Since the change, she's had a lot to contend with, including dealing with her feelings about Jax. Deep inside, she wishes things could have remained the same between them, but she knows that will never be the case.
To make matters worse, she now has a slew of responsibilities on her shoulders. She must become the strong leader of her new cause, as well as balance her life at the academy. As if that's not enough, she also has to deal with her nemesis, who now seems to have become a part of her life at school.
Though she's promised to do everything she can to take Varian down, Scarlett knows doing so will be difficult. Most especially when she's good friends with his children. Still, if she can set all wrongs to right, she'll take the chance in finally helping her own kind and the Zeniths survive. The question is, will she be able to hold up to everyone's ideals when the time comes?
Another great addition to the Nightfall Chronicles, House of Ravens doesn't disappoint. We get further glimpses into Scarlett's chaotic life as she does her best to juggle both of her identities. Things aren't easy, but she makes do. It's nice to see to that she's trying to be strong in the face of such adversity.
There are a couple of tearjerker moments in the story itself, but overall, we get to see who and what Scarlett truly is. I can't wait see to see what Karpov Kinrade have in store for her next. Will she and Jax finally get their happily ever after once things are said and done, I wonder? Only time will tell....more

She lives for the thrill of discovering something new, always trying to make sense of the world around her. Because of her inquisitive nature, she makes note of everything she comes across. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. She remembers anything and everything.
When she inadvertently stumbles onto the unexpected murder of her supervisor's wife, Aimee soon realizes that nothing is what it seems to be. Deep inside, she knows she should leave well enough alone. That she shouldn't stick her nose in matters that don't belong to her. Sadly, it's something she won't be able to do. Her curiosity has been piqued and she can no longer ignore the situation at hand.
Aimee's inadvertent snooping soon has unexpected consequences. She's become someone's target whether she likes it or not. To make matters worse, quite a few have taken it upon themselves to protect her. Though she finds their attempts to do so endearing, she knows she can't let go of the 'case.' Things don't add up and she's determined in seeing things through. Somehow, she'll uncover the truth about what's gone on. It's the only way she'll be able to set all wrongs to right when the time comes.
A wonderful start to this series, Due For Discard will certainly pique your interest. The reader is drawn into Aimee Machado's chaotic life as she tries to juggle her new job, her family life, and her love life all in one. Sharon has beautifully crafted a believable world. The characters and their interactions flow quite nicely, and the action never stops.
Aimee is certainly endearing. She's got a lot on her plate and does her best to juggle everything to the best of her ability. Granted, she also has to make do with quite a few disappointments. All in all, she'll come out on top, though it's not without encountering a few mishaps along the way. Definitely looking forward to what comes for her, Harry, and Nick. Enjoyed the book immensely. This is one of those books that you won't want to put down....more

He introduced her to a world she had no knowledge of aside from the brief mentions in Rebecca's journals. For awhile, she thought she'd become entangled in that dark and dangerous world. That she'd never be able to make it out of it on her own. With Chris' help, however, she was able to see that world through different eyes, and lend him the helping hand he needed to turn his back on his dark and sordid past.
Though the path she and Chris have traveled hasn't been easy, Sara knows that they'll be able to weather whatever storm heads their way. Granted, the chaos that surrounds them sometimes makes that difficult, but she's willing to give things everything she's got. Chris is her entire world. Without him, she's nothing.
Determined to make things work between them, Sara gives Chris her entire heart. Though their future might seem a tad uncertain, she knows that they can make things work between them. He's her saving grace, just as she is his. There's no one else who completes her like he does.
A lovely addition to the Inside Out series, All Of Me immerses us in the rest of Chris and Sara's story. The two of them have gone through so much because of Rebecca's disappearance and subsequent death. Lisa has pulled everything together in such a way that the two of them finally get their happy ending. Granted, the chaos surrounding them isn't quite finished, but at least they've come together to find the happiness they've both been searching for. If you haven't read the Inside Out series, you're definitely going to want to. It's that good!...more

FaDetermined to make the best of the situation she now finds herself in, Tori promises herself that she'll do everything possible to come out on top. Faced with several tough decisions, she soon realizes that life has never been what she's wanted it to be. Though she's made progress in some aspects of her life, she's not quite content with the way things have gone. Deep inside, there's something missing, though she isn't quite sure as to what it is.
Though she's now a part of her brother's band, Tori knows that appearances are always deceiving. The band is just a front, a way for her deal with the backlash of what has yet to come. With every day that passes, she clamors for something better. Something that will pull her out of the fog that threatens to consume her by the second. Her inner demons are slowly clawing to the surface, determined in showing her exactly what she's missing.
As if that's not enough, those she'd left behind and in the past are slowly insinuating themselves into her life again. Tori's done her best to forget Brett and Enrique, and what they represent. She's tried everything to live a normal life, though now she knows that will never be possible. Sooner or later, she knows she'll need to confront everything she's done. Part of her knows it's going to be difficult. The question is, how much more will she be able to endure before she breaks completely?
Another startling addition to the New Life series, Intrepid dives into the heart of the ensuing controversy that surrounds Tori and those she's come across. She's lived a very tough life and no longer knows who she can or can't trust. Heck, she's not even sure if she can trust herself. Samantha did a great job in showing us more of Tori's vulnerabilities, as well as how much she can take. The girl is determined in making a better life for herself no matter what those she comes across dishes out to her.
It so sucks that a good many try to take advantage of her, though. I get that they want to make sure she does exactly as she's supposed to. The one thing that also bothers me is Tori's depravity in doing what needs to be done. She's suffered so much already. Does she really need to sink into the darkness like she does just to make sure she gets her point across? Overall, Intrepid does tie up quite a few loose ends, but it does open up a whole new can of worms. Still, Tori is a headstrong character and she eventually gets things done. I do hope that she gets her happy ending soon enough. ...more

She once basked in his love and tender affections, enjoying everything her role as his mistress required. In her mind and heart, the king gave her everything she could desire, every creature comfort known to man. Despite his unfortunate passing, she's determined in moving on. She has to if she's to preserve the little that remains of the love she bore for the king.
Her life takes a different turn when an unexpected summons brings Bethina back to court. Instructed to keep an eye over the princess, she vows to do all she can to make sure Meredith follows through with what she has to do. The awkward teen has no idea what she's in for. The girl is determined in living life in her own way, something she, nor court, will not allow. She must be protected at all cost.
With Arthur's help, Bethina does her best to guide the young princess. Though attempts on the princess's life are made, she knows that those trying to harm her will not succeed. Meredith will be given the chance she so deserves, even if she has to ensure it herself. The succession of the throne must continue, and the plots against it must be foiled. Somehow, some way, she will make the king's memory proud, and hold fast to all that now surrounds her.
A bittersweet, yet thrilling story, The King's Mistress immerses you in a world where plots and intrigue can determine the outcome of machinations set forth to claim the crown. We find ourselves smack-dab in the middle of a controversy that surrounds Bethina and the beautiful Meredith. Keeping the princess safe is difficult at best, but it's a promise Bethina will hold fast to.
I absolutely loved the story. Historicals are a favorite genre of mine, and this book certainly doesn't disappoint. S. D. did a wonderful job in creating a beautiful environment where love, deceit, and all sorts of intrigues collide. We catch glimpses of each character's vulnerabilities as they do their best to assert themselves. This is a story you're going to want to read time and again. I know I will. I definitely recommend it....more

She met a gorgeous guy who made her feel things she never knew were possible. Though, she never expected for things to go farther than just the one night between them.
As the saying goes, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Yet Kacie is learning that not everything stays there. Most especially when you can't remember what you've done the night before. To make matters worse, her new husband is determined in turning her world upside-down. Sebastian Donovan is certainly sexy, and he makes her want to things she never thought possible, but she knows that things can never truly be between them.
Their one night of passion has turned into something else. Something she's not sure she really wants. Surely, you can't base a relationship on one night of passion, right? It doesn't matter that the other person makes you feel so special and wonderful. Kacie knows that she and her husband need to fix their current situation. Yet she can't deny that she's curious about where things are going between them. Perhaps she can give it all a try, just like he's asked of her. A small taste won't hurt, right?
A lovely start to such a hot series, Hitched gives you a glimpse into the world Karpov Kinrade have created. The husband and wife writing team certainly do not disappoint with this story. They've set the stage for what appears to be a quite titillating array of stories. The Red Shoe Memoirs will capture your interest and take you for a ride that you won't want it to end. Diverse characters and situations will leave you wanting to have more and more of what's yet to come. Definitely worth a read or two or three. ;)...more

To make matters worse, her family is intent on keeping the feud with the Blackwoods going. Cassie knows that something must change if anyone is to be happy, yet she's not exactly sure as to what it is she must do. Her heart yearns for what could have been between her and Evan. Deep inside, she knows what she must do to fix things, though she's not quite sure if she wants to. Granted, Evan does everything is his power to try to make her see the light, but it's not enough to change things as they are.
As things continue to spiral in the wrong direction, Cassie soon realizes that there's more to the situation than meets the eye. Someone is out to sabotage her family's way of life, and she's not exactly sure as to why. Determined to put together the pieces of her past, she embarks on a quest that will change her life and that of those she loves. Will she and her family be able to weather the oncoming storm? Or will their way of life and magic be lost forever?
Another great addition to the Cassie Scot series, Christine does not disappoint! While this is the end of this portion of the series, I have a feeling that it's not the end of Cassie and Evan.
A delightful romp into all things paranormal, the author immerses us in a world where anything is possible. Magic, mayhem, and craziness ensues with every turn on the page. I think Christine did a wonderful job in tying up all the loose ends. I hope we get to see more of these beloved characters in the future!...more

Though their lives aren't perfect, Sarah has promised herself that she'll be there for Chris at every turn. Since Rebecca's disappearance, their lives have been torn asunder, but they're determined in making things work between them, nonetheless. Part of her knows that Rebecca is out there somewhere, though no one knows where she could be. Not even the hard-headed Mark Compton.
Refusing to sit on the sidelines, Sarah does her best to cope with the chaos she now calls life. She also has to contend with the unexpected attempts on her life. Though Chris has been there for her from the very beginning, she knows things are starting to take their toll on him. It's hard to make sense of things when you're not sure as to how things truly are. Nevertheless, she's going to make sure they come out on top no matter what else comes their way.
Another great addition to the Inside Out series, Lisa's words pull you in from the moment you begin reading. We get to see how Sarah and Chris are coping with all things Rebecca. We also get to see how things play out with the rest of the crew. It's hard not knowing as to how things truly are when it comes to Rebecca herself. I can't wait to see what happens next in this thrilling and quite titillating series. Thanks for such an awesome read!...more

Though they've had their ups and downs, they've been able to weather the storm, thus far. She's been able to deal with the unexpected events that took her best friend's life, immersing herself in school and extra curricular activities in the process. She's now at college, ready to partake of what life has to offer. The best part? Hunter is still in her life. It couldn't get any better than that, right?
When an unexpected series of events lands her and Hunter in hot water, they soon realize that things aren't going to be as easy as they thought they were. Hunter is still undercover, and she's now caught in the crossfire. As if that's not bad enough, they now have to deal with the very gang Hunter has been sent to investigate.
Determined to make the most of the situation, Cami promises herself that she'll do everything she can to keep herself and Hunter safe. Granted, that's easier said than done. They're both caught in a large web of deceit, hoping to make good on the task at hand. Though things have changed, they're willing to make things work between them in order to fulfill the obligations they've been saddled with. Unfortunately, there's one thing neither of them took into consideration from the get-go--their growing attraction for one another amidst such a volatile situation.
Another great addition to the Crush series, Smitten takes up where Crush left off, and throws us into the midst of Cami's new lease of life. She's ready to tackle college with Hunter by her side, eager to immerse herself in the love they now share. I love the way Lacey paints vivid pictures of each environment the characters find themselves in. The action flows continuously throughout the story, and there's never a dull moment. Everything that happens is certainly believable, and you can picture it all inside your head the farther along in the story you get. Definitely looking for what book three has on the table!...more

She has plans, and nothing is going to get in the way of them. Not even boys. Boys are a hassle she can do without. She's promised herself that she'll coast through high school, and do what needs doing at all cost. The male equation of the student body will never have a part in her plans. Until the moment she meets Hunter Wilder. It's then her entire life changes.
Hunter is everything she never knew she wanted in a guy. Snarky, kind, and considerate when needed. Granted, he's not exactly the type of guy others think she should date, but Cami doesn't care. There's something about Hunter that draws him to her, and she refuses to let go of the feelings he's begun to evoke in her. Despite her best friend's warnings about who and what Hunter is, there's no way she can stop thinking of Hunter. Nor will she let go of what he's slowly begun to mean to her.
Determined to make the most of the situation, Cami promises herself that she won't let things go too far. After all, Hunter seems to be quite mature in more ways than one, and he is also running with the wrong crowd. Still, that doesn't deter her from enjoying his company whenever he's around. Part of her knows she should leave well enough alone. That she should let Hunter go and continue with her studies, but that's harder to do than she could have ever imagined. Most especially when she finds herself falling for him against her better judgment.
Fast-paced and action-packed, Crush will take you for a thrilling ride as you dive into Cami and Hunter's tumultuous lives. Lacey injects such feeling and passion into her characters that it's hard not to like or hate them. Cami and Hunter's growing love is beautifully painted. Their hot and steamy scenes even more so. This is the start of volatile series that will leave you wanting to read more and more with every turn of the page. Absolutely enjoying the series thus far!...more

Nor has it been easy. Granted, she doesn't want it to be either, but she does wish that things could fall into place for her just once. She's had to make do with the simplicities of life, but she can't help yearn for something better on occasion. She's tired of her meaningless existence, always having to resort to unconventional methods just to make ends meet. Granted, she's good at whatever she puts her mind to, but just once she wants someone else to take care of her in ways she's never imagined.
When an unexpected request lands in her lap, Anjasa can't help but to wonder if it'll lead to something worthwhile. She knows things won't always work to her advantage, but she's willing to give things a shot, nonetheless. Determined to make good on what's been asked of her, she sets off on an adventure that will definitely make her question the world as she knows it. Nevertheless, she'll do her best to come out on top.
As things spiral out of control, Anjasa soon comes to the realization that nothing will ever be the way she always thought they were. There are things that go bump in the night, and things that were always considered to be legends are definitely true. Still, if she can manipulate the system, she knows she'll be able to gain ground in achieving her every goal. That thought alone drives her in making things possible for herself and those who seek her services. Services that may or may not prove to be her own undoing in the long run.
A titillating read, The Vixen Torn immerses us in a world full of fantasies, vampires, elves, and more. Anjasa is a nice departure from the usual characters most of us find in erotic romances. Granted, this is fantasy, but it's my first time reading the plights of an elf who enjoys a good time as well as getting her own in the process. This is the start of an erotically intriguing series. Onwards to book two!...more

He's been assigned as overlord for wayward souls, reigning supreme over them, the demons, and those who seek to work against Noliminan, Father of all Creation.
Determined to make the best of the situation, Lucias sets into motion a series of events that tip the fragile balance that exists between both realms. He isn't satisfied with the lot he's been dealt, and he'll do everything possible to make sure he comes out on top. Twisting both angels and demons around his finger, he knows he needs to be careful if he's to succeed in winning the war that exists between good and evil.
Part of him knows that Noliminan means well. He's created man and the world around him, after all, but Lucias refuses to bend to his will, much less be considered as an equal to the lowly pigs Noliminan has created. Deep inside, he knows there's a way to achieve his very goals. He just has to figure out what he needs to do.
When it becomes apparent that Ishitar is the key to what he believes is rightfully his, Lucias does his best to cause further discord amongst his own kind and those around him. A truly gripping start to what promises to be a very engrossing series, Fall From Grace will make you rethink what you think you know about good versus evil. Granted, Carrie has tweaked consistently the way we view and think about Heaven and Hell, lending the story unique twists that will keep you guessing until the very end. Truthfully, it's refreshing to see the story of angels versus demons pitted against one another in a light that's different from what we truly know. Each character will do anything to make sure balance is kept amongst the insanity of the worlds they live in. I look forward to what comes next for this series....more
