I read this in two sitting, and was so inspired by the honesty and humility of the authors. Their story helped me understand that anything can be overcome by faith and hard work. This book will benefit everyone - those who are considering marriage, those in good marriages, and those in troubled marriages who are searching for understanding.
Buy bunches of copies and give them to friends! Be a conduit of hope for them.(less)

My husband and I both read this as newlyweds, and it started our marriage off on the right path. We understood things about each other that might otherwise have been irritations. We have since done engaged counseling for other couples, and put this on our required reading list.(less)

Compared to almost all other books, this would be a five. But, after reading her book "The Distant Hours", there has to be some way to show that one is even better than the other.
So...this book is knocked down to four. The premise and execution were terrific, but there was just a little too much of it. It could have been better told through two points of view instead of three.

Not a five star because I don't see myself re-reading it, or counting it among my all-time favorites, but it was thoroughly enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it.(less)

While not a page-turner, it was very original and engagine. On a side note, the movie did an excellent job of capturing the author's intent. Perhaps one of the best book-to-film renditions I've ever seen.(less)

This little book is a goldmine of wisdom into what it means to honor saints. Perhaps the best analogy is that they are like business mentors. I have used this explanation many times for people who think that we worship saints. In addition, I became a devoted fan of St. Philomena, and take every opportunity to promote her to those who will listen!(less)

I love travel books with a structure, and this delivers in spades. The author and his wife travel around the country in search of the meaning of towns with names like "Bliss" and "Comfort". How did they get their names? Do they live up to them?
