With each new book in this series I find myself being drawed in more and more. This second book did not disappoint. I really enjoyed reading the first one in this series and was excited to start reading this one. It was just as good as the first one. But with this one we get to meet new characters and go to other realms.
Here we see Brooke out on a mission with Arantay. While Evan is back at Veneseron training for his next trial. Jed is being himself trying to flirt with all the girls. I just love his personality and he is one of my favorites in this book. He makes me laugh throughout the story.
Evan and his friends are also trying to figure out what is going on around there. Girls keep coming up missing and are they are being told that the girls are just runaways. They don’t believe this and start to investigate on their own. Evan at the same time is trying to keep his demon side quiet and not let others find out about it.
Brooke and Arantay are in London trying to find a rogue werewolf who has been terrorizing the city. While they both have feelings for each other, now is not the time to act on them. They want to try to heal or cure the rogue werewolf and find out what is causing his madness. It’s not long before they have their run ins with other creatures who don’t like and don’t want venators in their city.
Will they make it out alive? Will Evan and his friends pass their trial and move to the next level? You need to read this great story to find out. If that is not enough there are many other characters that we meet along the way that I’m wondering how and when they will fit into the story with Evan and Brooke. It’s a lot to take in with so much going on and so many characters stories. In the end we are left with some real cliffhangers. But that being said I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what happens next. This e-book was provided to me by the author for review. This did not affect my review in any way. ...more

Evan doesn't really have a good life, he never knew his parents and was raised by his "grandmother" who is actually no relation to him. He is bullied by the kid's at school and doesn't have any friends. That all changes when he is taken to another realm, Veneseron, which is a school for demon hunters. Here he is given a week to start training to become a demon hunter. He has the option to leave and go back to Earth after a week. Fortunantly for him he decides to stay. Evan has finally found somewhere he belongs and fits in. Things seem to be going well for him.
Brooke has a somewhat normal life. Her family although doesn't really like her and could care less if she was around or not. She too is taken and has the same option to stay or leave. Evan and Brooke become fast friends and continue to make friends with some of the other Venators.
The world that Collins created is dark, magical and entertaining all at the same time. There are so many characters that I could not keep track of them all. The statues move, talk and can do some things to people. The students train to become demon hunters and have to move up the ranks to be able to go out to other realms to fight the demons. But they never expected to have demons invade Veneseron.
I really liked Evan and Brooke but I loved Jed, he is so funny and such a likeable character. I also really liked reading and learning about Arantay. This book just has so much to offer, with all the characters, different types of monsters, all the cool magic and a bit of romance. What's not to like? The last part of the book is really good and fast paced. We learn some really crazy dark things about who Evan and Brooke's real parents are.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I recommend this if you like fantasy with a some darkness to it. This e-book was provided to me by the author for review. This did not affect my review in any way....more

The characters and the story just draws you iFalling For Fire in my opinion deserves far more than a five star rating. I absolutely LOVED reading it! The characters and the story just draws you in from the beginning. It is quite a bit of a roller coaster ride full of emotions. It is a fun book to read but I will warn you there are sad parts that will bring tears to your eyes. I felt so drawn into the story and thought how awesome it would be to have these characters as my friends and family.
Aurora, aka, Rory is the Winter faerie princess. She lives with her parents, the King and Queen of Winterland and her siblings. She is training to become Queen one day.
Sorin is the faerie prince of Summer. He lives with his parents, the King and Queen of Summerland and his siblings. He is training to be the King one day. He is also trying to stop his parents from finding him a Summer bride to marry when he turns eighteen.
There are four seasons within the faerie realm. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Now while they trade with each other they still enforce the old laws which include staying within your own season and a major one, not having a relationship with a faerie from a different season. Then there is the Iron Fey that everyone has to deal with. They were banished long ago and try to start battles with all the seasons.
One night Sorin's best friend Keir asks him to go hang out somewhere Sorin has never been to. They end up at the Falls, where all the seasons land meets. Some of the teenage faeries from the different seasons have been meeting here for years to hang out for a few hours without anyone finding out. They think that it is wrong that they have to be separated from the other seasons. This is where Sorin and Aurora meet and fall in love. They want to change the old laws and get things changed. While the royals do decide to open their gates for each season celebration everything else seems to stay the same. So the teenagers continue to meet once a month at the falls. Will their forbidden love survive, will the iron fey succeed, what will happen next? I would love to tell you about all the different characters and all the things that happen but I don't want to give any spoilers away. I just absolutely loved reading this and I don't think I would stop gushing about it if I started.
Just when you are loving what is happening the author throws a curve ball and the story takes a different turn. There are so many twists, turns and surprises that it will keep you guessing until the very end. I will tell you though I loved Sorin and Aurora, they are just such an amazing couple. I liked their friends too, they were all just so much fun to read about. I also really enjoyed learning about the different seasons and their lands. I would love to live in Winterland and have purple and white hair. The way the author describes the scenes is just enough to make you feel like you are there without being overly descriptive. I really liked a new character, Kailani that we meet about halfway through that fits into Winterland so good. Oh and I have to say that I adored Sorin's little sister Skye, she is just so adorable, sweet and funny.
This is one of those books that you don't want to end. When you finish reading the last page it's heartbreaking because you want it to continue on so much. This is a stand alone book but there is still so much with the storyline that this could be made into a series. I am so hoping this happens. I would love to read more books with these characters. This is one of my favorite books and has one of my favorite details I love in a book, forbidden romance. The author nailed it with this one. This is a must read and I highly recommend it! This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way.
Well I am going to start off by saying WOW! Yeah this is the kind of book that I love to read and why I love fantasy. Touch of Death is a great read.Well I am going to start off by saying WOW! Yeah this is the kind of book that I love to read and why I love fantasy. Touch of Death is a great read. The author just brings such energy and life to these characters.
Anika and her twin sister Aria are turning 18. Well for most of us it means becoming an adult. For these sisters it means that they will become full succubus. When you are a succubus you become immortal. You don't age, don't get sick, etc. but you can be killed, it's just harder to do. You can fall asleep whenever you want and go into the dream realm. This is where they get their energy. They feed off of humans by kissing them while they are dreaming. They can also have sex with them which gives them even more energy. They need energy from humans or they become weak. But there is a downfall that Anika doesn' like, all the attention from guys. All the guys around them can't keep their eyes off them and it's because they are succubus.
Aria is very excited and happy to turn 18. She is a big flirt and can't wait to learn more and just have fun. Anika on the other hand is a bit more nervous and not all that excited. Once they become full succubus they will also join their parents and grandparents in The Siren, a paranormal law enforcement agency. Things don't start off too good for the twins though. They don't seem to follow the rules that their parents set for them.
Anika and Aria are very powerful and don't always realize their power and sometimes are not able to stop feeding. The girls also need to keep that they are succubus a secret from their friends. Then there is the whole dating thing. Aria quickly finds a nice incubi, a male succubus named Hudson in the dream realm. They start dating and things seem to go good for them. Anika on the other hand falls in love with a human named Zak. He is also her best friends Paisley's cousin. While it takes a while for Anika to finally agree to go out with Zak things are difficult for them. Anika could potentially kill Zak with just one kiss. If that's not enough, there are succubus that want to hurt and kill the twins. Oh yeah and Anika knows there is something off about her best friends Paisley and Kora's boyfriends. She is pretty sure they are supernatural but doesn't know for sure or what they are.
I have read other books from this author in the past so when I got a chance to read this I jumped on it. I LOVED it and was wanted more when it ended. It has so much that I love in a good book, romance, action, suspense, supernatural, fun, exciting and the list could go on. This is a must read book if you enjoy reading fantasy. The author leaves it open for this to become a trilogy or series. I am really hoping that there are more books in the works for these characters. Oh I could keep going on and on about how much I enjoyed reading this book. But now it's your turn to enjoy this amazing and fun book. I highly recommend that you purchase a copy, you will not be disappointed. This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way....more

She has written yet another amazing book in this fun and magical series that I love so much. Every book just keeps getting better and the story keeps developing into something that I would have never imagined it going.
Ramsey and some of her friends are almost to their destination, the rebellion. It's here that they will find assistance and guidance to get King Vortigen's crown from his castle in the element fairy realm. Ramsey will need the help of the King's son Joseph who is the leader of the rebellion.
Things don't go as planned right from the start. Ramsey used a spell from a spell book that she was not supposed to and now Stellan is in her dreams every night. She can only keep this secret for so long. Her relationship with Eder is strained because he wants to be more than her protector all the while she has no memories of her time with him. Then there is her relationship with Nathan, which starts off good but takes a turn for trouble when he finds out she has been keeping secrets from him. If that's not enough, King Vortigen is using black magic to make soldiers that the rebellion might not be able to win against. Ramsey also believes that there is a trader among them, but finding out who it is will be a challenge. The true heir to the crown is kidnapped and it's not who you think. Will Ramsey be able to obtain the crown, take down Voritgen's army, save everyone and her relationship with Nathan?
There were many twists and turns that I never saw coming and was very surprised by. There is romance, friendship, lots of action and suspense with a bit of mystery tied in. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait for Markelle to hurry up and write the next one! I am so excited to find out what happens next in Ramsey's journey. This is a must read series, you will not be disappointed! I highly recommend reading it! ...more

That is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this book. I loved the first two books in this trilogy and I was hoping this one would be good too. It was even better. The story this time focuses on the same characters but they are in different locations. Drake is off on his own trying to figure out what he is going to do now that he doesn't have his powers anymore. Sam is back at the new place for all the kids from Rent-A-Kid that have escaped or been rescued. Luke and Lucy are on a mission with IPI to save the kids from Sam's crazy father Steele and the head of Rent-A-Kid.
While Sam wishes that Drake could be there for her when she delivers Ana she is also really angry with him for leaving in the first place. But she has her friends around and Darren who would like to be more than friends. When Ana is put in danger, Sam will do whatever it takes to rescue her and take down Steele. The plane crashes that Luke, Lucy and a bunch of IPI agents are on. So now they are stuck on a remote island with what seems like no way of getting off it. Here we meet Hunter, a hot IPI agent. Lucy and Hunter become involved in more than just the rescue mission of the kids. Drake has his own issues out on his own. He comes across a kid Toby that he seems to need help. Or will Drake end up needing help from Toby? I LOVED reading about Lucy and Hunter. They made being stuck on the island a good time. It was quite the experience with all the strange things that happened.
So much is revealed in this final installment. I have to say I was really shocked by all the revelations throughout the book. There is never a dull moment, there is always something exciting happening throughout. New friendships, new realtionships and non stop action. I was happy with how it ended. I just wish there was more books to this story. I would love to read more into the future about Lucy and Hunter. I highly recommend this trilogy is you haven't started reading it yet. You need to, it's so good!...more

I didn't want to put it down even when I had to. I really liked the first book in this trilogy but this one was even better. I can't wait to see how it all ends in the final book.
Sam and Drake have escaped and are now hiding with Drake's friend Brad in California. But things are far from good. Sam and Drake's relationship is tested by other people and circumstances throughout the story. It's far from a story book romance. But I'm still rooting for them all the same. They try to keep a low profile but the seeker has people working for him to track them down.
Luke and Lucy have their own problems back at the school. The campus has been overtaken by the bad people with a guy named Mr. Black who is in charge. The siblings have been invited to join a revolution with other students to overtake the school and somehow escape. Nothing seems to go as planned. Luke and Lucy are sent out on a mission that goes all wrong too. But Lucy comes back with an item that even she is not sure what it is.
The book is action packed from beginning to end. We get to meet some new characters and learn a little more about others. I liked how the story switched back and forth between what was going on with Sam and Drake and then with Luke and Lucy. There is a lot going on the whole time. The last part of the book has another new part to this story that I'm sure will be played out in the final book. I recommend this book if you enjoy fantasy with some sci-fi in the mix....more

Evie and Quinn think all the craziness with the servants is behind them after the third incident. What they don't realize is that the worst is yet to come. Not only are the servants still planning on converting Quinn but they also want to destroy Evie. Together along with their friends they must find a way to stop this from happening. Evie and Quinn also must figure out how to get their souls to bond since they are "true soul mates". Will they survive or will they be unable to save each other?
I, like Evie was very skeptical of Minerva, aka "M", Dylan's new girlfriend. Even though he trusts her completely I still felt there was something off about her. Then when Ronald and his brother would warn them about someone close to them not being who they think, well I was like run away from Minerva. She has a very unique story that she shares with Evie. She also has some really awesome super powers. By the end of the book I really had come to like M like everyone else, she was a great character and brought something unique to the story. Dylan, I still loved him throughout. He by far is one of my most favorite characters of any book series that I have read.
I could go on and on about everything that happened but what fun would that be for other readers? No, I will keep all the goodies to myself. You need to read this truly amazing love story mixed with shepherds and demons. I will say that there are many happy, humorous, romantic, suspenseful and sad moments. There are lots of twists and turns with many surprises and things that really shocked me. I was on the edge of my seat and my heart was pounding most of the time. This is by far one of my favorite trilogies. If you have not started this book or trilogy I recommend you do. It is SO GOOD! This e-book was provided to me for review.
