Bite Clue, the latest in the Morganville Series, Claire, the main character has another crisis to deal with, and her boyfriend Shane is becoming a hothead yelling at everyone to the point of violence. Myrnin is throwing rocks through the portal because he doesn’t know quite understand how to text message. And just wait till you read what Eve and Michael are up too.
After ten books you would think this series would have lost some of it’s stem (and okay, so it has in a few books), but this book has it all. I love the relationship with Myrnin and Frank as well. I liked that it took on Shane’s point of view, and maybe the next one will tackle Michael or Eve, I would love to get inside their heads.
Once again I’m fully back on team Morganville, and can’t wait to read the next in the series. ...more

And just like the other five books, this one delivers, having you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.
Last Sacrifice, continues where the last book left off, after Rose’s arrest. You get to follow Rose as she tries to clear her name, and solve the mystery of the Queen’s note to her. You also get to go along with her as she uses her bond to watch Lisa, her best friend, as she goes through the trials of becoming the next queen. Christian is really sweet in this one too, a little sad that there wasn't more of him.
Wow. When you find out who killed the queen and framed Rose. Wow. I could not believe it!
Added bonus: A lot of Dimitri!!! The only downside is that you don’t really know what happens with Eddie.
An excellent read, you won’t be disappointed, I’d give it 10 thumbs up, but I only have two thumbs! Can’t wait for the spin-off series. ...more

Though both series (Chicagoland Vampire series and Dark Elite; both by Neill) are both set in Chicago, and both deal with the supernatural, it’s still amazing how Chloe Neill makes the books so different from each other.
Lily Parker is the main character who finds out she has magic powers after being hit with Firespell in the first book. Her best friend is Scout, spellbinder, who is also an Adept (one of the good power kids) In Hexbound Lily (who has firespell) has joined the Adepts which include Scout’s crush Michael, and Lily’s boyfriend Jason. Michael has power to read buildings, Jason is a werewolf. The enemies of the Adepts are the Reapers. The main one that keeps popping up (but isn’t the supreme bad guy) is Sebastian.
Hexbound takes you further into the lives of the underground crime fighters, as well as digging deeper into Lily’s parent’s lives. The relationships grow, and the only thing I have complaints in that department is that the Lily/Jason thing is so unclear for most of the book, are they together or not? They kiss and whatnot sure, but they haven’t been on a date and Lily still acts like they aren’t together. But you get to learn more about Jason which is nice. And equally nice you get to see more of Sebastian.
Hexbound takes you into the tunnels to battle new evil, and lands the gang in the middle of a vampire turf war. More St. Sophia Brat Pack, and more importantly more interaction between Scout and Lily, because they always have kick-ass friendship chemistry. Another beautiful cover as well. An excellent read, the only down side is having to wait so long for the next installment to come out. ...more
