If another book would be written iThe Turning Tides is the final book in this series. It has been quite a journey for Marina, her family and friends. If another book would be written in the future I would love to read it. It would be great to see the characters in the future. But for now I am happy to have read such a great series.
Marina continues to be one strong young lady who just seems to find trouble no matter where she is. Her relationship with Ethan is tested once again but this time I wasn't sure if it would survive. The author brings in some new characters into the story that shake things up. The story mainly focuses on Marina but we do get a few updates from some of my other favorites throughout. There is a lot more suspense and action in this book than there was in the previous ones. It seemed more intense and I found myself not wanting to put it down. With the new characters comes some surprising news. Marina must figure out who she can really trust because her life and the lives of the mermaids depends on it.
When I finished reading, I was happy with how the series ended. I am going to miss reading about the characters that I have come to enjoy. Overall a great series that I would recommend. I will be on the lookout for more stories from this author. This e-book was provided to me by the author for review. This did not affect my review in any way. ...more

When I was asked to review it I thought alright it sounds good. Well it was better than good, it totally blew me away. I haven’t read a book that I enjoyed reading so much in a while. I read it in a short time and didn’t want to put it down.
Robin is living in all girls’ boarding school where everyone is rich and fake. Her father is a wealthy lawyer who only cares about making money and having the finer things in life. Living a life of luxury, maids and nannies is all Robin has known her entire life.
That is until her dad suffers a stroke and their world comes tumbling down. Robin is shocked to find out that her family is broke. People are after her dad for money he owes. When Robin sees a chance at the hospital to get her dad out and make a run for it that is what she does. She steals a car and tries to rob a bank but all does not go as she planned. They end up at Turtle Shores trailer park. It’s here that she meets some really odd, loving, country people. Robin thinks that they are just a bunch of crazy white trailer trash. Somewhere that they can hide until she can figure out what to do next. She has no idea the truth that she will uncover about her family’s history.
I fell in love with Creek as soon as he made an appearance. He is this gorgeous, bad boy outlaw, a kind of person that Robin has never come into contact with. At first she doesn’t like him and doesn’t really want to be around him. That is until something happens and she sees how protective he is of his little brother Dooley. I loved the story of Robin, who went from riches to rags.
I found myself laughing at all the crazy wild things that went on and was said at Turtle Shores. I also really enjoyed how Robin and Creek’s relationship developed. The way that he made her see how you can love people and be truly happy with pretty much nothing. The way that she overcame her feelings and anger towards her dad made me happy for them.
While there are some sad situations that are going on there is so much humor, romance, action and suspense that you will keep you glued to this story. Oh and can’t forget about those crazy TNT boys and their explosives. Just some of the colorful characters in this amazingly written story. The situations that Robin and Creek find themselves in while trying to get money will have you laughing too.
This is a must read that I highly recommend! I need to get the other books in this series soon. This book was provided to me by the author for review. This did not affect my review in any way. ...more

It has lots that I love, vampires, hunters, werewolves, supernatural creatures and of course forbidden romance.
Bay-Lee is not your average teenager, she is Van Helsing's daughter. She has been hiding out and moving around for most of her life with her Uncle. She has always dreamed of attending her father's school for hunters. When she finally gets the chance her life will change forever. Bay-Lee wants to train so that one day she can avenge her mother's death. Once she arrives at her new school she is taken into a mock battle almost immediately. Most of the other students don't like her and thinks that she gets special treatment because of her last name. One of the students that really dislikes her is Nick. He is a hunter and one of Van Helsing's best. Nick volunteers to mentor Bay-Lee. It's then that he realizes that he is intrigued by her. But there is a prophecy that will not allow Nick and Bay-lee be together. So they must keep their relationship a secret and figure out a way for the prophecy not to come true. If that's not enough there is someone creating wraiths to kill students on their birthdays. There are other surprises that will keep you guessing throughout.
This book will take you for one wild ride with lots of twists and turns. I was in love with the story and the characters from beginning to end. One of my favorite side characters is Keisha. I love her kick butt attitude and how she is such a great friend to Bay-Lee. I am left with unanswered questions but also wanting to read book two like right now. LOL I was shocked and surprised by the last part of the book. I am hoping that there is much more to this in the next book. I want a different ending. You will understand when you read it. You just want to listen to it over and over again. But in this case I would love to read this trilogy again. This third and final book brings the story to a whole new level and ties everything together with an epic ending that I did not see coming. I could not put my kindle down, Chloe and Alex's story had me so drawn in. It's romantical and suspenseful with a bit of mystery tied in.
Chloe and Alex are living with their son Sammy in San Diego within their drift. Things are going really well but there is always someone waiting for them in the shadows. Franco and his men are still trying to get their hands on the mysterious locket. Alex has secrets of his own and little Sammy always seems to know that Chloe needs to follow what Alex says is best.
Throughout the story I found myself trying to figure out the answers to the same questions that Chloe had. I have to admit that I was confused of what was really going on and what was real and what was a drift. The confusion was a good thing though because by the end I was really surprised. There are many twists and turns throughout with one that I thought had changed the story and thought I knew the outcome. Well I was sure wrong, the last part of the book throws a major curve and the story comes full circle. Things are not always what they seem and this author did a fantastic job of making that happen within these three books. I loved how the locket and the picture came to be about at the end. When you read the book you will understand. I could go on and on but I don't want to give any spoilers away.
This is not a genre that I normally read but I am so happy that when I was asked to read the first book Schasm that I did. While this story was fun for me to read it really opened my eyes up to people with mental illness. I highly recommend reading this trilogy. I am looking forward to reading more from this amazing author in the future. This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way....more

Just when Chloe and Alex thought they were escaping their horrible real lives things take a turn for the worse. Chloe and Alex are now being held captive by her Uncle Franco. But what I loved is how they are living such a wonderful life in Paris within their drift. While most of the story takes place in their drift there are times that Chloe goes back to real life. In both reality and the drift Chloe and Alex are in danger and are seeming to run out of time. This book took their story to a entire new place so to speak. We meet new characters and learn so much more about Alex's past. Uncle Franco has some secrets of his own that change things up a bit too. While I found myself getting lost within their story I couldn't help but forget that they were living in one of their drifts and not real life. There are some major changes towards the end and an exciting change to the cliffhanger at the end.
I really enjoyed the first two books and am looking forward to reading the third book When Fully Fused. This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way. ...more

Chloe has lived her entire life basically a prisoner in her own home. Her mother treats her bad and only allows her to leave the house to go to the doctor where she always accompanies her. She thinks Chloe is mentally ill. Chloe is left with only her imagination so she drifts. She lives an entirely different life in her other world. It's here that she meets Alex and his mother Celia. Chloe finds out that she knew them since she was a child. Is Alex and Celia real, has she known them since childhood or is it all in her imagination?
I don't want to give too much of the story away. I will say that there is some romance and lots of twists and turns. I have not read a book like this before and I was just blown away by it. I was told that I would either love it or hate it. Well I loved it. It kept me guessing and wondering what was real and what was in her imagination.
The ending has a major twist and then we are left with a cliffhanger ending. I need book two like now. Even if this is not a genre that you normally read, I recommend you read this. It's that good. I was hooked from the first chapter and just found the story to be really interesting and fun.
Samantha aka Sam is a college student living with her dad who she is still getting to know. Her mother was killed in a car accident when Sam was sixteen. She is thrilled to hear that she can write a paper on her family history, which she knows little about. While on a break from school she decides to go to the town where her mom grew up. She wants to explore the town, school and see what she can find out about her family history.
While there she meets Thomas, a former custodian at the school that knew her mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. He lets her into the school, which has been closed for years to have a look around. It's there that she discovers a hole in a wall and while looking through sees a little girl on the stage. Wondering if she is seeing a ghost she steps through the hole and into the year 1975. It's here that everything changes and the story gets very interesting. Sam meets Thomas and some others that will change her life forever. One interesting person that she meets is Suzanne. She has a unique story that will not only help Sam but could possibly change events that have happened. Together they want to figure out if little Josie Baker's death was an accident or something else. Can they save her from dying or what will the outcome be for the future?
I loved Sam in the 1970's. I liked how she became her own person, didn't back down to anyone. She is able to interact with her family, some of whom she has never met. I felt her happiness and sadness about seeing her mom as a child. The friends she makes and the events that transform just made this story such a great read. If I could have the chance to time travel this is one place I would love to go. Sam gets to experience a time when things were much calmer and laid back. The story is well written and I enjoyed getting to explore the 70's through Sam's eyes. The ending was a bit confusing to me. I am still thinking about it. Overall an interesting, fun and charming read.

Marin and Favian are splitting their time between the elf kingdom and going out on missions to kill ogres. While at the kingdom Marin comes in contact with who she thinks is Favian only to find out that it is his identical twin brother Sebastian. As you are probably thinking yes this does cause some problems. But Marin is more focused on becoming a Protector and killing as many ogres as she can. While at the same time she wants to find out who her real father is and what she is apart from being human. I think I was as shocked and as confused as Marin when she finds out some things from her past. She is also trying to keep Favian from finding out that she is in love with him, while it seems everyone in the kingdom knows this already. But that doesn't stop the males from wanting to court her.
Protector is full of action, suspense, lots of twists and turns and some romance. It will keep you on your toes from start to finish. There is just so much that we learn in this one but so much more to find out in the next installment too. The ending is truly magical. I could just keep gushing about this one all day. I just really loved it and hope I don't have to wait to long for the next book. This is one of those stories that I want to read over and over.

Sometimes when I read the second book in a series or trilogy I am not always happy by the end. Radium Halos Part 2 is an exception. By the end it will leave you asking for more.
Zoe and her friends are wanting and looking for some way to help out others in their community with their new found powers. They are training hard and learning more about what they can do with their powers. When muggings, break ins and even murder start occurring in their small town they step up their game. They are trying to figure out who is behind all of this. At the same time Zoe is figuring out her feelings for Kieran while keeping them a secret from the group. There is tension between some of the friends too, with a couple accusing the others of some crazy things.
We still haven't learned why or how they received their powers. While this is somewhat of a short read there is a lot packed into it. It is written well and I found myself not wanting to put it down. The mystery, suspense and romance were extras that I loved. I was trying to figure out who the traitor was throughout the book. By the end I had figured out the correct person although I was hoping I was wrong.
The ending is really good and leaves you wanting more. There are some twists and turns that are going to make the third book even better than the previous ones I think. Mora is a teenage girl on a mission to save her village from the greyskins (zombie like creatures). Her parents are dead and now it's up to her to find a way to keep her brother and grandmother alive and safe. She sets out to seek help from Jeremiah, the leader of Screven. Along the way she encounters a herd of greyskins. This leads her to discovering that she has super human powers. She ends up in another colony where she comes into contact with others like her, the Starborn. Mora must decide who she can trust while learning about her new powers.
This is where I really started to enjoy the book even more. The first couple of chapters gave a background of what the world Mora lives in is like. It was also somewhat creepy reading about the greyskins. The story became more interesting to read as it went on. I found myself not wanting to stop reading. It is full of action, suspense and a bit of romance here and there with a love triangle threw into the mix. The story is well written with interesting and likeable characters. In the previous novella Angel jumped into the dark hole and is presumed gone forever. Her friends however refuse to believe this and are reading her diary trying to figure out a way to get her back. Her soulmate Rafael has gone crazy on everyone because he doesn't want to deal with Angel being gone.
When they do find a way to get Angel back things are not what they had expected. The demon beast is inside of Angel. She has to fight hard to keep control but at times the beast takes over. Rafael is determined to get Angel back for good. Along with her friends and brother Jordan they need to figure out how to remove the beast for good. Things go down on Halloween night when the veil between the worlds is the thinnest.
In this one we get a surprise visit for a short time from someone that was lost in the previous novella. We also get to meet some new characters that turn out to be interesting in their own ways. I enjoyed learning about the hybrid witch/vampire. As I have said previously this one is full of action and suspense. There is some romance and new friendships. I have enjoyed this trilogy and recommend it to anyone who enjoys vampire stories with a twist. I am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Zoe and her friends take cover in an old mine when a sudden thunderstorm hits. The next day they each realize that they have some kind of supernatural sense. Each one is different from the others. The only one who did not receive any kind of supernatural sense is the new guy Kieran. They all decide for now that they are going to keep this all between them and not tell anyone else. They want to learn and develop their new senses more.

First off I have to say that Markelle has done it again. The books in this series just get better with each one. I just can't get enough of them. EachFirst off I have to say that Markelle has done it again. The books in this series just get better with each one. I just can't get enough of them. Each book is unique in it's own way and she just brings something new each time.
In this one Ramsey sets off on the journey of a lifetime with some of her friends. She is on a mission to end the war over the stolen child. Ramesy and her friends must travel through each magical realm starting with the mermaids and ending in the golden fairy realm. Before leaving each realm she must obtain the crown of the queen of that realm. She knows it will not be an easy task but has no idea what they will encounter when they start out. King Vortigern has put restrictions on each realm that makes it very difficult for Ramsey to get everyone to trust her when she gets to their realm.
While I did miss the elf realm and the people there, I enjoyed reading about the different realms, each is so different from the others. I liked some of the characters better than others in each realm. Along the way Ramsey continues to learn more about the Rebellion and who she can trust.
Her relationship with Nathan is tested throughout the story. She isn't sure whether she should stay with him or not. She can't get past the whole thing with Stellan getting killed because of her. But that's not all that comes between them, there is someone else. I'm not going to say who, don't want to spoil it for anyone. I was quite shocked to learn more about Ramsey's past as she was told about it.
Oh and yes can't forget that Ellie makes things difficult by showing up all the time in different realms. Towards the end we learn more about Ellie and her story and what she does shocked me. The ending was really good but left me saying wait what just happened? The Stolen Child has it all adventure, danger, suspense, romance, excitement and the list goes on and on. I can't wait to read the next book, hope Markelle writes fast. :)...more

It picks up where Unnatural Law left off. Matt is continuing to figure out how to help Jaycie control her powers. Just when they think they have gained control and have eliminated their enemies, they find out they have new ones to deal with. These new enemies are quite unexpected.
There are new relationships and some new characters. I loved Brianna, wow she is something else. I love the banter between Matt and John. In this book we learn more about the backgrounds of some of the characters. I was shocked by some of the revelations but oh are they ever good ones. There are some major plot twists and shakeups. Lots of action, suspense and romance. Oh yeah and Matt and more Matt, can't get enough of him. I really enjoy the relationships these people have with one another. I would love to have friends like these. They made me laugh so much throughout reading this. Oh yeah and then you get to the end and major cliffhanger. I did not see it coming and was shocked at what happened.

I have to say that I enjoyed reading this one a bit more than the first book. I really liked that Matt was more of a main character in this one. He really came into his own and shocked me with what he can do. I love these characters and how they interact with each other. There is a lot going on all the time in this story but the author makes it work. I loved all the action, bits of romance and where the story is headed. Oh and how Mason and John use their powers on Jaycie and Matt just makes me laugh. The pink hot pants scene was funny, you’ll understand when you read it.

Brian RoweOver the Rainbow was not what I expected but now that I think about it I'm not sure what I really expected. I was not disappointed though. Brian Rowe is an amazing, brilliant author in my opinion. He brings these crazy themes, ideas and characters to life and always writes a story that I just can't put down.
The story is set in 1999 but has flashbacks to when Zippy was younger. She is a lesbian teenage girl who falls in love online with a girl named Mira. Zippy's father is a homophobic man who does everything he can throughout the book to make Zippy straight. When her father takes her to the airport to send her to an anti-gay camp, Zippy has other ideas. She finds a way to zip herself in another passengers large suitcase and ships herself to Seattle in hopes of meeting Mira. Along the way The Rapture happens, or does it? Most of the world has just disappeared and the only passenger still alive and on the plane with Zippy is Frankie. There is also a little dog named Judy that they take with them. Together they set out to find a way to survive and get to Seattle. Not long after they meet up with another stranger, Mr. Balm and then towards the end a little girl named Elle. They all have a reason to want to get there. Together they endure a crazy, funny, wild adventure to make it to Seattle. They have to dodge cars whose passengers have disappeared, crazy creatures and very large dinosaurs. Lots and lots of them.
This story is about friendship, love and overcoming obstacles. The last part of the book is really good. Just when you think they have dodged the dinosaurs and Zippy's father, someone or something turns up or something crazy happens again. I really liked how it ended but I am hoping there is going to be more to this story in a sequel. I want to read more about Zippy and her friends. All in all a great read.
