I don't have a thing for lust at first sight so it was rather a bit difficult for me to believe that Kasey was already falling in love with Skyler. Their relationship was based on sex... so I was kind of confused when things were suddenly getting serious so fast! There wasn't exactly any character development and the story was very vague. Overall, decent erotica book that could have been so much better, 3/5 stars.(less)

The problem is is that one of the two is still 'technically' married but is filing for divorce. So where does that leave us? A very complicated situation where the heroine makes some undeniably stupid mistakes and lots of secrets that should have been let out ages ago. I'm a fan of Desiree Holt but I think this has got to be one of the worst stories I've read in awhile. I hated Julia for keeping her secret and being spineless towards her marriage and true love. Luke happens to be the love of her life... but she let him go due to some odd idea that it would be better for her children?!
Now here comes the irony, Julia's husband was pretty awful to her and his own children, and she stayed with him because she wanted what was best for them. I'm forever judging you Julia. All they ever wanted was happiness for Julia and someone to love them but because of her stupid decision to let things be as they are, fourteen years have passed. The funny thing is that I thought Luke would have hated her for making him wait this long... but he didn't hate her. In fact, he still loves her, in which I don't really get. She kept a huge secret from him that he deserved to know and thankfully, he did sort of get pissed off at her in the end when he eventually found out. Every right minded person would know that if you kept a secret THAT big, it'll eventually be let out the bag. Julia was so afraid of the consequences her secret would do to her and her family if it was ever let out. You either make or break it, and in this case, she thought it would break the trust and bond between her children.
Overall, I thought this book was pretty amusing. I didn't like the heroine, but the chemistry between Luke and Julia was smokin' hot. The cover's also very sexy. I just like my heroines to be kick ass material and sadly, Julia didn't match. Reading this actually made me cynical and sarcastic! In the end, I'd give this one a 3/5 stars.(less)

After reading a couple of Desiree Holt's stories, I'm starting to feel as if her stories have a certain repetitive theme to it. Clearly, this book has some extreme sexual situations that are not suitable for everyone; in other words, be forewarned. It was basically a short and quick read-- roughly around 30 pages? I'm pretty sure that if the plot was fully developed along with the characters, it would have attained a higher rating from me. I do have to admit that the chemistry itself could have blown the hotness factor all the way to the roof. It had some mixture of light-BDSM but overall, it wasn't really that big of a deal.
If I could have rated it separately, the chemistry and sex factor between the two characters would have earned a solid 5 stars. But as for the plot and the development of the characters... Let's just say a 1 star because even after reading this short read, I'm still confused as to how these two even met. Sure, he was her divorce attorney, but there was no further story to it? Overall, it was an enjoyable although easily forgotten read. 3/5 stars.(less)

I may not be an avid fan of BDSM, but I feel as if the heroine in this story was so unoriginal. Although, I am seriously raising my eyebrows at the things that Luke did to her during their little interlude. It was also rather ironic towards the end, hah! Who knew he would end up being her.... yeah, you kind of get the picture right? Maybe not, but I found it rather amusing. It's a hot and quick read, so if you want to get your mind off things, you should definitely try out the author. I actually enjoyed the second book I read from her, Once Burned. Mm, the story wasn't exactly original but I do give it points for the hot chemistry between the characters! So I give it a 3/5 stars overall!(less)
