OK, so there a few reasons I am in love with this book and will admittedly be a little biased:
- I love football! All kinds, PeeWee, Powder Puff, High School, College, Pros. I come from a huge football family. My favorite player is Joe Montana, and the 49ers will be my team until the day I die. So, football in San Francisco is so much fun to read about. And the fictional team in the book actually had a great season, GO SABERS!!
- I was born and raised in the East Bay and met my husband in Concord! How cool is that! Lots of books I've read are based out of San Francisco, but none so close to home.
- I was one of those girls who dreamed about dating the star quarterback. My adolescent fairytale come true.
I begurdingly paid the $9.99 kindle price (ouch!) hoping my love for football & romance would prevail and they did. I've found a new author! I've found a new author! I am going to go get more Jaci Burton books (hopefully less expensive) and read to my hearts content. If you want a great love story and steamy bedroom (and beach) scenes, pay the $10, you will not be disappointed!...more
"Well you came and you gave without taking, but I sent you away, oh Manny. Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking I need you today, oh Manny!""Well you came and you gave without taking, but I sent you away, oh Manny. Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking I need you today, oh Manny!"
Oh wait, that's 'Mandy' . . . whatever! He's the real Handy Manny, ok?!?
Man, I love me some Manny! The book was sooo long, and I have dishes and laundry to catch up on, but it was worth the sacrifices. And Payne!! What a fabulous mix of vulnerable, soft, fierce, and loyal. She is my hero, she kicks ass!! Payne is my fav shellan and JM is my fav brother, offically!!
However, I think Lover Unleashed should unofficially be referred to as the PMVJ book. That's Payne Manny Vishous Jane, BTDub. There was as much V & Jane as there was P & Manny. Hold your curses, ladies! It's not a bad thing, NOT at ALL! There is something about V that enthralls me. He is so proud and broken and SXHEXY as hell. And Jane, the ever faithful ghost trying to save her hellren from the unthinkable setting in motion a chain of events that will forever change the Brotherhood. Enter Butch, and it just a pop-some-corn-and-get-settled-for-an-awesome-show kinda thing!
There is so much in this book that it would take me WAY to long to write a proper review. Nevertheless, I will, but tomorrow, I'm tired. The book was great, worth the read. If you are a Brotherhood fan, you probably already read it, and I will check out your reviews tomorrow. I do have a urge to try Lagavulin, for some strange reason! Any theories? haha, ok I've gotta get some sleep, right now! On that note I leave you with a little literary algebra:
(Up/Downs + faux-ghetto metaphors)(muy caliente vamps + ass kickin + GREAT sex scenes) = J.R. Ward...more

I absolutely loved this book. The emotional aspect was remarkable. I haven't cried so much in a long time. I was pulling for a happy ending hoping the H/h would just put the past aside, unload their baggage and let love in. On top of all that the sensual side of the story was breathtaking. I did not have to wait long until they were heating the sheets. I think that was a tactical move so the reader could focus more on the emotional bond that needed to be built! This was my first read by Sherry Thomas and it will not be my last! You can find this review and many others on my blog FairytaleFloozy!...more
