I read this one a year ago (Oct, maybe)... and despite this book is popular, have so many praises, I can't connect with this. I just said Mina too cold, and I can't feel her relationship with Rhys. I dunno she part of Horde, until a few chapter. Maybe when I read this one,I'm not concentrated to know about that detail. (and I can said, there's so much detail and term that make me confused)
I think maybe steampunk not my cup of tea, and like her Guardian series, I can't connect with Meljean's writing style too :(

Buku paling lebay yang gw baca tahun ini. Minanya plin plan, ngingetin ma Bella Swan, yang bingung antara Jonathan atau Dracula. Padahal pan udah nikah. Terus dulu nikahnya sama Jonathan hanya karena tunangan lalu kasihan gitu kah?
Kasian deh Mina, Jonathannya kayak gitu, ga memuaskan di ranjang (weeeks). Draculanya juga egois dan manipulatif banget. Kalo saia jadi Mina,tolak dua - duanya, dan cari pacar lagi, he he he.
Atau mending sama Van Helsing yang versi Hugh Jackman. Kan lebih keren tuh >:) (bukan yang versi bapak2 ya, hmpfh :)) )(less)

So, to sum it up, Jewels of The Sun is my less favorite of Nora Roberts's books, since its so slow and boring and things get interesting near the end. The characters don't help either. Since the heroine, Jude is too much wallowing in self pity and Aidan, even he's like Nora Robert's typical hero, he become jerk and arrogant. Even he kinda redeem himself in the end.
The good thing just the myth and because it's setting in Ireland. Kudos to Ms Roberts to make me want to go to Ireland. I want to know if that country is full of magic and well.. green everywhere.
Next to Tears of the Moon, but I don't want to have a high expectation. God know, Nora Roberts is still my favorite author(less)

My first read by this author, and I'm not impressed!
My review might be bias, since I read this when I'm so tired. But I'm got more tired with a "familiar" paranormal trope and virginity things in this book. Add it with "hero-complex" and "TSTL moment" that the heroine has, make me irritated a lot. Even I know she got her name from Bible, "Bathsheba" is a kind of weird name that make me almost giggling entire time. Next time use an easy-to-pronounce name, please!!
The savior in this book is Beau Russell. You know how to write a likable (or lickable) alpha hero, Ms Sims. But I don't know if I want to read the next book. If her Jill Myles books like this one too, maybe I'll pass it.
And after read my friend's review about her "Jessica Clare" book, called The Girl's Guide to (Man) Hunting ,that you can see at here, I will pass it too. Seems like this author just not for me.(less)

Kalau dipikir - pikir, heran kenapa banyak yang suka Twilight. Padahal bukunya yang setebal bantal itu, jauh lebih membosankan dari buku - buku sejenis macam Harry Potter dan Eragon. Walaaah, bahkan The Hunger Games sama Bartimaeus Trilogy aja yang lebih tipis, malah lebih kaya dan padat ceritanya.
Kalo dibilang romance itu genre menye-menye, gw ga setuju. Menurutku Bella adalah The Most Menye - Menye Characters. Pemujaan buta Bella sama Edward benernya juga mencerminkan remaja ababil masa kini yang begitu buta dalam memuja idola mereka. Dan Edward yang sempurna? Weleh, kalo dipikir sekali lagi sempurna dari mana yah? :/ Kalau sempurna itu berarti manjat jendela dan menyelinap ke kamar gadis yang (katanya) kau cintai,ya itu bukan sempurna. Serem euy!! Sebanding sama adegan yang di Paranormal Activity!! *ngakaks*

I totally feel sorry for the heroine and their relationship that based on lies. Why hero named Jordan always end up being douche? He angry with Devon (and later become Eden) because he thought she lied to him about her age (he think she was underage, while in fact Devon was 21. Jordan was 29 that time), said nasty things to her (call her slut, SAY WHAAAAAAAT???????), make Devon heart broken. I can said that poor little thing is delusional. Yep, 21 years age with a devil spawn as her mother, delusional is kinda a tame term *shrug*
Fast forward 7 years later, Devon become Eden, after she being raped and tortured (after Jordan angry to her). When she become the LCR operative, she met Jordan. Since the plot is about second chance, Eden who is cool, independent, I-don't-give-a-damn-and-shit, and calm, of course her heart still beating when she him. Alas, even he's in his mid thirties, Jordan still jerk. When he know that Eden is Devon (without knowing she had been raped), he once again hurt her feeling. Now, calling her whore. Gaaaah, Eden must not forgive him and make Jordan live like hell. But, because this is a romance novel, of course she do otherwise :P.
The most interesting character, actually is Noah McCall, who is Eden's boss and her savior. Now, if I can give one or two advice to Eden, she can forget Jordan and be with Noah instead. Alas, their relationship is pure business and more like brother-sister. The suspect not too good, but not bad either. There's some things that still left unsolved. I don't know if I want to read the next, but since I like Noah, I think I will try to give his book a try.(less)

Paling ngga yang bisa dikagumi dari Meyers adalah kemampuannya memulai tren YA yang semuanya cewe lebeh, suka cowo berbahaya, udah tau bahaya dideketin mulu, ada cinta segitiga, dan plot yang gampang ditebak. Dan kemampuannya mendulang duit :))
Yang aku suka dari buku ini palingan cuma adegan perang antara vampire baru bawahan Victoria sama gabungan vampir vegan plus werewolf. Selebihnya ya menye2 kayak biasanya (less)
