Just like every other BDB book, Rhevenge’s was an emotional roller-coaster all over. I also end up surprised all the time. I’d get mad at certain stuff and then I’d end up alright with them by the end. It all ends quite peacefully. For example, (view spoiler)[ Wrath’s complete blindness and JM’s wish to move (hide spoiler)] made me incredibly mad. I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK! I hated the fact that it ended, but it is AWESOME as it is.
Some people complain that after a certain age they can't stomach the YA genre anymore. But this isn't a PNR YA -which counts for a lot-, this is the fantastically weaved fictional tale about some teenage boys (and girls) you could find on any high school. I don't think that for being referred as YA -'cuz it deals with teenagers it takes any of the crudeness of life and its essence out of it- that "adults" wouldn't get it. I am neither an adult or a young-adult (I can't place myself as neither) and I very much enjoyed it.
Though in a curious case, I loved one of the side characters more than the principal ones. I effin loved Tiny Cooper. I swear. I WOULD be friends with that guy. Or be friends with guys like him. And I do have a friend who reminds me a lot of Tiny. I should give him a call later lol.
Both Will Grayson's have qualities and aspects that draw us towards them. They are the mix of all the goodness and the angst we are as persons. I particularly felt much empathy through Will #2 'cuz of his depression fits. How strange he didn't realize how "fabulous" (in Tiny's terms) he is? But it's REAL, because we IRL feel the same way most times. And it's a miracle how we keep waking up and staying around no matter what.
Anyways, LOVED the book. It left such a sweet aftertaste. Oh, and I got to discover a new band! The Neutral Milk Hotel does actually rock!

Specially the indirect promise of new couples in the next books. So I was very excited and cheerful when I started this one. Well, it didn’t last long. Lachlain (our beau) is introduced to us as Emma’s (our half-Valkyrie/half-vamp belle) “mate”. An incredibly gorgeous immortal Scottish Lykae King. Sounds good, right? Try again. Lachlain starts thinking stuff like: “He’d waited a millennium for a helpless parasite.” Oh my, how flattering. NOT. So not the way to start the romance. He's scary and agressive and VAIN. And his urge to claim her against her wish and without care if he hurt her... I would've probably shit my pants at the sight of this monstrous beast signaling at me and pretending to claim me. Ha! I was constantly wishing for Emmaline to stop being so damn stupid and flee the hell out of the hotel and I felt like slapping her when she deliberately didn’t say tell the other Valkyries about him.
Some friends here told me you warm up to him after a while. I didn’t believe it at first. He was such an asshole. But, it does happen! He SLOWLY begins to act less and less like an ass and I ended up cheering and lusting for him and chastising Emma for not yielding to him once and for all LOL. And she damn well took her time to completely surrender *tsk tsk*
Perhaps it was thanks to lines like these that I started liking him: "Between her and Lachlain, she was the only one watching the scene—he’d never taken his gaze from her. But she had the impression that he was well aware of their antics. His eyes bored into hers as if saying, I’m looking at what I want."
Anyhow, I liked the book pretty much after I started liking him. I loved that Emma ends up a great character full of pride and glory of her own, not only as the “wifey”.
I’m surprised we learned Lucia and Garreth are mates and their book doesn’t show up until veeeery later. Yes, I peeked at the next books. Oh well, I hope the next ones keep being as interesting. ...more

I'm amazed by the fact that we got virtually NO new info on Barrons and the guy just keeps getting more sexy and mysteriously interesting LOL
Although Mac's perkier, pinky and sunshiny side is still there, it was less visible (and therefore easier to stand) than in the first book and I was very glad about that.
Don't have much more to say. The plot keeps getting better. I can't wait to read more!
FAVE QUOTES: (Kinda spoiler-ish, so BEWARE!)
Mac and V'lane: “Why have you chosen to spare me?” “I want us to be…what is your word? Friends.” “Psychotic rapists don’t have friends.” “I was unaware you were a psychotic rapist or I would not have offered.”
Mac and Barrons: "Barrons and I have a unique way of communicating. We have these little nonverbal conversations, where we say all those things we don’t say with our mouths with our eyes instead, and we understand each other perfectly. I didn’t say, You are such a stuffy asshole. And he didn’t say, If you ever burn one of my quarter-of-a-million dollar rugs again I’ll take it out of your hide, and I didn’t say, Oh, honey, wouldn’t you like to? And he didn’t say Grow up, Ms. Lane, I don’t take little girls to my bed, and I didn’t say I wouldn’t go there if it was the only safe place from the Lord Master in all of Dublin. “You might reconsider that one day.” His voice was low, fierce, on the verge of guttural." - LOVED every conversation like this, LOL!

For me it was pretty interesting and was a very easy lecture. Only downside is that "the mystery/secret" is revealed and we get no action regarding that. Bummer. Ending was also a little disappointing, not because it was bad, but because I wanted MORE! It felt incomplete (yeah, cuz it's a series, DUH!) but even books that are a series don't end that suddenly. Like I just finished this chapter and leave you with a doubt you'll probably see a little more developed on the next chapter. And bam! Bad news. Book has run out of pages. I repeat, bummer. But a great way to make you itch to get your hands on the next book =D
Concerning the characters: Maya and Daniel's relationship is awesome. Both lost a best friend and keep being best friends themselves basically without awkward moments =) Congrats on your hormone control guys! LOL. I admire that and at the same time kinda wish for a little turmoil (muahahaha). I wish they'd hook up or something. They'd be a cool couple =) Problem is, they'll probably find a way to screw the friendship on the process and that'd be so disappointing.
Also the dynamic between Maya and her parents is pretty enviable. I wish I could talk like that to both of my parents. Her parents are awesome.
Rafe, well, you can't resist Rafe. He's a good guy posing as a bad guy. You get the best of both worlds ;)

Book's pretty simple. I'll explain in short phrases: (view spoiler)[Cop doesn't like Actress in the Beginning. Actress does a good deed and he starts liking pretty Actress. Actress likes him a little too. He takes a few days off and decides to visit Actress and her Lil Bro. Even when they both have SERIOUS EMOTIONAL ISSUES they have sex. He runs away. She got pregnant and lost it 'cuz of an accident at work. He reads paper that says she didn't care about her pregnancy. He is hurt. Actress Mom's Boyfriend kidnaps Lil Bro for money. Cop refuses her call. She swaps herself for Lil Bro. Cop saves Actress. Actress goes to recover to Cop's house and obviously end up falling in love and having kids. HEA. YAY! (hide spoiler)]

Despite I hate the fact that they were separated for so long and Cat's "self control" in the beginning ('cuz I would've jumped his bones the instant I saw him again) I loved Bones coolness at first. It made him all the more intriguing. He never ceases to woo me LOL
And I can't help saying that it's hard to like Cat when she's so insolent and self-centered all the time. If her character was a little toned down I would probably love her as a whole!
Finally, this time, I totally LOVED the ending! This book totally redeemed the series over the mess the past one left =D

Prudence Elizabeth Perkins (Pru) is a young, rich woman living under the strong yoke of her grandmother. Her and Pru's father, who hasn't stood up to his mother in all his life, are forcing her to get engaged to a man she doesn't love just because her grandmother thinks she's old enough to be already married. Desiring to be able, for once, to make her own choices, she refuses and her grandmother determines she's not to have one penny of her family's money if she doesn't fulfill her grandmother's wishes.
Pru resolves to find a job and fight for her independence. So how does she finally abandon "Grandma's Royal Kingdom"? She finds in the classified ads an ad from Jack McCavett (a total hottie) looking for a helpful, pleasing WIFE to spend his days with. He promises food, shelter and money for a train if needed and that's what motivates her. She doesn't want to get married, but she thinks it's a wonderful opportunity. Food, shelter and a job? So off she goes.
To not spoil the story for y'all, I'll only say that all Hell starts breaking loose even before she puts her feet where Jack lives. Things are stolen, protests are made, people get murdered, she keeps getting in trouble and through it all, there's a wonderful love story in progress. Also lots of laughs and smoldering hot moments ;)

I couldn't agree more with that sharp review USA Today wrote. I loved this book. I felt very attached to it. The Hall family drama became my escape from reality 'cuz I got so wrapped up in their lives I almost felt part of them.
I liked the male characters for the most part. Weird, huh? Being a woman you'd think I'd be more "in synch" with the females, but no. As a woman, I know we are far more complex and difficult to understand than males and it's funny I very much preferred reading about a man losing his mind thinking he has cancer (George) than a woman (Jean) "falling in love again"... with her husband's friend.
Katie, the daughter, was also a rather difficult character to read about. Her temper was truly annoying. The woman would get mad and yell for no reason. I created a new shelf just for her "slap that b*tch". She truly deserves it LOL. But she gets a big thumbs up for being a great mother and for her slight improvements near the end of the book.
Jamie, the gay son, was kinda dull at first. He basically had the easier life. Although that changed drastically a little later, he was the one who showed the biggest improvement in the family. I felt rather proud of him for stepping up and showing he cared for his family and BF =)
The ending wasn't really an ending. And I liked that. We were reading about the lives of a family (perhaps fictional, perhaps not) and it wouldn't seem believable that it ended with "and they lived happily ever after". C'mon. We all know at this point that crisis will continue to happen. People will fight and forgive each other. Hate and love. Draw rubber plants and take too much codeine. LOL. I am almost sure George will continue to lose his mind slowly but "politely" =P. That's just what people do, what happens in a family and not many "outsiders" get to know. You could spend a lifetime with a person and never know what truly happens with their heads. George is the perfect example of that. And George could be anyone. Could be me, could be my dad, could be an uncle.
Finally, just gotta remark: great writing, very compelling and copacetic. Makes you reflect a lot. I highly recommend.
Fave Quote: Page 23: "And it occurred to George that if he could find the handle he might be able to open up the secret door and slide down that long chute all the way back to childhood and someone would take care of him and he would be safe." -- This hit me like a ton of bricks! I easily read 70 pages the first time I glanced at the book and the second time, I read all that was left. It was so hard to put down! And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fact that is a love story that starts with some sizzling attraction and some good ol' lust, no infatuation needed! YAY! 'Cuz that pisses me off so much. Characters don't have to like each other since the first moment they see each other! In fact, if they DON'T, it makes it so much more interesting and funny!
It's very interesting when a book whose main objective you can obviously guess since the beginning (i.e. tortured guy ends up with the love of his life) but has such a rich, complex story and little introductions to future characters that you're dying to know about too and how all their stories intertwine no matter the order of the books. I love that! I can't wait to know what's left in store to surprise me =D
Kyrian of Thrace I already knew I'd love since Julian's story. However, I didn't imagine how deep his character really is, how profoundly touching is his story and just how much he still had to go through and withstand to get his truly earned HEA. Amanda was just an awesome partner for him. Strong, sarcastic and witty, kickass when the situation demanded it, she was great.
FAVE SCENE (APART FROM SEX SCENES, DUH, LOL): Amanda felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise an instant before she heard the revving noise of a finely tuned engine in the distance. Cliff turned his head toward the street and gaped. She looked to see what had captured his attention and froze at the sight of a sleek black Lamborghini heading up the drive and stopping at the curb in front of them. A smile broke across her face. Surely not… Her heart pounded as the door lifted and Hunter got out Dressed in faded jeans, a gray and black V-neck sweater, and a black leather jacket, the man was drop-dead stunning. And that deadly swagger of his made her weak in the knees. "Oh baby," she heard Tammy whisper as he came around the car. Hunter stopped in front of Amanda and raked a hungry look over her body. "Hi, luscious," he said in that deep, evocative voice. "Sorry I'm late." Before Amanda knew what he was doing, he pulled her into his arms and gave her a sizzling hot kiss. Her body burned in response to his tongue tasting hers as he fisted his hands against her back. Then, he dipped down and picked her up in his arms. "Hunter!" she gasped as he carried her effortlessly toward the car. He gave her that devilish tight-lipped smile. His midnight eyes were warm and alive with humor and hunger. With the toe of his boot, he opened the passenger-side door and set her inside. He retrieved her briefcase and purse from the sidewalk where she had dropped them and handed them to her. Then, he turned and gave a knowing smile to Cliff. "You really have to love a woman who lives to see you naked." The look on Cliff's face was priceless as Hunter closed the door, then gracefully walked over to the driver's side of the Lamborghini. In one fluid movement, he got inside the car and they were headed out of the lot. - This was extracted from my dreams. Seriously! I've always dreamed of such a scene! SO AWESOME!! LOL! =D...more

Now, on with my review. And may I advise, there will be possible SPOILERS ahead so, watch out fellas!
-First topic to cover: Phury, my beloved wish-I-had-your-luscious-hair-or-you-as-my-hellren gorgeous man. I really couldn't think at first there was a person even more RUINED than Zsadist, but guess what, Phury is! Wow, they switched places completely, or should I say EVEN MORE! Phury was a neglected man all his life. As a child always invisible and living by the shadow of his lost twin; even when he had no support or clue whatsoever he still loved the brother he didn't know and that in some way (and obviously totally not his fault) made him had such a sad childhood and go out there to look for him, found him and put all his effort to try to save him from the abyss of abuse, anger and hate. He cared so much for him and all the others that he fell, almost irremediably in this pit of destruction that altered even his mental health (Ew, that Wizard was one creepy, obnoxious bastard!). Thank the Scribe Virgin everything ended so beautifully (the part where Z appears singing Phury's fav opera... OMFG, I cried and had the most heartwarming moment in the whole book. I am beyond happy for that chapter =D)
-Cormia: She was a fantastic character. I think she was a very strong female. Even though she was introduced to us as this impotent Chosen trying to escape from the fate she didn't wish and her look for individuality, she gains more and more force and confidence in herself throughout the whole book to the point where she can even make her point clear even to her almighty Primale LOL. I loved her! She was very smart for being raised as a submissive Chosen. BTW, I LMFAO when she tried chocolate for the first time! "Bag of magic" LOL Yeah, I still feel that way when I taste it too ;) XD
-JM: I keep loving him a little bit more everytime I read about him. All in all, I think he's doing a great job handling all the shit he's been through in his life. I would've ended insane LOL. Can't wait to read about him and Xhex =D
- Lash: What a mothereffing son of... THE OMEGA! I knew that punk had to be the seed of the Evil itself. HE HAD TO BE! When he confronted JM, Qhuinn and Blay about JM being raped I wanted him to get the ass-whipping of his life! I was wishing for a lesser to appear and kill him on sight. But thankfully, after JM tried and almost failed, Qhuinn stepped in but went a lil' too far (that's what I thought at first) and then thought "he should've died!". I know, it's mean, but he's an asshole and now's gonna make everyone's life impossible. Ugh. I hate him.
-Qhuinn and Blay: What can I say? I love those two. I've read enough spoilers to know they end up together so I'm looking forward to reading about it. They're adorable and so loyal!
- Random thought: I wanted to kill Phury and Fritz and the Chosen for all those times they interrupted my so-desired sex scenes. Argh. Such buzzkillers made me mad.
- Tohr: I was wondering whether or not he was coming back! He's alive! Oh no, he died on Chapter 25. Wait, what!? A fallen angel saves him... Are you kidding me? What's the deal with this Lassiter guy? I can't figure out what an angel is doing on this series and why exactly does he want to stay near the Brothers. WHY? Very intriguing indeed...
-Rehv: I can't quite understand the discrimination or the dangerousness of the Sympaths. "Manipulate emotions for energy transfer", I still can't grasp the OMG-it's-a-sympath-and-we-should-kill-him fear =S. Care to explain anyone? Anyways, Rehv is a good character. He's strong, sometimes a little mean, but pure of soul and caring towards the others around him. His little flashback with Bella when she was 7 was adorable. He truly adores his sister, no one can't deny that. And he'd do anything to keep his family safe, roger that! Although I wasn't very excited with the encounter with the Sympath Princess. That was kinda gross. He has a barb in his penis.. Eww. And the way the Princess is portrayed, eww again! I'm glad he ends up being the Leahdyre though ;)
-Quick note: I LOVE Wrath!!! OMG, how he handled himself in this book made me adore him even more!! I'm positive he's my fave Brother so far! I love them all, but Wrath, maaaan, who could top him? =3
FAVE QUOTES: *Qhuinn: "...his spirit landing in his skin like he’d been bootlicked in the ass with the Fade’s All-mighty Converse All Star." LOL!!
*Qhuinn to Blay: "You are still the same to me. Nothing has changed." Aww moment there!.
I think that's all I HAD to highlight LOL. So, now I'm probably gonna take a breath and read a quick book before starting the next installment of the series =) Thanks for reading guys! ...more

I did like it, specially the "youthful", easy way it was written. But our "heroine" MacKayla Lane or just Mac, was pretty annoying at times. She is extremely gifted, in danger and finds someone willing to help her SURVIVE and she keeps pouting like a 15yr old and being mad for being dragged out of her pink, unicorn and flower-filled bubble. She says it herself "I wasn't sure if I should be relieved or appalled by how shallow I was." She's frivolous and CHILDISH. Seeing people disappearing or being killed by the Dark Fae (Unseelie) and her with the power to actually do something against them and she's all "I don't care. I just wanna find my sister's killer, turn him to the police and go home to my mommy. Other people's problems NOT my problem. Not even if the whole world is in danger. I gotta buy a new pink nail polish!" Not even the ass-whooping she got from a vampire could end convincing her. She had to topple over a table, retch, (OH TRAGEDY!) ruin her nails and sense the source of all things evil to finally accept her job/task/destiny or however you wanna call it.
Now, if you can put that aside, the best reason to read this book is Jericho Barrons and the mystery he represents. He's presented as this tall, gorgeous, powerful male form, smartass-ish and bossy (which kinda reminds me of Eric Northman- YUM!)
He is one of the biggest puzzles to me. Who and what exactly is him? Which powers is he hiding? How is he so rich? What are his true intentions? What does he plan to do with the "Sinsar Dubh" when they get it? etc.
So, for him only, I am itching to know what the hell's gonna happen next and will get my hands on the next book immediately.
"I love books, by the way, way more than movies. Movies tell you what to think. A good book lets you choose a few thoughts for yourself. Movies show you the pink house. A good book tells you there's a pink house and lets you paint some of the finishing touches, maybe choose the roof style, park your own car out front. My imagination has always topped anything a movie could come up with. Case in point, those darned Harry Potter movies. That was so not what that part-Veela-chick, Fleur Delacour, looked like." - LOL! I've always felt like this too!
"I couldn't imagine Jericho Barrons as a child, going to school, face freshly scrubbed, hair neatly combed, lunch box in hand. He'd surely been spawned by some cataclysmic event of nature, not born."
"You always wonder how you'll handle a moment of crisis; if you've got what it takes to fight or if you've just been deluding yourself all along that somewhere deep inside you there's steel beneath the magnolia." - SO TRUE!
"The Fae was unutterably beautiful. And I wanted to fuck and fuck and fuck until I died." - LMAO! I could've died laughing at every V'lane apparition!...more
