Which is not surprising since Gordon is suppose to be Byron. I can not say that I know much about Byron, I just never found time to read anything of his. So I do not have a basis to judge Gordon and see that he is true to his characters. Same goes for Keats and Shelly.
I am not sure if I like this book, I certainly do not hate it. But I do think that it could be much better. I have a distinct feeling that the author was making fun of authors (maybe even the readers) of vampire YA (could be adult too) novels. Which I find in bad taste since the author who is making fun of others did not do such a great job of writing a book.
All the criticism aside, like I said this was a book about Gordon and his sexual exploits from very young age. Every chapter is about Gordon and his new conquest, girl of his age, teacher, sister and so on. It is not that I minded about his exploits at first, but I started to because that was all there was to Gordon. Every chapter there was new conquest. Mind you the story is being told by John Keats.
I don't think I liked any of the characters, Gordon, Shelly even John. They are all very off putting and part of me thinks that these are not the characters one can warm up too. They all have their own personal issues to deal with, some worse than others. Some reactions I did not understand, especially scene between Shelly and her father (I don't want to give too much away).
Overall this was good read, I did not love, but rather I kind of like it. Might be more appropriate to say I liked first have of it but than I started to dislike it. Kind of balances out to kind of liking it LOL. Writing was not to bad, there should have been more character development. I do have to say that book cover is great.
I give this book 3/5 STARS - HAPPY READING!!! (less)

Also I did not know that this book is a prequel to the Steampunk Chronicles series; I been wanting to read The Girl in the Steal Corset for some time now. Right after I finished reading I went to my local library to look for book one. I knew that they had it because I remember sing it.
This was a short novella with Finley Jayne as the main protagonist. Finley is a strange girl, bit rough, but she is kind and smart. I also liked the dark side of Finley, it was interesting and I wished that it was bit better portrayed but this is only novella author has time to do that is book one. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was well written and it can be said that this is steampunk type of book. I often come across books that claim “steampunk” but never deliver. This is not the case with this book; I can not wait to start reading “The Girl in the Steal Corset”.
Finley is an interesting character and this novella was a great introduction to Finley. The author gives you enough information to keep you interested in the story, but not all is revealed which gives me something to look forward to in the other books in the series. I liked Finley dedication to Phoebe and her mother and how she took her position seriously, maybe too seriously. I wished that the ending was more complex, it was too easy in my opinion.
Overall this was a great read and I looking forward to “The Girl in the Steal Corset”. It was well written, lovable characters and interesting setting.

I started to read Gameboard of the Gods without really knowing what it was about. It took me a while to read it because half way through the book I kind of went into a reading slump. But I picked it up again the other day and finished it.
I really enjoyed this book, interesting story line and some great characters. I really liked Justin and Mae, they were such a great characters. Very well written characters too. I enjoyed the chemistry between the two and liked the fact that the relationship between the two is not straightforward and easy. But rather you can tell that there are going to be a lot of obstacles ahead of them.
I was bit lost on some of the details of the world building. I really did not understand what it meant to have Cain or what the big deal was. I must have missed something while I was reading. Other than that book was well written and very entertaining. I can not wait for the second book in the Age of X series; I wonder what adventures Justin and Mae will get up to.
Secondary characters were also great and very well integrated into the main story. I loved how the author incoperated the religion and myth into the storyline. It gives the story very nice and interesting twist.
Overall this was a great story and I enjoyed every chapter. I give this book 4/5 STARS - HAPPY READING!!!(less)
