Permanently injured on black-ops mission, Cord Vladden is furious at the world. Then Lexi McGowen reappears in his life to nurse him back to health. Little does he guess that’s she’s about to reveal a whole new world to him, one touch at a time…
For me, this story was missing something that I really couldn't get into and probably the one that took me the longest to finish because it wasn't just absorbing me in, which is surprising since I love Shalvis's work.
The Prodigal by Rhonda Nelson (Men Out of Uniform, #6.5) **** (4 Stars)
When Rorie Beddingfield meets up with her first love, Chase Harrison, she realizes there’s no better time to find out what she’s been missing. And wow—she’s been missing a lot! Still, she’s thoroughly enjoying making up for lost time. But can she tame the battered heart of this wounded warrior…without losing hers?
This story was short and sweet. Nelson really showed Rorie and Chase's romance, their chemistry was hot and still manage to show a deep level conflict in father/son relationship. For such a short story, it packed a lot and it was done beautifully.
Packing Heat by Karen Foley ***** (5 Stars)
Megan O’Connell’s letters were the only thing that kept U.S. Marine sniper Matt Talbot sane while he was overseas. And now that he’s home, he intends to get to know Megan much better. Too bad a lot of other people have the same idea. Only it’s him they can’t seem to get enough of…
The last one by far was my favorite story in the book. I just loved Megan and Matt Story and the way they meet. I just loved the letter writing, and how both of them were already a little bit in love with each other before even meeting. ...more

They are a good and easy read, but it isn't something that I would re-read again anytime soon.

Though it was a decent read, it took forever to figure out Brandi's problem in the book, and all the slow build up just had me lose interest and the slow pace was killing me, I expect a fast and easy read, since they don't have time to build up everything compared to a full book. It was a hard to finish the story just because of the lack of interest in the characters. I liked Sebastian alot, great hero material. I was surprised that they didn't do a secondary story alongside on Brandi's sister shay.
Tantalizing **** (4 Stars)
More fast paced, getting right to the point so to speak. I loved Nick Harris and this story kept me interested enough to finish. They also had other secondary stories, of Josie's sister and Nick's grandfather which was very cute. Definitely worth a read. ...more

I didn't give the last story by Jo Leigh 4 stars because it was moving too slowly for me and for being a Harlequin and an anthology, I was expecting a quicker pace. Also, I never fully figured out the motive for the Ex-boyfriend to set heroine up with hero. It was just guesswork and I am still curious to know. Overall, worth reading!
