I liked the longer length of this story, the mystery involved, the spunky 'brattiness' of Gaby and of course, Master Marcus. You really can see Sinclair's growth as an author in this book. It's more complex, has good subplots and the characters have more depth. And of course, it's exciting that she left the door open for more stories to spin off from this one.
For me, the one thing that 'makes' Cherise's books is the way she portrays her doms. They are masterful dominant men BUT, and this is the big one for me, they are caring. We see the aftercare, the tenderness, the thinking that goes on as they try to understand the sub, the way they check the fit of the cuffs, communicate about limits and safe words, the constant watching and observing of the women in order to 'read' them and ensure the female's pleasure before their own etc
Too often in BDSM books, the men are plain and simple abusive jerks out for their own gratification. They treat the women like dirt and show no real care beyond a few platitudes that seem to be thrown in at the last minute. There's too much emphasis on the sex acts and not enough on creating characters we can actually fall in love with. Cherise Sinclair has risen above this, setting a higher standard that I only wish other BDSM authors would try to reach.
p.s. One of the other reviewers mentioned that this book seemed a bit more violent than the others. I'm not sure about that. Perhaps, but it could also be that the story is dealing with a crime and everything can't be light and fluffy or it wouldn't be as real. I will admit that the first part of the book made me feel a tad uncomfortable and I wasnt sure why but then it came to me. The female lead is uncomfortable and Sinclair is conveying this to the reader through her descriptions of the club activities as seen by that character! ...more

Stephens book. It moved me more than any other story I've read and had me living and breathing every thought and emotion that the main character had. The feelings this book evokes are so powerful and gut-wrenching that at times it was almost painful to read, yet at the same time the story line was so compelling I couldn't stop. By time the book was over, I'd cried more than I had in months.
Collision Course is truly a masterpiece and show cases exactly how good an author Stephens is. If you want to truly get into the mind of character, this is the book for you. I cannot recommend it enough! Brava S.C. Stephens! Take a bow!...more

While I'm not a big fan of love triangles, Stephens sucked me into the story despite myself with her trademark emotions and deep characters. I found myself staying up later than I should to read this, having to know how everything worked out and when the story was done, I found myself wanting more, not willing to let go of the characters just yet.

The BDSM was tastefully done and nothing too extreme that would make anyone uncomfortable. It had an interesting twist that kept me turning the pages and made the female lead unique and someone for which you could feel sympathy. I wish that had been explored further with more back story. The male lead had good potential for depth as well but it was barely skimmed upon. He is portrayed as a nice guy but that's really all we know. Part of the problem was that the story was so short and just ended - I actually turned the page expecting another chapter and that was it! For that reason alone I was tempted to give the book only 3 stars but then relented; what's there is good, there just isn't enough. True the couple are together but where does the relationship go from there? There are probably more hurdles to face, other insensitive people to encounter... Does the female lead experience any change in her 'quirk' (that's not the right word but I don't want to give it away.) What about the male lead? How does he introduce her and deal with his peers reactions etc. Maybe the author will relent and write sequel to answer some of these questions.

The part I really found appealing was the way the author dwelt on the fact that the Dom was caring for the sub, observing her carefully, looking for her pleasure over his. Some of the BDSM books I've read are a bit too violent for my taste or the Dom is just overbearing.
This author is somewhat similar to Cherise Sinclair in style, though not quite as hot as Cherise.

The plot was a bit simple and has been used before, but that didn't take away from the tale--with so many werewolf stories out there, it can be difficult to put a unique spin on the concept.
The author did put some thought and creativity into explaining how werewolf society functions, how they shift and have a natural anesthesia in their systems, why some are feral, how they are dealt with etc and I'll give her points for that. She also created a believable town and cast of likable characters. They could have been developed a bit more but given the length of the story, it was pretty good.
One area that the author could work on would be the depth of the pov. I didn't quite connect with how the main characters were feeling - their fear, excitement etc. Maybe it's just me but I felt a bit detached even during the 'big fight' at the end. I wanted to feel Rex's fear and for some reason I didn't.
On the plus side, I liked how the Vivian (female lead) didn't just fall in and agree with the whole concept of werewolves. She didn't believe in them and, when she discovered they were real, she put up a fight over how her 'reality' was being altered. I liked this much better than the bland acceptance in some stories.
Overall this was an enjoyable quick light read and I'll check out other stories by this author...more
