Nina Askew has just turned forty. Nothing is where it’s supposed to be any more, she left her rich husband, rich house and empty marriage.
Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie is a delightful read. Nina’s midlife crisis was a midlife wake up call. The book leans more towards mid-thirties to forties, but that doesn’t stop it from being an enjoyable read. You see Nina stand up for what she wants and get back on her feet. She falls in love with someone ten years younger and you see her struggle with the age difference and her own insecurities and beliefs. The book is witty and funny and her friendship with Charity makes you want to call your own girlfriend and meet up for amaretto milkshakes, too.
This is an enjoyable short, light read that anyone can enjoy. It’s laugh out love funny and the romance was wow. If you haven't read the delightful Jennifer Crusie yet, this is a good book to fall in love with. You could also try Crazy For You and Agnes and the Hitman.
