I enjoyed this installment well enough. It was great for Vlad to get his own story. I really enjoyed the story line as well. It was pretty action packed and fast paced. I like the history and the mystery in finding the villain. I would recommend this book for vampire fans, pnr fans, and Frost fans, however I do have some complaints. Maybe it has been awhile since I have read a book by Frost, but I do not remember her ever using the word loins so much. I like PNRs, but I hate cheesy romance scenes and this book had it's share. I usually can over look it, but I could of swore that Frost's previous books didn't have the cheese with the romance. Maybe I have just forgotten. Maybe it was always there. But it bugged the hell out of me while reading Once Burned.(less)
