He did point out a correct and incorrect way to accept a 'thank you' for a favor or service. I would recommend getting the talk from Audible instead.(less)

There are some things that are discussed in it that are not very well understood by the writer...however I am certain were he alive today he would approach the subjects a little differently. But there are other books that better address these weaknesses, like 'Leadership and Self-Deception' and "The Anatomy of Peace'.
So go get this book as a long term education program. Do not look at it as just another book but rather a course in having a successful life, espescially in terms of accumulation of wealth. This is not a quick read instead it is a guide on specific activities and processes of making your life have more successful outcomes.
I actually listened to the audio book while I was driving through and back from Canada the last couple of days. I bought the book. It is big at almost 500 pages...but remember this is a course of study over a number of days not a book to be consumed in one big marathon (like I did, which is why I bought the book so I can now use it as a cours of study over the next 6 months).(less)

Only like 130 or so pages written in a fable/story format to teach five business/life principals for having a successful fulfilled life. I really liked this little book and would highly recommend it to anybody looking to build a business of any kind.
I am going to review this book again before I head out tomorrow morning with the objective of memorizing the five principles it teaches. Really applicable and meaningful rules to operate by. I hope you go out and read this little book soon and get as much out of it as I did. There is something to be said for simple, easy stories with strong meanings...they are easy to grasp, apply and find value in.

Where the first book 'Leadership and Self Deception' opened my mind and gave it a good premise to start from, this book filled my mind with how to do it. I highly recommend you read them in order although they do stand alone. I got so much out of them reading them this way and believe that most people probably do to...from what I have read.
When the book first started I did not think I would end up giving it this high of a review so you might want to consider that for yourself. An attitude of sticking with it will give you really meaninful rewards I believe.
I want to thank the authors for this well written and thoughtful book. And also I want to thank my wife and children for the lessons I learn from each of them everyday. And lastly to my parents and extended family and friends, thank you for being a part of my life and the many lessons over the too many years you have tried to teach me, even when I have been unwilling to be taught. It is another of the required reading books in our home. I recommend it to all who are just beginning their quest on self improvement and creating better relationships. It is a book that focuses on the mechanics of working with people. Simple ideas that even a nine year old can figure out...
The second book, "How to Stop Worrying..." I bought when i was an LDS missionary in Ireland back in 1977. I found it to be a great book for me as it taught me to focus on the now instead of worrying about things I could not change. I have used the things it taught me throughout my life. I recommend it to everyone as a good beggining book with lots of mechanics on how to do as the title states. This is another book I have my children read as they go through the teen years.(less)

This is one of the very few books I am making a study guide over the next few months. It has been for me the third book in a series of books by the Arbinger Institute, the preceding being "Leadership and Self Deception" and "The Anatomy of Peace". This book is actually by one of the clinician PhD's from the Arbinger. Enough about that...except to say I recommend reading these books in this order as they tended to build on each other for me, however they each stand on their own.
This book has truly helped me in a sense that no other self help or improvement book has ever done. Maybe it has to do with the idea of 'when the student is ready the teacher appears'...but it is my belief that this book helped me be a willing and open student. Using its techniques, if you can call them that, and attitude I have had my world opened up and turned upside down and then comfortably rearranged in a way that has brought me success and happiness, two traits I have been seeking and continue to seek in my life. If you are like me and want more of this in your life then I can highly recommend you read and study this book. It is excellent.
As a last note, I appreciate all of those who have played such vital roles in my life, that is you, my family, friends and business associates. The relationships you have had with me have brought me a lot of success, satisfaction and happiness. As well, so much of my success has been the result of challenges I have had to face. Therefore I want to also express my thanks for those experiences that have brought about a deep change in me. Without them I would be even more difficult be live with!...so you, as my friends, should be thankful for me having them as well...

I love James Allen's 'As a Man Thinketh'. It is required reading in our home. This particular edition has 4 of his books. "Above life's turmoil"...moreI love James Allen's 'As a Man Thinketh'. It is required reading in our home. This particular edition has 4 of his books. "Above life's turmoil" was excellent as well. However "Path to Prospertiy" is rather redundant from the first two books but still worthwhile. We will see what "the Way to Peace" is like. I will let you know when I complete it.
Now I probably would have given this 5 stars, just because the book 'As a Man Thinketh' alone is well worth the time and resources. It is the book I most often recommend to read. It is short with practically every phrase well thought out and meaningful. The only reason it did not get 5 stars was because of the very poor job the publisher did on the layout of the book, the font and readability because of those factors. I would highly recommend another version of these books. Probably each in seperate editions. I personally have "As a Man Thinketh" as a seperate book and have given many copies away.(less)

Really set well with my beliefs on building relationships which are the love of others versus love of self. I think I will buy this book for each of my adult children to read. Hopefully they can learn these concepts faster than the 52 years it has taken me!
It is also a MUST read for leaders in business, especially if you are involved in Network Marketing. Really it is a must read for anyone who wants to make quantum leaps in reaching results in attaining their goals.
