From the very beginning, I have been captured by it’s story, romance, and its characters within the book. Erin Morgenstern has truly outdone herself by writing such a beautiful and heartbreaking story. Every decision made by the characters in this book are all intricated and related with one another. Like a chess game, each move can determine the winner or the loser. And in this case… the game is played between two individuals, Marco Alisdair and Celia Bowen, who are ultimately pawns in a game in which they have no choice but to continue until the very end. Anyway, READ THIS BOOK! You definitely won’t regret it!(less)

But in Delilah Marvelle's version of it, she writes it out as a love story between a poor American woman and a rich aristocrat who eventually loses his memory due to an accident. Forever and a Day is a story about passion, hope, revenge, and eventually happiness. It's not exactly original, but the love story does play out quite well. They both end up falling in love with each other but of course, as all love stories like this play out, the poor versus rich gap is between them. But interestingly, what's different about this book is the fact that the hero ends up giving her up for her own good. What? No, just no. I guess this is the part when things started going downhill for me because you don't give up on a woman who is willing to sacrifice everything for you.
I'm not exactly sure that you can call Georgia's "plan" for Roderick should even be called revenge. It was more of a showing up. And that's exactly what she did. She became the woman that he never expected her to accomplish. Hey, you deserved that Roderick. He was so great in the beginning because I could actually feel the pain that he was experiencing for Georgia. He loves her. Deeply. You just can't ignore that-- which is why I wanted to punch him when he broke it off with her. There's actually a background story that explains the reason why his love life was a complete disaster. For someone who loves so deeply, he would be willing to give up his happiness for the woman that he loves... so I guess I can't really blame him.
Anyway! You'll just have to find how how the story between the Lord and the Pauper turned out to be. I liked this one a lot better than her previous book, The Perfect Scandal. Of course Once Upon a Scandal will always be my favorite! Thank you NetGalley for the wonderful opportunity to review this book!(less)

My view of Jericho Barrons has ultimately and irrevocably changed forever after that. You would think that he is a typical heartless, sexy, and cold bastard, but no. That's not true at all. If this scene were to never have happened, I would never know what he truly felt for MacKayla Lane. I mean come on, Mac can be seriously dense sometimes! In Mac's point of view, we get a version where Barrons just leaves after he 'bruised' her. He pretty much just man-handled her, ahaha. But other than that, I really enjoyed it. It was very hot and yet... I also wanted more. Being in the mind of Barrons instead of Mac is truly intriguing.
She will never know that tonight she was mine.
Mhm, why yes Barrons. Mac has always 'been yours' ever since you met her for the first time at your bookstore. She just doesn't know it. I mean, if you've read the series... you'd probably know. If this scene were to never have happened, I would always be questioning Barrons' motives. Why does he care for Mac? Why does he want to protect her? It can't just be because she's his OOP detector!
Anyway, this concludes my rant/review. I definitely recommend this series to those that I haven't tried it yet. You'll be in for an amazing ride full of magic, action, and a slight bit of romance? ;)(less)

Some of you may think that the hero, Clevedon is cheating on his intended fiancee, Clara... but I don't think so. It was kind of obvious that all they ever felt for one another was a brotherly and sisterly type of friendship. This book had everything that I ever wanted in a historical romance novel: a witty and awesome heroine, a romance full of heart, and lots of bickering between Marcelline and Clevedon! At first, I thought that this romance was doomed between them because of their class differences and the fact that he was going to marry someone else in a couple of months... but, soon Clevedon begins to fall in love with Noirot without even realizing it! He's captivated by her appearance and personality to the point where he eventually stalks follows her back to London. Their chemistry is truly top-notch and there were some moments in the book where it broke my heart.
Besides that, I also thoroughly enjoyed the side characters: Longmore, Sophia, Leonie, and of course... Lucy! Marcelline's cute and six year old daughter. I'm betting that the next book in this series will be about Sophia and Longmore (Lady Clara's brother)! They did meet in this book and it was quite hilarious how it came about. I bet he's already infactuated/intrigued by her at this point. Anyway, I loved this book because even though Clevedon knew about Marcelline's background, he still loved her nonetheless. That's true love!(less)

I don't have a thing for lust at first sight so it was rather a bit difficult for me to believe that Kasey was already falling in love with Skyler. Their relationship was based on sex... so I was kind of confused when things were suddenly getting serious so fast! There wasn't exactly any character development and the story was very vague. Overall, decent erotica book that could have been so much better, 3/5 stars.(less)
