This is one of the most honest biographies I read. Of course, Rodman is a cult-hero, the best guard of the successfull Chicago Bulls in the 90's and the American Dream Team. But outside the NBA-court, controversial.
Rodman describes how he worked himself up in the hard NBA-world by working his guts out. From a lousy job at the airport in his tough childhood to one of the most successfull guards in the NBA-history.
Rodman is indignant, and nobody gets spared. The NBA-management, Madonna's appeals for Rodman to be with her, some NBA-players, the world around the NBA, racism, sexuality and his self.
Rodman does exactly what he wants. F*ck the world, I do my thing is the message. ...more

A dirty history not really known, in the big shadow of World War II. I think it's very important to know what the Chinese civilians have suffered and been through.
Iris Chang describes how Japan invades the capital-city and how they occupied it.
This book contains mostly very cruel(!) torture, executions, rape, assaults and more.
Japan was a cruel population. Here is described as well how Japanese children at that time, were prepared for war. No toys but war-minded stuff. This is apart from the Unit 731, were people were used as experimentals for chemical warfare, but that's another story.
Women were (multiple)raped on large scale and held as comfort women. Men got butchered on various ways, all defined in this. (also horrible pictures within the book of victims)
Iris Chang tells also about John Rabe, the German who saved a lot of Chinese by set up an secured zone. (filmed in 2009)
This is not for the faint of heart. But it's history and good to know something about it.
In 2005, Japan apologized for the first time since this horrible invading to China.

He finds it difficult to accept, and endures a furtive facelift to improve his features.
The unknown surgeon makes a mistake and this goes wrong. To avoid the press, Todd hides in a resort in Coldheart Canyon, where he can heal, or awaits the healing of his face.
Tammie, the chubby founder of Todd's fanclub (who is in love with him), gets hints of his new whereabouts, and is looking for him through the desert nearby Hollywood.
The resort Todd is staying is haunted. The spirit of Katya Lupi, the beautiful ex-moviestar makes her presence more and often. Todd is seduced by Katya and from here, everything goes in a rapid.
I liked this book very much because there are 3 story lines which come together. Todd, Tammie and the history of (bad and sexy Katya).
This book is full of mystery, erotic, horror, death, drama and infernal business and their creatures.
As well an outstanding created world around Hollywood. All was very imaginable. One of the best Barker's I've read.
Very highly recommended to all who love haunted houses.
