This second book in the Uncharted SEALs series is a mix of romance and suspense, action and sexy insta-love. While on a mission, former SEAL Jackson Keller and his spec ops team rescue/take into custody school teacher Suri McAnally. I love a good rescue and this one is both sexy and intense. I also love a romance that takes place during a dangerous mission, which heightens the hero and heroine's emotions and speeds the relationship development up. It makes the insta-lust/insta-love a little more believable and kept me turning the pages. I didn't love the heroine as much as I would have wanted to, and didn't think that her actions always matched up with her backstory. But overall I was happy with where the story ended up and I will definitely check out more Delilah Devlin books. I'm interested in reading about the rest of this spec ops team and I'll go back and read book one in this series....more

Wealthy businessman, Mikhail Lysenko, is a sexy, moody, doesn't take no for an answer, Russian bad boy, alpha male. All things I really enjoy in a hero. Mikhail has set his sights on lawyer, Lindsay Carlisle and plans to make her his as soon as possible. The only problem is that her current client is on the opposite side of a potential business deal with the wealthy and powerful Mikhail. Despite her strong attraction to Mikhail, she knows she can't afford to get involved with him. But he is both persistent and persuasive and her walls come crumbling down sooner rather than later.
I enjoyed both of these characters and the different sides they brought out in each other. Their relationship moves fast but it feels real and honest. And when Mikhail and Lindsay give in to their attraction, they heat up the pages. There is also some suspense mixed in with their sexy romance and it amplifies Mikhail's protective and possessive side. Their intense relationship only gets stronger with each hurdle and they prove to be a very good match for one another.
I've always enjoyed Carole Mortimer's writing, and her latest books, including her Alpha series and Pursued by the Devil are sexier than ever.

This book was a breath a fresh air for me, and one I would recommend so highly. I was hooked from the first pages. It was undeniable that this book would be something special. The characters, the setting, the wonderful unknown kept me up all night reading. Everything I Left Unsaid is unique, so sexy and ultra mysterious.
What can I say about Annie and Dylan without giving anything good away? Because, trust me, you'll want to experience their relationship as it unfolds on the page, each surprising and thrilling moment. You'll feel for Annie and fall for Dylan. I admired Annie's bravery and her willingness to step outside of her box to make a real change in her life. While we get to see these two characters falling for each other, this story is also about Annie's journey as a woman and her finding herself in a world that's new and open to her.
I knew going into this book that there would be a cliffhanger ending (and I'm really glad that I knew and was ready for it), but I'll say please don't let that stop you from diving into this great story right away. Annie and Dylan's story continues in the second book, The Truth About Him, which only comes out about a month from now. This first book is a full story all on it's own, packed with secrets, passion, romance and discovery of self. I absolutely can not wait to jump back in and read more about these characters! I want to know more of Dylan's secrets, and find out how these two are going to overcome their separate battles. M. O'Keefe's writing is fantastic, drawing you in deep. I'm definitely a new fan!

"In the end it wasn't a decision. Dylan was an instinct. An urge, like a tide in my blood."
"I could feel him there in the nerve endings along my back. The hair on my neck stood up. Him. That's what every part of my body said. Him. And mine."

I really loved the first book and was looking forward to Bryce and Bronwyn's story. A Husband's Regret is full of angst, heartache, stubborn characters and hope for love at the end. This series is so unique in that it starts after the hero and heroine are married and have reached a very dark point in their relationship. Their marriages weren't perfect to start with and each story starts with a bang, throwing you into turmoil and sympathy for these characters. Bryce is an ultimate jerk hero, behaving horribly towards his wife Bronwyn, sending her running away from him. The events that unfold afterwards are heartbreaking.
Bryce was definitely over the top, and his actions were almost too much for me. I was hoping there would be a really, REALLY good reason for his behavior, otherwise I might have rolled my eyes right out of my head by the halfway point. Rest assured, there are good reasons for the way Bryce is and they made sense. I was looking forward to seeing how he would turn things around later on. I loved how Bronwyn didn't let Bryce get away with his awful treatment of her at all. She really made him work for her forgiveness, and in doing so, he was able to work out his own issues and become a better person.
I didn't love this story as much as I did the first book in the series. I thought the second half of the book dragged a bit and just made me sad, but I was glad to find a believable happy ending for these characters come the end of the book....more

I love the brother/sister's friend trope, especially when the relationship starts out in secret, which it did for Mack and Josie. I did feel like the switch from friends to lovers happened pretty instantly without much buildup, but there was no question about the chemistry between them. Mack and Josie steamed up the pages!...more

This is a hard oneI started Risk the Night excited and looking forward to a quick, hot read. Unfortunately I was left feeling a little disappointed. This is a hard one for me to rate because I love Anne Stuart's writing and her dark heroes so much, but I just didn't connect to this story. I found it hard to find qualities to like about the heroine and hero, and instead found too many things I didn't love. I really like the premise of the story, but with so few pages to play it out, there wasn't any time to settle in and really understand where these characters were coming from. One big thing that bothered me was the fact that both the hero and heroine were cheating on the person they were seeing, and didn't seem to care too much about it. What made it worse though was having it rubbed in constantly, even during intimate scenes, which ruined the mood for me. I did enjoy the sexual tension and feeling of danger to their relationship though.
Setting aside those issues, Anne Stuart is still a favourite author for me and I would pick up another of her books in a second....more
