It was very exciting and well - the plot is genius. Well thought through and inspiring in a way that makes you wonder where people get this stuff from?! I didn't have any special relationship with the characters, to be honest I don't really think you got to know them that well. But then again, I don't think that was the point. It is brilliantly told, and even though you get kind of an empty feeling in the end, I think it was executed correctly. Awesome!(less)

I read it in danish, which is the original language and also my native language. It's easy and fast to read. Very spell-binding. Obviously it is a terrible story! But it's interesting. I just can't help but think.. what now? I mean... they're all crazy!(less)

I mean, I would like it to be my kind of book. But I have read Young Adult Fantasy for so many years now, it will be extremely hard to go back from the fast-paced teenage(yet not) love-stories. I read well over half. And it was a good story. The thing is - when I didn't read, I didn't like it, and when I did read it, it took be ages to get through a single chapter. So yes - I gave up, and I'm not proud of it. But I have 20+ books beside I bed I haven't yet read, so I simply haven't got the time!(less)

I love how Edie is so much herself - sometimes totally shy, sometimes talking way to much. I love how Dylan is a total ass, but there's something so sweet about him, and the way he is always testing people - he's obviously really insecure. But most of all I love their love. They just love each other so much. I don't like that sex is one of the reasons they don't just go out. But that's just me - because obviously that's a pretty normal problem. I think they are the perfect couple. He's being mean, she get's sad - but then she also have the guts to tell him off, and that surprised look on her face, when she does it... ! Yes, it is a very teenage-y book, but I still love it. I am a girl after all. As I said - guilty pleasure.(less)

While it was very well-written, it was also the longest it has taken me to read a Percy Jackson book. In the beginning I didn't like reading from Frank and Hazel's point of view. I think it has something to do with the fact, that it is so new for me to know so many different people's point of view. Not only that - but every character could be a main character itself, because they each have individual kind of main character stories. But the last 200 pages or so, I began to really like the two of them. I still love Percy of course. Yes, he did feel kind of foreign in this book, but of course - he was foreign - he had lost his memory! Again I must prays Rick Riordan for being able so write the story in a way, that the reader actually feel what Percy feels. How can you be entirely yourself, when you have no memories of who you are? At some point I really had Camp Half-Blood homesickness. I like CHB better than Camp Jupiter. They are much more like one big family. Not so judging and... cold. Of course I don't think Frank and Hazel are like that, but weren't they the freaks of Camp Jupiter for that exact reason? I must admit, when I finished the former book, I had really expected this book would be about when Jason, Piper, Leo and Annabeth arrived at Camp Jupiter. But now I understand, of course, that there was much more story to be told in between. Still, I don't think this book was as fast-paced at the other Percy Jackson books, which kind of bums me out. But I'm still really looking forward to the next one get's released!(less)

The author is ridiculously talented! I love the way she writes. Though I have given them the same amount of stars, I liked the first book better. I'm not exactly sure why. Something about the ending of this book. It was a little weak for some reason. But oh, how I love the characters. Their personalities are so interesting! I love how the main character is so just and fair, but you don't get the feel of her being a saint or anything all good like that. There's just a balance, you know? It's funny because in A Hundred Thousand Kingdoms I absolutely loved Nahadoth, even though he's really scary and evil at times. But in this book I didn't like him at all, instead I loved Itempas, whom I hated in AHTK! That is damn good writing... I love it when they do that. I will recommend this book to all fantasy lovers. I don't see this book at Young Adult, but I think teenagers can still easily read it.(less)
