Who gives a hoot if a pancake house will be built on some empty lot next to a neighborhood? Will it be Roy, a middle schooler new to his community, or the variety of other characters who all add up to making this a funny, mysterious, and enlightening story about making friends, llying, obeying rules, runaway teens, and even movie stars.
There's a kid who lives who lives outside with snakes, a policeman who worries too much, and the school's top athlete, a girl who has hidden secrets. Even though the story takes place in Florida, it's a situation that could happen anywhere. And yet it's not a story about one plot, but rather 5 situations all intertwined yet easy to follow. It's a good look at how life is full of good, bad, caring, as well as selfish individuals.
I think this could be a movie because of the characters, action, and setting are so visible. Highly recommended!
PS - It was made into a movie. Good prediction, Debbie.(less)
