I've followed along as this little family finds it's way to HEA and have to say I've adored every minute of their journey. This is probably my favourite series by Ms Yates to date...and that's saying a lot, because I always seem to end up enjoy her interesting stories and excellent writing style. :)
A quick overview : This one sees Lance, Magnus and Jakob moving to Sweden where they feel they can be more accepted as a family and simply get on with their lives together. Of course, first they have to wrap up a few issues back home; not the least of which would be the Aunt and Uncle kidnappers from hell I enjoyed booing and hissing at from book one! But even when they do make it 'home' to Sweden there are still a few bumps in the road, some settling in issues to deal with and priorities to sort out. A little brush with death does wonders of course, and we arrive at the sweet, sweet HEA.
I was already in love with these characters, this little tale just continued my love affair. The story was nicely paced with lowish angst levels and more focus on the characters finding their feet in a new environment. The satisfaction level at the end, however, was definitely a warm, snuggily sigh of contentment. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone that enjoys MM Romance. These guys just settle in the heart...all three of them...Lance, Magnus and young Jakob who I could never forget! :) ...more
Really enjoyed this one. Ms Kell's writing is really coming along in leaps and bounds! With every new book she seems to get better and better. DefinitReally enjoyed this one. Ms Kell's writing is really coming along in leaps and bounds! With every new book she seems to get better and better. Definitely double thumbs up! :) I loved the characters and story - both delightfully different and well fleshed out in this one IMO - and the HEA, while very much on the sweet, sweet side of romantic was just what I wanted for these guys. Recommended for anyone that needs a quick, feel good read that will leave you with a satisfied sigh. ...more

While not overly long (I read it in one sitting before bed) it had a nicely paced plot and good character development. I particularly liked the fact that Cari Z managed to avoid the whole insta-love temptation and gave a lovely slow build up to a good, solid relationship before plunging the reader into the real action and angst of the piece. It's not as easy as it looks, but was thoroughly well done in this story IMO. Double thumbs up too for the plot and world building. I was able to lose myself without any "Hey, wait a minute!" moments which can plaugue an ill conceived paranomal romance. I felt the author gave real thought and attention to the little details and connections in this one. Overall a great story that probably deserves more like 4.5 stars from me. I will definitely be looking into more by this author. :)...more

At the same time it is also the story of the caring and friendship that develop between them as they struggle their way through traumatic and terrifying circumstances that really impacts them all in different ways.
A quick overview: Colin survives a brutal gang rape, but his attackers are still out there and apparently not finished with him. Befriended by Dr Marc Rivers - a man struggling with a difficult, jealous partner, Bill - the three men manage to not only hide Colin, but begin the first tentative steps towards healing. When there is another attack however, Colin can no longer hide. Enter Detective Dane Keyes, himself a rape surviver, and things really start getting interesting for Colin.
Overall, I think Mr Kendrick did a great job on a really challenging story idea. The writing itself was excellent. I found the dialogue particularly well done. The characters felt very real and jumped right off the page at me in places, leaving me rooting for their HEA all the way. The plot was nicely paced and interesting. Relationship wise I thought Marc and Bill's relationship was very well done and their HEA felt good and strong. I will admit to some problems when it came to the relationship building between Colin and Dane...but I have to say their HEA was always going to be a tough call and in the end I was left quite satisfied. I'd definitely recommended this one to anyone that enjoys a good, solid MM romance...lets face it, you really get two for the price of one and both were lovely reads! :D ...more
