Yup, I said it...and I simply adored Ender's Game so that's a big deal.
The depth that this book have just amazes me. I was so invested in all the characters that I found myself getting angry when they made poor decisions. I wanted to jump into the book and yell at them. Or when they made hard decisions, I wanted to give them the companionship they were looking for. It takes a lot for a book to make me cry and only this and the Hunger Games have succeeded in that.
This book also has depth in what it addresses in terms of politics, religion and the like. I can see why others were disappointed. It is definitely not as action packed as the first book. However I think that is truly what makes this book so much more touching. It reaches in and wakes up parts of you that you aren't sure you were willing to deal with. I can see why older readers would get more from this than younger readers as well.
I am not sure what else to say, besides the fact that this is a great book. If you are a lover of Science Fiction, if you enjoy books that make you think about society, this is a book that you will fall in love with.
Orson Scott Card has my undying love now. I cannot wait to see what else he has in store for me.(less)

I waited anxiously for it to come in the mail.
When I started reading, I instantly found myself playing pieces from the movie in my head (one of the reasons I generally tend to avoid movies based on books), yet I pushed on. Then, oh then, surprise! There is so much more to this story than the movie shows us! I loved meeting the characters who played a part in the way that V behaves. I loved learning more and more about who he was behind that perpetually smiling mask.
V for Vendetta is one of those books that makes you think about your life. After I read this, I again felt the same thing I felt after I saw the movie. I wanted to act! I wanted to protest something...anything! If a book can make me feel that way, I am sold!
I truly loved this book! It yet again proves to me why books are so much better than their movie counterparts.(less)

Others I knew who read this complained about the lack of names, the jumbled writing style, the lack of punctuation...
I didn't notice one bit of that. From the moment I opened this story I fell into step with the nameless man and his son. I walked the ashen roads with them, plagued with nameless fears. I celebrated when they "did good" and mourned when they found nothing. Despite the depth so many said this book lacked, I felt more connected to this story than I lot that I have read lately.
Desolation, but deep within the characters so much hope and love.
To those who will read this after me, please go into this novel with an open heart and mind. It is true that it isn't like a lot of other novels out there, but perhaps that is what makes it so much more intriguing.(less)

I found myself enamored with this book from the moment I started to read, and I just flew through it. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart though. Readers need to brace themselves for ample amounts of descriptive blood and gore!
Haunted takes a look at the deep, dark parts of people that hide beneath the surface. It reminds us how easily we can revert back to those hidden selves. All it takes is a little coaxing.
What really sold the book for me, was the short stories that bind the storyline together. I wasn't always completely sure of how I felt about the characters, but each time I read one of their stories I felt connected again.
