I think this was one of the bestIt started a little slow for me, but I was soon swept up in the story. It was surprisingly beautiful and insightful. I think this was one of the best romances I ever read because it felt so real. I don't have words to describe how wonderful reading this book was or how much it touched me, even as I write this there are tears leaking out of my eyes. Not because it was sad, but because it was so startling beautiful it hurts.
I think the subject matter was handled perfectly, even if I disagreed with some of the heroines actions. It was such a classy book. It had real female friendships and girl power done is a very different and subtle way. I'm awed at how the author managed to sneak so much meaning into the novel. I'm not sure I'm expressing myself well here, but this book really touched me, deep in my heart. Lucas was such an incredible hero, but human with flaws and secrets and pain. I want to hug him and ask him to marry me at the same time. Jackie was a great heroine too, as flawed as her hero but all the better for it.
I want to thank Tammara Webber for this experience, for the hours that I spent in her world and for all the deep buried feelings inside myself that resurfaced while reading this. I'm going to hunt down any other work of hers, because after this I trust her implicitly. So thank Tammara for making me feel human again, for making me believe love really exits, even if I haven't felt it in a long while. It's weird that a fictional story was capable of reminding me to believe in love once again. So thank you again for that....more

Ok, so this book is cheesy and formulaic. The plot is simple and you can easily guess what will happen. The romance is cliché. HOWEVER, I kind of loveOk, so this book is cheesy and formulaic. This is the type of novel that I needed right now. I read a couple of heart-breaking books lately, and I wanted a fun and silly read to enjoy. It certainly fit the bill.
The main character is Lucifer's daughter, but she is a virgin and her dad is always trying to get her to sin more and lose her virginity. The best parts of this book were the interactions between them. They were hilarious and super sweet in a very twisted way (my favorite kind). I have this soft spot for Lucifer in works of fiction, which kind of disturbs my growing up catholic ass (although I don't subscribe to any religion since I became an adult). I did love Lucifer here and Muriel calling him daddy.
The hero is very alpha, as usual, but I liked the fact that the heroine is kick ass on her own right, being a princess of hell and all. She kicks ass better than he does. One scene I particularly liked was when he was trying to protect her by walking first into her apartment and looking for any attackers. Muriel stands back with her friend Charon (another great character) who laughs under his breath. She tells him that she thinks it's cute, since nobody has ever tried to protect her before. I really loved that she thought how cute the hero was when trying to be all alpha, since he really didn't have to. Muriel can take care of herself, which she proves quite often. I like a book that can poke fun at its own alpha male.
The sex scenes were a bit over the top, but again something that is very much in accordance to its genre. I'm used to it now.
So, if you're looking for something fun, silly and fluffy. Give this one a try, but don't complain that I didn't warn you of its cheesiness. It's a very fast read too.
PS: I was kind of torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars. I'm giving it 4 for now, but I might change that soon. ...more
I LOVED this book. It's beautiful in a subtle way. It's gentle and subdued, but oh so deep. Goodness is it's message. Doing the right thing. Marcelo iI LOVED this book. It's beautiful in a subtle way. It's gentle and subdued, but oh so deep. Goodness is it's message. Doing the right thing. Marcelo is special, and not because he has AS, but because he has the kindest soul I've probably ever read about. I had tears leaking out of my eyes at the end, but not because it was sad, but because it was just beautiful.
Also, it's way better than The Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. I couldn't connect with the latter, but I sure connected deeply with Marcelo.
Just read it. You won't regret. You could spend time in a billion of worst places than Marcelo's head. This book is food for the soul. ...more
