The most resounding word that comes to my mind whenever I think of her is relatable. Maggie is a girl we can all relate to. She’s so down to earth and truthful, with all the normal insecurities of a young girl, but with such an empowerment to overcome adversities that make her the perfect primary character throughout the story. Caleb: A sweet, tender, loving and amazing guy that becomes Maggie’s soul mate on the moment they meet. There is such a magical connection between them, that one can only wonder as we read: Can people truly fall in love right on the very second they meet? Shelly Crane makes us believe this is true, and not only that, but that it can become a turning point in your life. Our Maggie has to make some very hard and heartbreaking choices that change everything around her, but ultimately, she shows us love is the only way throughout the pages of this amazing love story plagued with adventure and emotions. It’s simple: Without love, there is no happiness. This perfect paranormal romance that develops as you continue reading the story with Maggie and Caleb leaves your heart feeling warm inside, and I can guarantee that all paranormal/romance/YA fans will absolutely adore this book! I can describe it as the perfect mixture between love, mysticism, magic and eternity. This is a must-read book for every single girl/women/teenager who truly believes in love. And for the paranormal lovers too! My 5 words to describe it: Love, Eternity, Mysticism, Magic and Sweetness

In Spellbound, Samantha Combs delivers an exciting, misterious and sweet love-filled YA story unlike many I’ve read before: The fantasy world surrounding the pages of the book comes to life each time you read it’s words, making it a must read this year! I am so pleased with the book I can’t wait for the sequel!~
I absolutely loved the way the book was written, it was in first person by so many different characters that are a major part of the story. You get to see every character’s life, experiences and feelings shared by him or her, so you know them so well that there’s not one part of ther life left in the dark.
Logan: I adored him! Sweet, talented, gorgeous and also with a secret (No spoilers ) makes him a perfect guy and an ideal boyfriend. He’s sweetness to Serena is beyond words!
Serena: A magical and enchanting girl with great powers and a strong will to fight evil makes her an ideal character, and together with Logan, their love and strenght can make the impossible possible.
Serena and Logan know each other on a normal day in Lancaster, when Logan arrives at school late (yet again!). While he walks in, he sees three lovely girls, each different form one another. One catches his eye: Serena Starr.
What Logan didn’t know at the time was that she was about to change his life forever. Serena is a twitch ( A teen witch) with special powers inherited by her witch mother, who married the mortal man she loved and was punished for this by the witch Council. Now they want Serena, but Logan won’t let any harm come to her.
The love that blossomed between them happened a bit fast, but never lacking it’s signature sweetness. Logan wants to protect Serena at all cost from the evil forces that threaten them, but will they survive the darkness?
Demons, witches, twitches, covens and more are the magical creatures of Spellbound’s world, so if you like YA + Magic, you are in for a treat !

This is what seems to happen to these star-crossed lovers whenever they finally find each other in life, but can they trick fate this time around?. The second book of The Pace series is the continuation of Sophie and Weston's story. In the Broken Lake, they both realize that more than worry about the horrible past repeating itself, they have to deviate from the catastrophic fate that makes them be apart in each life they live. They aren’t like any other normal couple: Wes is a science breakthrough. With his childhood hemophilia being cured by an alligator blood transfusion, he is unable to control his body temperature, but he’s also granted with a mighty strength, always using it to protect his beloved Sophie. Sophie is also not normal. Seeming like an average 18 year old with an overprotecting mother, she thinks her life is anything but extraordinary. Until she meets Weston and finds out the truth: She’s lived several lives, a same soul in different bodies, falling in love always with the same man that protects her like a knight in shining armour, Weston. But no love can overcome fate: On her 19th birthday, Sophie always dies, and Wes is left heartbroken, looking for her soul every single day of his life. Until he does.
Opinion: I have to say I liked more The Pace than The Broken Lake. It's well written, has amazing quotes in it but somehow doesn't have that one quality that makes it unforgettable. The antagonists appear as a part of the plot, but do not integrate in the storyline often. I personally would have loved to know much more about Chase and Tim, but I was left in the dark about them. Why where they so interested in Sophie and Weston’s relationship? Is there some kind of hidden agenda that we just don’t know about? Many questions come to my mind! Sophie's friends are a fun diversion; we get to see some of Jackson's and Dawn's relationship as well as Kerry's and Rich's, which was a different turn than the storyline from The Pace. Also, I felt like the love story only came to be truly fulfilled in a certain part of the book (no spoilers !), but in the rest of the book was just cute and lovely, without showing anything new than the romance we saw on The Pace. I hope for a nail biting, sleep depriving continuation on the Iron Quill. Hope this review was helpful! ...more
