Houston and Hallie were such a disappointment in so many ways. I felt like either of them really cared about Rory. That being said I want to see this to the end. So I will read the next book. I hope it will be better. Rory deserves better from the people around her. She should not be a guest in her own life. Everyone in her life seems to want to protect or shield her by lying. She is not weak or fragile but everyone treat her that way. Rory believes in truth and honesty but no one gives her that. She should cut everyone loose and start her life anew....more

This book is great. I loved catching up with the Callahan family. Ethan is a great character with the perfect blend of his parents. But the wonderful and great surprise of this book is Ivy. She is Mel 2.0. I just love her and her with Ethan. This book has it all love, drama, family and violence. I can't wait for Dona and Wyatt's books. This series is golden....more

I liked the main character Dani and her love interest Jonah. But the rest of the characters sucked. Mainly the main character's family and ex boyfriend. I keep trying with this author and books outside the Fallen Crest Series. But none of them have been as good. This book was just bad soap opera.
*Spoiler Alert Below*
Everyone in this small town loves Dani's ex Jake who breakup with her for her younger sister. And than got engaged to the older sister. Can I just say how much I HATE when authors try to make it okay to be betrayed by friends and/or family. How the one betrayed has to rise above and be so forgiving. Everyone in Dani's family told her to either get over it, made excuses or said they were not sorry. Dani's family is full of secrets and liars. I felt like she should have left town after she learned of her family secrets and came to terms with her past. Her loved interest was okay but you never got to really know him. The book was so incomplete to me. You only got a portion of what Dani did for ten years. I wanted to know more of that. You don't get a clear picture of the ex Jake. Nothing about his family. Just that his likes all three of the O'Hara sisters. Let me also say how desperate and sad Dani's family is. Three generation of women with low self esteem. The grandmother having 3 children with her best friend's husband. Who does that? Dani's mother almost started dating her half brother because of the secrets and lies. Dani's mother is no better having her 3 children with a married man which her sister is also in love with. Because of this fact Dani's mom and aunt never got along. So much so that the aunt hated and mistreated Dani because she looked just like her mom. This book was a joke and a waste of my time. If not for Fallen Crest series I would break up with this author here and now
