For one, p&p is one of my favorite books ever and reading this gave me a jarring feeling similar to watching a poorly adapted movie. There were times when i just... I dunno, didn't see the point? It was okay, a quick read, and i was interested to see some of the changes the authors made, but when all, is said and done.. Meh. There were some cute scenes, and some of the stuff was funny, especially when the regency-era dialogue was translated into more modern speech, but things like the ninjas and "waiting geisha" rather bothered me, even though i probably shouldn't have expected accuracy from a book like this. Finally finished and had to start Heartless immediately. Obviously I was glad everything worked out and hearing about Alexia's adventures was fun, even if it seems the rescues have become a little formulaic. But it's the details that make it a fun read.(less)
