In fact,I thought He was very overrated, besides a few songs I heard from Him.However this book convinced me to give his music a second chance. Being raised rough with only his mother,He turned to drugs, sex, alcohol, etc to fill the void of having an absent Father. Constantly reprimanded to get his life together, before he became another statistic.
By the Grace of God,his entire life changed drastically when He encountered Jesus for the first time. Now he uses his music to get people to turn to Jesus for fulfillment.
I loved everything about this book, but the main aspect was how authentic it was. Lecrae was not a self righteous hypocrite trying get people to change their life, but a fragile person that need the same Grace we all do. Battling legalism taught him to approach people with Grace, rather than to point fingers.
Vivid testimonies, touching photos and a remarkable novel. I am a picky rater in general, but more picky with Christian based novels because of the cliches and unoriginal content. Yet this exceeded my expectations, very impressed!...more

When Quinn wakes up to find her not sleeping by her side, he assumes that she left with an explanation. Waking up by an annoying alarm clock, he thinks that she is somewhere other than her bedroom. Maybe she is in another place in the house, but no she is not seen anywhere. There is still hope when he comes across a lettter of her telling him about her departure. Many things contained in the letter may not be what he wants to hear, but the letter holds them close together.
Esther whereabouts continue to lurk around in Quinn's life, but the clue to her getaway is hidden behind those letters, the only thing that he has to do is connect the dots. Very thrilling and intriguing in this epic thriller.
Okay why the four stars? That seems to be the common question these days. This book read like a thriller so that guaranteed the four stars regardless ( hard to find thrillers these days). I love how fast paced it was, it did not have much filler to fill the page. Instead it had a lot of redemptive characters and I thought that Ester being called "My Dearest" was a nice touch to the novel. Okay yadda yadda yadda, why the four stars? Mainly cause I disliked the ending immensely, it felt very rushed and left unanswered questions.
Also I am a picky rater and I don't round thrillers (my favorite genre) to fives..you either have it all or you don't.
Nevertheless, it was a fast paced terrific read, I do plan to read more novels by Kubica....more

However that changes when her ex exposes her in a sex tape, a visual that she would never forget. Raised as a smart and intelligent girl, Caroline fears telling her Dad about all what transpired. Needless to say, she avoids talking to him about her Academics, knowing that there is a possibility that He will be disappointed with her choices. The problem is that she does not know why, West continues to feed her lies, affirming that he is not her prince charming. Yet there is something different about Caroline, she is unlike any other girl that West has met. That fact is both dangerous and appealing to him. West rough life is the reason behind all of his mood swings, but he will not let anyone see him as vulnerable. According to him, that is weak and fragile, two terms that He will never wants to use when describing his personality. Caroline gets the best out of him, now he cannot stop thinking about her, but it will cause him betraying everything that he loved the most.
Caroline and West are in for an epic ride in this fascinating novel about two opposites that fell madly in love with each other!
I have to say that this is one of the best books I read in a long time.Let's just start with the characterization, it was remarkable! There is so much background with these two characters that you are anxiously waiting to read another part of their story. West was a sympathetic guy who battled so many demons, but I loved how he was able to lay everything on the line for the sake of being with Caroline.
I don't like to compare, but this novel has similar undertones to Collen Hoover. If not the story, most definitely the character of West.
Taking my time with this novel, I soaked in all the beauty and love declarations with these two redemptive characters.
Highly recommended to all, it is romantic but with a sly twist!...more

I did not care about any character or even tried to care, since the chapters were so short. My main problem with books like this is that the chapters do not leave any room for me to show interest in the following chapters. At least be concise, this was just really boring an mundane. Where is the characterization? Where is the consistency? I just did not care at all where the story was going, just lackluster all over.
I was ' holding still' hoping that it would get better but find it redundant.

I remember the first book I read by her, Beautiful Lies. I was immediately impressed with the character of Riley, going along with the journey with her was a satisfying experience. Jones Cooper in Darkness my Old Friend was a loner who had many dark secrets. These and other unforgettable characters made a lasting impression on me. Needless to say, I devoured all of her books, all of her books besides one received four stars or higher.
Now this book? Lisa what happened? I just don't have it in me to give you one star but two. Two stars is a very fair rating, cause I really want to drop it to one. I can't though cause I love Lisa, she has always been my favorite author. I am subscribed to her newsletter, also frequently visit her website. Honestly I am just confused with what this book was about, is it a sequel to a previous book? The writing style was not even good, like it was like the manuscript was not even finished! Lisa, c'mon now, why would you start off so strong and put this out? What happened to the wonder of Crazy Love You or the magnificentIn the Blood book?
Lisa, Lisa LISA this is NOT IT! I questioned if this was the same author that I loved. The quality of the book, the forgettable ( yes forgettable) and the story was confusing.
I look forward to your next book Unger, but you REALLY disappointed me with this....more

Imagining things was his first thought, but he cannot help but notice that his visions are actually his reality. While his family wants him to stop being a loner and do things like other teens do, he becomes fascinated with knowing the history of the origin of demons, their behavior and language. Obsessed to find out that about demons, he does not have any room for anything else. To his middle aged family who graciously gives him allowance are out of options to do with him. Yet he knows that they are going to not believe anything he has to say, thus he keeps things to himself.
Losing friends in the process is something that he has to deal with. Accepting the fact that he will never confide in anyone of what he says, besides the journey that he writes in. Told in a very sentimental and haunting voice, this is a very creepy novel that grabs you from the first page and fills each page with hope intrigue and mystery.
This is a horrifying book, just the title alone is what grabbed me. Henry reminded me of Cole from The Sixth Sense. If only people relate to what he was seeing, they would understand his personality. Some scenes scared the hell out of me, do not read this at night!
Very impressed with the novel, I rounded it up to a five, but the original rating was a 4.5.

Unfortunately the opening pages were the only thing that impressed me. I will say that this book caught me by surprise cause usually I am not into historical novels with a romance element. This one was different though, mainly cause of the characterization. Needless to say, I really enjoyed the pages I read, it interested and intrigued me. Why the three stars? Cause it had too many sub plots and undeveloped characters jumping out of nowhere. I also felt that the book somewhat read like a play, so that took away the quality of the book.
Nevertheless, it was a decent read, it was not forgettable by any means....more
