Sadly it can be used by those with less than honorable intentions towards their fellow office drones or employer(s).
I would see this as a actual handbook for winning against the problem people of the office where you work. However, the questionable legality of those actions could get you fired or worse depending on the reactions by those effected by following through with the methods described in this book.
Most likely, this book is sought after by back-stabbing office climbers, who want to get ahead on the misdeeds of others. Again there is the chance that this book is the right tool to keep those same miscreants in their place when trying to keep an office running smoothly by middle and upper management. So read and use at your own risk if you choose to. ...more
Got a pain-in-the-ass (relative, coworker, boss, or "friend") who always seems to be bothering you for something at those most awkward times? Are youGot a pain-in-the-ass (relative, coworker, boss, or "friend") who always seems to be bothering you for something at those most awkward times? Are you often taken advantage of because your "Too Nice" for your own good?
Well here's a book for you. This little gem of a book has been written by those people who always kept saying "Yes" instead of "NO!" to those people who irritated them. From their "friends" asking for rides or borrowing things to those pesky tele-marketer twits who keep hassling you for information or buying something.
This book is written to help you get out of dealing with those annoying pests in your life, without feeling guilty about it. You probably have someone you can't say,"NO!" to and they always manage to get under your skin and make you do something that you don't want to, well here's a helping hand to pull you out of that cycle of grief that keeps driving you mad and lets you get a piece of mind without loosing you moral values.
Often times we are confronted with things we'd rather not do from people that know how to push our buttons. Well this book offers time tested solutions to get out of doing those or at least keeps your alternatives open rather than be forced to complete the actions by those people who seem to find a way to get you to do something you'd rather not. ...more
This is a very useful book in the art of self-defense. It's designed to train a person with critical skills in injuring an opponent(s) to prevent them from attacking. I dislike the word "victim" it makes it seem like the person who is being attacked, somehow brought it on themselves. I'll be using "defender", as the person who is protecting themselves from being attacked by their aggressor(s). This fighting style is designed to take out more than one target with minimal effort.
There are Seven Primary attack areas and are designed to be very effective and always stop an attacker in their tracks or at least allow the defender to run away from the fight. Many people have learned about this target areas because this has been copied and handed down from this form of martial arts. The upper target areas can be even more lethal as they include various ways of breaking the neck as a final option. While the lower target areas will allow for escape from the attacker, that final option may mean life or death for the defender. So when push comes to shove the defender can be the survivor of the confrontation.
I would suggest reading this book for anyone who is likely to get beat up by aggressive individuals or groups. However, I do discourage a person from picking up this book because their mouths got them into trouble because their ass can't cover the check. So this is a book that people should get to make them feel a little safer when confronted by an opponent who means to do them bodily harm.
There are techniques in here to help fend off knives and other hand-to-hand weapons. Since they are extensions of the attackers arms, breaking elbow joints and knees with techniques taught in this book will allow the defender to survive and get away (mostly) intact. ...more

From his youth to his latest misadventures in the acting world. Mostly this covers before his time in Burn Notice. But it does let people learn all about the man that is Bruce Campbell. Dry wit and wry humor make this a good read about those who life is on the big and small screen.
It breaks down the 4th wall and lets people see the bad side of Hollyweird that Bruce was exposed to and kept himself smartly away from. While he's a "B" movie actor, thanks to Sam Raimi his star has risen and will be remembered as an amazing talent without the whole horror of being into drugs or other outlandish scandals that seem to rock the world of actors. This lets people know that acting is a tough gig and you have to sell your self to get to the top.
Bruce, like Mr. T and Jerry Doyle show that he has a strong and professional work ethic that got him where he is today without being a total sellout or falling through the cracks. While his name isn't a "A" lister like many other phonies in Hollyweird, Bruce still gets the fans attention and respect where ever he goes. He also shows that he's just a regular schlub like his fans which make them love him even more. I say if your curious about the inside life of acting pick up Bruce Campbell and try to follow his act as a "good actor" in Hollyweird. ...more

Often times men have no clue about what to do or where to take their girlfriend/wife/s.o. and make it an enjoyable event. This book helps with these things and makes it seem like we really care and can often lead to better relationships because of it.
I will say that this is "the book" to have around to make dates more interesting and the romance come alive. For those who feel like the fire has started to die or has gone out, this will bring it back and make it better. Just remember that also if you have a girl on the side to remember which idea you used on whom to keep from getting in trouble later on. ...more

So I took it with aTales from the Nerd Herd, when I first saw this book I wasn't sure to be insulted by the Title and this was given to me as a gift. So I took it with a grain of salt. While its really for YA readers as a kind of "been there, done that and lived to survive the tale" book. I would say I did like it, but it seemed like there were a lot more female authors in the mix, which is good seeing a large female demographic.
However, being a geek or nerd growing up in the 70s and 80s, it was kind of not something that was my cup of tea. This book seems to be geared towards teenager/YAs, who need to understand that they aren't alone in the geekdom world. While there are other geek books Elfish Gene and Gaming Geeks & Fantasy Freaks are mainly geared towards the LARP and Gaming Community at large. This book is just a general overview towards various types of geeks including gaming, band, math, science, technology, and even humor to name a few. I did think it was interesting enough to read and did share it with a few friends who are similar minded. I did think there was some insult implied towards geeks when this was written, not by the authors or editors per say, but more likely from the publishers themselves as they marketed it specifically for those under 21. ...more

Classic Mr. Rogers from my childhood. This gem for people raising children or needing to be reminded why that Dr. Fred Rogers made people feel betterClassic Mr. Rogers from my childhood. This gem for people raising children or needing to be reminded why that Dr. Fred Rogers made people feel better about themselves. This is the book that should be required reading in public & private schools while children are growing up and also a book for the home to help in making good children.
The fact that new Disney has raised a generation of selfish tweens to twenty-some makes me sad and I wonder why that Mr. Rogers was pulled off the air. PBS and public education need to be reminded to bring back this children's classic on how to be a child and be civilized as a child as well. This is one of the books that shows how to be a compassionate person to others.
While there has been complains that its helped raise a generation of whiners and pathetic people, I remember that what I learned from Mr. Rogers was how to be a "good" person, even if others weren't. While I'm a smart-ass person nowadays, that comes from 20 years of being in the service and still I do remember that I was probably a lot nicer to people then they deserved or should have gotten had I been any less of a person. ...more
