His question acted as a catalyst, breaking a spell that held him beguiled and her enthralled.
"What is it, Ildiko?" he asked. What do you see?"
His question acted as a catalyst, breaking a spell that held him beguiled and her enthralled. She open beneath him; not just her body. All of her. He sensed it in every part of him.
She twined her arms around his neck and tilted her head until her lips brushed the corner of his mouth. "My beautiful husband," she said. "I see a radiance."
I just realize, when it comes to a book that have so many raving reviews, I always read it too late. I know, I know, but I have my reason. Read a book where my friends praised over and over make a high expectation. And if there was a thing that I hate, it's high expectation. Because if I end up dislike the book, it's like my hope was crushed, I don't know what's wrong with me because why my friend love it but I'm not, and my world had ended.
Right, those reasons are exaggerated, lol! Reading a book with a good rating is like how to trust yourself to read it, put aside your expectation and it's not easy. But, in the end you will be glad that you give it a chance to read, even the result might be opposite.
Enough with the chit chat anyway! :)
Radiance once was a free read serial in Grace Draven's web, much more like Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews. Since I don't like to wait and often forget to read currently running serial, I'm waiting until the serial was done and its pulled into published. What pulled me at first is...the cover! Yeah, some reader maybe will find it cheesy, but I really love it. I like how the artist, Isis Souisa draw both MCs, Ildiko and Brishen in the traditional pose (aka embracing each other). But instead like what I can expect from fantasy romance or bodice ripper kind of book when the woman in the deep of throes or the man topless (haha), this cover is against them. Add it with an intriguing book blurb and I'm sold already.
It's true with what Elizabeth Hunter (one of my favorite author!) said in the blurb, because Radiance indeed break some of old tropes, especially romance in particular. Both Ildiko and Brishen are people of no importance. Ildiko is not a princess, just a niece of Gauri's king and her will-be husband is a second son even he's a prince of the neighbor kingdom Kai. Since Brishen's brother much more like Prince William, so the throne of Kai is already secure. Marriage of convenience of course is a same old - same old trope, especially when it was done for political purpose. Ildiko and Brishen supposedly to be tortured and miserable with this marriage. Yet, what happen is...again, totally opposite.
Ildiko and Brishen found that each other appearance are ugly. Ildiko think that Brishen resembled a wolfish man with skin like a dead eel and Brishen think Ildiko's pale skin remind him with a mollusk also he see her teeth make her look like a horse. Funny that this kind of difference perspective can be used as humor that make me smile. Often I read a book with marriage of convenience trope when the h/H totally despised each other, then some drama and angst that follow will make me rolling my eyes. The way Ildiko and Brishen face their marriage is so positive, it's make me already like their personality and I know that I will enjoy the rest of the story.
A hard pounding on the door warned them their private meeting was over. Brishen presented his arm to Ildiko. "Ready to get shackled, madam?"
She rested her hand in the crook of his elbow. "Try not to smile too widely, Your Highness. You'll scare the children in the crowd"
The difference between Kai and Gauri culture also written well and often hilarious. Such as Brishen who found that potato is disgusting and Ildiko who must restraint herself from puking when eating scarpatine (like some kind of insect). I will puke when eat it too, anyway. The Kai court also full of gossip and they are not friendly to Ildiko, especially Brishen's mother, Secmis. I think all women must deal with her mother in law, but this in law of Ildiko is a scary and domineering Queen, Brishen already warn Ildiko to be careful of her.
Now, let's talk about the romance part, shall we? Since romance play big part of Radiance. Ildiko and Brishen relationship start as platonic and again, this is so fresh. No, there's no sexual tension at first. Both Ildiko and Brishen were not fallen in lust for each other, since they are so revolted with their appearance. Even after married, they not consummated their marriage and Brishen respect Ildiko to do so. Their romance is slow, but sure. Draven build their relationship based on friendship and respect, and believe me, this is what I said as rare in romancelandia. Some readers who like drama and angst might be disappointed, but me? I really, really love to see when author wrote both hero and heroine as equal.
But, doesn't mean that readers will find vanilla sex or fade in black scene in Radiance. I tell you, that's soo wroooong. With platonic relationship as first, Draven slowly build the sexual tension in the middle part of the book. And when it's happen, wowza! Draven didn't disappoint. My kinky and smutty side really - really approve, lol. The scene is hot, but also full of tenderness and love. Draven sure can write a good sex scenes that can balance the heat of passion and acceptance.
From the fantasy side, I can said that Radiance fall into light fantasy. Not high, mind you, since the world building is much simpler even the names of characters, deity, culture and places can be hard to pronounce sometimes. Also no map, and one of my big pet peeves in fantasy is a map. No glossary either. The conspiracy in the Kai court also not too complicated, still easy to read and understand. Anyway, another characters also play big part, such as sha-Anhuset, Brishen's cousin who is also his commander and become protector for Ildiko. If Ildiko must face Secmis wrath, barb poison and hatred toward her, in Anhuset, she find protection, respect and friendship. Nice to read that another woman characters is not a mistress or an ex-lover that will bring more drama. There was also Sevorek, lord of Beladine that become Brishen's friend and ally, in which Brishen almost afraid that Ildiko will choose Sevorak over him. But of course, that's not happen.
Tbh, Radiance is more like an introduction to the next book, Eidolon, since I think Draven focused more into Ildiko-Brishen relationship and save the complicated part for the next from what she hinted in the epilogue. Yes, the reason why I don't give this five stars is because the last part kind of rushed. I feel that the last conflict that Ildiko-Brishen face is not too big and while the result is devastating for both parties, the conclusion is too easy for me.
Overall, Radiance is a book that can't be missed and even not 5 stars, this book is memorable for me because the characterization and how Grace Draven break so many old tropes in romance. Ildiko-Brishen easily make into my favorite couple and what happen in the end of Radiance make me can't wait to reading Eidolon. Please write faster, Ms Draven! :)
"Will you be that for me, Ildiko, " he said. "That beacon in the void?"
Ildiko's heart cracked. Loneliness had been her most constant companion, the silent shadow that hovered over her for years. If there was one thing she understood, it was the emptiness of the internal void. Her reply might not make sense to him now, but she'd explain later when they were alone.
She reached out, fingers tracing the herringbone pattern of his chainmail sleeve. "The void is vast, like the sea at night and no land in sight. I'll be the beacon, Brishen."

This is astounding, amazing, so incredibly thrilling. Only today a world travelling cabaret performing drag queen took me out for lunch and named me as his new best friend. The idea plunges my black and white world into a vibrant techni-colour rainbow
My Goodreads friends..lemme ask you somethin'...
Why are you not rec'd Painted Faces to me? :((
Alright,I know Painted Faces from a year ago when see that my GR friends gushing about this one. Their reviews so far are stellar, even there are some that think Painted Faces just okay. I'm myself was not in the mood that time. A drag queen as hero? Umm, weird. Also the NA thingie not appealed for me too. But this year I dip my toe into NA world. Some I like, some don't. One of the factor because I don't like angst, and I know that Painted Faces will have so many angst. Yet, I'm still want to try.
And glad that I did try.
Painted Faces is... a sigh-worthy book. Unusual but still beautiful love story between Nicholas Turner aka Miss Vivica Blue with the full sarcasm Freda Wilson. Their story make my heart ache and yearning. Funny that I usually avoid angst and drama like a plague. Yet, all the angst in Painted Faces gives me so many FEELZ.
I want to hug Nicholas aka Miss Vivica Blue, like Freda did. I didn't like manwhore character, but Nicholas..ahh, he did have his reason with his playboy lifestyle, and I can totally understand him. His dirty talk make me squirm, his tender heart make my heart melt, his mischief and almost childlike attitude make me smile and sometimes laugh, his harsh act to Freda because he can't accept what Freda give make me sad, and finally his redemption make me love him. He's such a complex characters. Like his painted faces, he hide his ugly past inside a strong wall and plastered fake smile while inside his heart is bleeding. Freda change all that, make him a better person in the end.
"Why did you say you didn't care about me?"
His arms tighten around my stomach and he takes me silently for a time. "Sometimes we're cruellest to the one we care about the most
Freda..now this is a girl that I want to be BFF with. She resemble me too much with her low self-esteem, her curvaceous body and her smart mouth. How can I despise here when she sometimes make a smart retort but bordering stereotype-cast, because I can see myself act exactly like her. She has so many flaws, yes. And while I'm usually irritated reading Freda's archetype in another book, surprisely I'm not now.
I aggree that L.H. Cosway have a way with words and story. Painted Faces full of cliches, I told you. But, she can make those cliches not to be same old same old. She make this book shining and unique compared to others, make me put aside the glaring tropes that seems obvious. I also love a fact that she used Dublin as the setting, and explain about the culture and people of her city through Freda's POV (even sometimes she can be too TMI). I always want to go to Dublin!.
L.H.Cosway is an author that can't be missed and if Painted Faces optioned into movie, I would love to watch it! I can totally see Lee Pace play as Nicholas/Vivica. His face is pretty, he once act as transgender and drag queen. Also his face kinda have mellow vibe but can switch to scoundrel. This book is very movie material and of course I want people to know more a beauty that is Painted Faces :)
He asks me what made him behave that way, using words he never says?
He can only think it must be love...
He asks me to kiss him like it's the final meal, kiss him like we'll die toninght...
He says that holy cow he loves my eyes...
That only now he sees the light...
He says to throw the curtains wide, that one day like this a year will see him right... ...more
I might be the minority there, because while readers like the third installment of Seattle Wolf Pack series by Kristin Miller, my rating and fe2 stars
I might be the minority there, because while readers like the third installment of Seattle Wolf Pack series by Kristin Miller, my rating and feeling are otherwise. I request So I Married a Werewolf because: 1. I enjoy Ms Miller's previous work 2. Friend to lover theme is my favorite But, the reason #2 is why this book do not work for me. I usually enjoy friend to lover theme, yet, I really despise the hero of this book. Yep, Carter and Faith, the h/H of SIMaW are best friend, but in name only. Even I can see that their relationship kinda destructive with Carter kinda boast in front of Faith about his adventure and playboy life while Faith listen him like a devoted puppy. It's obvious that Faith desired Carter, yet the jerk failed to see that. Choose to wallow in his self pity because his Luminary (aka fated mate) cheat on him then died. Talk about commitment issue.
Then, Carter ask Faith to marry him because he want to secure his chance to become detective and Faith happily obliged (even she feel hurt) because: 1. Carter will pay for Faith's lil bro tuition into Yale 2. They are BEST FRIEND
The "best friend" term mentioned over and over, and I admit that I'm rolling my eyes, because what kind of best friend those two? Carter constanly reject Faith, because beside they are just "friend", he doesn't want to be hurt again and he do not believe he has second Luminary. The main reason I dislike this book is Carter, always him. Especially when he go ballistic to Faith, think that she cheat on him while Faith just want to do business. There are two type of jerk in my romancelandia. First, is the hero become jerk but he act like that because usually the heroine is TSTL or he cared for the heroine but he just can't do it nicely. Last, is the hero become jerk but the reason beside his act make me rolling my eyes like have a bad past but do not want to let it go. Carter goes to the last category and that's why he grated my nerve, over and over.
In the other side, I like Faith. She is kinda a doormat type at first, but with the story develop, so does her confidence. I don't know why she not throw Carter's proposal of marriage to his face, because that what I will do if I'm in Faith shoes. I like that beside Faith is dog trainer, she also a blogger. She is the reason why I give SIMaW a nice 2 stars.
Sadly, the story also lack of depth. SIMaW more like contemporer romance, but with wolf. A little pack dynamic, the plot is too simple also annoying secondary characters. There are a hint of slut-shaming in the form of Paisley, Carter's ex and actually become Nate's wife (Nate is Carter's friend and rival to become detective). I'm really sad because Nate and Paisley's appearance is just like a figurant and do not have deep meaning into story. I almost hope that those two will become villain, it's will make the story interesting. Alas, they just fade into nothing in the end of the book.
If you want a light and fun paranormal romance, you might want to try this book. Just be cautious if you don't like a jerk hero.

House of the Four Winds is the first book from Mercedes Lackey (along with her co-writer James Mallory) that I'd read. The first book of On Doz3 stars
House of the Four Winds is the first book from Mercedes Lackey (along with her co-writer James Mallory) that I'd read. The first book of On Dozen Daughters, this book is pure fantasy with adventure, sea, magic, a princess who disguised herself as a man, and well, adventure. This is a book that you want to read when you are in a mood for fantasy and light read. But House of Winds is not light in world building, for the world that Lackey and Mallory created are intriguing and varied. I don't what time and place this book set, but I assume that House of Four Winds happen in so many many manyyyy times ago. Imagine Pirates of Carribean or Master and Commander.
I'm quite enjoy read this one. This book have a plus, like a heroine who never cower and enjoy her adventure. I'm wondering why the ship crew that the heroine, Clarice Swannsegard become a passengger never thought that she is a woman. Same with her close friend (who she become smitten to), Dominick Moryet. Something that bugged me is, how if Clarice is in her period and how she concealed her condition? A sea voyage often more than month, and of course she will get her period. Of course this is a mundane thing, but I'm curious how she handle it. As a woman, Clarice is not too bother with her condition, like sanity. She expect that in ship, the weather will be hot, and wow, it's like that not a big deal for her. I will not call her a Mary Sue, I praise her, but still, I feel weird, lol!
What I don't like is how Lackey and Mallory seems like to write a long, long, long narration and description. Some I enjoy, because its detail make the story rich, some just make me yawn and hope that the story will take a fast pace. Some readers said that this like a Disney romance and adventure, and well, I'm agree. But of course, Clarice is kickass and can be reasonable. The romance build slow but sure. It's clean too, so this book can be read by young readers. Just, I warn you that there were violence and gore, so read with caution, yes? :)

Last year, when I wandering through NetGalley to search for any new ARC to read, I see . The cover**spoiler alert** 4.5 stars
CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS!!
Last year, when I wandering through NetGalley to search for any new ARC to read, I see . The cover make me intrigued (because I always love a GOOD cover) and without doubt, I request it. Turn that I really enjoy it and the ending make me threat ask Ms Swank if she will write a second book. And she said, "yes" :D. So, when this early April, a mail came into my inbox and it told that I got invitation to read the next installment, I squealed in delight.
Okay, enough about me. I admit that when read the first chapter of The Curse Breaker, I kinda forget the story *hang head in shame*. Well, I read The Curse Keeper like 6 month ago, and I had read many books since then. Fortunately, it doesn't take a long time for me to catch up with Ellie Lancaster story. The story is continued from the ending of the first book, where Ellie grieved from her Daddy's death and so pissed off after Collin Dailey's betrayal. Collin is a man who is the other Curse Keeper and make Ellie's body and heart sing, so his betrayal hurt Ellie so deep.
Ellie's problem just get worse and worse when her childhood friend that happen to be a police become suspicious of her. Especially after there were so much death and murder happen in the Ellie's hometown. Add it with Collin that nowhere to seen and keep Ellie in the dark, make Ellie targeted with Okeus, a evil Croatan God that want Ellie to suffer in hell. Ellie must race with time to get Ahone's mark, so she will saved from Okeus and his evil fledgling. Lucky for her, help come in form of Dr David Preston, whose are professor of Indian Culture and Myth. Also he somehow mend Ellie's broken heart and they become close. Anyhow, so many mysteries surround Ellie, especially about her mother's dead, some antiques that make she also targeted by mafia and what the Gods, Okeus and Ahone want to do with her.
Oh, phew! Ellie seems like a busy girl, right? I almost sorry for her, because she carry too much baggage, both emotionally and physically. And I'm so pissed off toward Collin, because that man is still stubborn to not tell Ellie anything that she need to know. I know I kinda love him in first book, but in this book? Not so much.
I'm a little bit wary when see the cover of The Curse Breaker and the blurb. I'm not fans of love triangle, because the girl sometimes always choose the first man she was in love with (hello, Bella, I talk about you!). This is when I appraise Ms Swank to break the rules (kinda). She make Ellie and David's relationship to work platonically first, then escalated it into something romantic. I'm glad that the romance is not too rushed, probably because Ellie's heart still raw from what Collin did to her. What I like again is, a fact that even Collin and Ellie were tied in soul, and that Collin kinda ruined Ellie for another man, when Ellie with David, she feel like she at home. Yes, Collin make her body shattered with desire, but David offer her a home, both physical and emotional.
Thing that I see is, I love that Ellie now with David, since he's a nice guy, nerd and also charming in his own way. David is older than Collin (he's in his thirties), maybe that the reason why he's so mature and patient to Ellie. He's also British! (and ehm, I kinda imagine his voice like Benedict Cumberbatch, cough, cough!). If we see a trend in romance right now (and from many years ago), the heroine always told that she fallin for a bad boy type. Collin is rakish, he's charming and dangerous, have a shady past, even he protect Ellie with his own way, he always keep something from her. While David is more open, he do not hesitant to help Ellie, even he know he will always be number 2, compared to Collin. David is like a beta hero, but he can act as alpha, especially when it comes to Ellie's safety. He also lend his knowledge about the Croatan gods while Collin choose to hide it. I think that it's very refreshing to see Ellie choose David, because if I'm on Ellie's shoes, I will choose David over Collin. To choose a man who will make my heart feel like home.
Anyhoo, it's not that Collin become full antagonist here. He seems care to Ellie, he also admit that he fell in love with her. It just his act that make me go all "Team David!". While, near the end, what Collin do to Ellie make me stunned. And wow, I can't wait to know what happen to this triangle Ellie-David-Collin in the next book. Some scenario might happen like : (view spoiler)[ #1 Collin die. So Ellie will have her forever HEA with David. Yay! #2 David die (sob!). So Ellie will have her HEA with Collin. Well, expect some drama then #3 Both Collin and David die (on, no!). And maybe Ellie will be with Tom, a close friend of her who also the officer who suspicious of Ellie (why this one like the ending of Sookie Stackhouse series?) #4 Ellie with have both Collin and David. Yay, menage! Yay, girl power! (okay, this will most likely not happen :|) (hide spoiler)]
Put aside the romance part. The story of The Curse Breakers is fast paced and also make me frustated. But in a good way. The myth behind Croatan Gods also explored more than book #1, and we will get to know more about Ohane and Okeus, and what their plan to Ellie. Okeus himself kinda creepy, while Ohane is like "I'm holier than thou, I will not give all answer" kinda of God. What I love is how not all things seems black and white, no 100% percent evil and good. We know that Gods love to trick human, think that we are a mere plaything, and that what Ellie feel about her condition. But I see her growing, she's much much stronger now. She also believe her gut, when it comes to her heart. Her problems are plenty, yet she doesn't run and face all mystery that surround her. Told from her POV, make me can relate to her and well, it better than way rather than read 3rd POV. Even I'm intrigued to know what happen to Collin, would love to read from his POV too.
I can go on and on to tell another readers, why The Curse Breakers (and the #1 book The Curse Keepers) is a recommended read. Mix Indian myth with a kickass heroine, both heroes that will make you hard to choose to side with, suspense, mystery, and action, make The Curse Breakers as an enjoyable and satisfying read for me. And well, the cover is good too! If the publisher released the mass market paperback version, I would love to buy. Since the paperback price make me (and my wallet) cry :P.

Note: The next Curse Keepers will come out in Fall,2014. Okay, that's like 5-6 months later. I can't wait to know how the cover will be. The Curse Breaker have David standing so far from Ellie, so finger crossed that we will get he stand near her for book#3 :D (and maybe Collin too, lol!) From the title, you can guess what exactly Erin McCarthy and Kathy Love want to tell you. The Fangover is indeed a parody of The Hangover with vampireFrom the title, you can guess what exactly Erin McCarthy and Kathy Love want to tell you. The Fangover is indeed a parody of The Hangover with vampire pose as rock band and roaming the night street at Loussiana. Now, maybe you wonder if Bradley Cooper can made a sexy vampire than Robert Pattinson? I will vote for yes, and maybe Twilight will become better movie (just kidding :)) ). The Fangover follow the story of the Impalers, famous rock band with vampires as its members. They just grieve upon Johnny Malone's death. Well, Johnny decide to suicide with jumping into the sun (literally),left a note that founded by his sister, Stella Malone and fellow member Wyatt Axelrod. Sad, angry and grieve, Stella turn her sorrow by having sex with Wyatt. On Johnny ashes. Now that scene make my brow wiggling. I don't mind with steamy sex, but the first sex between Stella and Wyatt is too soon. Not to forget that Wyatt have crush on Stella for 40 years, and Stella's reaction after their sex make Wyatt.. a little bit hurt.
The Impalers then hold a wake for Johnny. That's also mean partying until you hangover by blood-induced-alcohol. Which make all hell come loose. The Impalers member don't know what happen the morning after that. Stella is nowhere to seen, the keyboardist Saxon find his forehead have cross scar on it, Drake lost his fangs, and Cort, the vocalist find he's already married with finger on his pinkie. The worst thing, they turn a human into vampire. And the (un)lucky victim is Katie Lambert, who also become Cort's wife! There's parrot that love singing Barry White's song and a priest found sleep in the bathroom. What happen in the wake actually? Why all of them can't remember anything. So, Wyatt try to find Stella, then they roaming the Bourbon street (in the night, of course) to find the answer. Cort and Katie also search the priest (who turn to be stripper in gay club), why they're married and the most important, why Cort turn Katie to become vampire. The more they search, the more confusing they had. And of course, the romance also bloom between the couples.
The Fangover is not anthology, but a full novel contain two main story about Wyatt-Stella and Cort-Katie. Erin McCarthy write about Wyatt and Kathy Love write Cort. What I like from The Fangover is, the story between that two is intertwining yet I can differ the writing style between the authors and not feel weird. I will not said they successfully make the parody of The Hangover, so some part is kind of flat for me. But they manage to hold the suspense and the mystery until the end of chapter. And add some twist in the last scene. Just a reminder, don't read the blurb of book 2, Fangs for Nothing, if you want to know what twist it is.
Even I like the heroes, I have issues with the heroines, especially Stella. I feel a little bit sad for Wyatt, since Stella's feeling is vague about him, but she using him for sex. Yes, I know they both like it, but it just my preference that the heroine at last don't play too hard when the hero said "love" to her. Both Ms McCarthy and Ms Love write steamy sex scenes, but mostly from Wyatt and Stella rather than Katie-Cort. Maybe because they already become friends for long.
If you love your paranormal romance light, fluffy and have humor, also love rockstars (or rock bands), try reading The Fangover. And don't forget to imagine Bradley Cooper as vampire. Oh, yummmm.......more

Read my review in Indonesian on my little blog here:
This book give me so many FEELING.
Firstm, I'm so ashamed to admit that recently I'm so hot headed, so stubborn for delaying to read Heart of Obsidian. WHY? Because I'm so pissed off when reading any spoiler about who The Ghost was and it spoiled my excitement when the book finally come in my hand.
But then, after reading, I keep in my mind that the core of Heart of Obsidian was not who is The Ghost?, because his real identity is no longer matter to me. Heart of Obsidian is a story about two lost souls, two wounded hearts, two broken human beings who finally pass their obstacles and do not want to give up into each other. A story about a dual cardinal Psy and also Councilor with eyes so dark like a midnight sky named Kaleb Krychek and a woman who will make him destroy the world just to see her happy, Sahara Kyriakus.
This book started so slow, and the mystery is too deep, make me confused and frustated to know what exactly going on between that two. I also deeply disturbed by Kaleb's behavior to Sahara in the first part. His dominance make me scream, make me "I don't want to read another alpha male that do not respect the heroine!", also Sahara seems like a meek woman. Yet, as the story unraveled, as we venture deep into Kaleb and Sahara's relationship and their past, all his demeanor and Sahara's act to him made sense. Made me understand Kaleb, a broken man with broken mind and soul, yet still fight for what he considered as his. Sahara too, not a damsel in distress. She seems so weak at first because of her captivity, yet in the end she show her strength. I applause Nalini for handled this sensitive (for me!) topic with grace and her beautiful writing style.
Oh, did I forget to tell you that Nalini's prose and words are so beautiful, sometimes it make your heart ache? That's what happen to me after read Heart of Obsidian. While Kaleb and Sahara's revelation of love sometimes can be too cheesy and over the top, sometimes I ached for them both. I'm jealous for Sahara, for have a man that soooo devoted to her. That Kaleb not hesitant to bring the world to its ending, tear it apart, if anything bad happen to her. Such a loyalty! Such a quality that I rarely found in romance novels that had so many overused theme, if you get my meaning.
Last, ahhh, I don't know what to said anymore, except if you not read Heart of Obsidian, READ IT ASAP! Buy your copy, or borrow it in library. If you already had it, don't make mistake like me. To neglect this book and missed a beautiful love story.
And, congrats for Heart of Obsidian to won Romantic Times Reviewers Award for Paranormal Romance category. I know that this book deserve it. Another keeper for sure!
For my early opinion and guess about this book, you can see it in this spoiler. Contain so many amused thing, I'm assured you :)
(view spoiler)[UPDATE Nalini just posted two first chapter of Heart of Obsidian, and yes, I refuse to read it. I also refuse to read the first review of HoO posted in Goodreads, since it's way to kill my joy to read the book unspoiled. Also resist to read any Nalini Singh's interview on the blog world about this book. Yep, I'm stubborn like that, lol!
But today, I can't finally resist to follow The Ghost hijacking Nalini Singh's twitter, answer some question about him. I believe he do it unwillingly and still full of secrecy. This is what I gather from his (?) tweets :
- He doesn't understand with friendship concept, even Judd and Xavier believe they are friend. - He has no family, but related to someone we have met, but the relationship is unknown by others. The relative is male. He will not answer further question about his lineage. - For him, loyalty is everything, that's why he trust Judd, because Judd loyal to his family. He will not betray Judd and Xavier (awww!) - His identity may or may not shock readers. Depend on how we see him (I will not shocked!). - He does not have tattoo (yes!) - Two characters know about his identity , one might be Judd. Since Ghost said, that man know who exactly he is. - The Ghost considered using Sienna for his plan and no, he's not related to her. He also avoid question about Arrow - The Ghost have touchy feeling about marriage (lol!), decline any marriage proposal from readers! - The Ghost is.. virgin!! (woohoo). He never had sex, but it's a tool he will use if necessary. - He had broken when he was child. - His loyalty is to a woman, and his plan seems for this woman too, a woman he met when he was broken.
Now I will imagine Benedict Cumberbatch as Ghost. Yess, he will be perfect Ghost!
Somebody, please bribe Nalini with chocolate or something sweet so she will spill some secret on this book.
Cover and title revealed!
Some speculation about this book :
The cover remind me of Star Trek Into Darkness movie poster
So, the hero might be The Ghost, with the candicate are Kaleb, Vasic or Aden (based on discussion on Nalini Singh fans Goodreads Group). Why its Ghost? There's some passage from Kiss of Snow that mention about "Obsidian" (thanks, Lulu!):
From Kiss of Snow: "That left him with the Obsidian archive. Created by the NetMind, the neosentience that was the guardian and librarian of the Net, the Obsidian archive was a backup in case the PsyNet ever suffered a catastrophic failure. The Ghost had named it Obsidian because the complexity of data within it made it all but a wall of black. Only a rare few individuals had ever realized the Obsidian archive existed. Even fewer knew how to access it."
According to one of readers, its from Kaleb's POV. So, Kaleb maybe not Ghost? I believe that Ghost is male, since the cover have man on it. Beside, based on the similarity with Star Trek movie poster (ehm, I don't know if Nalini is Trekkie or not *cough*) which there's opinion that in Star Trek (I might be wrong) the character that played by Benerdict Cumberbatch is might be anti-hero, person who regret his wrong doing and become better. So, its can be Kaleb, can be Vasic, can be Aden. OR a new person we never know of?
And I think this one will feature Psy-Psy couple, yay!
Official Blurb will be revealed in March 2013! Blurb is up!
Step into New York Times bestseller Nalini Singh’s explosive and shockingly passionate Psy- Changeling world…
A dangerous, volatile rebel, hands stained bloodred.
A woman whose very existence has been erased.
A love story so dark, it may shatter the world itself.
A deadly price that must be paid.
The day of reckoning is here.
From “the alpha author of paranormal romance” (Booklist) comes the most highly anticipated novel of her career—one that blurs the line between madness and genius, between subjugation and liberation, between the living and the dead.
Ugh, this blurb is not explain anything. But the hero become Ghost is true (and still hold possibilities between Kaleb or Vasic). And the heroine might be Alice. I mean, she had been comatose for a long time, right? (hide spoiler)]
Almost 2 years ago, I stumbled into a book that featured Paul Marron on the cover and because I stalk am a fans of him, I buy the book immediat4 stars
Almost 2 years ago, I stumbled into a book that featured Paul Marron on the cover and because I stalk am a fans of him, I buy the book immediately without checking reviews first. After ooh-ing and ahh-ing after the cover, I read it with low expectation because honestly, steampunk is not my forte (at that time). Turn that I really love Kiss of Steel, which world building kinda remind me of Trinity Blood and Blade is...yum!
But, after some times I kind of forgot my fascination with this series and I bought Heart of Iron in this early year. I don't know, both Will and Lena just not hold my interest. After I bought the book, like usual, I placed it in my book selves and then..read another book. Bad habit of mine #sigh.
Last month, when I went to vacation and back to my parent home, my friend Tantri want to borrow some of my books. She said "I want to read a steampunk book that you'd reviewed on your blog". I ask her "which one? Kristen Callihan?", which she replied "No. The other one". And I got that she want to read Kiss of Steel, which lead me to brought Heart of Iron with me on the journey back to home.
Well, enough about the babbling, because I know you want to read my review (maybe, lol! :P). It took me 4 days to finish Heart of Iron. First, because I kinda forgot Kiss of Steel's story and I got overwhelmed with the steampunk aspect that I noticed, play more larger part than the previous books. Then, the characters itself. Will, he's brooding. But, TOO BROODING!! I know, I know, if you fans of Zsadist, you will love him. But I think that somehow he's too hard to himself and the world around him, include Lena who he desired from the first time he saw her. I really tired with "I'm not worthy for you" attitude toward Lena. The first half part is basically more like this:
Lena : Will, I want you Will : No, Lena. I don't want to hurt you. Lena: Why? I play games with you because I desire you too much. Those blue bloods are paled in comparison with you Will : No, Lena. I don't want to hurt you. Lena: But you never say your reason why I can't be with you! Will : No, Lena. I don't want to hurt you. Lena: Will! I want to have sex with you! Will : I don't want to hurt you, Lena! Lemme' tell you something, but this kinda spoilerish. So (view spoiler)[Verwulven state happen because of loupe virus. And the virus transferred not just from blood contact, but from man's seed! So, even I really want to have sex with you, I just can't! (hide spoiler)] Lena: Well, even that, I still want you! Will : *runs* *brooding* *snap to everyone*
These dialogue of course not happen in this book :P. I just try to summarize a tug and pull war between Lena and Will that make me so *yaaawn*. This couple is the opposite of Honoria and Blade. And maybe that's why I like Blade, because who do not want to be chased by a handsome bloke, while Will kinda grated my nerves. Anyhooo, after Lena being threatened by humanist, a human faction that want overthrow Echelon, the blue blood royalty ( must read book 1 first to know what Echelon are), the story become interesting! And finally, after Will give up his stubborness attitued to Lena, the romance is sizzling! Ms McMaster give us a way how Lena can be with Will and those moment are heartbreaking. But also romantic...and well, hawt! Because...
Lena is virgin.. I know this is common. BUT... Will is virgin too! So, hurrah for some virgin heroes! *throw confetti*. Love that both Lena and Will are virgin (which rarely happen in my bookishlandia), but their sex still steamy and make me fanning myself :P. Also really love that despite Lena is unexperienced as Will was, she do not hesitant to take control.
The world building become more complicated, more steampunk element throw there and here, and there are new players in the town. Some are humanist, lead by the mysterious Mercury and will play important roles for the next book. Others are Scandinavians verwulven clans and there are some history and tidbits for verwulven culture and the symptoms that human will endure when the loupe virus infect them. Might be some clue that the story will be placed into Scandinavia in the future. There are also some reveal about Lena's past with blue blood and why she enter the world of Echelon as spy. And even Lena look like a damsel in distress at first, she's a survivor and a fighter. She's not TSTL too, even she's barely in her twenties (but in that era, 20 considered as adult) and know a lot about politic inside Echelon. A handy ability that will saved Will to survived in the blue blood society.
If you miss Blade and Honoria, and the rest of Whitechapel gangs, they play some roles too. There's even a happy news for Blade and Honoria, and I'm glad that Blade still himself. Still chocky and full of charm! :D Just a little bit development for Honoria and Lena's relationship, but I'm glad that they finally didn't hide secret from each other. I really hope that their brother, Charlie will have his own book. But since he's still in his teenager age, maybe need many books to read his story.
I give 3 stars for the first half part and 5 stars for the last half part, which is heartbreaking but full of romantic moment, suspense, politics, and action. The next book will be about Mercury and Jasper Lynch, the Nighthawk's captain (kinda like police) who had been introduced in Kiss of Steel (but I don't remember him). There will be battle of the sexes of course, but with a terrific also rich world building and engaging story-telling that Ms McMaster has, I know I will enjoy it :)
Will kissed her lips slightly, chasing away the questioning tone. "You know I love you," he said. Her body quivered againts his, but he pressed a finger to her lips, stalling her. " I would die for you, he told her. "I'd kill for you. I faced down mechanical squid, rampagin' humanist and lessons in ettiquette for you. I danced at a ball for you." ...more

Shame on you guys, not pushing me hard enough to read this ASAP, because I just found that On The Island is SOOOO GREAT!!
I don't mind with the long age gap between T.J. and Anna, since well, it's still acceptable. Do that age gap make Anna is cougar, to fall in love with T.J? Nope. I see why the author fast forward their time on the island to 3,5 years, because she want to show how T.J become a mature and responsible adult man. How he's finally fit when he start his relationship with Anna. Do their love is a crime? Nope. Their love is beautifully written actually. I almost cry when reading about their fight to survive on the island. And how, after they got rescued, the problem still not end yet. There, in the modern civilitization, people will not accept their love and relationship. People will see them as weird, some see with disgust. But T.J and Anna are strong. They will not let people to judge them and the time on the island had shaped them to be a better person.
I really love T.J. voice and glad Anna don't fall into TSTL heroine. Duuudee, she is so mature. Even she also has her own problem, T.J. always come first. Her fear for become older than T.J. and doesn't fit into his world, also understable. And of course T.J. have the same problem. I love the time when they had stranded on the island, but I also sad when read it. How they are rely to each other, encourage to each other, to not give up even it took 3,5 years for them to come home.
And the mention of tsunami in Indonesia make my heart hurt. I'm not there when it happen, but the disaster affect us all. I still have tears on my eyes when re-watch the report about it.
I wonder what category this book fit. Some categorized it into New Adult (which I never understand what the meaning of it). I will categorize this into contemporary romance. On the Island more like Castaway or Life of Pi (nooo, not them met FSoG!! On the Island is way way BETTER than FSOG!) but with romance. There's some coincidence with what happened to them on the island. Sometimes is not logical, sometimes I ask about it over and over. Then I stop thinking and just reading until the end. Finish it with a happy smile on my face. Happy for T.J. and Anna.
No matter what how hard your life can be, whether you stranded on the uninhibited island, whether you just have problem in your life, it is always grateful to have someone beside you. To rely, to encourage. To not give up....more

He's kinda sexist, imo. His preference of women make me gagged, since it sound so stupid! I mean, want women who is gorgeous, seems like a what stupid men do. Okay, it not that I don't want a gorgeous man for myself. But Trevor, in my eyes (and opinion) is shallow. He's not too funny like his cousin, Jason Bradford, who for his antique with food make me adore him. Yep, Trevor also have that food obsession and like others Bradfords so many restourants and food delivery banned him.
I love how Ms Mathewson write the heroine. Zoe is a plump, curvy and plain woman. Of course, it from her point of view, even after her arrangement with Trevor to become friends with benefit (aka fuck buddy) prove her otherwise. I can relate to her, since, well I have curvy body too and always struggle to lost weight. But always failed *sigh*. The other trait I love from Zoe is.. she love reading! Even I don't like book she love to read. It Twilight, guys!!! And Zoe had read it 5 times! Not that I like Twilight, but it a book that I will not bother to read twice! Enough for the nightmare.. I think :P.
Now, you know what redeem Trevor for me. It's this one :
You know what it is? You know that Trevor bought Zoe an e-reader for her!!! OMG, if only my boyfriend can do it. I mean, please, please, pretty please, just once in my lifetime, he will buy me an e-reader. I will always love him for that! I know, it so silly. But for bookworm, what a precious gift, beside books that she love to read and an e-reader? That's what happen to Trevor, he level up from level 1 (sexist pig) to level 10 (perfect hero)!
It's not that Perfection bad, but it lost a little spark that Playing for Keeps had. Also, the book 3, Checkmate not as good as Playing for Keeps. The sex still pretty steamy and make me want to fanning myself. Also, if you miss Haley and Jason from book #1, you will love to read about them and their child. I also love the epilogue, which told the story of Zoe and Trevor in 8 years later. With their DOUBLE twins. Who resemble Bradfords so much (their wicked obsessions to food)
I hope, in the book #4, Ms Mathewson will back to track and make me laughing so hard when read her new installment.
Favorite quote :
“What are you reading?”
Why did that sound familiar? It took him a minute before it came to him. “Is that the vampire series they made into a movie?” he asked. He’d heard a few good things about the books and kept meaning to buy the mp3 file so he could listen to it, but he never found the time.
“Yes, I’m reading it for the fifth time.”
He reached across the table to take the e-reader out of her hand. “I’ll take it back and get you something else—ow!” he yelped, pulling his poor battered hand away from the crazed woman.
“Mine,” she said, hugging the e-reader to her chest as she glared at him.
“But, I was just-“
“Mine,” she said more firmly.
He held up his hands in surrender. “Fine. It’s yours,” he said, secretly pleased that she liked it enough to attack him. Always a good sign when giving a woman a gift, although he couldn’t remember any of his past girlfriends, not that Zoe was his girlfriend, willing to harm him if he threatened to take a gift away from them. Not that he ever gave them anything more than a gift card for their birthday or Christmas, but still, he was taking it as a good sign.
“Thank you, I love it,” she said, sounding close to tears again. Ah hell, he’d rather have her attack him than cry.

This anthology is a collection of story about NAVY SEALs, both retired and still on mission. For a complete rundown, you can read UniquelyMoi Dhestiny's review here : http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
My short opinion and brief synopsis:
- Foreword from Robyn Carr Yes, just a foreword. But a good ones, LOL! I hope she write the story too :)
- Coming Home by Jami Alden Umm, this one have potential. A SEALs coming home to attend his mom's funeral and meet with his-ex. ALAS, the story is too short, just 3 chapter =(
- Baby I'm Back by Stephanie Bond A retired Navy whose leg was injured, then met with his childhood friend. While undergoing rehab turned out the coach is that girl. There are eight chapters, so quite a long story
-SEALED by Fates by Kylie Brant A retired SEALs who became cowboys and help the neighbor lady who was once his brother's friends. To face her former cruel stepmother and defend her child.
- Going Dark by Helen Brenna The mission in Somalia to rescue the US medical team. An officer met the girl who had left him, and she was now a prisoner. The girl asked the officer to rescue her brother, who become prisoner too.
- Finding Home by HelenKay Dimon A woman working at Erites embassy and the embassy was attacked. A NAVY SEALs rescue her, and they have stockholm syndrome (well the story is simple like that).
- SEALED with a Kiss by Cindy Gerard This is part of the Black Ops, Inc series. So I a little bit unfamiliar. This is one of my favorite story. A NAVY SEALs on their honeymoon with his wife in Republic of Palau. Surprises that had planned instead turned into a disaster.
-Panama Jack by Tara Janzen The most weird stories, IMO. Or maybe Tara Janzen's writing just not for me. Too short, but fast flow, make me confused when reading it,LOL. About a woman secret agent that working with a SEALs to secure an important object.
- Wrapped and SEALED by Leslie Kelly A SEALs remember his past, once he met a woman on the battlefield and can not forget it. Unexpectedly he met the woman while on duty to be Santa Claus at his grandmother's house!
- Worth the Risk by Elle Kennedy A SEALs went home and asked his childhood friend to travel with him, but the girl has no power to leave her ill aunt.
- Twenty One Hours by Alison Kent Forest fires requires rapid handling of fire fighting units, and one of its members who are also SEALs met his high school friends. He only had 21 hours to win her heart.
- Not Waving but Drowning by Jo Leigh A SEALs visit to his best friend ( a girl). Later they ended up lovers (simple again,LOL!)
- Her Secret Pirate by Gennita Low A SEALs assigned to rescue the daughter of an important person in the USA. Apparently it was his girlfriend's who he must rescue.
- SEALED by Fate by Marliss Melton A SEALs Team must rescue the daughter of a senator. This task is considered annoying by one of its members. But when he met with the senator's daughter, he felt they would often meet.
- Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours ... by Christie Ridgway The background is Thanksgiving and again about a rescue mission by the SEALs. An officer rescued a woman at the request of her uncle. But unfortunately they were together only briefly, because the SEALs should return to duty.
- Dog Heart by Barbara Samuel An officer SEALs and his best friend's dog fighter (who had killed), have a same condition, both are crippled. Together they try to organize their life with his ex-girlfriend try to help them. The story is quite unique, because there are elements of the animal, where we can know an animal can also fight in the battlefield (FYI, the name of the dog is Thor, remind me of Chris Hemsworth!)
- Whirlwind by Roxanne St. Claire A woman who is an eyewitness, hide from her pursuit. When the storm arrived, an unidentified man knocked on her door. The man who turns SEALs wanted an pocket watch that inherited by his grandfather's, turn its owned by that woman, while the woman race against time trying to avoid the killer.
- Holding On by Stephanie Tyler Part of Hold series. So I am again not familiar. Is arguably the "after story" type. I so want to read the original book, because it sounds interesting.
- Letters to Ellie by Loreth Anne White The saddest story in this book. A woman waiting for her fiance that MIA (missing in action) for 15 years! Suddenly, a friend of her fiance who turn up already dead, sent letters that written by her fiance. That man says that he loves her, after writing the letter to her.
My conclusion after reading this series is, how the stories has a very little variation, and everything almost the same .Although the writing style is definitely different. There is a satisfactory solution, there is also a "the story end enough here" only. I see the pattern of the story there are 4 major themes, namely whether the hero was still active or retired SEALs, the story about them after discharge or in the rescue mission, meeting with a childhood friend / past and become lovers, and the latter falls in love with a rescued aka stockholm syndrome.
What are unique and probably my favorite story are SEALED by a Kiss by Cindy Gerard, Dog's Heart by Barbara Samuel, Whirlwind by Roxanne St. Claire, Holding On by Stephanie Tyler and the story that makes me almost cry, Letters to Ellie. For other authors, overalls its okay, though not variative. Some of the stories I was also quite liked. Unfortunately the good ones are placed almost in the end of this book
Seeing the seriousness of this authors to make this book, once I think in my mind, when Indonesia romance author will make a story about our troops? If I notice, usually the story is just about everyday life, socialite life, frenetic city of Jakarta and its surroundings. But why have not find any to tell the story of our troops. Well, maybe because we not too familiar with our army, the different culture and my country's condition (corruption, etc). I'm not say US army are perfect, but if the Indonesian author wants to write about the Indonesian army forces, especially from the romance POV, well that's definitely so cool! To could see that though soldiers from another angle. And would probably make us more respect to them. Because who else does that keep our country if not the nation's army?
Well hopefully my wish that someday Indonesia romance author writing romance of our troops in Indonesia could become a reality.

Okay not so hot as Cat and Bones, but still its shocked (har, har) my smutty heart! Two clues for you :"frisk me!" and "kinky!!" Now, you got the picture, eh? :)) Crush is so much like Lock, these bears have an "unique" ability when it comes to sex ;).
BTW, is it just me or what, but I feel Bear Meets Girl is less romantic than previous. Its still crazy like always but not so much. As for steamy part, beside chapter 28, its pretty usual as always. And I don't like how Shelly Laurenston handle about Crush and Cella relationship. Okay they pretend to be couple just for Cella's aunts stop matchmaking her. And believe me, even that theme is old as rusty iron and used so many times in romancelandia, Laurenston can make it different that usual. That's the problem for me! I think like she give Cella and Crush HFN (Happily for Now), not HEA (Happily Ever After). Consider Crush said love in the last (!) epilogue and Cella, being crazy like Malone tigers, still tease him until the end.
Maybe its just me :|. And Shelly Laurenston will always be my crack when it comes to humor book. I just hope she doesn't make so many characters in her books. Cause its hard to remember who he is, who she is, or what animal he/she shifted into....more
Abby Donovan, once is famous writer who her book became "Oprah B**spoiler alert** For Review in Indonesian, you can see at here : Ren's Little Corner
Abby Donovan, once is famous writer who her book became "Oprah Book Club"'s choice, but now have a writer block. She suffer what she imagine as "one hit wonder" symptom, afraid she can't write a good book like her first, and eternally stuck at the chapter 5. Her agent then give her a Twitter account, so she can actively chat and communicate with her readers. One time, she was tweeted by someone she never know, a Twitter account with name MarkBaynard.
She then become friend with him, have a bantering discussion about American culture, always ask first what dress they wear when they're tweeted, learn about Twitter rules such as "Not follow someone who named J*st*n B*eb*r (LOL!)" and download Tweetdeck to her laptop. How MarkBaynard tell about his journey to every place and encourage Abby to continue writing again. Even its just trash, MarkBaynard doesn't want Abby to give up. And their Twitter chat (at DM,or Direct Message, since they don't want everyone know what they talking about, that make me wonder, why they not make their account private?) always ended with MarkBaynard said Goodnight, Tweetheart...
But how, if all MarkBaynard said is lies? What if Mark never go everywhere like what he always show to Abby from the picture he took? What if, in fact MarkBaynard, a retired English Professor, have a lymphoma cancer and waiting for his last breath? Maybe what Margo, Abby's friend said is true. Never believed what people said at Net. But, then what the meaning all that Tweets between Mark and Abby? Sure Abby found something because of that, right? Something like she finally continue writing her novel, even her publisher fired her. Something like finally, she will meet her Tweetheart...
Unique, cute, sad but heartwarming. All at the same time. Teresa Medeiros sure make a good story and again she show us there's a good side of technology, of Twitter which full of psy-war, porn link, piracy, snark, etc , that there are friendship and love forged in the Twitter's timeline. Readers which not familiar with Twitter will frown when read this. Indonesian readers like me, will confused when read Abby and Mark's banter about American Culture such as the movies, actors and book they tweet about. But since I'm addicted to Twitter, I still enjoy their story. How, from Mark POV, Ms Medeiros tell us to enjoy our life when we still have a time, never give up to do anything and sometimes, technology is not bad. Sometimes we can meet new people, chat with them, laugh with them, cry with them, even we never meet them. Or likely will never meet them until the end of our life.
What make me reduce the star, because I don't like the ending. How cruel Ms Medeiros to us, to give a cliffhanger ending? *sobs* But once I see her Tweets, she will continue this book, so I will hope to read more books about Abby and Mark.
Teresa Medeiros is one of author you must read, because she write any genre and all is good-written. If you search for a heart-warming story, make sure to put this book at your list

What I like and love : - The idea about weather warden and djinn really unique. I think this is 1st time I read book about djinn. There are a manual at the opening how to threat your djinn. And there are 4 kind of Weather Warden, Wind , Water, Fire and Earth, and their hierarchy is complex. - Jo's enemy. Well, didn't see that coming. Like Jo, I'm shocked when know the culprit identity. And like her too, I want to kick that people's ass, lol. - David, David, David.. Now, that's a helluva of hottie djinn. He can come in handy, the way he treated Joe, make me want to own him for my self ;-) - Lewis, Jo's friend. He never make appearance, at last for some chapter, but from what Jo said about him, his closeness with Jo, fact they have some history, make me curious. - Joanne Baldwin or Jo herself. This one is heroine who I love and hate sometimes. Well, love her strength, but sometimes irritated with her. (will explain it later)
What I doesn't like : - Sometimes Jo just keep talk and talk and talk, even when she face her enemy, jezzz (and beg!!) Why she not take action immediately rather than try to beg her enemy to free David, to not read the spell, blah, blah, blah. And when heroine take pity of herself, I want to bitch-slap her and tell her "Talk Less Do More", that what I will do to her. - The back and forth plot. Make me hard to concentrate, because for some part, the story back to the past, then back to present, then back to past again. I know it will help readers to know Jo more, but I think some "past" part is useless. - 1st POV sometimes can be blunder. Rather than enjoy the story, and expect the action, we just see the character TALK, sometimes about not too important aspect, like how fast your car, what she must eat now, etc. Too detail, IMO - I feel confused with all weather term. My bad, I think I must watching weather channel and back to high school to learn about weather, esp about clouds, storms and hurricane.
Well, with like and dislike point, I found Ill Wind is an entertaining read. There will be some surprise at the end, and I warn you, don't start the second book, Heat Stroke, if you don't read this yet, because the event is continuous from the 1st book.
And if you a romance lover (like me too), don't expect a romance at this book, even we will have some sex scene between Jo and David (and Jo with Lewis, but that's their past), not to steamy. This book is urban fantasy, and the romance part just bonus. No love triangle here, which make me grateful, since I feel Jo and David can be a promising solid couple for the next installments of this series. ...more

First read : May 2010 Re-read : May 2011... Hooo, one years later to do re-read :P Because I read this book first rather than the 1st book , Rocky Mountain Heat and I read it 3 days ago, so I do a re-read :)
First, enjoy this pic first, one of Six Pack cowboys of Six Pack Ranch
Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy ;)
Rocky Mountain Haven told the story of the middle son of Coleman's brother, Daniel Coleman. He met a woman, Beth, when he go to bar to watch his troublemaker younger twins. When he feel attraction for her, and give her his number, she suddenly disappear.
Beth Danube is a widow with 3 boys. She have an injured leg and heart, because her husband abused her physically and mentally. Fortunately for her, his husband died at accident, the accident that make her leg broken too. She already make a new life, move to Rocky Mountain, be a teacher and rented one of Coleman's house. There, she met Daniel, man that she met a months before at bar and she avoid because she's too afraid to involved with men.
Daniel want Beth, but she resist him and just want to be friend. Friend with benefit of course, because Beth is not confidence with her sexuality. She sick with monotone sexual life when she still live with her husband and Daniel voluntarily to help her. While their enganged in sexual relationship, Daniel tried to make Beth heart open to him, because he do care and love her, and help her to face her past and make a new life.
Like the first book, the story in Rocky Mountain Haven is so simple, just another life at ranch. The difference are Beth is mature woman, but with a few sexual experience and still recovered from her horrible life. The problem is usual when the heroine is widow, she will start to love again, finding a man, but afraid it will affect her life and her children. So we will see how Beth resolve her problem. Daniel is alpha, yet beta too. I don't know if he at the same age or younger than Beth, but sure he do accept her, and her children, and want to make family with her. The love scene more steamy than the first book, and it considered erotic, but it sweet, sensual and beautifully written. My problem is Beth swore a lot, for a mother, teacher and -seems to be polite- woman, in and out bed.
I would love to read more Coleman's Brother. There are 4 left, Matt, Travis, and the twins , Joel and Jesse. I'm feel sad when I know the author might be not continued this, but read at her website here :
She will reprint Rocky Mountain Heat and Rocky Mountain Haven under new publisher and expand the story! Thistle Periwinkle or Tricks, is a well known and lovable CuelThe second book of Elder Races series
Might be contain spoiler from the 1st book.
Thistle Periwinkle or Tricks, is a well known and lovable Cuelebres Enterprises Public Relationship. We first meet her at Dragon Bound , a lovely faerie with kick ass attitude. After the last event in the same book -when Dragos Cuelebre kill Urien, the Dark Fae King, because Urien harmed his mate, Pia Giovanni and their unborn child - its revealed that Tricks's real identity are Niniane Lorelle. The long lost daughter of Lorelle's family and the real heir of Dark Fae Throne. Because of that, Tricks or Niniane (ugh, she will be Tricks for me!!) must left Cuelebre Enterprises and all her Wyr friends. She must take her responsibility, to become new Queen of The Dark Fae demesne. But the situation not so easy as its seems to be. Since there are attack to Niniane by her Dark Fae cousin, forced her to left New York. Knowing this, Dragos ask to one of his Sentinel, Tiago Black Eagle the Thunderbird Wyr, to search Niniane.
Tiago, once a God, now a loyal Sentinel, never expected he will fallin' hard to the infuriating Dark Fae heir. Oh yes, they'd met, but just briefly. Now, seems like their passion rose and Tiago recognized Tricks is his Wyr mate. But, that's not just their only problem. Despite their difference, Tricks afraid. If she'd coronated, her people never accept Wyr as ruler. Not to forget that its her own people who want she dead. With all her publication ability, Tiago's protectiveness and her Wyr's friend's help, its a long journey for Niniane to become Queen of Dark Fae demesne..
First thing I want to say is..
I LOVE TIAGO!!!
Wow, he's better than Dragos! Even both have caveman attitude, but Dragos more annoying, while Tiago make me melt until I become pile of goo. Tiago is alpha, demanding, infuriating, but also caring, gentle and so tender to Tricks. He always tend to Trick's need first then him. And he's willing to not become Dragos sentinel again, rather than left Tricks, when he realized Tricks is his mate. And Tiago have a sense of humor too, not too strict as Dragos. I think its Tiago the reason I keep reading Storm's Heart. Even I need more than one week to finish read this, despite I just graduate, my BF come and I have job test (ops, must stop babbling!). The story itself are less action and too much politic talking. Tricks herself is kinda annoying here, but not so much. Sometimes she act mature, sometimes childish (what with that sowwy, phoey, ew ). Sometimes she looks regal, like a Queen who she supposed to be, sometimes she so wary, don't know what to do, don't know who she must believe. So, lucky to her, to have Tiago beside him, because he's her rock, and her foundation to face her new responsibility..
The other characters I love are Rune Ainissethai and Aryal the Harpy. I don't like Aryal at the first. She's bitchy and meanie, esp to Pia, Dragos's mate. But maybe because she can't accept the fact her boss are mated. Aryal in Storm's Heart more lighthearted and playful, maybe because she and Tricks are long friend and they know each other for a long time.Rune himself still charming, but he's worried about Tiago and Tricks future, due of their difference. Some his advice make he almost fight with Tiago, but that just because Rune care about them and don't want both Tiago and Tricks suffer with uncertain future. The last event of this book is open to Rune's story and his will-be-mate, Carling Severan, the Elder Tribunal Councillor and ruler of Vampyres demesne. Carling is a crazy-spooky woman, and she often make Tricks uncomfortable. She have an unpleasant past with Tiago, when she just a mere human. It will interesting to know more about her in the next book.
What make me sad is (view spoiler)[ Cameron, one of human cop and Trick's new friend. Why she must dead? =(.. When the real culprit held Niniane hostage, Cameron shot the culprit with Niniane's gun, and because with how Magic works in OtherLand (the reverse of Real world, land of magic), where a modern technology can't working, Niniane's gun can work but also kill the shooter in the process. I'm sad Cameron's dead. Tricks just met her for a short time and they become friend, and now she must lost her =( (hide spoiler)]
Some readers find Storm's Heart not as good as the first, but I enjoy this more. Maybe because I already know the term, the character, and the world building. Tricks and Tiago relationship are kinda like "friend-to-lover" even they rarely meet.I think maybe some readers were thinking why just now they recognized and attracted to each other. For me, its better Tricks paired with Tiago not to Rune or the other sentinel, because it will more awkward. Beside Tiago or Dr Death or walking, talking holocaust man, is yum, yum. I want him to myself!!
Elder series not "wow"ed me, but I enjoy the story and how Ms Harrison tell the story. She another author I will put in my auto-buy list. Can't wait to read Serpent's Kiss, Rune and Carling's story. For paranormal romance and urban Fantasy's lovers, Elder Races series is a series you can't be missed =)
And because Tricks said Tiago is like Dwayne Johnson..
No, I'm not Dwayne Johnson a.k.a The Rock fans, but can't imagine another men as Tiago. Beside, my friend is his fans =P["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

The second book of Brown Siblings series, featuring Brody Brown, the oldest so She was coming undone and there was nothing to do but let it happen.
The second book of Brown Siblings series, featuring Brody Brown, the oldest son, and Elise Sorenson.
I have a mix feeling about this one. Not quite good as the first book, Laid Bare . Some part are boring, with capital B. Just people talk, chat, greeting each other, have parties, like what you do to your neighbor. Elise and Brody relationship not as deep like Erin-Todd-Ben at Laid Bare. It can be understanding, since they just friend with benefit for the first, but I just feel a little connection with them.
What I love from Coming Undone is family theme at this book, both from Brody and Elise family. Like always, Brown siblings support each other and Elise parents help her to face her ex parents in laws, The Sorensons, while they try to get Elise's daughter, Rennie. Rennie herself is adorable. I don't mind with character have a child. Sometimes it can be annoying for some story, sometimes it feel natural like what Ms Dane do in Coming Undone. Rennie is cute, energetic, and chatter, you will hope to have daughter like her :).
Elise is strong woman, but she's to much blame herself, always feeling guilty, sometimes make me want to slapped her and get over it. Brody, has a bad boy vibe, pierced, tattooed, he is a tattoo artist after all, and riding a big bike. But his heart as big as the moon. He's kind of big brother do you wish to have for and a nice, caring man you want to married with.
This is what Brody must look alike, just minus tattoo ( I can't do photoshop, so I can't give it tattoo :( ) :
VROOM, VROOOM, RAWRRR!! :))
The steamy factor not too hot as the first, what make me a little bit surprise, ad not too frequent and creative (except that one when they have sex face the mirror, fyuuuh).Because well, Elise and Brody must deal with Elise issues. She live with her daughter Rennie. And of course she doesn't want her daughter know she have "intimate relationship" with Brody, even at the last they show their love and act naturally. But, fans of Erin-Todd-Ben will rejoiced, since Ms Dane write their sex scene, and I admit that is hotter than Brody-Elise do.
Brown Siblings series seems have heroine deal with their abused past, like Erin at Laid Bare, and Elise at this book. Next book is about Ella, Erin co-worker and Andrew Copeland, Ben's lil' brother. Ella is abused too, and I want to know how Andrew will heal her at Inside Out...more
The first book of Brown Sibling, featured the middle child ErinReview also posted at SER's Awesomness.
He kissed her, feeling laid bare before her.
The first book of Brown Sibling, featured the middle child Erin Brown, and her lovers, Todd Keenan and Ben Copeland.
The story begin 10 years ago.Erin Brown and Todd Keenan have a relationship when their at their twenties (Erin 24, Todd, not sure). Erin is a lady rocker while Todd just a plain cop, but Erin already have a crush for her neighbor and know Todd try to hid his true desire. Bold as you please,Erin tell Todd to release at all, but Todd always refuse it. Finally they broke up and make Erin broken heart too.
Back to present day, Todd just divorced from his wife, retired from his cop duty and start security business with Copeland Brothers, Ben and Andrew. Todd no longer like himself 10 years ago. He embrace his sexuality, to domination his partner at bed. But now he surprised to find Erin had change. Once a musician, now Erin own a cafe and have a scar, not just outside but inside her heart. Lost her child and nearly died after attacked by her stalker, Erin now become paranoid, traumatized, but more mature than 10 years before. Now its time for Todd to renew their relationship and to make Erin whole again. And this time not just Todd who love Erin, Ben, Todd's partner want Erin too, and doesn't mind share her. How they manage their "menage" or triad life in front of people and their family since its such unusual relationship? Can Erin's wound heal so she can love again, not just Todd but Ben as well? How Ben place himself, since he just a 3rd person at their life?
Laid Bare is my first Lauren Dane's book. And I enjoy this one. I read Laid Bare until 6.00 a.m this morning (wow!) and feel satisfied. This book is erotica, and I guess its will not have a plot, esp when I read some early part. Guess I'm wrong.
10 years ago, both Erin and Todd is young and they do what they want. I like Erin at this time, she confident with her sexuality, while Todd not. I expect a boring plot when they start having sex again and again, but then the story move forward to 10 years later and I'm stunned. Sure, Todd and Erin still making out, but this time, they more mature, and Todd want to heal Erin's heart. I love when no need a long time for them to say love. Sometimes I get antsy, when the hero and heroine tell love. Sometimes too early (and make me rolled my eyes).Sometimes they said it near the end and I already exhausted to wait, lol. When Todd said love to Erin, its feel natural, same when Erin finally can said it. I love how Ms Dane not forced their relationship, build it slowly but sure.
I almost cry when knowing Erin's past, when she lost her baby. How she feel depressed and defeated, lost at drug and booze. Lucky for her , she have her brothers, Brody and Adrian to drag her, to make her normal and whole again. Even when she have problem with Todd, Brody and Adrian stand for her.I love the solidity of Brown siblings, maybe because they already lost their parent when they still a child, so they protect each other.
The other part I love is Ben Copeland. Ben is bisexual,so he love men and women. He had a triad (or menage) life before. He doesn't mind sharing Erin with Todd, but he feel uncomfortable to Todd. He love Todd, not just as friend, more that that, but they already become friend for long. Erin who unite them all. Even when they'd settled, problem not always solved. At people and law's eyes, triad life is unusual, Erin can't married Todd and Ben both. So she married Todd, because Todd is her first love. This is when new problem began, how they convicted people around and their family, Ben is important for them too. Ms Dane write it so beautiful, but logical. Readers will satisfied with how Ben solved his problem.
There are some BDSM scene, but its so light. What I love is, even Todd and Ben have domination characteristic, they both gentle and caring to Erin. I don't mind alpha hero, but sometimes get irritated for them, because they act like chauvinistic pig and sometimes hurt the heroine. Ben and Todd choose to hurt themself rather than hurt Erin. They spoiled her, and who doesn't want 2 hot men to care for you in the same time?
I want to give this 5 stars, but there are some part I dislike, like sometime Ms Dane seems prolong some part, while I found its not necessary. And I think when a story almost end, there a new problem again. But overall, Laid Bare is a good story. Its not just an usual love story, its not just an usual erotica romance. Its story about family, its story about how love can heal you, how love can make you face your life even its hard, because you know you have people you love at your side.
Kudos to Ms Dane, and I can't wait to read Brody's story at Coming Undone
Note : - I really love the cover, Erin's backside tattoo is cool and great - This book have a menage scene, but there's no anal sex. Have a m/m scene but just a little (kissing)...more

WOW! I love, I heart, I fallin hard for MITCH SHAW!!! He is definitely fun and crazy alpha hero that I've ever read.I love the relationship between Mitch and Sissy Mae. From friend and then turn to be lover. They complete each other!
Mitch is my new boyfriend , and the fact that this book had Paul Marron as the model cover.. love this! XD XD
I can't write a better review, this is syndrom when I decided to give book more than 5 stars. Still so excited I can't think clear *g*
But, I'll give you some of my favorite quote :D :
- He glanced at her flat belly and asked his daily question since finding out she was pregnant with Smitty’s love child, “And how’s Mitch Junior?”
- She’d smiled up at him, those big, brown wild dog eyes of hers making him feel all protective of her, and then she’d told him, “Because, dude, you’re our karaoke king, and we worship at your altar.”
- But Sissy had a way of bringing out the “fun” side of anybody if she’d a mind to. To quote Janie Mae, “Sissy came out of my womb with her middle finger raised.”
- Sissy rubbed her face, annoyed, and Mitch answered honestly, "I'm really too lazy to try and tame anybody. If I had my way, I'd spend all day sleeping under a tree, maybe rolling out occasionally to sun my belly, and then I expect someone to bring me food. I could live like that forever!"
If you want a light and humorous read, never hesitate to read Shelly Laurenston's book ;) ...more
There so many great reviews about The Hunger Game here, so I just make a little reviews.
I want to give it just 4 stars, because Collins's writing style sometimes weird, the story pace is up and down. Then, the translation version use some Indonesian's slang that make me frowned. But I admit she is a master story teller and the last part make me applause her, so here goes 4,5! I'd buy Catching Fire , now just need to saving money to buy Mockingjay
And I'm... TEAM PEETA FTW!! Dangit. Katniss! You so... stubborn! That poor man really love you, you know :(. I can understand why Katniss doesn't want to marry, because of her condition, but... poor Peeta.
My favorite part : Katniss's song to Rue : Note : the translator do a great job to translate this part to Indonesia languange
“Deep in the meadow, hidden far away A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray Forget your woes and let your troubles lay And when it's morning again, they'll wash away Here it's safe, here it's warm Here the daisies guard you from every harm Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true Here is the place where I love you.”
Excuse me, I want to grab tissues, since I want to cry :'( *sniff*...more
First, I want to say thanks to my friend Lelyana. To lend her book to me, so I can save my money, hehe :P. And warn me to read this less than a week, which succesfully made me read this like madwoman, and end up finish it in almost 3 days.
I can do better than finish this in 3 days by the way -____-" #duh
Long time before I read this book, I often read some raving reviews about The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie. How the hero, Ian Mackenzie is special, have some like mind syndrom. Some reviews said he has Aspenger, while another friend of mine said he had ADHD. Or don't know what the right term.. err, okay!. I'm babbling. What I can said, and make me applause Jennifer Ashley is her capability to make an unique hero.
Ian is unique, the unique hero I've ever read. He's smart, can remember what he read, see, hear in the same time. He's so good with memory, obsessed with something so deeply but he's lack of social relationship. He don't want to stare into people's eyes, he can't understand when they talk together. He even don't know when someone joking. He just understand when people talk directly to him and in simple way. Poor Ian to have condition like that. While in our era, that condition are acceptable, in London near end of 19th century? Not so much. No wonder people assume he's mad.
But I'm surprised when see Ian indulged at carnal pleasure. Forgive me beforehand, I always think people that lack of social's relationship can't enjoy sex. I'm wrong, Ian act normal, except the fact he's so smart like I'd explain before.
Well, I don't want to explain his special syndrome call Aspenger. There's some reviewers that had explain it well than me. Nor than I want to tell the story, since many readers already know it. My thought about this is Ashley had a way with words. Read this book kinda like I'm watching a movie. I can easily imagined how her character act and talk. I love how she write about Mackenzies family. All are mad, all are insane, they break whatever they touch, but they all care for each other. And love Ian deeply, esp Hart Mackenzie, Duke of Kilmorgan. He seems cold, ruthless, hard, but he care for Ian. Its Hart who release Ian from the asylum. I love their last scene at the train station. When a men cry, its not mean they're meek and weak. Its mean they're strong. And Hart's love to Ian is strong.
I adore Beth too. As a widow, I love her boldness, she so aware with sexuality. I almost smile when she think why almost women at her era always think the thought to bedding their husband as a burden. Maybe because Beth no noble herself, so she's more free, and I enjoy a heroine like this. I almost irritated when she go to insvetigate about the murder case by herself. I'm affraid she will put to some "TSTL condition" when she abduct by the killer. She did of course, but it must written like that. Another Mackenzie's brother are not bad too. I will look forward to read about Cameron, and especially Mac. Why his wife, Isabella left him years ago, and how he will win her again.
One character I loathe the most maybe is Inspector Fellows. I don't know why he so hate Mackenzies so badly, why he want to hunt them, and put them in prison, esp when another murder happen, and he suspect Ian is the culprit. But after read the secret about him, his hatred to Mackenzies is clear. He will work a lot to get well with Mackenzies in the future.
The suspense in this book is well written. I can't guess who the killer of whores at High Hollborn. I almost like Beth, is it truly Ian who kill the whores, or maybe Hart that want to protect Ian? or another people? The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie have it all. A hero who you can't help to love or adore him, a strong heroine, a loyal family, a suspense and emotional read. And maybe what Beth think about Ian is true.
Ian is normal. We all have our madness. In our way.
I do not think him as Lord Ian Mackenzie, aristocratic brother of a duke and well beyond my reach; not as the Mad Mackenzie, an eccentric people stare at and whisper about. To me, he is simply Ian ~ Beth Ackerley...more

Segera baca lanjutannya Something Wicked ah :D...more
Sandra Hill is just a few author who can mix humor and erotica well. Well, at last Viking Series not too erotic. Just atRe-read, for the 3rd time *g*
Sandra Hill is just a few author who can mix humor and erotica well. Well, at last Viking Series not too erotic. Just at mild level, or steamy. The strength of her books is her capability to make reader laughs so hard, until their stomach hurt. And, that include me too...
Down and Dirty is 7th book of Viking Series 2. Featuring Viking hero/heroine who go a-Viking, correct, go time travel, from their medieval era to Modern America. Down and Dirty take place 2 years after the event at "Rough and Ready" (the 6th book) and featured Zachary Floyd, better known as Pretty Boy, and Britta Asadotir, or Britta the Big (no kidding, she really BIG, and well muscled, for a woman). Even this book is the 7th, its can be read stand alone, but better reader read the previous books, to know Pretty Boy and Britta's past relationship..
At Rough and Ready, Pretty Boy, who really have pretty face, meet Britta Asadottir, when he time travel back to Viking's Dark Age. He who always chased by woman, intrigued by Britta and chase her. Lucky (or unlucky?) for him, Britta always resist him. And after he left her and back to his time (present), his feeling to Britta always nag him, until 2 years later...
Zach (or Pretty Boy, I will use Zach for the next), found that he have a son! He never suspected, his affair with one of terrorist leader's daughter, will make him face his biggest problem ever, a child. His child, Samir Arsallah, or Samir Floyd, better known as Sammy the Snot, is really a copy of Dennis The Menace, just worse!. Zach then pray, if Britta was here, at his side, maybe she can babysit Sammy and maybe Zach can erase his nagging feeling to her...
Be careful with what you wish for, because Britta really, really travel back to modern America!! Britta who want to avoid his father evil's plan, want to marry her to his chosen jarl (or Viking lord), decide to fake her death by become demented people and fall from the cliff. But she surprised, when she suspect she already dead, she landed to SEALs's trainee field..
Wait, that's seal, sea dog! This one is SEALs..
And, destiny make her meet Zack-hairy (Zach is part of SEALs too) who she believe, had already ruin her for other men. In the other side, Britta believe, her time travel to present era, is to prepare her to face her father evil plan.So she willing to join WEALs (women version of SEALs) training, even the training so hard and left her battered, even Zach said to her to ring-out , or left the training. While she adjust herself with present culture, she must face Zach's seduction games, and more surprising, Britta who always see herself as warrior, believe she doesn't have maternal instinct, become care to Sammy, Zach's son. And Sammy want her as his mother too.
But Sammy's grandad, Arsalah, plan to kidnap Sammy and declare a war with America. When he success abduct Sammy and Britta too, Britta do her best to free Sammy, but get shot. When she open her eyes, she found herself travel back to her era, Viking's dark age!! And Zach who believe she already dead, move to Alaska and leave SEALs, because he can't endangered his son more. Separated almost 1000 years, can Britta and Zach finally united again?
Like I said at early part of review, Sandra Hill always make her readers laugh so hard. Yes, the story is silly, yes some part is like "out of this world" or unbelievable, but reader will love her books, because her capability to make a humorous story. And we will love all her characters, because they not try to be cool, they all funny, or like all Viking said, demented. Zach himself is adorable, and narciss. With his pretty face, blue eyes, blonde hair, he know women always chase him, but he meet his downfall at Britta. Britta not like an average woman. She really tall (6ft), muscled, and tomboy, not woman like, even she's not too pretty, she have a gorgeous appearance with her nearly silver hair, make her like Valkyrie. But still Zach attracted to her, like bug to a flower full of honey. Their bantered really make me laugh so hard, Zach with his cocky attitude and Britta who is clueless about present culture.Zach's family is one really funny part of this book. All of them is more than "normal", until Zach believe only he who is "normal". But as dystinctfunctional as them was, they always support Zach when he believe Britta already dead.
One point again, Sandra Hill sure can make a steamy, hot, and sensual sex scene.Woo boy, you will fan yourself when read it. But then you will laugh too, because still she include some humor at that scene.
My cast for Pretty Boy, Gabriel Aubry :
Definitely preeeettyyyy.... Forget he doesn't have blue eyes, like Zach.He can use color lens.
Read Sandra Hill's book like eating Bonbon, or popcorn. Easy to eat, but make you addicted. Like this book, fun, light, no need to thinking, but always drawn you to read and read it again.
So what you're waiting for? If you don't have, buy it ASAP.If this one at your mountzilla TBR, pick it! Search a comfortable place, open the page and.. just enjoy the show....more

It because they have 6 six pack HAWT cowboys :))(the image show just 4 hotties, hmm, never mind *waves hand*)
The story is about Jaxi, she is the closest friend of Coleman boys (there are 6 of them, Blake, Matt, Daniel, Travis, and the twins, Jesse and Joel). Jaxi dating Travis when she was 18 , but deep in her heart, she always want Blake, the oldest son, from the beginning. The problem was, Blake 10 years older than her, and he always threat her as his younger sister. Blake still like that after 3 years later when Jaxi turn 21, she is mature enough and it make she frustated. So, Jaxi planned to seduce him.
It's not that Blake don't want Jaxi. He want her, but age difference make him thinking twice to date her. When his stubborn act broke Jaxi's heart, Jaxi turn to Coleman's twins, and it's when Blake decided to "damn with age difference" and take action.
I read the second book Rocky Mountain Haven first, and forgot to read this, and because I want to read some cowboys story, why not?
The story is simple and easy to understand. I love Jaxi personalities, even she in her earlier twenties, she act mature (for her age) and she save her virginity for Blake, because she always want Blake from the beginning. Blake, oh, yes, so alpha, yet so stubborn too. There's a time I want to kick him or smack his head to make his move.
The love scene are steamy, there are sex scene on the dining table (you will not see the table the same way again, esp for Jaxi *LOL*), the erotic dance in the barn, but I love that this book is not just about sex. There's time when Blake resisted himself from making love with Jaxi and decided just to "woo"ing her (like take her to the movies, picnic, etc)
I already read 2 books in Six Pack Ranch (will re-read Rocky Mountain Haven after this) and I hope there will be more books about Coleman brothers :)...more
