Julian of Macedonia and Grace Alexander's story is packed with emotion! It is incredibly, tantalizingly HOT and funny to hear about his cursed existence. Specially since we know he HAS to get his HEA! Oh, I loved reading this book. Made me laugh, cry, growl ('cuz some scenes are just TOO hot to keep your calm), scream in frustration, gasp in shock and grin like an absolute dork. LOL! And I love my books just like that.
(Some) Fave quotes:
- "Because what he really wanted to do was see her writhing beneath him again, feel her slick body sliding down the length of his shaft as he made her scream out in ecstasy." Please, sign me up! ;)
-"The man was a walking pheromone."
-"Speaking of," Grace said as a thought struck her. "Can we curb the one that draws other women like a magnet?" Aphrodite gave her a droll stare. "Child, look at the man. What woman in her right mind wouldn't want him in her bed? I'd have to blind them all, or make him fat and bald." LMAO!(less)

While the story introduces us to all (I THINK) of the Lords, I gotta admit Maddox wasn't really my favorite. His story is very enjoyable, but some other Lords caught my eye better ;) Those were: Torin (Disease), Lucien (Death) and Gideon (Lies). Torin and Gideon are particularly funny and, well, HOT.
Oh, I dunno if it was only me but every single time Cameo (Misery) is mentioned I LMFAO. Everyone just wants to die or kill her whenever she opens her mouth. I thought that was hilarious.
Back to the main characters, Maddox and Ashlyn are a cute couple. At the beginning Ashlyn was kinda getting on my nerves at her reluctance to tell Maddox about her "curse". She was PERFECTLY comfortable daydreaming about them f*cking and wanting to touch him all the time but she won't agree to tell him the reason why she trespassed his property in the first place? Girl, please, read a little about COMMON SENSE before someone kills you *wink*
I also didn't know exactly how to feel about their instant attraction and the fact that when they touch they receive some kind of electrical jolt XD. WTF? Is that supposed to mean they are "attracted" to each other? That bit I thought it was a little exaggerated and I could've done without. But anyways, she evolves pretty nicely and tames that beautiful demon and have some finger-licking awesome x-rated scenes hehehe!
Anya: I'm dying to know more about her. Her brief apparition has left me wondering a lot about her and her powers and who she ends up with ('cuz I'm guessing she stays around, right!? *hopes so*)
[FAVORITE QUOTES] - I'm Disease, not Stupid. LMAO! (Torin) - Until you, my life was desolate,he’d said.I existed, but I didn’t truly live. Now I live, even in my death. (Maddox)
So, I dunno what else to say... I really enjoyed the book, I'm thirsty for more and do recommend!=)(less)

The book is divided in 4 parts.
Part 1: Mainly introduces us to Evangeline and her "normal" life as a young nun. Then a mystery starts unraveling and she begins discovering secrets about a couple of nuns thanks to a young artist (Verlaine) making the part of an investigator of a filthily rich man (Percival Grigori III) with "dark" purposes ('cuz he's a nephilim). This part is very interesting and makes you want to know what the hell is the mystery.
Part 2: Madame Celestine's flashback of her Angelology raising days come and it becomes boring and repetitive for the most part. Yes, we do get A LOT of info about angels, nephilim and their background but the way it's told I could've just opened Wikipedia and learn about it. The info is not presented in an attractive way for the reader. Everything gets dumped at once and I felt truly overwhelmed at the amount of "angel info" I had to read and there's not much of a story, just a few going to class or to research here or there and Celestine's envy, curiosity and self-pity over Gabriella.
Part 3: Thankfully, things get pretty exciting here. A "race" is on. Angelologists? vs Nephilim; Good vs Evil, yadda yadda. I really enjoyed this part. But (view spoiler)[Verlaine's and Evangeline's instant infatuation annoyed me. What is it about some writers!? We (readers) mostly LIKE romance, but quit it with the "Instant Love" recipe 'cuz it kills the feeling!! People that have only met FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS cannot be IN LOVE! They can be attracted, yes! Hell yes! But instantly in love and wanting to spend their lives together and throw their old lives away for the other at the same day (or the next)?? It just doesn't work for me. (hide spoiler)]
Part 4: Things got waaay out of control here. There was an exciting twist, I admit that. I kinda liked it. But the ending was SOOOOOO majorly disappointing it made me wish I hadn't bought the book at all. The cover and the People Magazine review tempted me. It said something like "Vampires? You will not be able to read about them after you've read this!" My answer:F*CK YOU PEOPLE MAGAZINE. You obviously haven't read some AWESOME Vamp books. The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Night Huntress and even Sookie Stackhouse could wipe their butts with Angelology.
No offense Ms. Trussoni, it was a wonderful concept but not so well crafted. I really wanted to like it, LOVE IT, but it just didn't deliver. Props on the cover though! 3.5/5["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>(less)

- I LOVE, LOVE BONES! I can't say anything that I didn't love about him. I'd move to the cave and eat rats for him XD He's truly the perfect vamp ;)
- Cat, on the other hand, was a bit annoying at times. She's a moody, insecure, narrow-minded, jealous, borderline-homicidal bitch! (And I was quoting from the book there LOL) Oh gawd, and her "territorial behavior": HILARIOUS! (I LMFAO on this part!)
- It's almost amusing how naïve she is! You'd think that being half-vamp, her "danger sensor" would be better but in reality, it's way off.
- But, oh gosh, her reticence at expressing her feelings annoyed me! I liked her so much better when she was later trained by my lovely Bones. Though the way she expressed herself was hilarious for the most part, so bonus points for that. But I think I should subtract them from her 'cuz she left Bones. That's a NO-NO sweetie. Biggest mistake EVER!
- BTW: Bones' blazing passion... GODDAMN! I won't ever get tired of saying how blistering hot he is ;) I'll never be able to hear the British accent again and not think about Bones pronouncing the words "LUV" or "KITTEN". OMG! ♥!!
- Timmy was an adorable scaredy guy but goofy and reliable =) I liked him the brief time he appeared. He was a good friend to Cat after all.
- Cat's Mom: HORRIBLE. Annoying, disgusting excuse of a mother. Ugh.
- Random Question: How come Cat's glowing green eyes aren't almost never mentioned when she's mad? That trait should've appeared in many situations and is just ignored for more convenient situations.
* Please reeeead! I exhort you all LOL!
- "Want to fuck?"... Way smooth Cat XD
- “Is that a stake, Bones, or are you just happy with my new dress?” LMAO!

Great way to start a series. Loved the "Axis of Evil" (the three brothers) very much. But I did find Eidolon and Tayla's relationship a little weird. I understand that they got the hots for each other but DUDE (and I mean Eidolon), remember she's your enemy, LOL! In my opinion, he tolerated too much crap from her LOL. And then she'd just run to his arms and fall in love. Just like real life!! (sarcasm) LOL.
Anyhow, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be starting next one on the series ASAP.(less)

This is another book I’ve been avoiding since it got out. I finally picked it up. And though I’m probably not as disappointed as much readers, I wasn’t thrilled with it either. Sookie was probably as stupid as we’ve ever read her. I felt I was reading a book in the beginning of the series. It was like she had forgotten all about vampire behavior and killing.
Allow me to explain in detail what I mean.
Excerpt #1: Sookie-Eric conversing. “How’d you feel when you heard that story?” I asked. “I . . . didn’t want that to happen to you,” he said. He gave me a puzzled face. “What are you looking for, Sookie? What answer shall I give?” Though I knew it was futile—knew I was barking up the wrong tree—I was looking for moral repugnance. I was looking for “I would never be so cruel to a woman and her son.” At the same time I was wanting a thousand-year-old vampire to be upset about the death of a human woman he hadn’t known—a death he couldn’t have prevented.
– So Sookie, haven't you realized that is HUMAN behavior? Not a vamp's and deff not Eric's. He has improved a hell of a lot these days, but he isn't the "sensitive" type for anyone else but you. Set your mind straight. You can't ask him for anything more than he's already giving you!
Excerpt #2: Sookie gets surprised by Alcide on her bed. Alcide slid out of bed and held out a hand for his clothes. I got up and handed them to him, keeping my eyes raised to his. He did have on underwear, kind of a monokini.
– No man, absolutely NO man, no matter his body, looks good in a mankini. IMHO. Mrs. Harris, I love Alcide but EPIC UNDERWEAR FAIL.
Excerpt #3: After killing Victor and his crew. That had been a lot of killing, and it had been so fast and bloody—like watching one of those violence-porn movies. I’d seen a few seconds of one of the Saw movies when I was at Jason’s house. That had been enough for me.
– Does she have amnesia? Hasn’t she been in the middle of blood and killing since book one? And she still acts like if killing is so deplorable when vamps do it, but NOT when she has done it herself, because remember, it was self-defense. She’s a Christian woman after all. *facepalm*
So by the end we’re left with a Fae relic only Mrs. Harris knows when she’ll use it, 2 dead thugs sent to abduct her by only-Mrs. Harris-knows-who, no Eric happy ending and who knows if there’ll ever be (and I’m seriously pissed off about it), no clue what she’ll do with Bill and Sam, her fairy kin plotting something probably involving her, a heartbroken and depressed Pam, an angry Alcide, an even more traumatized Bubba...
Not exactly WOW material. End the series already and gimme closure U_U Books are getting less and less interesting. (less)

I did like it, specially the "youthful", easy way it was written. But our "heroine" MacKayla Lane or just Mac, was pretty annoying at times. She is extremely gifted, in danger and finds someone willing to help her SURVIVE and she keeps pouting like a 15yr old and being mad for being dragged out of her pink, unicorn and flower-filled bubble. She says it herself "I wasn't sure if I should be relieved or appalled by how shallow I was." She's frivolous and CHILDISH. Seeing people disappearing or being killed by the Dark Fae (Unseelie) and her with the power to actually do something against them and she's all "I don't care. I just wanna find my sister's killer, turn him to the police and go home to my mommy. Other people's problems NOT my problem. Not even if the whole world is in danger. I gotta buy a new pink nail polish!" Not even the ass-whooping she got from a vampire could end convincing her. She had to topple over a table, retch, (OH TRAGEDY!) ruin her nails and sense the source of all things evil to finally accept her job/task/destiny or however you wanna call it.
Now, if you can put that aside, the best reason to read this book is Jericho Barrons and the mystery he represents. He's presented as this tall, gorgeous, powerful male form, smartass-ish and bossy (which kinda reminds me of Eric Northman- YUM!)
He is one of the biggest puzzles to me. Who and what exactly is him? Which powers is he hiding? How is he so rich? What are his true intentions? What does he plan to do with the "Sinsar Dubh" when they get it? etc.
So, for him only, I am itching to know what the hell's gonna happen next and will get my hands on the next book immediately.
"I love books, by the way, way more than movies. Movies tell you what to think. A good book lets you choose a few thoughts for yourself. Movies show you the pink house. A good book tells you there's a pink house and lets you paint some of the finishing touches, maybe choose the roof style, park your own car out front. My imagination has always topped anything a movie could come up with. Case in point, those darned Harry Potter movies. That was so not what that part-Veela-chick, Fleur Delacour, looked like." - LOL! I've always felt like this too!
"I couldn't imagine Jericho Barrons as a child, going to school, face freshly scrubbed, hair neatly combed, lunch box in hand. He'd surely been spawned by some cataclysmic event of nature, not born."
"You always wonder how you'll handle a moment of crisis; if you've got what it takes to fight or if you've just been deluding yourself all along that somewhere deep inside you there's steel beneath the magnolia." - SO TRUE!
"The Fae was unutterably beautiful. And I wanted to fuck and fuck and fuck until I died." - LMAO! I could've died laughing at every V'lane apparition!(less)

I easily read 70 pages the first time I glanced at the book and the second time, I read all that was left. It was so hard to put down! And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fact that is a love story that starts with some sizzling attraction and some good ol' lust, no infatuation needed! YAY! 'Cuz that pisses me off so much. Characters don't have to like each other since the first moment they see each other! In fact, if they DON'T, it makes it so much more interesting and funny!
It's very interesting when a book whose main objective you can obviously guess since the beginning (i.e. tortured guy ends up with the love of his life) but has such a rich, complex story and little introductions to future characters that you're dying to know about too and how all their stories intertwine no matter the order of the books. I love that! I can't wait to know what's left in store to surprise me =D
Kyrian of Thrace I already knew I'd love since Julian's story. However, I didn't imagine how deep his character really is, how profoundly touching is his story and just how much he still had to go through and withstand to get his truly earned HEA. Amanda was just an awesome partner for him. Strong, sarcastic and witty, kickass when the situation demanded it, she was great.
FAVE SCENE (APART FROM SEX SCENES, DUH, LOL): Amanda felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise an instant before she heard the revving noise of a finely tuned engine in the distance. Cliff turned his head toward the street and gaped. She looked to see what had captured his attention and froze at the sight of a sleek black Lamborghini heading up the drive and stopping at the curb in front of them. A smile broke across her face. Surely not… Her heart pounded as the door lifted and Hunter got out Dressed in faded jeans, a gray and black V-neck sweater, and a black leather jacket, the man was drop-dead stunning. And that deadly swagger of his made her weak in the knees. "Oh baby," she heard Tammy whisper as he came around the car. Hunter stopped in front of Amanda and raked a hungry look over her body. "Hi, luscious," he said in that deep, evocative voice. "Sorry I'm late." Before Amanda knew what he was doing, he pulled her into his arms and gave her a sizzling hot kiss. Her body burned in response to his tongue tasting hers as he fisted his hands against her back. Then, he dipped down and picked her up in his arms. "Hunter!" she gasped as he carried her effortlessly toward the car. He gave her that devilish tight-lipped smile. His midnight eyes were warm and alive with humor and hunger. With the toe of his boot, he opened the passenger-side door and set her inside. He retrieved her briefcase and purse from the sidewalk where she had dropped them and handed them to her. Then, he turned and gave a knowing smile to Cliff. "You really have to love a woman who lives to see you naked." The look on Cliff's face was priceless as Hunter closed the door, then gracefully walked over to the driver's side of the Lamborghini. In one fluid movement, he got inside the car and they were headed out of the lot. - This was extracted from my dreams. Seriously! I've always dreamed of such a scene! SO AWESOME!! LOL! =D(less)

Who wouldn't want that gorgeous, powerful, loving and incredibly well endowed vamp warrior? I would certainly not refuse. And him calling me Bride and wife *swoon* Excuse me while I smile stupidly for hours... LOL
I also liked Myst's rebelliousness and entertained my mind at the thought of picturing her as something like a redheaded Felicity (from Capcom's Darkstalkers) or a Madelyne Pryor from Marvel... only basing myself on the looks, ok?
So, great start. Now I'm off to read "A Hunger Like No Other". Makes me certainly hungry ;) lol

“Wroth! Don’t do this!” “Five years of hell,” he sneered, palming her ass roughly. “You deserve to be fucked till you can’t walk.”(less)

With him came back the hilarious moments, the scorching hot scenes, the action-filled plot... everything of worth!
Despite I hate the fact that they were separated for so long and Cat's "self control" in the beginning ('cuz I would've jumped his bones the instant I saw him again) I loved Bones coolness at first. It made him all the more intriguing. He never ceases to woo me LOL
And I can't help saying that it's hard to like Cat when she's so insolent and self-centered all the time. If her character was a little toned down I would probably love her as a whole!
Finally, this time, I totally LOVED the ending! This book totally redeemed the series over the mess the past one left =D

For me it was pretty interesting and was a very easy lecture. Only downside is that "the mystery/secret" is revealed and we get no action regarding that. Bummer. Ending was also a little disappointing, not because it was bad, but because I wanted MORE! It felt incomplete (yeah, cuz it's a series, DUH!) but even books that are a series don't end that suddenly. Like I just finished this chapter and leave you with a doubt you'll probably see a little more developed on the next chapter. And bam! Bad news. Book has run out of pages. I repeat, bummer. But a great way to make you itch to get your hands on the next book =D
Concerning the characters: Maya and Daniel's relationship is awesome. Both lost a best friend and keep being best friends themselves basically without awkward moments =) Congrats on your hormone control guys! LOL. I admire that and at the same time kinda wish for a little turmoil (muahahaha). I wish they'd hook up or something. They'd be a cool couple =) Problem is, they'll probably find a way to screw the friendship on the process and that'd be so disappointing.
Also the dynamic between Maya and her parents is pretty enviable. I wish I could talk like that to both of my parents. Her parents are awesome.
Rafe, well, you can't resist Rafe. He's a good guy posing as a bad guy. You get the best of both worlds ;)

1st half was boring and annoying. For me, at least. Lucien and Anya's back-and-forth was really getting on my nerves. "I desire her, but get away! Oh, she has left? Where could she be? Come back again, please! She's back. I gotta keep my distance!" C'mon Lucien! Make up your mind already, damn it!
Also at first, Anya seemed vain, whiny and really childish. With time, she proved to be pretty kickass, and I liked the fact that she wouldn't let anyone boss her around.
Luckily, after the halfway mark, things got lighter, funnier and more exciting. It was pretty quick and easy to read. Loved how their relationship started building up from that point and the ending! Love HEA's! =D
So, now I'm eager to know WTF is happening with Aeron, Reyes and Danika =D And I also hope for MORE Lords tidbits!
SOME FAVE QUOTES

And I'm only that fast-pacey with books that are really gripping and page-turners for excellence =)
I'm amazed by the fact that we got virtually NO new info on Barrons and the guy just keeps getting more sexy and mysteriously interesting LOL
Although Mac's perkier, pinky and sunshiny side is still there, it was less visible (and therefore easier to stand) than in the first book and I was very glad about that.
Don't have much more to say. The plot keeps getting better. I can't wait to read more!
FAVE QUOTES: (Kinda spoiler-ish, so BEWARE!)
Mac and V'lane: “Why have you chosen to spare me?” “I want us to be…what is your word? Friends.” “Psychotic rapists don’t have friends.” “I was unaware you were a psychotic rapist or I would not have offered.”
Mac and Barrons: "Barrons and I have a unique way of communicating. We have these little nonverbal conversations, where we say all those things we don’t say with our mouths with our eyes instead, and we understand each other perfectly. I didn’t say, You are such a stuffy asshole. And he didn’t say, If you ever burn one of my quarter-of-a-million dollar rugs again I’ll take it out of your hide, and I didn’t say, Oh, honey, wouldn’t you like to? And he didn’t say Grow up, Ms. Lane, I don’t take little girls to my bed, and I didn’t say I wouldn’t go there if it was the only safe place from the Lord Master in all of Dublin. “You might reconsider that one day.” His voice was low, fierce, on the verge of guttural." - LOVED every conversation like this, LOL!
"He could have branded me between the cheeks of my petunia for all I cared, if it’d get me out of here!" - HA!(less)

Specially the indirect promise of new couples in the next books. So I was very excited and cheerful when I started this one. Well, it didn’t last long. Lachlain (our beau) is introduced to us as Emma’s (our half-Valkyrie/half-vamp belle) “mate”. An incredibly gorgeous immortal Scottish Lykae King. Sounds good, right? Try again. Lachlain starts thinking stuff like: “He’d waited a millennium for a helpless parasite.” Oh my, how flattering. NOT. So not the way to start the romance. He's scary and agressive and VAIN. And his urge to claim her against her wish and without care if he hurt her... I would've probably shit my pants at the sight of this monstrous beast signaling at me and pretending to claim me. Ha! I was constantly wishing for Emmaline to stop being so damn stupid and flee the hell out of the hotel and I felt like slapping her when she deliberately didn’t say tell the other Valkyries about him.
Some friends here told me you warm up to him after a while. I didn’t believe it at first. He was such an asshole. But, it does happen! He SLOWLY begins to act less and less like an ass and I ended up cheering and lusting for him and chastising Emma for not yielding to him once and for all LOL. And she damn well took her time to completely surrender *tsk tsk*
Perhaps it was thanks to lines like these that I started liking him: "Between her and Lachlain, she was the only one watching the scene—he’d never taken his gaze from her. But she had the impression that he was well aware of their antics. His eyes bored into hers as if saying, I’m looking at what I want."
Anyhow, I liked the book pretty much after I started liking him. I loved that Emma ends up a great character full of pride and glory of her own, not only as the “wifey”.
I’m surprised we learned Lucia and Garreth are mates and their book doesn’t show up until veeeery later. Yes, I peeked at the next books. Oh well, I hope the next ones keep being as interesting. (less)

Just like every other BDB book, Rhevenge’s was an emotional roller-coaster all over. I also end up surprised all the time.
