The heroine jilted the hero five years back for reasons she considered were just, she was 21, young and didn't know who she was so she wrote him a letter and went to find herself, first in the Peace Corp, then as a teacher and sometimes volunteer for the police department which was how she got the hero caught on solicitation charges.
Chase as usual was doing a story when he was wrongly nabbed and when the heroine bails him out he recognizes who she is, he is not happy, because she humiliated him and contrary to what she thought he was deeply affected by her leaving. What I liked was that Chase was not immediately willing to be in touch with her yet alone get back with her, he was being groomed to take over his grandfather's publication company and was also dating a suitable woman but she was not the heroine, who he noticed had changed into a woman. For one she was confident and self assured and knew her place in the world.
She approaches him to be a role model to a Navajo student of her's as he is half-Navajo but the hero knows nothing about that part of his life and they get together again but then something happens that makes the hero realize that his life isn't what he thought it was, and he too has to deal with self-discovery.

What I liked best was that we met the characters when they are in college, the heroine about to complete her undergrad and the hero who has just joined Harvard Business School and dreams of making his family's Italian restaurant big. He meets her when his family sets him up with the heroine's Italian friend and they click but he has different goals so he doesn't call her, but a month later he sees her again and from then on they are inseparable while the hero still tries to in some way control what is going on between them because his life wasn't ready for love and commitment and because the heroine came from a life of wealth so when his father takes ill, he leaves college and the heroine, telling her that she is not ready.
The book opens almost three years later then and Nick the hero crashes at the same friend he was setup with saying that I have run away. Nick was always the perfect son, he made his family business a success and almost married a girl they picked out and then he had enough and is floundering now and then he meets the heroine who has grown up and become successful as a tour-guide and moved on. Seeing her he feels envy because she knows who she is and regret and pain for letting her go.
You know in books that have second chance at love my complain usually is that they get back together so fast and it wasn't the case in this. The heroine ignores him because she is wise and not willing to go back in the past but somehow she can't stay away and becomes friends with him and makes him friends with Carter, the guy she is kind of seeing, I mean how great was that. When I was reading this book it struck me that I have actually read Carter's book.
We see Nick grapple and comes to terms with who he is and meant to be. This time around another shot was all upto the heroine and Nick didn't have any say and control. Carter was his friend and perfect for the heroine and what I liked was that Nick respected this friendship, letting the heroine choose what she wanted. All in all a good book.(less)

The heroine runs a business, coaches a little league team, she is resourceful as hell and a maiden aunt whose niece comes crying about a broken heart and she goes off to make that man marry her. She goes undercover as his secretary and well I loved how she handled everyone at the office and even the hero. She was delightful and it was hilarious seeing the hero's niece and how the hero tricked her into marrying him. All in all I enjoyed the book.(less)

In this one Isaiah finally gets his turn, he has been affected by Beth's defection and like all the characters in this series has had a tough upbringing and his mom now wants to come back into his life, which he doesn't want, his life is on the right track, he and Noah live in an apartment, he is going to get his certification and a better life. And then of course things change, when Rachel comes into his life.
Rachel comes from a life of privilege but that doesn't bring her happiness because her and her other four siblings live in a family that is their dysfunctional, their job to keep their mom happy and all the pressure falls to Rachel because she is a replacement of her sister who died of leukemia. In her family her parents don't really see her, her panic attacks are getting worse but she can't tell because it will disappoint and sadden her mother and now her father wants her to join a charity where she will have to do public speaking. Even when her twin finds out, it doesn't matter, Rachel has a role to play. The only happy spot in her life is her car and the freedom she gets driving.
Then Rachel meets Isaiah during a street race and a cop chase ensues and Rachel experiences her first kiss. Then, danger comes calling and both of them have to earn money fast. I have to say this that I enjoyed the whole host of characters, Abby, the drug-dealing teen, Rachel's twin Ethan, womanizing brother West, even the social-worker.
The weakest link for me in the book was the romance, it just didn't wow me that much but I have high hopes for the next book.(less)

The heroine came from poverty and has spent the last eight years proving that she has made it, so the fancy car, fancy clothes, fancy apartment are her symbols of success and then she is sent to the country to look into an insurance claim for her company and from the start everything changes instead of antiques she finds a burnt barn and animals and the hero Ethan, a vet who calls her Frannie, makes her fall in love with a calf and before she knows it she has ditched her designer clothes for the normal one's, has let her hair down, is a part of the town and Ethan is asking her to marry him.
This of course comes crashing down because she hasn't yet reconciled herself to who she is. It was funny that Ethan came from wealth and ran away from it while the heroine ran towards it. I loved it when the hero told her that he was in love with Frannie, the girl the heroine tried to suppress. Overall the book was just so sweet and cute and aww worthy!(less)

It starts with the present day with the crazy Bradfords' we love and know and then moves back to the beginning in London and the start of the bickering and hatred between the seven year old heroine Elizabeth and the 12year old Robert Bradford and then the book jumps ahead to when Elizabeth is almost 24, waiting to inherit what her godmother left her and having turned down more than 50 proposals. Elizabeth hates the whole society and ton crap and doesn't want to get married and if she does get married, her reason will only be love.
Robert is the black-sheep of his family and hates the whole ton related crap as well and is his own man, and is planning to move to America but before he can do that he has to get his brother James married again to get his mother off his back. Robert hasn't seen in Elizabeth in years, she made his teenage years hell so that is why he doesn't recognize her when he escapes from the madness of women hoping to marry him. A connection is forged in this meeting and so is divesting of their clothes and Elizabeth's virginity so it is a shock to meet again inside and learn their real identity and also the fact that James has his eye on Elizabeth.
The book was humorous and sexy as hell. Elizabeth wasn't a typical society belle instead she helped people and wanted to be independent but she had to do so within the boundaries of her family. A fire leads to Robert and his family moving in and when these two aren't trying to ignore the chemistry between them, they are trying to one up each other. That scene with Elizabeth under Robert's desk was funny as well as so hot and also that scene when Elizabeth says let's consummate our marriage. I liked seeing them together and how caring Robert was of Elizabeth even when it came to his precious food.
All in all I enjoyed the hell out of this book!(less)

Now they both are all grown up with Luther being a ladies man and the heroine just having been publicly humiliated after her engagement broke off. To help the heroine, the hero her friend decides they will pretend to court. It was fun to see the town's shocked reaction to the hero, a handsome man courting the heroine. I loved how the hero valued the heroine and saw the beauty in her. We have a subplot with hero's brother and one of the hero ex's too. All in all a good friend to lovers story.(less)

The heroine is a triplet and the hero and the heroine's siblings broke up a month back because of what turns out to be a misunderstanding and in trying to get them together, they end up falling for each other. The romance moves fast defying believability but it's so sweet that you buy into it.(less)

The heroine has spent her life pleasing her father while the hero has done the opposite. These two have ignored each other despite being neighbours for two years but it changes when the hero finds a little girl sleeping in the alley. They get closer because of Becky and fall for each other. The book brought a smile to my face and I wanna read the sequel.(less)
