Whereas the first part introduces the reader to the characters and sets up the plot, the second part lets us get to the know the characters more, shows some experimentation by and growth for Madison, and amps up the action. I'd say this part is really split into two sections - a session with Logan and Troy and a date with Logan.
This part pretty much delves right into the session with Logan and Troy. Madison ends up participating a lot more than she anticipated. It's beautifully done and shows us more of how Logan thinks. I enjoyed his treatment of Troy and how he gets Madison to open up and respond. This spilled over into her next work day, where we see her with more confidence in helping her customers.
The second half of this part is Madison and Logan's first date. But this isn't a normal movie and popcorn type date as Logan introduces Madison to some more BDSM. As usual Hill is able to bring both emotion and hotness. We see Madison and Logan connect in a great way - they talk and they play.
So far Joey W. Hill in serial format is working for me. I'm adoring this story very much.

I enjoy her contemporaries and adore her paranormals. Here she gives us a contemporary serial with four parts. The first part introduces us to Madison. She has inherited her sister's lingerie shop. She's not sure if this something she actually wants to do. Can she handle a lingerie shop, especially the section dedicated to BDSM? But she promised her sister she would try it for at least a year.
We are also introduced to Logan, who owns the hardware store next door. Logan is a dominant who is willing to help her get comfortable with her submissive side, not only to help her be more comfortable selling the merchandise in her store, but to also make her comfortable with who she truly is.
So this first is mostly set up of the story and an introduction to the characters. I'm already fascinated with Logan and looking forward to where he leads Madison. Because Madison definitely needs something and she seems to know what that something is, but for some reason has never really pursued it. She's slightly frustrating. But I do look forward to her journey in the next three parts.

After reading the first part, I'm sold.
I feel like finding out you are a Russian Mafiya princess should be kind of ridiculous, but I really enjoyed this aspect of the story. I like that Natalie is really getting along with her found father and that she is not completely overwhelmed by the life change. And I like the Russia setting.
I like Natalie. Again, her being a 24 year old virgin should be ridiculous. Do we really need another story with an innocent young woman entering into a relationship with an experienced, slightly older man? In this case I'm going to say yes, yes we do. Natalie is innocent, but she's not timid or pathetic. She wants Sevastyan and she embraces that attraction. Sevastyan works for her father, was pretty much raised by him. He's very intense and violent, but smart and very loyal. He's fascinating; I want more of him. And the two of them together - smoldering and then blazing when they come together.
So, this is a serial and this first part ends pretty abruptly. But the next two parts come out in January. It's not a long wait.

On the surface, you have dominant vampires and their human servants. But it's much more complex than that. Each vampire and each human has his or her own desires and struggles. Each coupling (or tripling) is singular, seductive, and moving. I loved these characters. This book in the series was probably the most emotional for me. It truly is about finding and accepting love. And Hill is able to present it in a completely un-sappy way.
If you haven't tried this series yet and like vampire books, especially ones involving BDSM, I highly recommend you give it a shot. I haven't been let down by Hill yet. ...more

So this story is dark fantasy romance/erotica. Ava is a Thief. She devours magic, mostly through cannibalism. She keeps her hunger under control, though lately it has been getting harder and harder. She's in love with the mage, Reist. He found her living on the street and took her in at the Institute and now she works as his spy. But lately she has had to watch him fall in love with another mage and it's tearing her apart. In desperation she goes to Heyerdar. He is an Elemental, a person with old magic. Heyerdar has an interest in breaking them up too; the mage sleeping with Reist left Heyerdar for Reist. Ana and Heyerdar can use their magic together to push the two apart.
That's not the only reason these two come together, though. Thieves, like Ana, have gotten past the wards and into the city. They've already murdered a family. Ana is assigned to work with Heyerdar, as he's the Captain of the Imperial Guard, to find the killers.
Heyerdar can be quite crude. He's not always very nice to Ana, but it's obvious he's pushing Ana to see how she is being used by others and really, to be her own person. I liked these two together a lot, and couldn't wait for Ana to realize her own true feelings.
Between the sex magic and cannibalism, it's a dark story. It's very well written and the characters are fascinating. I wish there had been a bit more world building. And I found Ana's back story a little confusing. But other than that, I enjoyed this story very much. ...more

Hill's story (she's one of my favorite authors), and it did end up my favorite of the bunch, but none of the stories were disappointing. Most of the stories were M/M, with one F/F, and a M/M/F. A great collection for those looking for some holiday cheer in their BDSM.
