There is no reason why you should be reading book two unless you have read book one--that being said, the rest of my review is filled with spoilers. Proceed at your own peril :) ***** Silas "wakes up" again with no memories of his past relationship with his girlfriend, Charlie. All he knows comes from the letters they have left behind. Which doesn't give a hell of a lot of info. And now he has forty eight hours to find Charlie, before he "forgets" again.
Charlie "wakes up" to find herself in a locked room, with no memory of who she is and how she got there. Who is her kidnapper? Is she truly insane? Is she at a mental hospital and what the hell is happening? Why can't she remember?
Will these two finally find the answers they are looking for to unlock the secrets of their past? And once they find the answers, will the truth finally set them free from forgetting how much they mean to each other?
GAH---the tension in each chapter is maddening and so addictive, I couldn't stop reading until I reached yet another cliffy (curse you Fisher and Hoover)...
Well written. Well told. And thoroughly frustrating.
Let me start off by saying I am so damn glad I made the decision to read this three part novella series after all three had been published. IFINALLY!
Let me start off by saying I am so damn glad I made the decision to read this three part novella series after all three had been published. I don't think I could have stood the length between novellas before getting answers.
Never Never was a gripping, fast-paced read filled with huge WTF moments and twisty turns that kept me on the edge until the very end.
SPOILERS AHEAD---PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Silas and Charlie wake up with no memory of who they are and the events that led to their break-up. After playing catch-up via letters they have left for themselves, they still have no clue what is going on.
Why did they break up? What happened between their families and why is there so much animosity between their fathers? Why is Charlie's mom a raging alcoholic? Is Charlie's dad truly guilty or is he an innocent man inprisoned behind bars? Who exactly is Shrimp and does she hold the answers to why Charlie and Silas's memory lapse?
Why does this keep happening every forty eight hours?
After Silas finds Charlie, he knows that time is running out. Both Silas and Charlie will lose their memory again when the clock strikes 11:00 a.m. and they will have to start all over again.
But something strange happens this time. At 11:01, Silas retains his memories of the last two days.
Buckle up for a doozy of a ride, my friends. But NEVER NEVER fear. You will finally get the answers you have been waiting...nay...DYING for.
I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.
I even had a moment of "HOLD UP, What the HELL?!!" during the epilogue. I had to go back and re-read again just to make sure I understood what had happened, LOL.
Yes, everything is explained...yes, it all comes together seamlessly...and yes, I was a bit peeved at the end.
Seriously???? You're gonna end it like that?
But I loved the hijinks and tom-foolery just the same.
This three part novella series are not for those who are looking for straight-up romance or those who hate cliffhangers. But if that's your gig--mixed with a ton of angst and nail-biting tension--I highly recommend this book! It serves it up in spades!
P.S. Yes, I am a big, fat meanie for the drop from 5 to 4 stars....because, what the hell, Fisher and Hoover. You did a fade to black??????? Just...no.

Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher are both awesome authors who are auto-buys for me. It is not surprising that they held me in their grip until the last page. I hate to give a review that posts spoilers, as I believe a reader SHOULD enjoy the confusing ride as it unfolds. So, therefore---continue reading at your own risk. Spoilers Ahoy! ***** Silas and Charlie have been boyfriend/girlfriend for four years. And then something strange happens during fourth period. They lose their memories of each other, their friends, and their families. Yet they can remember how to drive, who the president is, and how to use google. This strange phenomenon places both Silas and Charlie together as the struggle to find out the truth. As secrets leak out, they discover things about themselves they don't exactly like. And before the answers become clear and they discover the truth, time becomes their enemy. Silas discovers that he and Charlie have lost their memories before...and it is going to happen again. This time, the stakes are higher...because Charlie has gone missing.
I need book two immediately so my mind can be blown again.

A sexy, Alpha wolf (shifter) who was blind. I hadn't seen it done before, so my interest was definitely peaked before beginning this series.
Julia is the quintessential shy, plain, overweight heroine, who has never had a relationship with the opposite sex. She lives with her grandmother and works at the local college library, where she meets a good looking stranger, Damien. He is unlike the typical college jocks that frequent the library--he is simply stunning. Julia feels she has finally met her prince charming. When she discovers that a beautiful and thin woman is waiting on her sexy stranger, Julia realizes that he was never her prince to begin with.
Damien immediately senses that the woman helping him at the library could be his mate. But when he finds out she is human, he feels the Calling has gotten it wrong. Shifters were never mated with humans. Damien needs to put the beautiful stranger out of his mind and focus his attention to finding a place for him and his pack to settle. And as Alpha to this small pack, he must also choose his mate.
Despite the promising premise of this book, I just could not get into the characters (Damien and Julia). Julia's constant pessimistic attitude towards herself was off-putting. I was hoping for a stronger character--one who not only accepts herself and what she thinks she lacks, but who would stand up for herself and believe she was capable of love. And the fact that Damien also suffers from low self-esteem just made it worse.
Another bothersome issue for me was the fact that I felt Damien only wanted to be with Julia because he was her mate. They had an instant connection, instant sex, instant relationship. It just didn't fly for me and made everything seemed rushed. The story itself is filled with lots of holes and could have been presented a lot better. Blind Wolf was a difficult-to-finish series plagued with difficult-to-like characters.

In fact, it made me want to immediately read the others in this action-packed series.
I can also admit I am not a fan of novellas. I like my stories meaty. Long. Page after page of excitement and spellbinding. But, a novella is a great way to introduce a new-to-me author and a way to see if this series would be something I would want to continue reading.
Island Peril is compact, but provided it all. Great sexual chemistry, enough action to get your blood pumping, and an engaging read until the last page was read. It whetted my appetite for more.
When Ella Hammond takes a kayaking trip with her sister and niece, things quickly turn from good to bad.
The trip is lead by the very sexy Paul Dawson. Picture tall, dark, athletic. Sexy. Charming. He has it in spades. And when Paul and Ella find themselves marooned on a deserted island with bad guys shooting at them, things quickly go from bad...to deadly.
All in all--Island Peril is a captivating tale filled with danger and steamy romance. ...more

Mr. Virile is the sexy, suave, Dane Martin, who knows how to pleasure a woman. He loves women. He loves sex. But he doesn't do relationships. He knows how to read women. He knows how to charm the panties off of them...literally. And he does it with unerringly accuracy. In fact, Dane helps his fellow man by giving them advice with his blog.
The Girl Next Door is the cute and snarky Holly Winters. She is looking for that perfect relationship. And she won't settle for meaningless sex. She has rules, morals, and an advice blog helping other women who are out there searching for their Mr. Right.
Completely unaware, Dane and Holly are set up by their agents. They have their own agenda. (and hopefully, their own story???) Both Dane and Holly agree to "date" to help promote their blogs and book deals.
But feelings are slowly changing during the faux dates. Dane wants Holly, true. But he starts to want something more than just sex. And Holly wants it all...but is afraid that Mr. Virile is just after one thing.
Gwen has penned a charming, humorous, yet, short tale of two people who discover that sex with someone you care about changes everything. It is often predictable, but well written and has engaging characters.
This was my first time reading Gwen Hayes, but it certainly won't be my last.

Kresley Cole has my full, undivided attention--AGAIN--with The Professional: Part Two. She left me hanging with Part One and swearing a blue streak as I realized I was at the end of her novella.
My exact words as I finished part two: "Kresley, you are one crafty witch. I adore your brain, woman." The Professional: Part Two picks up with Sevastyan and Natalie alone and sheltered from the storm...a perfect seduction scene where Natalie's senses are heightened by the very attentive and dominant Siberian. Cliche? Yes...but it works. And what follows is a sizzling scene of epic proportions. I still need time to recover from it.
It is then that Sevastyan makes his claim and their erotic encounter leaves Natalie reeling. This man, practically a stranger, has marked her, altered her, and nothing will ever be the same.
But the dark and dangerous Siberian refuses to open up to the woman who has become his obsession. And Natalie is left confused and wondering if their relationship can ever be something more permanent when he refuses to answer her questions.
An unexpected and horrific tragedy has Sevastyan and Natalie fleeing to Paris where their already fragile connection starts to unravel. Sevastyan starts to treat Natalie differently. This tender, more docile lover is not the man Natalie needs.
Natalie pushes her Siberian to give in to his darker desires and ends up playing a dangerous game that could break the fragile bond between them.
The Game Maker series is a dark and sensual romance amidst a dangerous backdrop of assassins and the Russian mafiya. Kresley Cole gives erotic romance a swift kick in the teeth with The Professional and leaves the other wanna-be's in her dust.

Kresley Cole has written a dark, highly erotic, thriller mixed with an intense love story that borders on obsession.
Sevastyan has brought Natalie to Le Libertin, a sex club in Paris, and ultimately opened her eyes to a world where the sins of the flesh are not only acceptable--they are relished.
Natalie has pushed Sevastyan to accept his darker side...his primal needs, and how she responds to it will determine if Sevastyan will continue to feed those darker urges.
But will Sevastyan finally open up to Natalie--bare all for the sake of the survival of their relationship? Something that can leave him more vulnerable and possibly even destroy their fragile relationship?
Or is it already too late when--once again--Sevastyan closes up after an explosive sexual encounter that leaves Natalie wanting more?
After reading this new series from Cole, I can honestly say that I need more. More Sevastyan. More Maksim. And more Jesse. Seriously, I want to see how Jesse reacts to the cold winters of Russia and I need her to fall...hard...for her own sexy Siberian.
I love how Cole fuses sex, romance, drama, and humor into a compelling story that has you panting like you've been shot up with an overdose of endorphins. The Professional is a thrilling ride that I wish I could experience for the first time...over and over...until I'm exhausted from the rush.

Raw is a novella (eighty pages) that tells only the beginning of the story. The story of Anna Claire and Grayson James.
Anna Claire has spent years working hard to achieve her dream--owning a restaurant in the fabulous New York City. And she has finally achieved that goal. Only now, she finds herself alone, with no real ties to anyone. She feels disconnected and hasn't had time to enjoy the good things in life, especially men.
Grayson James, her prep chef at Floor Fifty Five, has every intention of showing his lovely boss how to have fun.
Late after work, Anna is attacked by a stranger and then rescued by Gray. He was certainly in the right place at the right time. And as Gray escorts her home, they realize they live in the same building--same floor.
Raw is filled with sex, secrets, and and a deceitful web of entanglement. Trust is compromised between two lovers as danger hides in the darkness. And the appearance of a stranger may entice Anna away from the man who wants to win her heart.
Jo Davis provides the reader with a quick romance, but produces a story with suspense, steamy sexy, and a twisty plot. She also leaves us hanging with a doozy of a cliffhanger. I'm not sure if I like the direction Raw seems to be taking at the end, but Davis has intrigued me enough to want to find out. ...more

Historical romance is not usually the genre I seek out when looking for a good read. But author, Kristen Callihan is someone not to be missed.
Kristen's writing in her Darkest London series puts you in 1800s England, along the dark, seedy streets of London...or Ireland, as is the setting for her novella, Entwined. Eamon Evernight is the unlikely hero of Entwined. He is the second son, the outcast, the "redheaded devil's child. Shy around women and prefers to spend his time alone in his smithy. But when he receives the news that his eldest brother, Aidan, is betrothed to the mysterious Lady Luella Moran, the loyal Eamon steps in to write a letter posing as Aidan. It appears that Lady Luellen does not want the betrothal to take place, considering it a "archaic and glorified stud service". But although Aidan is not looking forward to the arrangement, he wants the marriage to take place. As he cannot read or write, he convinces his brother, Eamon to pen a letter to help persuade Lady Luella to keep to the terms of the contract set between their fathers.
What follows is an assemblage of letters spanning the next four years. Four years where both Eamon and Luella fall in love over time, spilling out their hearts onto paper, minus two secrets. Eamon is not the man he is pretending to be...but what secret is Luella hiding that could send her out in the cold, destitute and alone?
I loved the telling of Eamon and Lu's love story. It grew through their shared letters, slowly, and with witty postscripts. And when they finally meet face to face, there is a hint of something familiar that Luella senses in Eamon.
And when Aidan runs off to the Americas, leaving her a jilted almost-bride, Eamon steps in his brother's place...again.
But can the secrets these two new lovers are hiding destroy their fragile beginning?
A beautifully told love story with poignant scenes that melt the heart.

That book made me laugh, and I was glad to see that Anne Tenino had written a novella that showcases how things are going between Brad and Sebastian.
This novella starts out with Sebastian working on his thesis. He's been totally absorbed with his writing, and Brad has been feeling a bit neglected. At the heart of this quick read is this--Sebastian and Brad are at a crossroads in their relationship. Things have never been defined for Brad and Sebastian has never realized how his lover has felt a sort of disconnection.
It was great to see inside Sebastian's head as he worked through his emotions and came to realize what was missing in his relationship. Anne did a great job portraying Sebastian's vulnerability without losing any of the cockiness that makes Sebastian such an intriguing male. And Bradly was still downright sexy, even during his submission to Sebastian.
Fans of Tenino's Frat Boy and Toppy will enjoy reading this novella to see how Sebastian and Brad continue to grow in order to commit to each other for a more permanent future together. ...more
