Pulled Beneath by Marni Mann tells the story of a young woman who goes through tremendous heartbreak and devastation after the murder of her parents one evening. Mann does a great job of captivating the reader's attention as well as conveying Drew's thoughts and emotions throughout the book. In addition, I also thought the author did a wonderful job capturing the imagery and setting of the story. Although I was rather hesitant and unsure about Drew at first, she definitely grew on me. I thoroughly enjoyed her relationship and chemistry with Saint, our heroine's main love interest. From their very first meeting, readers can instantaneously sense the attraction as well as the beginnings of a sweet romance between the two.
However, Pulled Beneath is also about Drew's journey in finding herself and essentially her place and 'home' after losing what she thought was her only family. DDrew struggles to move on after the death of her parents but eventually is blind-sided when she finds out that her parents have been keeping a secret from her: she has grandparents. When Drew meets Saint, she finds in him a kindling soul because he also has survived a devastating loss in his life. Overall, I truly enjoyed reading this and I look forward to more of Drew and Saint's journey in the future!

This was a really surprising and erotic read- ahem, especially towards the end. Holy wow, Evan. But beyond that, Awakening by Elene Sallinger is essentially a story about Claire's journey to find herself as well as her freedom to love and desire. I've read plenty of BDSM books before but this was the first time that I've come across such a different kind of book. It was more emotional and heartbreaking because Claire never realized what she wanted or needed out of a man. After coming out of an "abusive" relationship, she has become a rather 'skittish' woman. But thanks to Evan, the second main character of this book, she was able to change and re-discover herself all over again.
Hmm, where do I begin? Although Evan was essential to Claire's development as a character, I was rather frustrated with him at times. Instead of trying to move on, he was stuck between the past and the present because he was never over the death of his wife. Yes, it was sad, but he was always feeling guilty and angry over his newfound feelings for Claire. This, of course, made me want to hit him over the head because he was hurting her. But besides that, Evan was really the perfect man for Claire. Instead of getting straight to the sex, they actually spent a lot of time getting to know each other before doing the deed. They were friends before they became lovers. And oh, you will be surprised at how smoking hot they are together.
In the end, I'm glad that he was able to help her throughout her self-discovery because it made him realize his true feelings for her. Claire was already falling in love with him but it broke her heart, and mine, when he rejected those feelings. Besides being emotional, Awakening was an inspirational and deeply moving read. For those of you who are fond of this genre or anything erotic romance-related, I definitely recommend and urge you to check out this book. You won't be disappointed!

I honestly never expected how erotic this read was. Sure, it's labeled as an erotic romance but damn! Dyletri is one dirty talking mofo. Please excuseI honestly never expected how erotic this read was. Sure, it's labeled as an erotic romance but damn! Dyletri is one dirty talking mofo. Please excuse my language. I can't even explain how dynamic his relationship with Ismini was. I guess you can call it lust at first sight because they were attracted to each other from the very beginning. Of course, it became love in the end.
Blood Flows Deep in the Empire is the first paranormal erotic romance from debut author N. Isabelle Blanco and it was definitely one satisfying read. It was seriously hot, sexy and I just loved Dyletri talking dirty to Ismini. Boy, did he know how to work it! Their sex scenes though. Holy smokes... I can't even. It honestly reminded me of Larissa Ione's Demonica series – which was another reason why I liked it. All of the other gods were snarky and very sarcastic towards each other so that was definitely fun.
Ismini was a very likeable heroine and there were moments where I sympathized with her. Heck, she was about to be sacrificed by her own mate in order for him to save some other woman. Yeah – Dyletri screwed up. If Ismini is not sacrificed by a certain date, then the Fates would wreak havoc on the universe. Definitely not a pretty scenerio. Thankfully, she has two very good friends besides her: Eve and Soleria. These girls are fiesty and they're very upfront of what they think is right or wrong. Ismini, Eve, and Soleria were characterized as very attractive women... and I'm sure that's true because Dyletri, Zeniel, and Ian all want to get in their pants.
Blood Flows Deep in the Empire was a very enjoyable read and I look forward to more from this author! Not to mention AGAIN that hot damn my Kindle almost caught on fire while I was reading Dyletri and Ismini's mating ritual. Anyway, I am excitedly waiting for the following books: Eve and Zeniel/Mavrak (God of Tranquility/Vengeance), Crius (God of the Underworld) and Dimithinia, Nylicia (Watcher of Destinies) and Cy (I'm pretty sure he's a seer or someone who sees the future), and Soleria and Ian (God of the Hunt).

You know that feeling when you finish a book and you feel as if someone had just punch a hole straight through your gut? Well, that's exactly how I felt when I finished Being Me.
To be honest, this was my favorite book out of the entire series. It had suspense, plenty of romance, steamy scenes, betrayal, and even a few revelations. Not only will Rebecca's "Master" be revealed in this book, readers will also get some sense of what happened to her and where she is now. But even so, while Rebecca is indeed at the forefront of the entire mystery, this sequel was more about the dynamics between Sara and Chris Merit's relationship.
The lines between love and need will soon blur for Sara and Chris. Only through trust and commitment will these two truly be able to accept one another.
Despite Chris having demons of his own, Sara also has secrets as well. Not only does it shake the foundation of their relationship, their bond also grows stronger too. Sara grows as a person and I love her for it. She makes her demands known to Chris, telling him that she wants more than what he can currently offer. Although her path almost mirrors Rebecca's in a way, Sara has Chris in her life to protect, cherish, and love her. Even though that love may end up breaking them both in the end... You can tell that their love for one another is real. The pain and need just burns right through the pages! It’s obvious that both Sara and Chris still have lots of issues in their relationship. Hopefully they will find a way to compromise and work things out. We also still have not learned the true extent of why Chris is so tortured and broken. I can't wait to find out in Revealing Us!
Getting a glimpse of Mark Compton's life was quite intriguing. Rebecca's connection with both Chris and Mark will be revealed in this book… and I'm just going to say: I knew it! If you've read Rebecca's Lost Journals, you will most likely be able to confirm who her Master is while reading Being Me. Overall, this was a fantastic sequel to If I Were You that will definitely leave you salivating for more! Ah, September will be a long wait from now.

Let me just start out by saying that I have been a fan of the Pregnancy & Passion series ever since I've read Enticed by His Forgotten Lover. TheLet me just start out by saying that I have been a fan of the Pregnancy & Passion series ever since I've read Enticed by His Forgotten Lover. The last installment however? Not so much. I was really looking forward to Cam and Pippa's story... only to be sadly disappointed. Cam had always intrigued me ever since the beginning. He was such a pessimestic guy! What happened to him?! I had expected to be "dazzled" by him and be able to empathize with his character. Sadly, I did not. As for Pippa... Wow. I wanted to strangle her at times! The author writes her off as this independent, strong, and fierce woman but all I can see is someone who is way too dependent on her friends, rash, and has a temper problem. I could not connect with her character at all. I tried to like Pippa, don't get me wrong, but I stimply could not. Cam was just too wishy-washy and Pippa demanded so much from him when he told her from the very beginning that he did not do relationships. She wants a relationship while Cam wants no strings attached. What will become of them now?
Out of all the problems that I had expected Cam to have, it was definitely not this one. We all knew that from the very beginning, Cam was the one who often frowned upon his friend's relationships with their women. (view spoiler)[Apparently the reason why is because he had lost his wife and son to some unknown reason all those years ago. (hide spoiler)] I'm not even sure if he ends up telling Pippa what exactly happened. Maybe. But I'm still confused.
Well anyway, Cam has been interested in Ashley's friend, Pippa, for quite some time. Ever since he met her at one of Devon and Ashley's housewarming parties, it's been attraction at first sight. Pippa has also been noticing Cam as well and these two hit off with sparks flying between them. They end up having a one night stand... and things take a turn. Ah, the usual type of scenario right? While reading this book, I ended up being so frustrated with these two that I'm not sure I wanted to continue. Halfway through the book, I still felt no sympathy whatsoever for Cam and Pippa. Pippa annoyed me to no end because even though she comes off as this fearless woman who's not afraid of a fight, she's so weak when it comes to Cam. Oh, and don't get my started with Cam. (view spoiler)[After finding out that Pippa was going to have a son, he starts acting all jerk-like and cold towards her. As for the reason why, it's because he feels that by having a son with Pippa, it would be like replacing the memory of the son that he had lost with his first wife. (hide spoiler)] Talk about a guy who needs to move on!
Overall, Undone by Her Tender Touch did not exactly leave me satisfied. But I'm truly happy that each and every one of the guys had their happy ever after.

Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss is most definitely my favorite out of the Pregnancy & Passion series thus far. Reading anything with unrequited loveTempted by Her Innocent Kiss is most definitely my favorite out of the Pregnancy & Passion series thus far. Reading anything with unrequited love in it has always been one of my weaknesses. I truly sympathize with Ashley in here because while Devon went into his marriage knowing it was a business arrangement with no rules saying that he should love her, Ashley whole-heartedly loves him and wanted to marry him because he the man that she chosed. This third installment by Maya Banks was heartbreaking and very emotional like the last two but I actually felt a connection in this one. (view spoiler)[I hated how Ash had to find out the truth during her honeymoon, after she got married for heaven's sake! That was really cruel. (hide spoiler)]
Ever since the beginning, we have known first hand that Devon was not marrying for love. He's marrying Ashley because of a business arrangement for his company to merge in with her father's. Only... the end result was definitely not what he expected. I honestly believe that Devon had started to fall in love with Ashley little by little without even realizing it. When she found out that their marriage wasa farce, he repeatedly told her that he never wanted to hurt her. But is lying to someone truly a way to start a relationship? No absolutely not. And when Ashley begins to change her personality to become "the perfect wife" to Devon's ideal, things take a turn for the worst.
In the end, to win back a woman's love and trust, there can only be one solution: you either grovel and beg for her forgiveness, you show her that you love her and that you can't live without her, OR you can do both! Which is why, Devon Carter wins the title for Best Grovelling so far... and you shall see! Overall, I definitely recommend this series for anyone who loves Maya Banks, drama, romance, and some good old fashion grovelling! Last but not least:

It's a story about finding self-worth and an unexpected love in a world where humans and dragons do not get along. Within that world lies our heroine, Seraphina Dombegh, who is both human and dragon. She lives in a world where humans and dragons are at peace with one another... but there is tension in the air when one of the family members of the royal court is found dead. I absolutely love Seraphina and the world that she is bound in! She is fierce, loyal, and extremely intelligent. Rachel Hartman stuns readers with her sightful imagination and world building! If you're familiar with epic fantasy books with dragons in it, you should definitely check this book out. I was fortunate enough to read this book months before it was released. Fans of this genre should not miss out the opportunity to read it once it releases this upcoming July! This is definitely a keeper for me!
One of my favorite aspect about this book was the mystery behind the murder of Prince Rufus and the blossoming romance between Seraphina and Prince Lucian Kiggs. I mean, how adorable can they be? And by that, VERY. Here's a scene that I absolutely found cute between them!
"Have you read Belondweg?" "I couldn't call myself much of a scholar if I hadn't," he said. He was so adorable and he made me smiled, but I couldn't let him see.
And can I just say how much I loved it when Kiggs slips and calls her Phina instead of Seraphina? I'm such a sap. Anyway, the mystery beind Prince Rufus' death was the main star of the book. Someone was trying the break the peace treaty between the humans and the dragons by killing the royals! And Seraphina plans to find out who.
In the end, I loved this book and the characters in it. Few of my favorites would be Orma, Seraphina's uncle and music teacher, and Princess Glisselda, Prince Lucian Kigg's fiancee. I know, shocker right? How can Seraphina and Kiggs be together now?! You'll just have to read and find out! The ending was rather bittersweet... but very hopeful at the same time. I guess it will lead us right into the sequel! It can't be the end already, can it? We'll see about that.

But in Delilah Marvelle's version of it, she writes it out as a love story between a poor American woman and a rich aristocrat who eventually loses his memory due to an accident. Forever and a Day is a story about passion, hope, revenge, and eventually happiness. It's not exactly original, but the love story does play out quite well. They both end up falling in love with each other but of course, as all love stories like this play out, the poor versus rich gap is between them. But interestingly, what's different about this book is the fact that the hero ends up giving her up for her own good. What? No, just no. I guess this is the part when things started going downhill for me because you don't give up on a woman who is willing to sacrifice everything for you.
I'm not exactly sure that you can call Georgia's "plan" for Roderick should even be called revenge. It was more of a showing up. And that's exactly what she did. She became the woman that he never expected her to accomplish. Hey, you deserved that Roderick. He was so great in the beginning because I could actually feel the pain that he was experiencing for Georgia. He loves her. Deeply. You just can't ignore that-- which is why I wanted to punch him when he broke it off with her. There's actually a background story that explains the reason why his love life was a complete disaster. For someone who loves so deeply, he would be willing to give up his happiness for the woman that he loves... so I guess I can't really blame him.
Anyway! You'll just have to find how how the story between the Lord and the Pauper turned out to be. I liked this one a lot better than her previous book, The Perfect Scandal. Of course Once Upon a Scandal will always be my favorite! Thank you NetGalley for the wonderful opportunity to review this book!...more

Although one small complaint about this book would be that it way too short! If only the author had lengthen the story and gave the couple the development that they deserved, it could have been a great historical/erotica romance novel. It's not to say that i did not "love" this book. I really liked it and Julie kind of broke my heart too because she firmly believed that she wasn't good enough for Garrett. Their romance was actually hard to believe at first... but I had to give credit to Julia/Garrett for the fact that she had known him since he was 14 years old. They had time for their relationship to grow? I'm not sure, but either way, it worked. Even if she was five years older than him.
Anywho, very intriguing quick read and I would actually be interested in reading more from this author. The scenes between the hero and heroine was extremely well-done and I loved the sensuality of it. Not to mention that Garrett talks pretty dirty... for someone from the peer. Overall, 4/5 stars!...more

Anyway, Until There Was You is Kristan Higgan's latest coI'm going to write a review just because I want to escape the horridness that is Accounting! Anyway, Until There Was You is Kristan Higgan's latest contemporary romance novel. This book... was quite different yet the entire feel and setting is totally the same. I didn't love it as much as her previous book, My One and Only, but it was really sweet and the hero is to die for! I mean who can resist a bad boy turn good named Liam Murphy? Our heroine, Posey Osterhagen, is probably one of the dorkiest and cutest that I've read from Higgans' books so far. See? They're already a match in heaven...?! Kidding aside, these two used to be the total opposites of one another. And when Liam finally realizes that he loves Posey? It's a must read for sure. And thank you NetGalley, for granting me this lovely arc when I was in the mood for a sweet story with a lovely yet cheesy ending!
Posey Osterhagen is our heroine of the story. She's your every day gal, right? Except for that fact that she's not the most beautiful girl in town, kind of plain, short, and she's actually adopted. The story starts out with her telling readers that she's used to be in love with this boy who ultimately broke her heart and never even realized it. Yes, it's another of those 'second chances at love' kind of stories and I love it. If you look at it from Posey's sixteen years old point of view... her love was tragic. The boy that she'd been crushing on was the 'God/Bad Boy' of the town, Liam Murphy, and he ended up falling in love with the town's 'Little Miss Sunshine/Good Girl' and they ended up happily ever after, right? Nope, I guess not since he's back! But it's actually more than that and we'll get to find out the real reason later on!
Liam Murphy is our hero and to be honest, I think he's the sexiest hero yet. He's a bad boy turned good due to the magical entity called 'love.' And yet, he's back in town as a widower/father to a teenager named Nichole. The moments when he tries to intefere with his daughter's social life were so hilarious! But anyway, he's back... and now it's time to face his past and live up some memories. Liam had never really thought much about Posey. She was the girl who used to crush on him... so when they meet again, he didn't exactly have any good old memories to recall with her. Well of course, until he starts noticing her lips. That changed the ball game entirely, don't you think? The side characters were all pretty amazing. I loved Jon, Posey's brother in law. Sidenote: Posey only has a brother and he's adopted as well. So brother-in-law? Haha! YES! Her brother Henry is gay and Jon and him have been married for 10 years. They're relationship is super cute and sometimes, the town tries to convert those two back to being straight.
Overall, this book was truly a stress reliever to my school days. It was cute, the characters had great depth-- even though I do have to admit that I didn't exactly feel Posey and Liam's chemistry together was that high. It was still a very good book and as always, I'm looking forward to Kristan Higgins' next book!...more

He fell in love with Fallon for ever since he met her, and she the same. The unfortunate thing about them is that they just didn't know they both had feelings for one another. It's just, at times I thought he was a super idiot for leaving Fallon hanging there in the air. I could say the same for Fallon because she was slightly unsure of everything and she didn't have enough trust for Richard. Anyway, I absolutely loved the chemistry between the two though. Roz Lee sure knows how to write some smokin' hot scenes between the two! ;)
Oh god! The things that Richard does to show Fallon he was sincere about his love for her... Wow. Can I just say wow again? I mean damn, this guy has guts and a lot of courage in order to go that far! It must means that he really loves her, even though I have to say, it must have been rather painful. Thankfully, she believed him and they both finally realize that they have loved each other ever since two years ago. Sadly, with any romance, there has to be conflict right? Well, as I've said, Fallon has an extremely TSTL moment where she seems some crazy woman draped over Richard; as a result, she assumes that Richard doesn't actually love her. My god, woman! Just trust the guy when he tells you that he has know idea what you're talking about and the fact that he is desperately in love with you. It was definitely a roller coaster of a ride... but Fallon finally saw the light and the error in her judgement. Besides, if a guy is willing to let you go for your own happiness and not his, that really says a lot.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book because the HOT love scenes between the two and the ups and downs of their romance. 4/5 stars....more

EspecWhen I first started reading Always a Temptress, I wasn't exactly sure how I felt about it. Just that I was really angry at both Kate and Harry. Especially Harry! Just because Kate apparently "betrayed" him when they were younger, he finds fault in her at everything she does. It's the usual misunderstanding where Kate believes that Harry betrayed her and he believes that she betrayed him. But the most surprising aspect of this book in the beginning was of Kate's dark secret... about her marriage to the Duke of Murther. Previously in Never a Gentleman, we knew the relationship between Kate and Harry was a special one. They hated each other, but why?
Ten years ago, Kate and Harry were the best of friends. Well, they were actually more than friends. They were both in love with one another. But because of their social status: Kate, a Duke's daughter, and Harry, the second son of a squire, Harry believed that his dream of marrying her was too high of a dream. Apparently right after, his love for Kate ended due to some unknown reason to the readers and Harry left to go to war. (view spoiler)[It turns out that Kate's father had lied to Harry, which lead him to believe that Kate had betrayed him. (hide spoiler)] Ugh. Harry why are you so stupid? Another thing that frustated me was the fact that Harry took way too long to redeem himself for Kate. In my opinion, I think Kate should have gotten someone who was much more worthy of her. Oh well!
In the end, through the twists and turns of their relationship, everything fell right into place. I liked Always a Temptress, but sadly it was not my favorite book from the Drake's Rakes series.
