I've read 3 of this series so far and just can't get in to them. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am allergic to cats and just don't think they are all that cute. The story surrounds the very rich and their eccentric interior designers.(less)

If it wasn't for bad luck Sookie wouldn't have any luck at all. Someone is shooting the changelings and her brother Jason is about to turn into a were-panther while being suspected of doing the shootings.
I'm not really "into" the vampire genre but I enjoy the comedy involved in Sookie's life. She reminds me of Stephanie Plum only southern. I especially like these in audiobook. I give it 3 stars.(less)

I think this book was probably my favorite so far. This book is first in the series but unfortunately this is the only that has been translated into English (so far).
The protagonist is a flawed Danish detective that is given a new position as head of Dept.Q. which is basically a cold case department, therefore the title of the book. He is given this "promotion" to basically keep him out of trouble until he retires. A great mystery and wonderful painting of characters. I hope that his other books get translated soon. I'll be first in line to read it.
I listened to this book on audiobook which was excellent. READ THIS BOOK!(less)

So this is the 2nd or 3rd book in this series that I have read and I just don't get the fascination with these books. I always keep the series in mind when doing a challenge that needs a book about Scotland but way too many hard to pronounce names. In this book particularly the snobbish upper crust and their treatment of Hamish is downright shameful. I couldn't wait to finish this one and really don't think I will read any further in the series.(less)

It just seems like a lot of this book is spent on Kay's paranoia that those around her are keeping things from her or involved in activities that she feels they shouldn't be. I think I probably gave the first 19 books five stars. This one I am going down to ★★★★.(less)
