronts Mary about being Mark and what happens afterword “I’m so sorry. I don’t think the etiquette manuals cover this sort of situation.” He leaned in close, his lips all but grazing her neck, and inhaled. “Mmm. You smell good, too.”
She nearly choked. Took a step backwards, until her back met cold stone. “Th-thank you.”
“That’s better. May I kiss you?” His finger dipped into her shirt collar, stroking the tender nape of her neck.
“I d-don’t th-think that’s a good idea.”
“Why not? We’re alone.” His hands were at her waist.
Her lungs felt tight and much too small. “Wh-what if somebody comes in?”
He considered for a moment. “Well, I suppose they’ll think I fancy grubby little boys.”
In this book Mary's feelings for James grows a little but he is still unaware of her reputation as a spy. Even though he have come to know some secret about Mary's past there are allot that's still uncovered.
Overall a good book. If you love reading young-adult, Victorian era this is a book worth checking out. ...more

As predicted and have seen in the other books, he is full of angst. His past life made me cry a little bit. Not the torture as much as the loss he suffered from. Sunshine is a nutcase. And I felt related to her, because seriously I don’t have a mouth brain filter either. Sunshines entire family is pretty much weird, but I totally love her. This story had some high revelation about the Dark Hunter world. Acheron’s past comes back into tiny bits, which left me wanting to know about him more. Artiemis is one interesting character. Her and Ash’s relation wasn’t so clear but Ash had feelings for her that I did came across which Artie smashed whenever he needed her. This book was full of revelation and angst. I loved the way Sherrilyn Kenyon writes her warriors and lemons. I loved it to bits. If you are a fan of the Dark Hunter series it’s worth checking out....more
