This story is a perfect blend of mystery and paranormal. The setting was the perfect backdrop to this hauntingly beautiful story. I was drawn in to the story from the first page and was constantly surprised. Just as I thought I knew what or who was behind everything something happened to throw me off. The author did a great job of giving small hints and clues throughout the story without giving away the entire mystery.
The romance was sweet and not too overdone. There was just enough to keep me interested without completely taking over the story. I also liked how it gradually built throughout the story instead of just being thrown out there. The characters weren't instantly in love instead they slowly came to know one another and became friends. I can't wait to see how their relationship progresses in the rest of the series.
Chira is an outcast and is not used to hanging around anyone other than her best friend Tasha. That is until she strikes up a a small friendship with the new boy Ben. She is a smart, loyal, and brave young woman that I enjoyed getting to know. I also liked seeing the growth in her character throughout the book. She started out as a bit of a loner, throwing up guards to keep people out. However by the end she had finally ventured out and gained friendships that she had never thought would happen.
Ben is an unusual, but very intriguing boy who has a very kind heart. He is very sweet and a bit shy, but once you get to know him he can be very charming. I enjoyed the banter between him and Chira they really knew how to make each other smile even when they were teasing each other. Ben also has a dark secret one that he doesn't like to talk about, but even so he does his best to try to protect people. He is a bit misunderstood, but it was so easy to fall in love with his adorable self.
Matt is Ben's cousin and the last to join their little group. It was a bit tense with him and Chira at first, but with his carefree attitude and easy jokes it's hard not to smile around Matt. We don't get yo see as much about Matt In this book, but I do hope to see more about him in future ones.
This is an exciting start to a promising new series and I highly recommend it to fans of mystery, suspense, and the paranormal!(less)

What better setting for a sexy shifter romance than the city of sin itself. Apart from the romance I find the creatures that shifters fight such as goblins and leprachauns an exciting addition to this fun series. The author has their own spin on these creatures and even the shifters themselves that make them unique. While I love the bit of action we get to see, the thing that really makes these books shine is the amount of drama and sexy shifters that get packed into the pages.
The heroine Jezebel is a very relatable character. She is not perfect by any means, but rather than dwell on this fact she does her best to live life to the fullest. She also doesn't let the ignorance of others get her down. I really admire her kindness and courage so it is easy to see how Brandon could so easily fall for her. The best part was getting to see the growth in Jezebel throughout the book. At first she was a bit insecure and although she didn't take crap from anyone else she still didn't believe she would ever deserve someone like Brandon. By the end she knew that she deserved all that and more just like everyone else and let those who said otherwise know it. I couldn't have been more proud.
Brandon is a sweet and patient man who knew what he wanted and went after it. I loved how caring he was and that he always let Jezebel know how beautiful she was and never let her get down on herself. He cherished and protected her, what more could a woman want. He wasn't perfect by any means, but a bit of growly possessiveness from your very on alpha isn't so bad.
The heat rating on this book is through the roof and if a smokin hot romance is what your after look no further than "Jezebel's Lion".
Also be sure to check out the first book in the Sin City Shifters

The premise of this story was unique and interesting. I was expecting the usual mermaids like ariel with fins and beautiful unrealistic hair. Well maybe the hair stayed true, but instead of being fish like these mer people were actually more humanoid. It was actually an interesting new take on the way they usually portray them. Their world was really beautifully described and I really enjoyed learning about how this world worked. I do wish that we got to see more of it. Hopefully there will be a sequel that will allow me to return to this world.
I liked getting to know the different characters and even came to love a few of them.
Miranda is a calm and level headed heroine who has had a rough past. She is very kind and loving, but has been hurt too much in the past by the loss of loved ones and is afraid to open her heart to anyone else. When she is kidnapped and taken to this underwater world she doesn't waste time getting hysterical. Instead she takes action and does her best to get back to her beloved sister. I liked that she fought back and admired her courage.
Marko is really frustrating and at first its easy to hate him. However, as the story progresses we get to see a bit more of his humanity and so does Miranda. Although his actions are horrendous and he should have never kidnapped Miranda you can kind of see why he did it. He was really just trying to protect his people in any way he could. He was a really intriguing character and I had a great time getting to know him.
I was also very intrigued by Marko's guard Robbie. He is really kind hearted and tries to do what is right even if it goes against his king's wishes. It was easy to see how Miranda could get so close to him. He is a charming and sweet character that is hard not to love.
This story is a beautiful new take on mermaids that you will not want to miss!(less)

In this story an ordinary girl gets thrust into a world where dreams really can hurt you. The setting was a perfect backdrop to this extraordinary story. What starts out as a dream come true suddenly turns into a nightmare. The whole concept of the Dream world is very imaginative and intriguing. We get to explore a bit of it in this first book and I am eager to learn more about how everything works and its limits in future ones.
My favorite part about this book was the relationship between Christine and Gabriel. At first I was kinda worried because it seemed like it was going to be an insta love kinda thing. However I was happily surprised. Christine and Gabriel do start to get close a bit early on, but instead of forsaking everything for some guy Christine is actually very mature and level headed. Even when things get a little crazy she does never forgets her friends and does her best to find a way to make things right. I really admired her calm and rational thinking, especially since I would have probably been completely crazy at that point. Her and Gabriel do come to care for one another very much, but things weren't easy and it made them all the stronger for it.
Gabriel is a misunderstood boy who just wanted to be normal. He is funny, smart, and really interesting. He knows what a risk it is to make friends which is why he tries to avoid Christine at first, but eventually he learns that he can't hide forever. He really grows a lot throughout the story. It was nice to see him go from the moody misunderstood boy to the man who finally stood up for himself and fought back.
I can't wait to see these two extraordinary characters in the next installment. It promises to be a very action packed and emotionally charged book.

This is a very sweet an inspirational romance that is sure to have you swooning. The story focuses on two unlikely friends that learn their is a fine line between love and hate. I also enjoyed the cultural issues dealt with in this book and what the difficulties that a person born Native American, especially a woman, had to deal with in that time. The issues were handled very well and gave the book a lot more depth.
The romance was handled ver nicely and was well paced. There was Jo insta live which was good. Instead it was a gradual understanding between two people who came to care and even love one another heart and soul.
Lily was a dedicated young woman who worked hard to be a good teacher. She didn't always have an easy time of this because of prejudices, but she always did her best. I admired her heart and spirit. She was such a sweet girl with a fiery spirit that showed itself whenever Christian was around.
I loved the interactions between Christian and Lily. They definitely knew how to press each other's buttons. Christian was a stubborn man, but had his sweet and charming side too. He definitely had a soft spot for Lily. They brought out the best in each other and I definitely routed for these two.

The setting and world building was brilliant. Set in the jungle with deadly opponents on all sides this story really keeps you on edge. You soon find though that that the most deadly enemies lurk from within. The descriptions and action scenes had a deadly beautiful quality to them. I was easily lost in this world of romance, danger, and friendship.
So many memorable characters in this book, but some of my favorites are Marcel, Damian, Rylan, and of course Alex (Alexa).
Alexa didn't have an easy life and from a young age she had to make some tough decisions. Which is why she came to be among the Prince's Guard disguised as a boy. I really admired her determination and strength. Keeping such a secret for so long would be unimaginably hard. Luckily she is able to make some friends and gets to do the one thing she loves most, fight. She is good at it and throughout the book it is the on thing she holds onto even when everything else seems so uncertain.
Marcel is Alexa's twin brother and the one who came up with the plan to disguise her as a boy. He has been there for Alexa through everything and it is plain to see how much these two care for one another. He was sweet character that I wished I could have seen more of.
Rylan is one of my absolute favorite characters in this story. He is so sweet and kind. As well as extremely loyal and fiercely dedicated. He always knew what to do to cheer Alexa up. He was the kind of friend you always want by your side.
Last, but certainly not least is Damian, the prince. He was a little hard to figure out at first, but once you got to know him he was so much more than what he appeared. He was definitely one of the more interesting characters in the book with a lot of passion, intelligence, and secrets. I loved his banter with Alexa and found these two hilarious to watch.
I could not put the book down and am just sad that I will have to wait a long while for the next installment. A big thanks to this debut author for writing this new and addicting series!! (less)

I was so excited for this book release and after finally getting to read it I was not disappointed. With sexy Scotsmen and exciting time travel who couldn't fall in love with "The Laird's Future Bride" The world of supernaturals in old Scotland is well thought out and very intriguing. I liked the idea of their being a safe place for those with supernatural abilities to come and stay without fear. There is a lot of potential for this series and I can't wait to see where the MacLeod's will end up next. The characters had a lot of personality and really made an impact on me.
Holly is a lovely young woman who was just looking to have a good time until she is unwittingly thrust back hundreds of years into the past and into the arms of her one true love. She doesn't just fall right into his arms though. Instead she fights to find a way back home which I liked. However, the longer she stays with Duncan the more she comes to adore him and eventually love him (even if she doesn't admit it). There were a lot of obstacles for both of them, which was understandable since their world's were so completely different. I loved seeing them get to know each other and learn to compromise and make their marriage work.
Duncan is a strong willed laird that is not used to being questioned, but from the moment he laid eyes on Holly he was hooked. Now he is dealing with a woman who can be just as stubborn as him and he is loving every minute of it. I really enjoyed reading about Duncan and it was easy to see how Holly could fall under his spell. He is intriguing and irresistible even if he can be a stubborn mule sometimes.
The next character I grew to love was Callam. He was the charmer of the family, but unfortunately for him he grew to love Holly who was not meant for him. It really broke my heart, but I hope he finds someone to love just as Holly and Duncan did. Hopefully we can see what happens in the next MacLeod book!
This is an exciting and sexy romance that you will not want to put down. So for all you Scotsmen lover's out there check out "The Laird's Future Bride"!

T...moreThe twins are back and this time not only are they solving another murder, but discovering a possible betrayal that hits a little too close to home. This action packed series always keeps you on your toes! The sequel is full of surprises and will keep you guessing right up to the last page. There are plenty of new mysteries and a few old ones that are being brought up in this book. I couldn’t put it down. It is fast paced, full of intrigue, suspense, and will leave you wanting more! I love the relationship between Hayley and Taylor and how they get along so well. They are a great duo and hilarious whenever they are together. They do fight like sibling do sometimes, but over all they are loving sisters who stick together through thick and thin. As sisters they do have their secrets and it is their most dangerous secret that bands them together more than any other. There are a lot of secrets being uncovered in this book and I was anxiously turning each page to find out what happened next. I can’t wait for another story with the twins and seeing what they may uncover next. Check out Betrayal by Gregg Olsen for another look at the crime solving duo everyone loves! (less)
