Plot: Now the they are on the run, Eva must survive. She is considered unstable and dangerous. I particularly enjoyed this book because of the hard time that is faced. Eva is now joined with other hybrids who are also in hiding. Learning that there are others and the trouble that they face, Eva/Addie have a lot to learn. The ending is good and leaves me with wanting more.
Love: Now this has got to be the weirdest thing ever. Fighting with the other person inside of you and finding yourself in someone’s bed with no reconciliation in how you got there because the other person in your head is in control. Yeah, these little parts made me laugh. The love interest is always interesting, giving the fact that there are two people in one body. Oh the possibilities.
Ending: Yeah, the ending with all the revelations leaves me giddy. I can’t wait to see how it will all end. Especially now that new information has surfaced.
I think this is a great sequel that lives up to the first book. The perfect plot of hybrids coming together as one, the building of the world of a strict government, the story has great tension. Always throwing out a new plot twist, Once We Were is entertaining and delightful. ...more
Alright. This book is way more than what I thought it be. For sure, I love the writing. But the characters had my stomach in knots.
Love: Let me tellsAlright. This book is way more than what I thought it be. For sure, I love the writing. But the characters had my stomach in knots.
Love: Let me tells you the way this love is hideous. This love is doomed from the start. And iffy guy attracted to a young girl, romance moves fast. Oh and did I mention he is STILL married and has a child on the way while he is pursuing her. Yup.Cause he is. And I knew as soon as she feel for his antics there was no going back. This love isn’t one I enjoyed but really cringed at. There were so many underlying lies and betrayals, yet once she was married to this man she looks the other way. I mean, in this time period you have too. She is woman and women in that time period solely relied on their husbands. But man, I felt sorry for this girl and what she went through.
Plot: This story is told in verse form. Like a poem. So it was a quick read for me. Each poem was written beautifully with full detail of what is happening in her life. From her courtship, to marriage, to giving birth, to struggles that any married couple goes through. Still, I think had this girl not been so infatuated with this man, she could of saved herself a lot of heartache.
Frankenstein: Because of that heartache, she is fueled to write. And write she does. She creates this magnificent story that goes on to successful. Even more successful than what she every thought.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. Though I would of preferred a more detail story rather than verse form. I mean, it does give good detail in verse but I think in a novel form it would have been richer. If you like verse form with plenty of drama, check this book out. Hideous Love is good. ...more

Plot: You think that afterAfter following this series, I’m anxious to see how it will all end. For me, this story is okay, but I really expected more.
Plot: You think that after two books in a series that the plot would be somewhat different right? No. I mean, they pretty much faced the same thing they had been facing all along. Fighting with the angels, the struggle to save humanity. The only good part was…well I don’t want to ruin that part but know that this little plot twist really amped up the book for me. Finally, I got to see some good action.
Love: Now if I were to tell you what happens that it would be a major spoiler. But know that I really enjoyed this character and the plot twist. I mean, gessh I even cried a tear or two…maybe.
Ending: After all the struggle to get where they were today I felt like the ending was a bit rushed and not enough. It’s like build up…build Up BUILD UP then ….tiny bam. Not really what I was expecting but everything was nicely tied up in the end. I just thought the ending would have more of a bang you know.
Overall, this series concludes well. There are plenty of plot twists and turns to kept the reader firmly in there seat. Action-packed and full of romance, Angel Fever is delightful. ...more

Plot: This plot moves quickly yet it has so much to get into. From emotions ranging from happy to anger, fights that lead to the death and an ultimate betrayal that will make you gasp, this plot does not let up. There is no stopping once you read this book. All the sarcastic comments, fights, and love is forever etched into my mind like a movie that I want to rewind and watch again. I read this book driving up to the Houston Book Rave. My husband was driving and bored so he ask me what I was reading. I told him, describing scene by scene. Before we knew it, we had this back and forth thing going where I would read a few chapters then fill him in. At one point he was like, “Are you done yet? Tell me what happen!” And I’m like,”Dude! I’m reading as fast as I can!” And he’s all like,” Well hurry up! I want to know if she is going to kill the guy!” Then he asked me several times if it is a movie. I told him no. He made a sad face.
Love: O.M.G. This part is another amazing areat of the book that I totally felt invested in. I think the full range of emotions that the author gives the reader makes it easy to feel invested. I knew the characters. Celaena is my type of gal. Kick-butt and strong, she doesn’t play around or take crap from anyone. She tells it how it is and her threats aren’t threats. There are promise that she will fulfill whatever she says. Watching this love form between Calaena and the guy is like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion. It starts off good, then goes faster and then the crash. Oh man, the crash. When I read that scene, I actually put my face in the book and said,” NOOOOOO!” I really hope that things can be fixed but Calaena is tough girl and doesn’t forgive easily. But just so you know, I”m anxious for the next book already.
Ending: You think after reading soo many heavy revelations that the author will give an easy ending right? HECK NO! The ending not only ripped me to shreds but HOLY CRAPOLA!! That revelation stunned me like a statue. I’m pretty sure I re-read the last page several times just to make sure I read that scene correctly. The author did a beautiful job, connecting every piece of the puzzle slowly but at the right time. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW PLEASE!

Plot: What would you do if your parents were Gods? I think that be pretty cool. I really enjoyed getting into this plot and learning everything about them. The main character, Isadora is quite the gal. She is strong yet wants to be independent. Be her own person instead of who she is called to be. The daughter of a god, destined to die mortal and worship her parents. Each chapter lead up to growth of Isadore and her becoming who she wants to be. She learns more about herself and others around her. She begins to think differently.
Love: I think that this is the coolest part ever! It is so neat how well this author pieced the entire story together using stars. I loved watching this friendship grow into more. Watching these two characters let down their guard and trust on another is a bog step. I think they both have characteristics that each can learn from. Still, I think the way this particular element of stars is super cool.
Drama: Not only does this book have good use of stars but it also pertains lots of drama between the Gods. I mean, duh? How can you not. The struggle for power and worship is fierce in the book leading for some good action and plot twists.

Plot: This story follows a few teenagers who get stuck in a zombie apocalypse while there are in school. One thing that really captures me in the story, is the piece by piece information of watching people get sick. First it starts off as a cold, then is escalades into a zombie feast. It’s crazy reading each chapter and watching the horrors unfold before the readers eyes. Another great aspect of the story is watching these characters, Brian, Chad, Laura and Kenzie go from teenagers to just trying to survive the day. It had an excellent plot that I would dive into again.
ZOMBIES: What would you do if a zombie outbreak happen at your school? You leave the school and then you see it everywhere. It’s on the street, people are running and screaming. You look for your loved ones right? That is what Brain does. He goes on this mission to find his sister Kenzie and his ex-girl Laura. Of course, when a zombie apocalypse happens deep secrets are exposed. This apocalypse lead Brian to look at things differently. It gives Brian strength to do what he needs to do and save the ones he loves.
Ending: After all the zombie craziness has happen, the ending is bittersweet. Friends have been lost and actions are done that can’t be taken back. Not to mention the change that happen in both Brian and his friends life. They are not the same. Some for the better and some bad.

I don’t think I read such a story that captivates the reader with such conviction in forgiveness and love.
Plot: Life sucks. Sometimes bad things happen. This plot is real and down to earth. It captures the reader with the anger of what happen in the past. It pulls the reader past all the mistakes and towards a place where the characters find peace and love. I can’t even tell you how much I loved this book. It is written so beautifully with real emotions and situations that I believe anyone who reads it can relate to it.
Love: How can you love someone after all the mistakes are made? I think this questions answers itself. We love with love. No matter what mistakes are made, once that bond is forged you love them no matter what. I adored how well this story captured every part of love. It even captured the anger, the hurt, the unforgiviness and the bitterness it came along with it. Reena learned to love selflessly and let things go despite all what happen. Reena’s growth throughout the story gives the reader a full bloom of lost and love. It just amazing.
Ending/Forgiviness: There is a saying that says,” You can let your past mistakes make you better or bitter.” And with Reena, it made her better. She took what happen in the past and moved on. She learned to let go of all the anger that she held and learned to love again. Not only for her but for her daughter. She is selfless in every action and I adore her. That is one of strongest these you can do. Learning to love after being hurt.

Pictures: First, I want to talk about the pictures that came along with the story. I loved them. I felt it gave the story a more 3-d. Like you can read the story but a visual is placed in front of you as well. Some pictures were interesting while others were well creepy. Still, I enjoyed turning the page and looking at long past history.
Plot: One of my fave movies to watch during this season is House On Haunted Hill both the old and new version. I adore the whole premise of vengeful spirits luring back their heirs to a place that has gone mad. This story carries a similar plot. I loved every bit of piecing together the mysterious clues of the staff and the coincidence of clues left for others to follow.
Love/Friendship: Since this is a thriller read, there isn’t much romance but it did carry a good flirtation feel that gives the book that right amount of peace. There are creepy moments then two characters get real and get to know each other, smiling. I loved that. The friendships formed have more than what the reader sees. I love reading the story and watching it unfold secret by secret before my eyes.
This is a great story of mystery and mayhem. Lots of scary tales of the old building, told by the townspeople, give this story dimension. The pictures add a great affect to visualizing the world that is being built for the reader. Ultimately an intriguing read that you can not put down, Asylum is perfect for Halloween! ...more

All the stories she writes have so much depth and deeper meaning that I can’t help but fall in love with. What a better way to express love with two flawed characters looking for that small ray of hope.
Plot: I adore this plot. It move smoothly giving the reader time to invest and know each character. The reader was giving a good insight of what the characters went through and who they are now. The author presents each struggle with each character nicely. I couldn’t help but fall in love with the story.
Love: What a better way to watch two people fall in love then two mess up people looking for peace. I love watching them fall I love. They didn’t intend too since both their lives were so complicated with their issues but slowly the reader sees both characters peel away each layer of hurt/anger like an onion. I can’t explain it, but their love is one that is true. The hidden secrets and harbored fears of what would happen if the other person knew what they were struggling with, makes it feel real. They even face the truth, knowing the consequence of their actions. It’s beautiful and breath-taking.
Ending: I really like how this ending is real that you can relate to it. After all the secrets are finally out, both have hard decisions to make. Whether it be good or bad, both characters irrevocably change each other for the better. They both grown so much that no matter what the ending, I knew their lives were altered forever. The ending, had me in tears and I couldn’t shake the smile off my face even if I wanted to.

Plot: In short, this story takes place during the time of Adolf Hitler. Even though the story is very good there are some parts of the story that just made my heart break. The plot is awesome. There is much vivid detail of the time-period, characters as well as the oppression the people went through.
Hilter: One thing the author did create is the image of Hilter that you can’t help but find interesting. At first you see him as nice, caring person. He only wanted what was best for people and then slowly over the course of each chapter, he became darker and darker. It begins with small things, like him being stern, correcting the wrong. Then he just got… well evil. I love that the main character Gretchen at first she admired this guy. She followed him everywhere thinking that he will side with her. Only time will tell what he was really like. By the end of the story I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to finish cause I felt so nervous and…scared for myself and Gretchen.
Ending: The ending just leaves the reader wanting more. I mean, c’mon. Things can’t happen and then it be over. I would love to read the next book and see what happens with Gretchen. I can only imagine with that ending what Gretchen will face next. Unlocking the secrets of her past has given Gretchen this new found strength to do much.

This story has gotten lots of mixed reviews. And well, I certainly felt like there is an appeal to it but other parts of the book just rubbed me the wrong way.
Plot: I want to talk about what I did like in the story. I liked the plot. I loved the idea of dark heroines chosen for destiny that is far beyond them. The alone captured me enough to read through the story. Every chapter reveals more about the prophecy and what is to come. I’m excited to see what each heroine has to offer and they are destined to do.
Love: Now this is the part that bugged me. I’m all for falling for bad boys but this guy was just um…out here. The girl gets kidnapped and then treated horribly. Well, she could have been treated worse , still there are certain circumstance and issue that I didn’t really like. Like the fact that Kaspar is just really mean and bitter towards Violet. They argue a lot and play cruel tricks on each other. I guess you can say that is there way of flirting. To me, it seems a little childish. Like Violet is on a school playground and Kaspar comes along and pushes her into the mud. Points and laugh. But that is his way of showing he likes her. You know what I mean? There is a lot of that going on in the story that I couldn’t really invest in this love. There are many arguments and unexpected plot turns that it felt like the loved is rush. I guess you can say there is more focus on the world around them rather the on them.
Ending: The ending of the book wraps up the story well. I liked how well every secret of the prophecy is revealed and how everything came together. I’m interested in reading the next book cause I would like to see what the prophecy says next.
Overall, this is an okay book. The plot definitely has a pull of a dark world with magnificent secrets hiding. With an exciting conclusion, Dinner With A Vampire is pleasing. ...more

I was immediately drown to it because of the synopsis. I mean death is huge. It makes me think about our lives and how short they really are. Do you have a bucket list? Will you do someone else’s bucket list?
Plot: The reader meets Rebel. A girl handed some bad cards and learning to move on. She is introduced to another girl during detention who questioned Rebel’s life. Then she dies. And her bucket list is in Rebel hands. I love this. Watching Rebel complete the bucket list of a dead girl is amazing. The plot flows well, allowing the reader to fully grasp what the bucket list is doing to Rebel. It’s just awesome!
The bucket list: By Rebel doing the bucket list it changed Rebel. It help her looks at things in a whole new perspective. Some good and some bad. But she changed. Watching Rebel struggle and even face her fears in doing the bucket list made me proud of her. No one pushed her and told her to do it, she did it because she wanted too.
Death: Death makes me questions a lot of things. What would you do if you only had one day to live? Where would you go? What would you confess? Rebel’s life has been consumed by death. By the death of her own loved ones, Rebel begins to wonder about her own life. And in doing that she….

Being trapped in a compound for years captures me. I want to know what happen down there and most of all, I want to know how it all started.
Plot: This story is really well written in dialogue and back round history. Learning how they got down there in the first place, really puts the reader in the characters shoes. How they live, eat and the things they do to keep themselves busy makes me wonder what is going on topside. Each chapter brings forth new details in which you can’t help but follow. It’s like a trail of bread crumbs leading up to some truth that you never see coming.
Family: One thing this story does focus on is on family. It’s all about trusting the father and being loyal to each other. But when things come to question, where does your loyalty lye then? What do you do? Do you trust your father or do you investigate? Well, this is where things get very tricky. I like that these questions posed for some great action and some heart-pounding sneaking around.
Ending: Over the course of the story, parts are revealed that help the reader piece together the story beautifully. Once the reader learned the truth, it raised the hair on the back of my neck. Not only what this father did was brilliant but it was down right freaky! After concluding the story, I want to continue it. I think the ending gives the story another base to jump onto. Characters: I’m going to start off with the character since they themselves have so much to tell. What would you do if your entire friendship is a lie? Kippy faces the unforeseen death of her “best friend” only to be given her journal. A journal that tells horrific and detailed things Ruth did as well as her true feelings toward Kippy. I have to admit that reading these diary entries made me feel like, Who was Ruth anyway? She meant so much to Kippy but everything that Ruth said and did is all a lie. Throughout the story, Kippy’s greatest asset is growth. From the reading the first page of the diary to the last, Kippy overcame many fears and doubts about herself, proving herself otherwise. She learns Ruth’s true colors allowing her to solve Ruth’s mystery murder. The other character is Ruth’s brother. He too, I felt, didn’t really know his sister as he thought he should. Still, there were a few things about Kippy that he knew his sister knew. Both of these characters are flawed yet they need each other to solve the mystery and move on.
Mystery: I love going on a mystery. I love it even more, piecing the pieces together. Every chapter gave more diary details which lead to more clues. I did my best to piece together the mystery before the author reveal it to the reader and yet, I didn’t catch on till the last few chapters. Well done Ms. Hale! This author did a fab job in portraying lies on top of lies, full of drama and of course a girl with dark secret. Every secret revealed only made me want to know Ruth. Want to know who the real girl was. The girl in the diary was nothing that Kippy described. This girl was someone different. It was great to read and have the reader watch it unfold before their eyes.
Friendship: Despite all the things Ruth said about Kippy, Kippy remained a good friend till the end, solving Ruth’s murder. Even though the friendship that Kippy thought they had was not even close to what Ruth saw, she became a better friend and person by sticking by Ruth’s side. In the end, Kippy is a way better person and friend than Ruth ever was.
