People seem to like to nitpick these books to pieces, but I found them to be a great story and well worth the read. This might have been the best book in this world since the first one.
The characters have some depth and feelings, but we get just enough of it to feel like they have been fleshed out, and the story doesnt stop while we have to hear endless whining about how hard life is, and how they have no helmet to help them cope. Kim Harrison comes to mind as an example of the endlessly whining characters. If I never read about poor Morgan's curly hair, or how she loves the vampire but wont sex her up - despite a long rambling passage about how sexy she finds her - it will not hurt my feelings at all...
I dont know if it is the change of scenery to the new world, or just how long it has been since one of these came out - but this kept my attention from start to finish. This one was much lighter on sex than most of the previous ones, but the story was so good it did not seem to take away from my overall enjoyment....more
