This book was just all kinds of cute! So much nerd love!
How to Date a Nerd tells the story of Zoe, a girl who was so cruelly bullied in middle school for being a nerd that she reinvented herself when she started high school, burying her nerdiness away and becoming Popular Zoe, who, for lack of a better word, was a bit of a bitch. I was worried I wasn't gonna like her but I actually found myself really connecting with her and really liking her. Even though she has turned into someone not nice, and I wanted to slap her upside the head a couple times, I completely understood why she did it. Many of us have at one point or another hidden our real selves, fearing being laughed at and humiliated. I felt so bad for Zoe for what she went through. I really wish kids weren't such assholes and just let others be. Because seriously? Geek Zoe is fricking awesome! Her inner monologue was hilarious! I could so see myself being BFFs with her. I just wanted to jump into my kindle, hug her and tell her that being a geek is nothing to be ashamed of. I found myself tearing up a few times when she was at a low point. But then what she did at the end of the book? Hell yeah! You go girl! I loved it! A brilliant ending. Now on to Zak. Oh my god can I have one? Like seriously he is just adorable! Him and Zoe are made for each other. They are so cute and geeky together, I just love it. He could be so awkward at times but I just loved him even more. The book is very well written, the writing flows smoothly and it is so easy to read. I would have finished it in one sitting if that pesky little thing called life didn't get in the way.
Cassie Mae is quickly becoming my go to author for when I need something light and fun to read. While humorous, adorable, and packed full of nerdy awesomeness, this book is also a touching tale, with a great message to be yourself, no matter what other people think. A must read! I really can't wait for book 2, How To Seduce a Band Geek. Looking forward to more of Levi :) (less)

It's official. I love this woman's books. I fell in love with her writing in American Girl on Saturn, and my love just grew after reading Chasing Forever Down.
I really don't know where to start in telling you how awesome this book is. It had everything I want in a book. It was character driven, with an adorable romance and a great message.
I seriously loved all the characters in this book. I loved that Haley followed her heart and went after her dream. She was a great character with a great heart. I really connected with her. And I loved all the new friends she made. Reed, the sweety, oh and AJ. He was crazy and adorable. I heart him so much. Oh and Vin. Yum! Oh oh oh and the Hooligans! Gah I loved them all! I loved how close knit the surf community is and how loyal they are to each other. And that brings me on to the surfing part of the book. I've decided that I want to run away to California and find my own surfer. I want to live in Crescent Cove and work in Drenaline Surf. Or work with Haley in her frame shop. Being surrounded by hot surfers all day is the dream ya know ;) But seriously I loved the book's message of going after what you want and following your heart. It has made me want to chase down my forever.
I truly adore Nikki's writing. She describes things so beautifully, they just leap off the page. And I love how each book has a sort of symbol you can associate to them. For AGoS it was bleeding butterflies, and here it was paper stars. The story was jam-packed, there was never a dull moment. I sailed through it in no time because I just could not put it down.
So yeah, I adored this book. It made my heat happy :) A definite must read! I cannot wait for book #2. Gimme gimme gimme!! (less)

I read Switched after Tia gushed about the authors books. So my expectations were a bit high. And I am so happy to say that Switched lived up to my expectations :)
This book was all kinds of cute and packed full of goofiness. I loved the authors sense of humor. She managed to turn serious situations in to funny ones. I especially loved Kayla and Wesley's banter. Those two were hilarious and so adorable when they were together. I really related with Kayla too. I thought she was a great character, even if she did frustrate one or two times. And Wesley? He was adorable! So different from the usual bad boy found in most NA books. He was just all kinds of funny and sweet and he plays guitar! Just perfect.
The story-line is fast paced and keeps you hooked. I read it in one sitting, I just couldn't get enough. I found myself smiling and laughing out loud throughout most of it. It didn't frustrate me as much as I thought it would. And I loved the twist at the end. Brilliant! Overall this book was jam-packed with cuteness, silliness and will just warm your heart. This is the first book by Cassie Mae that I have read and it definitely won't be the last :)

One minute I love him, the next he disgusts me. Ahhh! Ford Aston you are going to be the death of me! Why must you play with my heart so much?!
This book provided a great insight into the enigma that is Ford and we get a glimpse into some behind the scenes activity that we have only speculated to until now. This man is just all kinds of strange and fucked up. He has so many sides to him and I think when we get to see the sweet, lonely and tortured side of him my heart just breaks. This is the man I fell in love with. But then he brings out the weird kinky shit with the "pets" and he kind of creeps me out. But then of course we get the epilogue from Panic again and...ugh! Huss why are you doing this to me? I don't think my heart can take much more. I just know TAUT is gonna be one hell of a ride on my emotions. I'll need to mentally prepare myself before starting it. If that will even be possible :P (less)

The blurb and cover immediately grabbed my attention, and the fact that JLA loved it just sold me on it. And I'm glad to say that I enjoyed this book immensely.
Salt is the story of Penelope and her quest to get her magic back from the demon that killed her parents. I really enjoyed Penelope as a protagonist. She's very witty and has great determination. And I loved Carter. He was adorable. There is a lot of mystery behind him but he wasn't the typical moody bad boy type. Sure he was arrogant and overly confident but he still had really sweet moments. His and Pen's interactions were so fun and they had great chemistry. They were so snarky towards each other and I love that type of humor. One thing that did sort of bug me and so added to the reduced star rating is that I felt it was a little bit insta-love. Not overly in your face insta-love, but I still felt like the "I love yous" were a bit premature. I would have liked it to have been left until the second book but I still liked them together.
The story is full of action, with plenty of fight scenes to keep you entertained. Even though Pen has no magic she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Although saying that, I did find myself wanting to shake some sense into her a couple times. She didn't really think some things through and you would think that she would be more prepared. I mean who leaves the house without salt when you know it's the one thing that will protect you? Come on girl, use your head. Along with all the action, there is plenty of mystery to keep you second guessing as to what is really going on. There were a few surprises and I really liked that. I love when a book has the ability to surprise me.
Overall this was an action packed adventure, filled with wonderful humor, a sweet romance, and numerous twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. The author has created a magical and creative world and I look forward to continuing on the adventure in book 2.

This book was just all kinds of cute. I loved every second of it. After reading her sister's book, American Girl on Saturn, and seeing that the band mentioned in that was featured in this book, I just had to read it. And like AGOS I adored this book! It had everything I had hoped and more.
This book centers around Becca and her friends and how one night at a concert will change their lives forever. We've all been there. Fantasizing about what it would be like to meet our favourite band, what it would be like to be friends with them, or even go out with one of its members. I can see myself acting so much like Becca. Trying to act cool on the outside but be completely dying on the inside. I loved this girl and how totally awesome she was. And I loved her crazy friend Carli too. Now even though I don't think Mutilated Arteries would be my sort of band or that I would be that attracted to the guys I still found myself really liking them. They all have great and unique personalities that shine through in their wacky outfits and crazy names. We have Nightmare, Banshee, Ink, Corpse and Sketch. They always go by their stage names which adds some mystery to them. Why does no one know their real names? Why are they always sleeping so much? And what's with Corpse's obsession with zombies and Banshee's obsession with blood? There is something different about this band and the girls are gonna be in for a big surprise when they find out what it is. I loved the paranormal element of the story. Even though the book was great as a contemporary, I think this made the book even better. I loved the twist and can't wait to find out more about it. The romance in the book is super sweet. I really loved Sketch and Corpse. Sketch was just adorable and Corpse is hilarious, if not a bit mad :P
Overall I simply loved this book. It is beautifully written and completely captivating. It was a heartwarming contemporary, but then add in the paranormal element and you've got yourself a terrific read. The Godwin sisters are fantastic writers and I loved the crossover between their books. I highly recommend this book to everyone and I can't wait for the next installment to learn more about this insane band. (less)

OK. It's official now. I love Ford. He won me over in this book and now I really and truly love him, weirdness and all. Huss has outdone herself with this book. I loved it so much more than the Rook & Ronin books. I didn't know how I would feel while reading it as I didn't really like Ford in SLACK, but dear god my heart just melted all over the floor while reading TAUT. His voice was so strong and powerful, you could feel every emotion he felt. Huss did an excellent job writing the male POV. Sometimes female authors don't pull off the male POV but Huss hit the nail on the head when it came to writing Ford.
Although the relationship Ford creates with Ashleigh could be classed as insta-love it didn't bother me. Normally I hate insta-love stories but for some reason this didn't scream insta-love so I didn't mind it. I think it's because Huss created two great characters, with such great chemistry, that it felt like they knew each other for years. I loved how Ashleigh stood up to Ford and was able to handle all his shit. She was such a strong character even though she is struggling with something horrible that happened to her. When it is revealed what it is she is dealing with I couldn't believe how the poor girl was still standing. My heart utterly broke for her. And it made me realize that these two broken people really are perfect for each other.
This book created so many feels it was hard to sort through them all. But what I ultimately ended up with was happiness. Happiness that these two people found their HEA. A powerful, emotional, steamy and breathtaking read. My favourite book of the series by a mile. But Spencer might change my mind on that when I get his book ;)(less)

Ms Phoenix can't seem to do wrong. With every book of hers I read I just become more and more in awe of her brilliance. This book was just full of awesome and had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through.
I think this is the first horror book I have read and I have to say it was quite freaky. All the things that were happening gave me the creeps. I was half tempted to sleep with the lights on after reading it. I got through it fairly quickly as I was glued from the very first page. I could not put it down. I needed to know what was gonna happen next. There was a lot of mystery and suspense to be had and of course a sizzling hot romance.
I always love Airicka's characters and it was no exception this time. Ana is a very likable and strong character. She goes through so much, questioning her sanity and fighting for her life. She never gives up and is just so brave. I loved watching how she handled things. There are one or two times when I feel she missed something so obvious but I forgave her as she was dealing with a lot. Now Rafe. Whoa mamma does Airicka know how to write smoking hot boys. This guy was totally swoon-worthy. The right amount of smart-ass and sweetheart you will immediately fall for this bad boy. My heart broke for Rafe though and what was going on in his home life. I wanted to wrap him up in my arms and never let him go. I loved his and Ana's relationship. I loved how they were both there for each other no matter what. The book is told in dual POV and I loved getting inside Rafe's head.
Another thing that I really liked about this book was the relationship Ana had with her parents. In a lot of YA books the parents are either absent or not existent or are horrible. But Ana's parents were awesome. They were so loving and protective. I especially loved her Dad. He was adorable and so funny. I loved their interactions.
The story line is very fast-paced and there is never a dull moment. I just loved it. So beautifully written, the scenes will come to life before your eyes. It will scare the bejeesus out of you as well as leave you swooning over the intense romance. Another winner from a fantastic author. (less)

OK this is gonna be short and sweet because if I go on for too long I'm just gonna be gushing and rambling and you won't be able to keep up with me :P
As I stated in my review of Finding Kia, I absolutely love Kia and Adam. And I just loved them even more in this one. These two are just perfect for each other. And guess what?! We get Adam's POV!! Yay!!! I had never been so happy. This guy makes me swoon so hard! As for Kia? Seriously, everyone needs a friend like her. Completely loyal, amazingly trustworthy and totally kick-ass. She is one heroine to look up to.
Now, the main thing I want to talk about is Nessie. My god this poor girl! For most of the book I wanted to throttle her. Her treatment of Adam and Kia and her parents was horrible! But when I found out what she was going through? My heart broke for her. Airicka deals with a tough issue in this book. Bullying is something that a lot of people have gone through, myself included, and I want to applaud Airicka for how she tackles the issue. I teared up when I read of her own bullying history. There is a fantastic message in Revealing Kia and one I hope many will listen to. There were times when I was being bullied that I felt so alone and depressed. But I knew that I had genuine friends and that I shouldn't push them away. I found myself relating to Nessie. Even though I was never bullied to such an extreme, I still knew how she felt. I became so frustrated with her, screaming at her to not push everyone away, that she would get through this. By the end of the book I was there crying along with her, wanting to wrap her up and make the pain go away.
This is a beautifully written, heartbreaking read. I highly recommend this to those of us who have ever felt unloved or unwanted. Thank you Airicka for another phenomenal read. [PS: I would love a story about Kenny and Nessie. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge... ;)]

This book was so utterly cute and fun, I just devoured it in one sitting. I have been in an odd reading mood the last few weeks. I just haven't felt like reading anything, even when my precious Origin by JLA arrived. But seeing as I was on the blog tour for this book I knew I had to read it. I was worried that my weird mood would cloud my judgment but I am so glad to say that American Girl On Saturn was just what I needed. It pulled me out of my funk and I loved every second of it.
The book is told from eighteen year old Chloe's POV, who is the oldest of three sisters. The middle child, Aralie, is seventeen, while the youngest sister, the absolutely adorable Emery, is five going on six. Each girl has their own personality and I loved all three of them in their own way. Chloe is the quiet, mature one but she had a great sarcastic wit about her. I loved her inner monologue. It was hilarious some of the stuff she came up with. Aralie is the wild, loud-mouth one. She says what she wants, doesn't seem to have a filter, but I still loved her. I loved the bickering between her and one of the lads. And Emery, oh my god, is the cutest little terror ever! I have always wanted a sister but I think if I had Emery I would go slightly insane :P She is so cute and everything but you would want to have some amount of energy and patience to put up with her. I pitied the lads so much, especially the main guy of the band Benji. She was glued to him for the entire lockdown. Poor guy.
Now about Spaceships Around Saturn. I LOVED these guys! Seriously, I would love for them to be on lockdown in my house for the summer. I thought I would have a hard time keeping track of who was who but they were all so easy to remember because they were all so different. I think Noah and Milo were my favourites. Swoon! But I did love them all. I couldn't get enough of all the bromance, and romance, and hilarity and, and....yeah. Just...everything!
Even though the guys were shot at during a concert and that's why they had to go into hiding, the book is anything but gloomy. It was sweet, fun, romantic, hilarious. The author's writing style is so beautiful and so descriptive. It will make you laugh as well as make you cry (yes I did shed a tear or two). It's the perfect read for a lazy summer day lying in the sun. If you need a pick me then this book is a definite must! The author has a real winner here.
(There were a few grammatical errors and misplaced words and such but I received and ARC copy so this may be rectified in the final edition)(less)

I loved every single thing about this book but I especially loved Kia. Without a doubt my favourite character of Airicka's. She has such a great sarcastic wit. Nearly everything she said had me laughing out loud. Right from the first page I was highlighting sentences that I loved. But bless her soul she is such a klutz I think that just made me love her more though. Can I be friends with her? Pretty please? I related with her so much. I know how it feels to feel like you don't fit in or that the guy you like won't like you for you. I empathized with her and I got why she felt like she had to change her appearance. What surprised me though was how she dealt with certain situations. I wasn't expecting her to be so spunky. I doubly loved this about her. At one point I almost shouted out loud "You go girl!". The love interest, Adam, I also loved. Swoon personified right there. He was such a great character. Him and Kia just fit. They are perfect for each other.
I have two complaints however. It was waaaay too short!! I never wanted it to end!! I was so sucked in I finished it in no time. I tried so hard to savor it and make it last as long as possible but I couldn't. I just had to know what was gonna happen next and before I knew it I was finished :( My other complaint? The ending! Airicka how could you end it like that?! That's just cruel! If I bribe you with cookies will you give me the next book? ;)
Overall this is a fantastic book with a great message. It's about learning to love the real you, to be brave, and to take a shot at life. You never know what's waiting around the corner. I am eagerly awaiting book 2!(less)

This was one roller-coaster of a book. So much happens in such a short space of time. My emotions couldn't handle it all. Many many secrets come out in Panic, loyalties are questioned and Rook must decide once and for all if she can finally let the past go and stop running.
I went through so many emotions during this. Frustration, love, anger, hate. My feelings for the characters kept switching back and forth. Ronin I love. I really do. But the dude needs to cool it with all the marriage and baby stuff. You're 22 dude! You've got plenty of time to settle down. I love how Rook told him she wasn't ready, that she wanted to go to college and everything first. We learn new things about Rooks past and my god I really don't know how that girl is still standing. The things she went through is just horrible. I felt sick at the thought of what was done to her. She has grown so much from the girl we saw in the first book. I love her and Ronin together but they were a bit too mushy mushy for me in this one. Some of the things they said, especially Ronin, were very soppy and that's saying something seeing as I'm a romantic and all. Saying that though I am sad that there story has come to an end.
We don't see as much of Spencer in this as I would have liked but we do see a lot of Ford. I swear I really do not know how I feel about him. One minute I was like "Dude, you're awesome" and the next I was like "Dude you crazy". He said some things that made me hate him but then the end, the epilogue, oh god my heart. I cried. When I heard he was getting his own book I was over the moon. I can't wait to learn more about this wonderful psycho.
The story has many twits and turns to keep you hooked. The ending felt a tiny bit rushed but overall it was a great ending to Rook and Ronin's story. I love this series and I'm sad to see it come to an end but I still have Spencer and Ford's books to look forward to. If you haven't read this series yet then I highly recommend it!
Favourite Quote: “I'll ruin everything if you touch me. I'll ruin us. I'll ruin this. I'll ruin you, just like you said. I'll ruin you and I'll ruin your life. And I love you too much to ruin you. So I'm leaving.” (Cue the tears!)(less)

I was not expecting to like it so much seeing as I don't normal connect with short stories. The characters were awesome and the story line was jam-packed and moved along at a nice pace. The author managed to pack a fantastic story into a measly 98 pages.
I loved the story-line. It was so funny watching Eliza going on all these horrible dates to try and find the guy who kissed her. I had a pretty good idea who it was from the start but it was still fun to watch the story unfold. It is told in multiple POVs so we get the full experience. We even get a few flash-backs which added even more to the story. It was sweet and cute and I absolutely loved who the mystery kisser was. A brilliant story. (less)

I loved Tragic and I am so happy to say that Manic was just as good. Huss really has created a fantastic story here and I am so happy that I got to review these books.
In this book, Rook has taken on the STURGIS contract. But she really should have read the fine print before signing on the dotted line. She is after getting in way over her head, especially when she sees the cameramen setting up shop in the studio. Poor Rook. She really should have listened to Ronin before taking this job. And she realizes this straight away but that girl is one stubborn cookie and she isn't gonna let Ronin or Spencer, or new guy Ford tell her what to do.
I liked Rook for her spunk and her fighting spirit. The girl has guts. But by god she can make some stupid choices sometimes. I still love the girl but sometimes I felt like telling her to take a step back and really think about things before jumping in head first. She wants to do things her way but I still felt like she kind of let Ronin push her around too much. For someone who is escaping an abusive and controlling ex, she did seem to let other people make a lot of decisions for her. She didn't back down from the STURGIS contract, I'll give her that. She knew she made a mistake but she still stuck with it. I admired her tenacity.
The male characters I love in this book. Especially Spencer. He is hilarious and I wouldn't mind letting him paint on me ;) I would so love to see all the body art he painted on Rook, especially the last piece. From the way Huss described it it sounds amazing! Ford I didn't like at the start but he soon began to grow on me and by the end I loved him. I think he was a great friend to Rook, really looking out for her. I loved this quote from him.
“I’m not trying to fix you, I’m just trying to give you the tools to fix yourself.”
Him, Ronin and Spencer have a past together and it was exciting learning about them all. They really made a formidable trio. Ones not to be messed with. Ronin kind of annoyed me in this one. I can understand where he is coming from with not wanting Rook to do this contract and I completely understand his jealousy but his domineering crap pissed me off sometimes. I know he is Rook's manager as well as her boyfriend and he is only looking out for her. I loved that he was so caring and protective of her but I still think he needed to tone it down a bit and not keeping so many secrets from her. We got to learn a lot more about Ronin and some of it really surprised me. I loved that some of the story was in his POV as it really added to the overall story. Another thing that slightly bothered me was I kind of felt like they were maybe going a bit too fast in their relationship, especially with Ronin talking about wanting a family and everything. He's only 22 (I think). He has plenty of time before settling down. And Rook is 19. She should not need to be thinking about this. And I'm really glad that she told him she wanted to go to college. She had no intentions of starting a family any time soon.
The ending was perfect. What Ronin, Spencer and Ford did for Rook was awesome and completely genius. A lot of things got resolved and so I'm excited to see where Huss is gonna take the story from here. I really love this series. It's original and not that predictable. And it's slightly addictive lol. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a hot, sexy read with a whole host a smexy guys. (less)

I really liked this book. I had hopes that it would be a great read and I was not disappointed. This was a book I found myself staying up all night to read, not realising that it was 3am and I was nearly finished it.
The main thing I loved about this book was Liam. A proper swoon worthy male. Not only is he from Scotland so he has a nice yummy accent, but he also a total gentleman. And he cooks! And he has the cutest nickname for Jillian I have ever come across in a book. I just loved everything about Liam. I did slightly wonder why he was so persistent with Jillian after a one night stand though. I also loved that the story was kind of backwards. They slept together and then they go about getting to know one another. It upped the sexual tension.
Jillian I have to admit I did not like at the start. She came across as a bitch. But then when I found out why she was a bitch to Liam and other guys I kind of started to sympathies with her. Even if she did over act a great deal to some things I still felt sorry for her and could understand why she was distancing herself from a relationship. And I hated her mother. I know deep deep down she just wanted to protect her child but my god she had an odd way of showing it. She was such a bitch to her and I'm glad Jillian stood up to her. Other characters I really liked were Jillian's friends. They were so caring and supportive. They stuck with her through thick and thin and I loved them for that.
Overall this was a fun and sexy read that will make you laugh but also pull on your heart strings. A great book for all NA contemporary lovers out there. I can't wait for the next book.(less)

I am always a bit two minds when it comes to short stories. Most of the time I feel that the book isn't long enough to deliver any real emotion or leave much of an impact on me. That being said I quite enjoyed this book. The author did a great job of making me care about the characters and I actually found myself getting emotional at some bits. I became invested in the characters and really wanted to see what would happen next with them. I liked how Jewel and Colin interacted with one another. I loved that the book was told in dual POV. Again though, as is the case with most short stories, we have the dreaded insta-love. Even though the book was spaced out over a summer it still felt like insta-love because of how short the book was. It felt a bit rushed, especially the ending. I would have loved if the book was longer and the ending wasn't has rushed. But overall this was a fun and romantic read.(less)

This book. Dear god this book. I went through so many different emotions while reading this. I adored Live For You so I couldn't wait to jump into Only For You. I was so happy that I didn't have long to wait between books.
This is the conclusion of Rae and Cole's story and my god does their relationship go through the ringer in this. Nothing is ever plain sailing and that is definitely the case for these two. They go through so much in this and I just kept hoping and praying that they will get their happily ever after. I love these two and I so wanted them to be happy.
I have to say, Ms Valentine is evil! How could you start a book like that?! I had to re-read the prologue twice to make sure I was reading it right. Don't do that to my heart! I was so tempted to just skip straight to the end to see if it ended the way I hoped it would. Luckily I was able to restrain myself. And my god was my heart put to the test. I alternated between wanting to scream in frustration, cry in sadness, and laugh with happiness. The characters frustrated me to no end. I wanted to reach into my kindle and shake some sense into them. It was like watching a car crash. You know whats coming, you know you should look away, but you just can't. This book is just so gloriously addictive.
In Live For You we only got Rae and Cole's POV but in Only For You we are also given Jaxon Hunter's POV. I was all set to hate Jaxon. I really was. But that sneaky little fecker managed to worm his way into my heart. Even though I wanted to bash him across the head so many times, I still grew a soft spot for him. He was so intent on winning Rae back that he was blind to something that was right in front of him. Seriously, why are guys such fricking stubborn idiots? He managed to pull his head out of his ass long enough to do the right thing though. And then at end I find out he's getting his own book?? Hell. Yes. I can't WAIT for this, especially to find out more about Bliss Davenport, who we meet in Only For You.
Also, what the hell is with the parents in this series?? First Cole's mother, now his Dad? I seriously wanted to punch that SOB in the face. I get that the music industry can be ruthless and what not but this guy takes it to a whole other level. The things he has done is horrendous, especially to Jaxon, and I felt so much worse for him and Cole.
I can't recommend this book enough. This series is becoming a new favourite of mine. Full of drama, angst, backstabbing, heartbreak, and some seriously hot southern boys. Your love of all things country will increase and make you dream of finding your own boy from the south.(less)

This is the story of Violet Rae Givens who after a landing her self in jail flees to her grandmothers home. Away from the spotlight that comes with being a country music star. Violet Rae's story is an interesting one but it also pulls on your heartstrings. She loses so much more than her good girl image that night and it was great to find out bits and pieces of the story as the book progressed. We don't find out all the details so I'm hoping more will be reveal in the next book. I liked Violet Rae. Even though she has been through so much she is a fighter. She stands up for what she wants and I liked that she stood up to her parents when they tried to tell her what was best.
The thing that made me love this book though was Cole. Ah Cole. I don't know what it is but I love guys from the south. Maybe it's the accent? Or just everything? Whatever it is I fell in love with Cole. Even though he's only 22 he has to almost single handily care for his family, especially his 6 yr old sister, who is such a little cutie! Not only that he has to manage a bar and the stress of paying bills and paying employees. He has to deal with a lot of shit in his life and he tries to deal with it by getting in to fights to release all the anger and stress. This might seem like he is a real rough character but he is such a sweety. He cares so much for his brother and sister and then when Violet Rae comes into his life you really get to see the caring loving guy underneath. I swooned so much. I want a boy from the south!
The story line kept me engaged. Not much is revealed about both characters at the start so this makes you want to keep reading. I loved watching Rae and Cole's relationship develop into something beautiful. The story is about hope and self discovery and learning to go after what you want in life and not listen to those around you. It had me smiling and laughing and left me with a warm happy feeling inside. Cannot wait for the other books in this series. Cole and Rae's story continues in book 2 but book 3 is gonna be about Wyatt and Lacey who we meet in Live for You. I really liked Wyatt and I can't wait to learn more about Lacey. So excited for this book!(less)

This was a very enjoyable read. Filled with action and romance it had me hooked from the very first page. I really liked the characters. Although Skye has been through a lot she is still fighting on, even if she does spend most of her nights drinking her sorrows away. I liked her reaction when Xander first explained everything to her. It was realistic. She didn't just straight away believe him but I still think she gave in too quickly. Xander I loved. He is so loyal and protective of Skye. Their love is forbidden and they know it will never work but they can't fight their feelings for one another. I loved the back-story behind how Xander knew Skye. I thought that justified the somewhat insta-love. The story is told in dual POV so I really liked getting both Xander's and Skye's side of things. There is plenty of action and suspense that will keep the reader engaged in the story and there are plenty of twists and turns too. The story was kept moving and never lagged behind. Be warned. There is a mahoosive cliffhanger at the end! At first I didn't quite believe that that was the end. I kept turning the pages on my kindle looking for another page but nope. Now I can't wait for the second book to find out what the frick happened! A thoroughly exciting and engaging read.(less)
