Por lo mismo, tenía la certeza que su incursión en las novelas juveniles sería igual de genial. Puedo decir que no me ha defraudado y que esta trilogía va que vuela para convertirse en una de mis favoritas.
Jacinda, nuestra protagonista, es un personaje fresco, inteligente y muy decidida. Cuando le toca sufrir el alejamiento de su comunidad, yo sufrí con ella. Su mamá y su hermana -sobre todo ésta última- eran verdaderamente odiosas, más de una vez quise darle unos buenos golpes a Tamara, por ser tan injusta. Creo que Jacinda es un personaje entrañable precisamente por su lealtad a su familia, pese a lo que ellos le hacen pasar.
El romance entre Jacinda y Will fue fantástico. Es de esos romances dulces, inolvidables, que te mantienen suspirando todo el tiempo. Will es un chico adorable que hace que te enamores de él desde el primer momento que aparece en escena. Tiene un corazón enorme.
Lo mejor es la acción, la intriga, el suspenso que se sostiene durante todo el libro. Me encantó entrar a un mundo donde los dragones son los protagonistas, un soplo de aire fresco, sin duda. Y qué mejor que acompañado de personajes adorables, con voces que suenan muy acordes a sus edades, que nos alejan de los típicos personajes que ya conocemos -ver reseña de Instinto-, y una narración detallada que te permite estar ahí mismo.
Firelight es un enorme acierto de V&R Editoras y me queda agradecerles que conservarán la hermosa portada original. Chica de Fuego es un must-read!(less)

El libro es en pasta dura, con una sobre cubierta increíble, el borde de las páginas en negro, en fin… que me ha encantado esto.
Esta es una novela juvenil a la que le traía muchas ganas y gracias al autor, que muy amablemente me obsequió un ejemplar, la pude leer.
La historia habla de un chico, Christian, que es precisamente quien narra la novela. Él, después de haber perdido a dos personas a las que ama y en situaciones diferentes, pero que tienen un denominador común, entra en un estado depresivo. Poco después conoce a unos chicos, que le hacen una simple pregunta ¿Has dormido alguna vez en un cementerio? Y a partir de ahí, comienzan una serie de sucesos que hacen de esta novela, una buena historia.
Sí, dije buena.
La trama está bien tejida, no perfecta, pero bien. Tiene un ritmo ligero y la escritura es muy buena, pero… y esto es algo que me sucede por primera vez en un libro del autor, creo que los personajes no estuvieron bien aprovechados.
Si bien ésta es la primera de una serie (la segunda se publica en Mayo/2011), y por ello, considero que hay un poco de amarre en cuanto a los personajes, sí me habría gustado ver un poco más de desarrollo en ellos. Los sentí un tanto acartonados.
Christian (de quien no sabemos su nombre sino hasta unos capítulos después, lo cual me gustó mucho), es el que está evidentemente más trabajado, pues es quien cuenta la historia. Sin embargo, Alexia, que es la chica de quien él se enamora, estuvo en el olvido mucho tiempo, era demasiado misteriosa, pero hasta el punto en que me irritaba no saber de ella. Amm… aquí omitiré algo por no lanzar spoilers, pero dios! Lo tengo en la punta de la lengua.
Alba, la otra chica que está interesada en Chris, que no pertenece a los pálidos, me gustó más. Mucho más. A veces, me daban ganas de pegarle a él por ser taaaan terco y suspirar por Alexia, teniendo a Alba.
De los otros dos pálidos ni se diga, pues no sabemos mucho de ellos.
El misterio fue bueno. Pero también, hasta cierto punto, predecible y eso me cansó un poco, además, lo verdaderamente emocionante de la novela no sucede sino hasta poco después de la mitad del libro, sin embargo, los capítulos son muy cortos y eso hace que se lea muy fácil y rápido.
El final, como era de esperarse, es muy abierto y me dejó con un cierto deseo de leer la siguiente novela, sólo para saber si los personajes evolucionarán más. Espero que sí, por que la historia es buena y original, es un respiro de aire fresco entre todas las novelas que he leído últimamente.
Qué decir, a mi mamá le encantó. Aunque también consideró que Alexia no era para él.
A mi amiga Paty le gustó también, pero ella no quería ni a Alexia ni a Alba para Christian.
En fin, que como dije y a riesgo de repetirme, la novela me gustó, pero sentí que hubieron huecos que definitivamente espero sean llenados en la siguiente entrega de la serie.(less)

The first thing that struck me was the writing of the author, the story caught me beyond belief, I would not even put the book down at all. Lil lives alone with her grandfather, are gypsies, and she has seen some strange things with him, but is not prepared for the intrusion of a pretty boy, arrogant and stubborn directly to her mind and oh yeah, her heart ... Her life changed completely since that first meeting, things are revealed in a way that encourages you to go ahead, doubt in your mind flow of "now what?" "What's this?" but the author is leading you by the hand and shows you everything you need to know.
The action, adventure and romance (cute but slight) appearance in this book. But best of all are the turns that gives the story as we go, we see the characters grow and can not help but be excited with them. Lil has to go through a lot and it is very beautiful to see the loyalty and love she puts into her decisions.
A struggle between good and evil, between angels and demons that keep you in suspense and constant surprises. Awakened is a work of YA urban fantasy like few, original, fresh, charming and totally intoxicating, I want more in this series.(less)

I had many problems with the novel. If there's something that I really liked is the author's writing, her prose is impeccable, the pace is fast, the sexual tension is great and when the time comes ... uff! How hot and how beautifully described it.
Now the problem is that it offers nothing new. In terms of vampires is more of the same and I think there isn't a background that sustains itself Michael. Who BTW, can leave home on cloudy days.
As the novel progressed I expected some action but didn't arrive and when this came, lost in my hands, totally. Everything happens in a week, so they are seen, blablabla and they're in love. Michael is a character tormented, lonely, romantic novelist, embittered by the way he became a vampire and his life was ruined. Nicole is running from her life with a past that haunts her and not let her get ahead. But both suffer a catharsis in the days that they meet. I didn't understand, is that in such a short time they had told all his/her life, open they heart to complete strangers and were in love in few days.
I finished reading Nocturne and I thought I had received a damaged ARC, with missed pages, but no. The end don't like. Is too abrupt, incomprehensible and heartbreaking. I didn't understand Michael, do things for love, true, but somehow I didn't quite fit everything I had. Maybe one more chapter to explain what happens next, would have been better. But even so, I'm not sure.
Nocturne I think could be better. But the novel remains in the middle, it felt like any other paranormal romance novel, only that it gave a rough cut to give a different twist and forbidden, but I'm afraid that didn't work. Me at least, didn't.
If you'll read, I recommend some tissues at her side. A lot of understanding, little hope of deep characters, and times that you have nothing better to do. Although as with everything, every head is different. You decide.

Hay un poco e inconstancia en el ritmo y el romance es un poco melosón, pero he dejado de quejarme de eso porque es obvio que la mayoría de los libros juveniles etiquetan a los adolescentes de absolutamente hormonados :D El final, me ha dejado colgada y estoy a la espera de esa segunda parte. Shadow Bound me gustó mucho, pero no pueden imaginar todo lo que he disfrutado Shadow Fall, y la hermosa historia de Custo.
De nueva cuenta nos vemos arrastrados a un mundo donde los espectros, sirenas, hadas, cambiaformas, ángeles y demás seres nos tienen preparados muchas sorpresas. De nuevo, el amor no es el centro de la historia, pero el romance entre Custo y Annabella era una delicia de leer, me gustó la química entre ellos, saltaba a la vista y la disfruté mucho más que la de los protagonistas del primer libro, creo que se debía a que Bella tenía mucha más personalidad. El final me lo esperaba, debido a que leí Shadow Touch, el relato que va después de ésta y antes de Shadowman; hay una escena ahí que me reveló sin querer el final de Shadow Fall, *suspiro*, y con todo, no puedo darle menos de 5 estrellas a este libro porque lo disfruté de principio a fin.
Yo quiero más cuentos oscuros de Erin Kellison, porque su escritura me cautiva desde las primeras letras y me mantiene al borde hasta que estoy desesperada por saltarme unas hojas y conocer el final. Una excelente lectura si gustan de leer fantasía oscura con un poco de romance y suspense.

Shadow Bound liked me, but can not imagine how much I enjoyed Shadow Fall, and the beautiful story of Custo.
Once again we are drawn into a world where ghosts, mermaids, fairies, shapeshifters, angels and other beings, have prepared many surprises. Again, love is not the center of the story but the romance between Custo and Annabella was a delight to read, I liked the chemistry between them was obvious and I enjoyed it much more than the protagonists of the first book I think that was because Bella had a lot more personality. The ending I expected, because I read Shadow Touch, the story goes after this and before Shadowman, there is a scene there that I accidentally found the end of Shadow Fall, * sigh *, and yet I can not give less than 5 stars to this book because I enjoyed it from start to finish. I want more dark tales of Erin Kellison, because her writing captivates me from the first letters and keeps me on the edge until I'm desperate to skip a few pages and see the end. An excellent read if you like to read dark fantasy with a bit of romance and suspense.(less)

He disfrutado mucho Shadow Bound. Desde la primera página, Erin Kellinson me metió de lleno en el mundo de las hadas, demonios, ángeles y fantasmas. Una historia compleja con una prosa sencilla pero cautivadora que sin duda enamorará a los fans del romance paranormal.
Me encantó que el amor no fue el punto fuerte de la historia y que aún así, no perdió protagonismo en ningún momento. El romance no surgió de la nada, al contrario, a los dos les llevó mucho tiempo darse cuenta que debían estar juntos. La química entre ellos era increíble, y a lo largo de todo el libro uno mismo se encuentra siendo parte de sus sentimientos divididos entre el deber y el amor.
La serie Shadow sin duda es prometedora. He leído ya Shadow Bound y la novela corta a liberarse en junio, Shadow Touch y me han encantado. Estoy por comenzar Shadow Fall que promete ser igual de buena. Recomendado.

I enjoyed Shadow Bound. From the first page, Erin Kellinson I dove into the world of fairies, demons, angels and ghosts. A complex story with a simple but engaging prose that will undoubtedly fall in love to the fans of paranormal romance.
I loved that the love was not the strong point of the story and still not lost at any time prominence. The romance did not come out of nowhere, on the contrary, they both long to realize that they must be together. Chemistry between them was incredible, and throughout the book, one self is still part of their feelings divided between duty and love.
The Shadow series is certainly promising. I have read Shadow Bound and the novella to be released in June, Shadow Touch and I was delighted. I'm about to start Shadow Fall, promises to be just as good. Recommended.(less)

Creo que Marcus y Havily son personajes mucho más carismáticos, yo ya los quería desde que leí sobre ellos en Ascension. Me encantó la lucha con sus miedos, su manera de enfrentarlos, la fuerza de su carácter. Marcus fue un personaje más fuerte y decidido a proteger a su mujer, incluso ante Endelle, cosa que Kerrick no hizo cuando le tocó a Alison. Por eso, amé mucho más a este guerrero.
Endelle es un personaje disfrutable. Tener tantos años y responsabilidades sobre sus hombros la ha hecho dura, irónica, exasperante, una perra total y aún así, leerla es disfrutarla, entenderla y saber qué tiene toda la maldita razón para comportarse como lo hace.
Me encanta que Caris Roane nos de romance del bueno, que los personajes logren destacar por sobre todo lo demás y con todo, no perder de vista la guerra, los problemas con un comité corrupto y los demás personajes que, cada uno, a su manera, se ganan tu simpatía.
Sufrí con Luken, de principio a fin y espero de todo corazón que encuentre una breh que lo ame, aunque seguramente le dará un infierno de vida antes de eso. Esa es otra cosa fantástica, cuando el breh-hedden los atrapa es tan distinto para cada uno de ellos. Hay ciertos detalles parecidos, pero cada uno de los guerreros que han sido presas de este emparejamiento destinado, ha destacado de alguna manera. Y ni qué decir de mi querido Medichi, me reí como nunca con su despliegue de macho.
En suma, es una serie que ha llegado para quedarse en mi corazón. Después de amar a la HDN, los DH, la Raza; ya era necesario otros guerreros haciéndose un muy merecido lugar entre el romance paranormal.
REVIEW- I loved this book. I think Marcus and Havily are much more charismatic characters, and I loved them since I read about them in Ascension. I loved the fight with their fears, their way of confronting them, the strength of their character. Marcus was a strong character and determined to protect his breh, even of Endell, which Kerrick didn't when it came to Alison. So I loved this warrior.
Endell is a character enjoyable. Having so many years and responsibilities on her shoulders has made tough, ironic, infuriating, a total bitch and still I enjoy reading it, understand it and know what is the whole damn reason to behave as she does.
I love that Caris Roane bring us really good romance, the characters succeed emphasize above all else and yet not lose sight of the war, the problems with a corrupt committee and the other characters, each in its way, they win your sympathy.
I suffered with Luken, from start to finish and I sincerely hope he finds a woman who loves him, but surely she will give a hell of a life before that. That's another great thing, when the "Breh-Hedden" get catch them is so different for each one. There are certain details like, but each of the warriors who have fallen prey to this match for, highlighted in some way. And not to mention my dear Medichi, I laughed like never before with its display of macho.
In summary, a series that has come to stay in my heart. After loving the BDB (J. R. Ward), the DH (Sherrilyn Kennyon), Breed (Lara Adrian), was right and necessary other "sexy warriors" in the paranormal romance. A must-read. (less)

Parisa y Anthony descubren que están destinados a ser pareja en "Burning Skies" de una manera bastante divertida, que me tuvo riendo y ansiando leer su historia lo más pronto posible.
Yo realmente creí -desde que Parisa tenía toda la pinta de ser una chica fuerte y decidida-, que su libro sería fantástico, inolvidable, por así decirlo. Pero no lo fue. El constante estira y afloja de Parisa y Anthony me tenía intrigada y enojada, todo al mismo tiempo. Sentí -diríamos que un poco con justa razón-, que el comportamiento de Parisa era todo molesto, se me hizo muy terca, demasiado cerrada y su modo de ser "totalmente independiente" la metió en más de un problema. Creo que hay un límite para lo que uno puede o no hacer y cuándo hacerlo. Ella sólo se iba directo a los problemas por ser como era. No me malinterpreten, realmente disfruté la historia detrás de la pareja principal. Endelle sigue siendo un personaje divertidísimo, los Warriors son los típicos machos sexys con miles de problemas que te conmueven y sé sin duda alguna que los demás libros serán lecturas obligadas para mí. Ahora, solo espero que las parejas conserven el encanto, al menos la historia de Jean-Pierre tiene todo para ganarse mi corazón.
Antony y Parisa pudieron haber sido más encantadores, si sólo ella se comportara como una mujer madura y no como una adolescente a lo largo del libro. Claro que, de otro modo, ella no podría haberse metido en problemas y desde luego, este libro no tendría todo el sentido que tiene. Aún así, ella termina siendo esos personajes a los que no puedes evitar tener deseos de darle unas sacudidas para que reaccionen. Havily y Marcus, con mucho siguen siendo mis personajes favoritos.
Una serie adictiva que te cautivará y te dejará rogando por más, una vez que tengas la fortuna de conocer a Endelle. Te lo aseguro.
REVIEW- Antony and Parisa discover that they are meant to be couple in "Burning Skies" in a rather funny way, I was laughing and looking forward to reading their story as soon as possible.
I really thought, since Parisa had all the earmarks of being a strong and determined girl-that her book would be fantastic, unforgettable, so to speak. But it was not. The constant push and pull of Parisa and Antony, had me puzzled and angry all at the same time. I felt a little say -rightly- that the behavior of Parisa was all upset, she seemed very stubborn, too closed-minded and way of being "totally independent" put it in more of a problem. I think there is a limit to what can or can not do and when. She just went straight to the problems the way it was. Do not get me wrong, I really enjoyed the story behind the couple. Endell still a fun character, the Warriors are the typical male sexy with thousands of problems that move you and I know without a doubt that the other books are required reading for me. Now, I just hope that couples retain the charm, at least Jean-Pierre's story has everything to win my heart.
Antony and Paris could have been more charming, if only she behaved like a mature woman and not as a teenager throughout the book. Of course, otherwise it could not have gotten into trouble and of course, this book would have not all the sense it makes. Still, she ends up being those characters that you can not help but have a desire to give a shock to react. Marcus and Havily are by far my favorite characters.
An addictive series that will captivate you and leave you begging for more, once you have the fortune to meet Endell. I assure you.(less)
