I also enjoyed the first book I read from this author, so I was looking forward to getting this one!
If I could, I would rate this 3.5 stars (curse you, GR rating system!) I thought the last third of the book was much stronger than the beginning. I liked that the way that Adrian and Tyrel became fated mates was unique and different that just a typical bite on the neck. I enjoyed them getting to know each other, all the dragon "magic" and the mpreg itself.
I will say that it took me a while to warm up to them as a couple, I think due to the nature of Adrian having to compete with others to be the baby-maker. It made it harder for me to buy into the attraction between the two MCs at first I think, but I was on board by the end. And I felt that there was some unevenness to his brother (pay the bills! I'm gonna be an uncle! I never knew if he was genuine closer to the end) and with everything going on with Tyrel's family...for me as a reader, it made it feel a bit jumbled there in the middle.
I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author, I think a second book in her Mercy Hills Pack series is next! I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review....more
I don't want to say too much and give anything major away without being behind a spoiler cut. So, I will say here that I LOVED HTHIS WAS SOOOOOO GOOD!
I don't want to say too much and give anything major away without being behind a spoiler cut. So, I will say here that I LOVED Hannah, Joshua, and Mattheu together. I loved them separately, coming together, and all their interactions throughout this story. I've been interested in Joshua's story ever since he started being all Benjamin Button, and I think he got perfect mates and a second chance at love.
And don't click spoiler if you don't want the surprise to be ruined, but - (view spoiler)[I had started suspecting that Hannah was not biologically just a female (and I don't want to say this wrong, but I don't know the best, most polite and PC way to phrase that, so no offense is meant!) and I had guessed at first that maybe she was a transgendered character, but I love what Kelex did here with her being an intersex character. I thought it was so different that her bear is male and she is female, so she was just both. And I LOVED That for Joshua and Mattheu that was not a problem at ALL. (hide spoiler)]
I thought this book was fresh, completely helped to get some new life into the series (lots of new characters for the next few stories!) and also brought some great new conflict into the series. I'm definitely interested to see what will happen next.
Also? Loved Graham in this and what's up with him (I love how embarrassed he was at first haha), and I can't wait for whoever's story is next! Logan? Will (I kinda love the deer shifters)? Ronan or another of the McCreary boys? AHHH I LOVE this series! ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

This one I'll rate 3.5 stars, rounded up, since I really loved the second half of this book.
I enjoyed reading this one, I loved the dynamics and the drama within the band, and I loved reading about Blake and Cal reconnecting. I will say, I wish there had been more explanation or maybe even the actual flashbacks about their first time together and what was the final straw that led to the breakup and the band changing so much. It was hard to feel for them since it all felt brand new, we didn't get that time when they were together the first time around. It seemed so easy for them to fall back into old routines.
Also? Why do her books always have the "prologue" as the first sex scene or first kiss or something? It just seems unnecessary haha
I'm enjoying her latests books, they have less unnecessary melodrama and misunderstandings, and more mature characters.
I received this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. ...more
WOW. I just LOVE this series, but Marcus and his men are my most favorite, and I just loved getting more of their story!
I loved Marcus, how great heWOW. I just LOVE this series, but Marcus and his men are my most favorite, and I just loved getting more of their story!
I loved Marcus, how great he is as an alpha leader, and wanting to do everything right for his pack and his men. How he was with Nate, Ricoh, and Kellan...I love everything that each person brings to the relationship, I adore them all together, and getting their time with Marcus separately. All of their feelings of doubt, unsure if they belong, just made me feel for them even more.
Very sweet, sexy, lots of action and suspense, and I just can't WAIT for the third book in this series! (and also to find out who the final set of 3 books will be about)
I definitely recommend this series, but you should start with the first one since they all build on one another. ...more
