Let me first say...that I've read many romance books since 2009, but I've never read a book that made me such an emotional wreck after reading it, that it took me a few days to calm my nerves before I tempted to type up a review of it. Oh my goodness, Sylvia Day, knows how to make a reader go through an emotional roller coaster in zero point one seconds. ( at least that's how long for me ) When I got the email from Netgalley saying I was approved to read "Reflected in You", early...I scared my family by screaming and jumping up and down like my oldest daughter does when she gets something she absolutely loves. Gideon Cross, how I missed you the last 5 months. While every mom out there is going crazy over the Fifty Shades Trilogy, I've been going crazy over the Crossfire books by Sylvia Day and going gaga over Gideon. *sigh*
(Just to let everyone know...no Spoilers here...I want everyone to enjoy the book...because this is a must-read for everyone who loves contemporary erotic romance)
"Reflected in You" picks up where Gideon and Eva left off. Eva has been seeing Gideon at his place and vice versa. She still does not know what to think of what her room mate, Cary has done and she knows something is going on with him. Gideon is having to take a business trip and he wants Eva to go...actually he orders her to go since he can't seem to get enough of her. Of course, Eva needs to have a moment with Cary and come to terms to what he did in their apartment. Gideon agrees to let her go on her own little trip for a weekend with Cary, but with of course with some stipulations...that she must stay in one of his hotels and be protected.
Eva is noticing changes with Gideon when they get back from their trip. He keeps acting cold one second and hot the next. She has no idea what is going on, but she knows he's keeping secrets. One of those secrets could evolve her and her past creeping back up to get her.
Gideon, plays the domineering, over-bearing, protective, and secretive alpha male again in "Reflected in You", but he also opens up a bit with some of his secrets on what happened to him and why he is the way he is. He becomes very odd in this book and several times I wanted to beat his butt for Eva because he was acting like a jerk towards her, but then he would throw in, "trust him", every once awhile, that maybe think, he was up to something. (Seriously, the man made my blood boil second and heart race another second...he was driving me crazy...GRRRR!...but I still loved him).
Eva was being her usual self in "Reflected in You". She was jealous over Gideon's past loves and getting upset with things that Gideon kept doing and she would find out later on the web. There was a time in the book with one of Eva's decisions, that I backed her 110%. She was fed up with Gideon and just wanted to live her life as normal....not with Gideon being cold-hearted and hiding stuff from her. Her family and friends were even worried for her.
Sylvia Day didn't disappoint at anything when it came to the sex scenes between Gideon and Eva. (Can I just say...I'm happy to have read that Gideon and Eva went to the Outer Banks in this book...since it's my second home) =) That was the best part of the book when it came to Gideon not getting on my nerves.
The ending though, blew my mind and left me wanting more. How could Sylvia, leave me hanging like that. She also answered all my questions that had been bugging me since the beginning. Her writing style is fantastic and flowed really well. If you've read books before that had you keep flipping because you just couldn't get enough...that is how Sylvia's is. Like I stated in the beginning, "Reflected in You" is a serious roller coaster of emotions. I went from happy, smiling, bawling like a baby, boiling hot from anger, and about to throw down with one certain character in just a few seconds. I'm telling you, in warning so you are prepared ahead of time. Be prepared to have tissues, and be prepared not to bend your book or hit your Kindle a couple of times because you just want to jump in the book and whoop some butt.
I'm really looking forward to the final book to the Crossfire Trilogy because there is still plenty of questions to be answered and I want to see if Gideon and Eva will finally have their happily ever after. They both deserve it. Both characters have their own issues. Let's just say Eva's problem gets fixed and Gideon's is just now coming up in the story.
All I can say is...this book made me LOVE Gideon even more. How could anyone resist, one sexy, billionaire, twenty-eight year old who owns half of Manhattan (at least that is how Eva describes him and I have to agree with her). *sigh*
Now if only it could be December already so I can have my final fix of Gideon. =)
I have been waiting patiently to read C.J.'s latest release, Vanilla on Top. This is definitely a FAVE for 2013Review also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I have been waiting patiently to read C.J.'s latest release, Vanilla on Top. This is definitely a FAVE for 2013 and I cannot wait to read the next installment. Discover your inner bad girl, and set her free....hello...is that not catchy? I know after reading this book, I need to set my inner bad girl free more often. =) "Vanilla on Top" should not be compared to Fifty Shades or even Crossfire. This book is in a league of its own. I had a hard time putting it down and of course my husband kept giving me the weird eyes whenever he would see me reading this from my iPad. He was always asking what I was smiling about...he has no idea. =) Be prepared to be blown away from the first chapter in the book with a very heated, steamy scene between Heather and Tony. This book is about Heather Pierce taking control of her life. She is tired of being the good girl and decides to set the bad girl inside of herself finally out. She is new to it, but when she finally gets the courage to set her free, she is about to have some of the wildest times with the one man who she met at a speed dating event, Tony, and he will have a hard time resisting her. The only thing is Tony is about to change Heather's world once Heather finds out the truth on where he works and what he is up to. He never knew Heather and that his job would end up almost ruining her career.
C.J. Ellisson does an amazing job with writing a book that actually has a female character taking over the dominant role in the bedroom, and without using the tools you would find in a sex shop, but instead every day things that make it romantic. She even writes a male lead who is able to let the female take over in the bedroom, or whenever, or wherever. Tony definitely needed Heather though since he was used to being in control. She managed to tame the man from his own ways. She reminds us how women could play the vanilla Dom in a relationship. Heather had her insecurities at first, but in my own opinion she overcame those insecurities. The best part of Heather is that she used fantasies that she was comfortable doing and she happened to be a romance reader. (And she even referenced she never read Fifty Shades...which she may be a fictional character, but I definitely am one of those readers who has not read it...I'm really trying to now...but it may be my first DNF ever) C.J.'s writing style is unique compared to other contemporary romance or erotic writers out there, which makes me adore her even more. She does not follow in others footsteps. She takes a different route into the genre. There is no comparison with Vanilla on Top to other erotic books. If you are a fan of contemporary romance or erotic genres and want to read a book where the roles are switched, you definitely need to read "Vanilla on Top". Warning....sex scenes are throughout this book. Who knows maybe you as a woman, will find out you have a inner bad self yourself after reading this book. I know I must unleash my inner bad girl more often. (It does drive the hubby crazy) =)

I was contacted by Tribute Books to participate in a Blog Tour for "Yesterday's Daughter". I definitely couldn't pass it up. I'm always up for readingI was contacted by Tribute Books to participate in a Blog Tour for "Yesterday's Daughter". I definitely couldn't pass it up. I'm always up for reading a book from a new author who I have never read from. From the minute I picked up the book, I knew it was not like any other book I've read before. Sallie Lundy-Frommer takes you into a Paranormal World where Vampires are destined to have "Life Mates". They also feed from each other to sustain the best nutrients...not from humans. ***Spoiler Alert****She also throws in human villains who want nothing more, but to have the blood from Vampires to become an immortal themselves. Your first introduced to the character Grace aka "Sapphira" (which I have to say is a Beautiful name and fits the character very well.) She has no idea where she came from since she was thrown into Foster care when she was a child. She knows she's different, but she's not sure why. She drinks blood...which she has no idea why. Until one day, she happens to run into Malachi in her home. Malachi is no one she's ever met before and he starts fitting in the pieces on what she is and that she is destined to be with him. She's starting to believe him because she has dreamed of him before, but she doesn't know why. Malachi warns her though, that their our things out there that want to hurt her and he wants to take her back to their world so he can protect her. That's when all hell breaks loose and we find out there's other things that bump in the night...and poor Grace has to deal with things she's not used to...but Malachi does everything in his power to help her through it. Sallie Lundy-Frommer definitely has a different writing style then I'm used to. I was a little confused at first when reading it because it would jump back and forth from different characters points of views. I would have to back track and read over a certain page again to catch up and find out what exactly happened. Although, it is a great thing she did that because you get all aspects of what's going on and what happens when it leads to the ending of the book. You'll be in "Awe" at the end of the book when you find out what actually happened to Grace and why she was separated from her Vampire World. I wanted to jump into the book and kick some ass for her. I just have to say this to end my review...Malachi stole my heart in this book and he definitely is a perfect "Life Mate" to have. I'm jealous of Grace "Sapphira" for having him. I look forward to reading the next book from Sallie Lundy-Frommer and finding out what is up next for the characters. ...more
This book definitely has my favorite kind of storyline in it due to being a computer geek and former informatioReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
This book definitely has my favorite kind of storyline in it due to being a computer geek and former information systems technician in the Navy, where I worked for a few years in the Network Security field. Now I am actually pursing a degree in the field now. =) The minute I read the synopsis of the book I knew I had to read it. This book not only brings you romantic suspense, but a look into what the biggest threat is to today's world...cyber crime. People tend to forget how dangerous their computer is and what it could do and what people can actually make it do. This book makes people wake up about the concerns on what people out there can do to steal your identity and your information without you even knowing it. I will not go into detail on the story because I feel I will give too much away. Instead I will go over every thing I liked about this book.
-Nancy C. Weeks definitely did amazing research in the field Dr. Sarah Tu does in the book. In fact, I liked how if anyone who has not worked in the field is able to understand the terms that someone may not know. For example...botnet, zombie computers, viruses, etc. -I absolutely adored Dr. Sarah Tu and Jason McNeil. They both were definitely met to meet each other and come together. It definitely broke my heart though on how they actually met each other, but in the end, it all came down to the one person who helped link them together, Hanna (Sarah's sister). -The plot of the story is definitely interesting and will suck you in from the beginning and you will want to know why Sarah is being targeted. You will also want to know the real why Hanna was targeted as well in the beginning of the book. -The saddest part of the book, made it even the best part of the book. Poor Sarah went through a lot in this book, but no matter what she had her sister with her, it just took someone else to help her realize it. -The villains in the story...do not think it is one person because it will end up being another person in the end. You will be shocked to find out what Sarah finds out what is going on in Noran, the company she works at. -Did I say already that I loved Jason McNeil...he stole my heart the minute he was in the hospital with Sarah and Hannah. He is a FBI agent and Nancy C. Weeks did another fabulous job of his job detail and what his job was in the book. He tried everything to be patient with Sarah and it was hard for him. (I definitely think Sarah should of taken it easy on him)
I was literally sucked into the book and wanting to find out who was behind everything. Nancy C. Weeks did an amazing job on her debut book and I look forward to what she has in store next. Be warned from the first page to the last page you will have a hard time putting down this book. It's full of action, suspense, romance, and a lot of tension between the characters (Jason & Sarah...because they both are not able to open up until later).
I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to romantic suspense fans out there. You will enjoy every minute of this cyber crime thriller by Nancy C. Weeks....more
This is my second book by Eden Summers that I have read and she definitely kept me turning the pages again. "CoReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
This is my second book by Eden Summers that I have read and she definitely kept me turning the pages again. "Conceal Desire" is one sexy, steamy emotional book that will make your emotions go haywire. I know there were times I wanted to go through the book and slap some characters around for what they were doing or not doing. (One character who seriously was going to get slapped was Max Sutherland....I despised him)
Beth Graison has worked at Sutherland & Son for awhile now and she has always respected the Sutherland guys at work...until Max Sutherland gives her a proposition, which makes her question his integrity and it bothers her more than it should. She then becomes traumatized on what Max offers her and ends up doing something that is not normal of her doing. Dean Sutherland, son of Max Sutherland, ends up helping her out because he has never seen Beth out of sorts. He has always seen her smiling and hard at work in the company. Beth has been in love with Dean since the first day she started working at the company. Unfortunately, Dean is her boss and he has been labeled as a player with the ladies. Beth does not want to get involved with a boss and does not want to ruin her career. Until, the one day that Dean helps her, she realizes that Dean may have another side that other women do not know about. She's not sure if their connection is real and if Dean is just playing her around like the other women. Beth is about to find out how Dean really feels about her.
I do not want to tell more about the storyline because I am afraid I'll give too much away. I loved reading "Concealed Desire". I could have read it in one sitting, but of course having two girls and a husband who love to interrupt while I'm reading....it was not possible this week. Dean Sutherland was one sexy male, who definitely could win me over anytime. He was such a sweetie with Beth, even when he did not know what to say because he never was in a relationship before. Beth though was hard headed when it came to Dean and I wish she would have listened to what Dean had to say in the beginning. I was a little upset on what Dean's father, Max was trying to propose to Beth and I was even more upset with what Dean's father did before to Dean. What kind of Dad does that to their son and he wondered why Dean did not want to be close to him? Grrrr!!
Eden Summers definitely is one author who is an auto buy for me. Her first book I read, "Sneaking a Peek" had me jumping in a cold shower after I read it and "Concealed Desire" definitely had its moments as well. If you are a fan of Eden Summers previous books you will definitely love "Concealed Desire". I recommend this book to contemporary romance readers out there everywhere.
-The best part of the book was the ending with what Dean kept doing to Beth whenever he asked her something. (You'll have to read it to find out)-...more
I love diving into books that involve shapeshifters. I definitely do not regret one bit about losing s4.5 stars Review can be found on Book Lovin Mamas
I love diving into books that involve shapeshifters. I definitely do not regret one bit about losing sleep at night so I can read this book. Thank goodness for coffee in the morning to keep me going. Sara has created a whole entire different world of shapeshifters that I’m not used to reading. Bring on clans of different species of shapeshifters and that is what the Amoveo is all about. I love it!! ”Unleashed” tells the story of Samantha and Malcolm. You get to experience from both of their points of views in the book, which I always love. Sometimes just being in one character’s point of view can get boring at times. I like to know what’s going on with the other characters too. Samantha is moving back to her hometown due to her artwork not selling in New York. Of course, she doesn’t realize that the world she knows, is about to be turned upside down on her…but in my opinion in a GOOD way. She gains a hunky, sexy, protective male, who any woman out there would not mind having as a mate. She’s been having dreams for awhile about a wolf, beach, and this sexy man who invades her dreams…but she doesn’t know who he is. She even has been painting a wolf into her works sometimes. What does it all mean to her? Those dreams will eventually lead her to her mate…which is Malcolm. He will let her know of everything about the Amoveo Clans and that they are meant to be together. Of course, you always have villains in books too…which you will be introduced to humans (the Caedo) who despise the Amoveo Clan because they think they are an abomination. After 30 something years, the Caedo are showing their faces again and wanting to get rid of the Amoveo Clans. All because Samantha is special. She’s a hybrid, half-human, half-Amoveo (which has never been known and some of the Amoveos area skeptical about it). You will even get a Caedo point of view in the book…which I couldn’t believe who the Caedo was at the end. Definitely wasn’t expecting the villain to be someone right under their noses. I also wasn’t expecting something else at the end with who was trying to kill Samantha. Oh boy…what a twist. You will also be introduced to other characters in the book…Kerry, Dante, Richard (he sounds dreamy…maybe because he’s the Prince), Nonie (Samantha’s grandma…which is definitely one of my fave characters), and Davis ( just to name a few ). If you do read this book…pay attention to the Amoveo’s traditions, etc, especially the mating part. That is definitely a new twist on mating unlike any other book I’ve read. I recommend this book to all shifter lovers and paranormal romance addicts. You will definitely enjoy this new shapeshifting world that Sara has created. I love the ideas of eagles, foxes, lions, wolves, etc I’m looking forward to reading the next installment to see who else gets mated. =) I already have a clue though from this book....more
I read this on a road trip to Richmond, VA and this book happens to be based in Richmond since that is where AlReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I read this on a road trip to Richmond, VA and this book happens to be based in Richmond since that is where Alana Shelton goes to Reckless Beat's concert. (Coincidence...I think not...Hubs had a convention to go to and I found the opportunity to finally read the book) =)
Eden Summers you know how to write a book...my dear. I LOVED every part of this book and now I am officially a groupie of the band "Reckless Beat" even when they are fictional. My husband kept given me the strange eyes and asking me why I was constantly smiling/giggling while reading on the trip to Richmond. Oh...if only he knew. I could not share with him what I was reading due to little ears listening at the time in the car. This is not a book you share with your children around.
Alana Shelton has lived a sheltered life and when she meets the sexy guitarist, Mitchell Davis for the first time, she is about to find out what she has been missing out on. She was taught by her mother that men are not to be trusted, but Mitchell proves her Mom's theories wrong. Mitchell takes care of Alana due to an incident he put her in. He has never felt this way with a woman before. The minute Mitchell spots Alana in the crowd in front of him, while he is performing, he is determined to meet her. There is something about Alana and he feels maybe if he has one night with her, she will get out of his system. Unfortunately...he never expected what happened to happen. His band mates are even telling him that he should not just walk out of Alana's life due to his possessiveness and love he keeps showing for her.
Mitchell...what can I say about the sexy guitarist, who stole my heart the minute Eden described him...he definitely won my heart. He was very protective and caring of Alana. He even took it slowly with Alana at first and it was Alana, who wanted more. Alana was such a sweetheart. She had no idea who to trust after she found out certain lies that came to surface. I would have reacted the same way she did. Blake...is one character I want more of. The scene between him, Mitchell, and Alana would probably have some people reacting differently, but he was such a sweetie to Alana and he busted Mitchell several times. He literally got Mitchell to realize what would happen if he walked away from Alana. I want more of Blake. He definitely deserves someone to love.
Eden did a fabulous job on the first book to the Reckless Beat novels. I loved page in this book and the steamy scenes...let's just say I wish I would have not read on a road trip. I needed a cold shower after several of the scenes. One in particular between three characters. Oh boy!!! That is the scene where my husband caught me smiling like the cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland.
I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to contemporary romance readers and readers who love sexy rockstars in their books. You will fall madly in love with the band members of Reckless Beat. Just fair warning, I have dibs on Blake. =)

Passionate Addiction is the second book in the Reckless Beat series and it happens to be my favorite member ofReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
Passionate Addiction is the second book in the Reckless Beat series and it happens to be my favorite member of the band, Blake’s story. *sigh* I fell in love with him in Blind Attraction and in this book…I fell even harder.
Eden Summers made me smile, laugh, and cry (several times), while reading Passionate Addiction due to the truth of what Blake has gone through and continues to go through. I feel for the hot and sexy tattooed guitarist. He managed to get through the addictions he had thanks to a certain beautiful Aussie online friend named, Gabrielle. He met her on one of the online chat support groups and she helped saved his life from getting worst.
Now, Blake wants to thank Gabi in person for saving his life and he is finally going to meet the one person, he cares so much about. He ends up surprising her before his band gets to Australia on tour at Gabi’s birthday event with her friends at a bar.
Gabi is surprised to see the sexy, tattooed friend she has talked to for years now. Feelings of him are going to brew even further once they finally meet and both of them are going to be inseparable. Unfortunately, Blake’s past is going to rear it’s head and try to ruin the one person in his life that he loves. Gabi’s past is also going to show up, but that is because she has dealt with lost before. She wants to keep Blake from going back to his past, but Blake is trying to fix something that he should of taken care of a long time ago. He thinks he can manage it by himself, but so many things are going to jeopardize what he has with Gabi and their friendship and love is going to be put through so much.
Blake is the sweetest and most loving person ever. I thought he was such a sweetie in Blind Attraction, but in Passionate Addiction, he shares so much more. He opens up on what he has gone through and continues to go through, and even with all his dark secrets coming out, I still love his character. He manages to fight what he goes through thanks to Gabi, but he forgets to realize he had the strength already inside him. He just needed someone to help guide him.
Gabi is such a caring person towards Blake and she has gone through lot to in the past due to what her brother put her through and what happened to him. She helped the broken Blake find himself again and make him realize he has the most loving people all around him that would never judge him for what he did…instead they would support him 100%.
We get all the other Reckless Beat characters in Passionate Addiction as well. There is continuation of Mitch and Alana and what happens to them in this book. (I LOVE those two). We get some drama in Passionate Addiction not only with Blake and Gabi, but with some others in the Reckless Beat band.
I’m intrigued to find out more about Mason and Sean after reading this book and I have to say Mason is one dirty minded individual, but he grew on me because he is not afraid to speak his mind. LOL
Eden Summers did another great job on making me love Blake and making me wish Reckless Beat was a REAL band. I love these guys!! They have taken over my life since the minute I read Blind Attraction because I feel for every one of them. In a world of craziness due to their popularity, they manage to realize they are a family that will do anything for each other.
Oh…and let me not forget that Blake has some moves to him. He knows how to sweep a girl off her feet…literally in this book. The sexy scenes between Blake and Gabi will have you grabbing for the iced cold water to cool yourself off and maybe even making you take a VERY COLD shower too. I’m telling you…I’m still hot and bothered. ( I’m a little jealous that Gabi got to lick at and touch this sexy god ) =)
I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to readers out there that love books about hot, sexy rock band members and love the contemporary romance genre.
I look forward to the next book in the series and hope it comes out soon because I need me some more of my fictional Rock Band that has won my heart. Oh..and sorry for the long review…but unfortunately this is one book that deserves the gushing and loving. =) I could go on and on why I loved this book…but I would give too much away..and you have not read the first book…you definitely are missing out. Get to it…GO BUY the first book and then get this one. You will LOVE both!!!!

Claudy Conn has done it again...she sucked me in another Regency Historical Romance and made me fall in love with the characters and their world. Lord Wainwright is now going on my list of FAVE sexy, male characters that I would to marry...Oops...do not tell my hubby. =) Chelsea is wanting to make her mark in the world and find the man who will sweep her off her feet, just like her friends keep talking about. She's about to turn 19 and she wants to meet the one person who will make her happy for the rest of her life. Unfortunately, she's dealing with Aunt drama who has not even been there for her since she received guardianship of Chelsea. She just wants Chelsea because of the trust money she has. Chelsea runs to her Godmother's house to be around someone who really adores and loves her for who she is. Daisy, her godmother, wants to find a perfect suitor for Chelsea and enrolls her nephews help to get Chelsea out there in front of the eligible bachelors eyes. Lord Wainwright does not want to watch over a child, at least that is what he thinks of her when he first sees her, until Chelsea has a make over and now Lord Wainwright cannot keep his eyes off of her. He knows it is wrong to have feelings for Chelsea, but he cannot help himself. There is something about the beautiful Chelsea that has him in a bind. Augusta, Chelsea's Aunt, who is nothing, but a vindictive woman is even more angry with Chelsea since Chelsea seems to be stealing away Augusta's handsome rogue. Now Augusta wants Chelsea out of the way and she has recruited her brother to help her sweep Chelsea away from the man she has had her eyes on for awhile...and her brother is ruthless enough to do anything to have Chelsea for himself since money is involved and his greedy for more. Chelsea is about to be thrown in a world she has to become adult quick and she finds herself in love with a man who may belong to another and a world where men will do anything to have her because of how much she is worth.
Seriously...I love Claudy Conn's regency romances. She has me fall in love with the rogue every time and she also has me loving the female characters as well. Even the secondary characters are ones that I fell in love with. Not only is Chelsea having her moment of love...but so is her Godmother, Daisy, which is definitely a match made in heaven. Daisy deserved a happily ever after as well for everything she had gone through. The villains in the story are ruthless and it seems it is a family trait. They will do anything to get what they want. Claudy Conn definitely knows how to transport you back in time where men tried everything to sweep a woman off their feet so they can marry them. I will say this, Lord Wainwright can sweep me off my feet anytime. I'm jealous over Chelsea. The steamy scenes between the characters will require you taking a cold shower afterwards though, so be prepared ahead of time.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading historical romances, is a fan of Claudy Conn, and loves to fall in love with a rogue who becomes tamed because of one beautiful young lady who changes his ways. Claudy Conn even gives you a sneak into other stories that she has written after you read, "Runaway Heart", which will make you want more anyways. I know I cannot get enough of Claudy's books. =) ...more
H.D. Smith is a new to me author and I’m glad I was introduced to her latest release, Dark Hope through a blogReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
H.D. Smith is a new to me author and I’m glad I was introduced to her latest release, Dark Hope through a blog tour. The synopsis alone caught my attention and the fact it’s Urban Fantasy is why I wanted to read it.
This book is like no other story I’ve read before and I love when authors can create something that takes me on a wild ride I’ve never been before. Here we have the main character, Claire who is the Devil’s assistant. She has his mark due to her taking her mother’s debt to the Demon King.
Claire gets caught in the crossfire of her Boss’s oldest son, Junior who ends up dead in his office. She becomes determined to find out killed him and may be in the process she finds away to get out of her binding with the demon king. Here is when the story really gets interesting, but of course I’m not going to spoil it for anyone and give away the best parts. H.D. Smith will throw Claire into several obstacles to find out the truth on why certain people want to have her as their pet and why she truly is settling a debt with the Demon King. There’s the devil himself (Claire’s Boss) otherwise known as the Demon King, the Pagan Queen (who is ruthless as anything…I hated her in the story), and the Druid King (who should be Claire’s protector…but yeah..he didn’t seem to be). These three all want to either protect, kill, torture, confuse, or stress out Claire in some kind of way in the book. I felt terrible for the girl. That’s not all she had to deal with though throughout the book.
Then there’s the four hellspawn who are sadistic, crazy, and completely off their chain in their own kind of way that want to hurt Claire. (They play a major role in the story and sometimes I got confused in certain parts of the book with these four. They were weird though at times. Really weird…but psychotic too.) Mace for one is a freaking crazy psychotic demon who is either secretly in love with Claire or just wants to torture her for fun. I literally wanted to punch him at times in his face or kick him where it counted for Claire. I was scared for her when she ended up with him. He literally gave me goosebumps not in the best of ways when reading his parts in the story. (Right now I’m getting freaked out about him)
H.D. Smith does not make it easy for Claire to find out answers in this book, but she held her own throughout the book. Claire is one tough chick and she definitely made the book interesting. I felt sympathetic towards her throughout the book because when the truth came out, she didn’t know who to really trust. The poor girl just wanted to be happy and normal. I wanted her to be happy and normal. Poor chick literally went through purgatory, hell, and several other places that she never wanted to go through in the book.
If you looking for a book that has lots of dark twists and turns, and intense action-packed scenes with drama…then this is the book for you.
I look forward to next book now, especially how H.D. Smith left me hanging at the end. (Yup…warning there is a cliffhanger.)
I give this book 4 full moons and recommend it to urban fantasy readers out there. This is a book that has demons, druids, and pagans that you definitely don’t want to piss off.

Every Second with You picks up where The Thrill of It left off at. (Which if you have not read The Thrill of It then you need to read that book before reading Every Second with You)
Lauren Blakely continues with Harley and Trey’s story in Every Second with You, and where there relationship has progressed to. Lauren spills out the biggest juiciest thing that has happened to Harley and Trey. Harley is scared to tell Trey the truth because she’s afraid he’s going to leave her. Trey is dealing with his own pressures still of getting over his sex addiction. He’s tempted immediately by his past due to a past sex interest coming back after so many years not being around. She has someone with her though that has caught Trey’s eye and made him even more nervous.
Harley is dealing with the majority of the pressure in this book because her life definitely has changed. She now has something else in her life that could impact her to be a better person and not be like her mother. She also had her past that crept up in this book as well, but she was able to deal with it pretty quickly. I was really proud of what she ended up doing to come to terms with what she did before. She grew up so much in this book, and I definitely believe it was what the big change that made her grow up even more. She turned a 360 in this book and I adore every decision she made.
Trey had several moments where he almost lost my trust, but he was able to pull through. His love for Harley definitely helped him get through his troubles. The ending of the book made me feel very sympathetic to him. He went through so much and he was just trying to cope with what happened. He had Harley though to reassure him and Harley’s family they found out about in this book.
I enjoyed reading the continuation of Harley and Trey’s story. I was curious to know if they tied up loose ends, and they definitely did. They did it together, which made their relationship much stronger. Harley’s mother is still a B****. I could not stand her in the first book, and I hated her even more in this book. It was certain characters in this book that helped Harley get through what she was going through. She definitely needed someone in her family to be there for her and not just Trey. Lauren did an amazing job making me love Harley and Trey’s story, and I loved how she made it all come together for them. There is a moment though that is going to make cringe and get emotional. Oh boy…did I almost bawl like a baby. Actually…I should say two incidents. I won’t mention what they are because I will spoil the book. Let’s just say…you will see another side of Trey that will make you love him even more.
I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to New Adult readers out there.
I look forward to reading more books from Lauren Blakely. She definitely has become an auto-buy Author for me. =)

I am going to be reading the 3rd and 4th book to this series for blog tours and I told myself to read the first two books first. I hate reading out of order and I am glad I read "Just this Once" because I definitely LOVED every minute of this book.
Hannah Montgomery is a work-aholic who has never had fun in her life. She decides to finally take a vacation somewhere exotic to take some time for herself. She ends up in New Zealand, almost drowning and having a sexy guy save her. Of course this is not your normal sexy guy, in fact, Hannah has no idea she has met a professional rugby player, who happens to be the captain of the team. Drew Callahan takes a break every once in awhile when he is off from playing rugby to do fishing and when he happens to save the damsel in distress, he never figured he would fall for the American woman. She is stubborn though because she does not know what to make of him and his gestures. He is completely baffled, she has no idea who he is until the truth finally comes out and he has to say, he actually likes the fact she does not know who he is. It's hard though for him to get her to open up since she is all about doing her job and also trying to still take care of her brother and sister, who just want to live their lives.
I definitely have found the perfect book to make me want to visit to New Zealand, or actually live there eventually. I want my own Rugby player, after reading this book. I loved the storyline and of course the secondary characters as well in "Just this Once". Hannah definitely is one strict, hard-headed, strong-willed, determined character who will put a man in his place. She had been taking care of herself and her two siblings for so long and working so much, I can understand why she did not want her heart broken or want to take Drew seriously. How could she resist Drew for so long though? I would have a hard time, he is such a sweetheart. He stole my heart the minute he rescued her. Drew understood what Hannah had issues with and he took his time with her. He definitely did an amazing job trying to win her over. When Hannah and Drew finally hooked up, there were definitely sparks flying between them both. =) I loved Rosalind James throwing in the dictionary of New Zealand sayings in the back of the book as well because I had a hard time with some sayings that Drew would say. I learned a lot from this book about New Zealand and also rugby...which I need to watch more of. It is way better than American Football...at least in my opinion it is. =) I definitely cannot wait to read the rest from this series now. Rosalind James is now a favorite author of mine because she made me fall in love with Rugby, the men that play Rugby, and also a new place I need to vacation too. (Adding to my bucket list now) =) I highly recommend this readers who love contemporary romance and love sports romance stories as well....more
I finished "Vampire Revamped Dreams" within a couple of hours because I had a hard time putting down my Kindle.Review also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I finished "Vampire Revamped Dreams" within a couple of hours because I had a hard time putting down my Kindle. =) Brandon has been lonely for centuries now. All he wants it to sire his own vampire, but his sire, Vasilije, will not let him. Every time Brandon brings him a possible one he wants to sire, Vasilije tells him 'No'. Brandon has no idea why Vasilije will not let him sire and he is determined to find at least one that he eventually can. Arden, who is running for her life one night comes across Brandon. He makes her a offer that she cannot refuse because he saves her life from another vampire who wanted to suck her dry. Brandon could not let that happen to her. She becomes his maid, but in the mean time she has no idea what her duties are. Brandon of course thinks she's doing a fine job of her duties. He is determined to make Arden a vampire and to sire her, but he has to ask Vasilije for permission first. Brandon knows if Vasilije says no about Arden, he will throw a fit. He knows she is different from the others because the minute he saw her, he had feelings for her. My thoughts on "Vampire Revamped Dreams" and story of Brandon and Arden...are that I LOVED every minute of reading it. Like I stated before, I had a hard time putting down my Kindle. I told my hubby to leave me alone for awhile so I can finish the book. (And of course he listened) =) So far the pre-quel has me intrigued with the storyline that Gabrielle has created for her vampires. I love Vasilije even when he was being difficult to Brandon, but he had his reasons. Brandon is such a gentleman to Arden, especially when he takes her into his house and takes care of her. Oh...and when it comes to the bedroom with Brandon. Wow!! It is every woman's fantasy to have a sexy man come into their life who can seduce in the right ways, like Brandon does to Arden. I really enjoyed the prequel and look forward to diving into Vasilije's book next. Yes...he definitely made an impact in my life the minute he was introduced in this book. I look forward to seeing who hooks up with him because he seems to be a ladies man. I recommend this book to paranormal readers out there, fans of Gabrielle Bisset who have yet to read the prequel, and vampire readers who needs their vampire fix. =) If you haven't read the Book #1 or Book #2 of the Sons of Navarus, yet, you definitely should read this book first. =) Believe me, you will not be disappointed. You will fall in love with the characters before you even read the other books. Now, onto Blood Avenged because I do not think I can wait any longer. =) ...more

I had the pleasure of reading an advance copy of "A Demon and A Witch" and now I'm hooked onto this series that Eve Langlais has created. This is my first actual book written by Eve that I've read, but I actually had several of her books on my TBR on Goodreads. I'm now going to spend this summer diving into the other books from Eve Langlais so I can wait patiently for the next Welcome to Hell book. Ysabel was burned at the stake 500 years ago while her supposed lover watched her burn. Her lover's Mom accused of her of being a witch because she didn't want her with her son. When she was burning she promised to have revenge on all who accused her. How does she promise revenge...she sells her soul to Lucifer himself where she can come back and revenge her death. Those souls are to suffer for eternity in hell. She's forced to be Lucifer's assistant for 500 years though. Now her contract is almost up...but unfortunately Lucifer has some bad news. Those souls that were supposed to burn in hell for eternity have escaped which makes her contract still in effect even though her time is almost up. Here's the kicker, now she's forced to burn everyday at the same time she was burned 500 years ago due to what was in her contract. She's teamed up with a playboy half-demon (fire demon) Remy who always has something sarcastic or sexy to say, to find those souls. My thoughts on A Demon and His Witch is I loved it from beginning to end. I was laughing my butt off the whole entire time with Ysabel and Remy. Both of them had serious issues with each other. Ysabel hated Remy and Remy couldn't stop picking on her. Remy kept trying to pursue her, but Ysabel had not been with a man for 500 years since her ex-lover betrayed her. She's had NO trust in a man ever since. Would you blame her though, her supposed lover watched her burn at the stake. I love Eve's writing style. =) I was addicted to this book the minute I started reading it. I love reading a book that makes me fall out of my seat because I'm laughing so hard. I loved the steamy, tension between Remy and Ysabel. Remy is irresistible though, how could she keep denying him? I know I would have issues. I also was loving Lucifer. He acted like the father of Remy and Ysabel, so many times he had to put both of them in their places. Here he just wanted to get ready to play a golf game with his brother, but they wouldn't leave him alone over their sexual tension. Lucifer had so many tricks up his sleeves for them both. =) "A Demon and His Witch" is a great start to a new series. The next book "A Demon and His Psycho" will be out this August, which I'm already counting down too. I recommend this book for paranormal romance readers out there. If you're looking for a great paranormal romance book and a book that will make you laugh so hard...you need to buy this book or at list add to your wish list. You won't regret it....more

It was a different book that I wasn't used to reading. It took me away from Paranormal for awhile and I have to say...I really ENJOYED this book. I would've finished this book in a couple of days, but other obligations stepped in...one of them being, me not getting enough sleep at night due to a rocking and rolling baby inside of me. Naps and going to bed early took me away from reading for awhile. =( This book had me in tears at the end. It's even worst being 35 weeks pregnant and reading this book. I don't suggest someone being pregnant reading this book. Wait until after the baby and then you can read it because you will be bawling at certain points in the book like I did. I fell in love with the characters Damien and Esmeralda. They went through a lot in this book, but in the end they conquered it all. Elise Marion definitely wrote the love of both of these characters perfectly and how nothing could stop the love between Damien and Esmeralda. Damien not only had to deal with love trials...but he had to deal with other family issues too. His family is being stalked by someone who wants to kill them all. For what reasons, he has no idea. When he does eventually find out who it is, it's already too late for some of his family members. Poor Damien who always was the one who got himself into trouble and loved being with women....had to step up in this book. He had help though...from Esmeralda who he never though tcould capture his heart. A Gypsy girl who happened to dance at a function in his castle one day and he had to know her. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves Romance. I also recommend it to anyone who wants a book that will capture your heart. I look forward to the next book in the series. The Third Son's Eplilogue at the end...let's you know who is next in the series to find love. =) Thank you, Elise, for giving me the chance to read and review your first book in the series your writing. You definitely have a fan who will keep up with your work. ...more

She creates characters that I feel for and love automatically because of their struggles and strengths. She manages to put characters together that help each other in some way. In It’s Always Been You, we have two characters who should hate each other. One trying to do her job as a lawyer and the other trying to mess up his job being in charge of a company that he didn’t want to be in charge of. Captain Ben Teague is the one who wants to avoid being in charge. He’s forced to and now a past colleague is charged with something that can’t possibly be true. He never thought someone who saved his life would end up doing something that is unforgivable and hurtful. Here comes Major Olivia Hale is in charge of getting the soldiers that don’t deserve to be in the Army put out for good. Ben’s colleague is one that is on Olivia’s radar and she can’t fathom why Ben would side with what his colleague did. Especially, when Olivia has her own demons of her past creeping up, making her want to pursue putting Ben’s colleague in jail and worst out of the Army. Of course Jessica does an amazing job on making these two characters feel for each other. She doesn’t make it easy for either one of them though. I think they fought more than anything, but in the end they complimented each other. They needed each other, they were just stubborn to talk about past problems to each other. It seemed to be not trusting thing between both of them. I had a hard time putting down my Kindle while reading this book, but struggled during certain parts of the book because believe me certain issues were definitely bothersome. I won’t go into detail on what the colleague did, but let’s just say it’s something that would bother a Mom like me. I’m very protected of my family and for me this was a touchy subject, but Jessica did make it come to light what was happening in the end. It made me cry even more for the individual. I of course felt more for the victim too. All the person wanted was someone to step in and help, but not hurt the individual. I give this book 4.5 moons and recommend it to readers out there that enjoy reading contemporary romance. If you enjoy military reads this is the book for you too. Because of Jessica Scott I need to read military contemporary romance right now. I’m way too addicted thanks to her Coming Home series. Tall, Dark, and Vampire has now become my favorite book from Sara Humphreys (of course...knowing Sara, I will end up loving the next book even more...I have a hard time deciding since her books always manage to capture my interest the minute I read the first page). This debut book into her new series, Dead in the City, was speculator from beginning to end. I had already loved the character Olivia from Undone and I was intrigued to find out more about her in Tall, Dark, and Vampire and who she ended up with.
Olivia is my favorite lead female vampire in a while. She definitely is not to be messed with. She had a hard transition into the vampire life, but she was able to deal with it in the end. She ended up losing the love of her life, but life is about to change for her, when life throws her the one person, she has been missing.
Doug is a detective and he's trying to solve the killings that are happening in the city and when he meets the person of his dreams literally, he cannot get her out of his head.
I loved the passion and tension between Olivia and Doug. Doug did have his moments where I wanted to smack him, but in the end, he came around. He just had it rough after what happened to him, but once Olivia explained everything, it all came together. I loved how Sara threw in the twists and turns in the story. The killings that were going on and the rogue vampires, she definitely threw me off at the end on, who was actually doing everything. I was not expecting it at all. Sara Humphreys does an amazing job in the shapeshifter world with her Amoveo Legend novels and now her new series that branches out to her vampires are fierce, sexy, and dangerous. I definitely want more of her vampires after reading Tall, Dark, and Vampire. I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to paranormal romance readers out there and readers who love reading vampire romances. One of the main reasons why I say this book has become a fave from Sara Humpreys is how I actually cried at the end. Seriously, was not expecting that ending and I'm so glad it happened. Olivia and Doug needed that ending. Everything they went through...that had to be the BEST ending ever.

Serialized novels are my new addiction. I rather pay $0.99 for 75 pages for a few ebooks that lead up to the very last book...instead of paying $12.99+ for a ebook that some publishers are doing now (some of the ebooks are even more than the print copy of the book). Plus, serialized novels, make you want more after you read each short novel. (They also come out pretty quickly...which is always a plus for me)
Sara Humphreys takes us into the world of the Princes of Hell in her first serialized novels of Asmodeus aka the Demon of Lust. Sara did a fabulous job introducing Asmodeus and the other Princes of Hell. So far Asmodeus is the one, who has intrigued me the most with his way of trying to win over someone. He is the Demon of Lust, but Kai Kelly, the one he is supposed to seduce is able to resist him. Any gal, who can resist the Demon of Lust gets major props.
Asmodeus is definitely a character, who will win over any reader due to his charm and sexy ways. He helped Kai in this book with what she needed done at her Grandfather's house that she inherited. Asmodeus did have a secret agenda to helping Kai, but in the end, he won me over with that charm of his. I will not go into describing the book any further because like I said in the beginning its a very short novel and I will be spoiling it for anyone, who wants to read it. I am one of those, who hates spoilers in reviews. If you are a fan of Sara Humphrey's other novels, you will enjoy Asmodeus tremendously. If you have never read any of her novels before then what are you waiting for. Here's your chance. I definitely enjoyed this first short novella of Asmodeus and look forward to reading the rest of the short novels soon. It kept me entertained at every page and I was addicted to Asmodeus's character as soon as he was introduced. I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to readers of the paranormal romance genre.
Note: The second part of the Asmodeus: The Demon of Lust is now available at Amazon, B&N, and Kobo. ...more

Window is a very different kind of erotic romance story that I have never read before. This tale involves no touching or even talking, but instead has some very erotic moments in front of a window with a very sexy neighbor across the way. It definitely is a very steamy and hot read that will have you wondering if the two characters will ever meet. The
By day, she’s a day research assistant and by night, she’s stripping and teasing for the neighbor across from her. She has no idea who he is, and what he does for a living, but she is all for making impression with him. In fact, she even comes out to say, she is usually introvert, staying in reading romance novels, but she’s being very bold and brave with the sexy man across the way. She moved to Paris to make her mark and she definitely is at her day job. She gets to explore the beautiful city of Paris and eat all the wonderful food there and Michelle Renae did a fabulous job of describing everything and making me want to travel back to Europe again. How I miss the food overseas and the shopping. *sigh*
Michele Renae gives you a story of a female character trying to do something different and not rush into things, but to enjoy life to the fullest. She wants to guess about the male across the street and just have fun. We get just the female point of view, and not the male’s, but that makes it even more interesting. He definitely cares for her, especially during one scene, where she has all kinds of thoughts going through her head due to jealousy.
I look forward to reading what happens next in the tale of the two window seducers and hopefully, they will eventually get to meet or at least talk to each other. I hope the female character is open up more to finally meet him and not be scared about it.
I give this book 4 full moons and recommend it to readers out there looking for a different kind of erotica story that involves just looking and not touching. There are just windows to separate them and space between the buildings. I will say this, they do change it up and keep it spicy. =)

As soon as I found out about Angel Kin, I made sure to jump at the chance to read it since I have been patiently waiting for Cain’s story. He intrigued me in Angel Bait, so I definitely was already a fan of his. In Angel Kin, we have the female character, Katie Logan who is trying to stay out of trouble, but her friends need her. She ends up going back to her old ways and stealing from a snake shifting politician. In the process of stealing from him, she happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. She ends up witnessing something she shouldn’t have and now her life is in danger. She goes on the run and her brother suggests The Bound Ones could help her. The Bound Ones are are half-angels that are assassins that keep the supernatural in line. Unfortunately, the minute she meets the Bound Ones she accuses one of them of being the murderer. It’s their duty though to protect her from what is to come from their enemies, The Renegades. What did I think about Cain’s story? I loved every minute of finding out more about my favorite character from Angel Bait. His alpha-like qualities and eagerness to find the people behind what was happening in Angel Kin, definitely was everything I expected from him. I did find out something in this story that he had a brother named Abel that actually plays a major role in Angel Kin. I liked how Tricia had the Cain and Abel story, but gave her own twist about the two brothers. These two definitely were complete opposite of each other, but Abel got the short end of the stick for what he had to go through. (You will have to read the book to find out…no spoilers from this gal) I would love to know what happens to him after what happened at the end of Angel Kin. What I loved most about this book though was the world-building, and how Tricia explained The Bound Ones and The Renegades. I also enjoyed that the romance in the story didn’t take precedence, and Tricia was able to give us some heated moments, but not too much to take away from the plot of the story. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy heated scenes, but every once in a while I want a book that keeps me engaged to what the characters are having to fight through. One of the reasons why I’m not giving this book 4.5 or 5 moons is because of the character Katie and how fast-paced everything went towards the end. I knew Tricia was wrapping everything up at the end, but it tended to veer off course a bit on what needed to be tied up. There is also the case of Katie being too scared of certain situations (such as meeting the half-angels). Seemed she had trust issues and the case of stealing for her friends. I would have loved to have her friends take debut to in the story. Otherwise, I’m definitely waiting for the next book in the series because this definitely was a very enjoyable, action-packed book. I give this book 4 full moons and look forward to the next novel in the Angel Assassins series. I recommend this book to urban fantasy readers and fans of angels. There is a prequel to this series, Angel Bait that definitely recommend reading first, otherwise you will miss out on Jarrid’s story. I will say it over and over again, angels are my favorite supernaturals in the paranormal genre. I did veer off course for a bit on reading them due to other genres taking over my life, but glad that Tricia has managed to get me back to my favorite supernatural creatures and I have to say I want more. =) I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review....more

Sara Humphreys is one Author who I adore very much. She knows how to write a great shifter story that sinks me in from the beginning. When I found out she was writing a short novella for her Amoveo Legend Series, I think I squealed like my daughter does when it's Christmas morning. A short novella that captures my heart until "Untamed" releases...sign me up to buy. Actually...for everyone who is a fan of Sara Humphreys, or are readers out there that are thinking about reading Sara's books, Undenied when it releases October 2nd, will be FREE. =)
This short novella, which is only 43 pages long as per my iPad....can be read within a hour or less (of course without interruptions, which I made sure nothing interrupted me...That included two girls and one hubby, who were sleeping when I read Undenied.)
"Undenied" is about Boris Zankoff and how his mate comes into his life unexpectedly. He has been dreaming about her for awhile now and he knows she's fully human. Of course with the dilemma going on with certain shapeshifters wanting only pure bred shapeshifters matching only with full blooded shapeshifters, Boris has a problem on his hands. He must protect his mate no matter what. Boris never though, his mate, Lillian would show up on at his business's doorstep one day, asking for his help...it was a dream come true for him and of course for Lilian as well, since she has been a gypsy for the longest time and has never really had a family to love her.
I'm happy that Boris finally gets his happily ever after in this short novella because of what happened in the last book, Untouched. I definitely clicked with Lilian. The poor girl had gone through so much and she just wanted to find her place in the world and her family did not seem to agree on what she wanted to do with her life. Boris and Lilian are a definitely perfect match and I hope we get a little taste of them more in future books.
This short novella will give you a small taste of the Amoveo Legend books and Sara definitely delivers another book that had me entranced from the beginning. I'm looking forward to her next book, Untamed that comes out next month. =) If you want a quick, sexy read definitely get a copy of Undenied. =)...more

Unrequited is apart of a new chapter of the Beachwood Bay series…which is branching into The Callahans. In Unrequited, we are introduced to the sweet and innocent Alicia and the bad boy rock star, Dex. These two are complete opposite of each other, but they definitely know how to get the sparks flying.
Poor Alicia has her heart broken and she can’t face the one person who broke it. So instead, she ends up kissing a complete stranger that gets her mind off the troubles she’s having. The complete stranger she kisses ends up being a very sexy rock god. =)
Alicia and Dex hit it off immediately, which I usually do not like in books, but these two definitely were meant to meet each other. Alicia is the character who has loved one guy for a while now, but he never gave her the time of day, and here is her chance to forget about that guy. Dex is beyond determined to win her over, and show her that no guy should have ever broke her heart. She’s worth more than that. Alicia needs to help Dex as well…especially with what he is dealing with. He is trying to have a normal life…but he loves playing music and being in a band. Although..it has it’s problems. ***The scene where he gets on stage to sing and plays his guitar…I definitely fell for him. =) *sigh* Gotta love a bad boy rock star! Although, I only get a glimpse into why he’s bad boy. I want more!!!
Unrequited is a short novella of Alicia and Dex, so there is definitely more to come in the next book with these two. Melody Grace only gave me a taste of what is to come…and I look forward to finding out what Dex does to get Alicia to open up more. I’m also rooting for Alicia to get over the guy she has been in love with for so long. Melody definitely was very descriptive on how Alicia was feeling, and I just wanted to hug the poor girl…(I know she’s fictional…but she was very heartbroken) =(
I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to New Adult readers out there. You do not have to read the previous Beachwood Bay books to read Unrequited. You can read each books as a standalone. I’m going to go back and read the previous books and count down to Alicia and Dex’s next book. I need more of these two.

If you haven't started reading this series I highly recommend you read them in order, otherwise you will miss out on reading Elena and Raphael's relationship growing. I friggin' love Elena and Raphael's relationship even though Raphael can be a tad overbearing at times with his protection. Elena wants to be able to do her job as a Guild Hunter, but Raphael is a little weary on letting go without one of his Seven being with her. She's still new angel and with that comes weaknesses that Elena needs to live with now. In Archangel's Consort, Elena gets a chance to learn how to fly better, but she is still grasping onto her new life with the beautiful wings that are attached to her. In this installment of the Guild Hunter series, Raphael's mother is showing signs of awakening from being asleep for thousands of years. She wasn't stable back in the day and she most likely won't be stable in the present. Raphael's mother wants her son, but Raphael has to protect everyone else and may end up having to destroy the one person who made him. It's going to be epic battle between mother, son, and others that get in between in Archangel's Consort. Nalini knows how to keep the action going from each book she writes in this series, and I swear each book gets better and better when I'm reading them. I even loved the intimate moments between Raphael and Elena in this book because they definitely have grown further together. Not everyone is on board with Elena and Raphael together, especially since she is his consort. Although, in my opinion Raphael needs Elena even more now since his mother is about to show up. They complete each other and keep each other sane. There are many things that come up in this book that bring to light about Elena's past and her present. She is dealing with a lot still and something comes forward that makes her realize how she became a Guild Hunter. Let's just say lots of shock moments in this installment that will keep you flipping the pages to find out even more shock moments. Ahhh! =) I'm telling you Nalini has a way of sucking the reader in the story, which is why I'm moving right along to the next book in the series. I need more. I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to PNR/UF readers out there. This is one series that has now become a favorite and I look forward to reading way more of this series. =)...more
Forever is my first book by Mary Wasowki and I love being able to find new-to-me authors through blog tours. I was intrigued by Forever due the synopsis of the book and since it’s New Adult, I needed to feed my addiction to the genre.
Forever is about Reese Mitchell and Walker Reed and how they end up falling in love with each other. The poor girl Reese has a rough life. Her parents are no longer with her and she’s had some very extreme circumstances happen to her that made her uncomfortable. She has her grandparents and her friend Freddy, but the minute she meets Walker, her whole life takes a 360. She’s immediately drawn to the sexy stranger that has grown up privileged and already has a career passed down to him thanks to his father. She is going to realize though that Walker has one of the family members in his family that is not taking it kindly that she is with Walker. Now her love with Walker will be tested in Forever and if their relationship will be able to stay together forever.
There were definitely twists and turns in Forever for the characters. There were times that Reese drove me crazy especially at the beginning of the story. I was a little weary on how she fell for Walker so fast, and then at the end what happened to her. The poor girl deserved some happiness though and she never had it easy. Her life would be great one moment and the next moment she was being knocked down. I felt bad for her. Walker on the hand, he was infatuated with Reese throughout the book. He fell for Reese just as fast as she did, but he did have a jealously side. He really ticked me off towards the end of the book though. He did a 360 in character after an incident and he gave up, but he still had feelings. It was confusing at times because I thought he was acting more like a girl than Reese was with his feelings.
The reasoning behind 3.5 stars is due the fact I’m in a Creative Writing class and it makes me over-think things when I read now. The beginning of the book went by so fast, I had to re-read some parts to make sure I read it correctly, and it seemed to slow down a bit in the middle once Mary switches from Reese’s POV to Walker’s POV. (For example, Reese meets Freddy so quickly than all of a sudden she’s meeting Walker the same way). It sped up again at the time, but it wasn’t as bad as the beginning. I really enjoyed the different POV’s, but was confused when Walker’s Dad came in the mix. I did like the idea of his POV in the story because of what was happening just needed a warning ahead of time. Mary did great building up the angst once the truth came out with Walker’s Dad and what was happening. I was in shock on what was really happening.
I do recommend this book to New Adult readers out there and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I need to find out what is going to happen between Walker and Reese. Mary left me hanging on what is going on with Reese and of course what is going to happen to Walker after what he went through. He went through a big emotional turn at the end. Yup…I will admit tears were falling at the end.
Be ready for an emotional roller coaster in Forever and be ready for twists and turns you weren’t expecting to happen. It’s New Adult…so you definitely may feel the need to cuss the characters out. At least that is what I did to Walker at times. =)

5 moons - "She Can Hide" by Melinda Leigh She Can Hideis the fourth book in Melinda Leigh's She Can... series and this one definitely had me on the ed5 moons - "She Can Hide" by Melinda Leigh She Can Hide is the fourth book in Melinda Leigh's She Can... series and this one definitely had me on the edge of my seat just like the others did. Melinda describes into great detail what the characters are going through, and she makes their situations intense and extremely nerve-wracking. One of the main reasons why I will leave the light on and snuggle with the husband while reading Melinda's books. In every book in the series, I have yet to figure out who exactly the bad guy is until Melinda reveals who it is at the end. She's one writer that can keep me guessing and still leave me in shock no matter what. Every time I think I figured out who was behind everything in She Can Hide, Melinda surprises me with a twist and leaves me going back into the book looking for any clues. I should have figured out who was exactly behind everything, but Melinda does an amazing job on keeping her plot twist hidden. I love this about her writing style. We have two characters that come together in She Can Hide unexpectedly. Ethan ends up finding a car submerged in an icy lake, and coming across Abby who is fighting for her life due to the car going into the water. Abby has no clue what happened though, and she doesn't know if she should trust Ethan. Ethan though is determined to find out what happened to Abby, and why she would forget such a big accident like the one she was in. Abby has been hiding from certain people and has had a past that still affects her life. She doesn't want to really open up to Ethan until something else happens that makes things come to light. Melinda gives us these two characters who end up helping each other in different ways. Ethan was such a sweetie in the story and I adored how he was determined to get Abby to open up. Abby was secretive for a reason in the story and I didn't blame her for not trusting anyone. Everything she went through in the past and present in the book will make any reader feel for her. We even have secondary characters in the story that end up going through their own issues that pertain to the main characters. I loved how Melinda weaved them all together and in the end had it all come together. I enjoyed every bit of She Can Hide even when it had my adrenaline going and heart pumping trying to figure out what was going on. I give this book 5 full moons and highly recommend it to romantic suspense readers out there. If you enjoy a book that keeps you guessing this is the book for you. Be prepared for some very hair-raising situations though. You could read this book as a standalone, but for me, I would recommend reading the other books first. Oh…and may I just say, I LOVED that Melinda wrote Zeus in the story. Zeus is Abby's dog and he's a mastiff. He plays a very important role in the story, well to me he did. I loved him the most out of the story and not only because I have a mastiff myself, but because Melinda detailed mastiffs personalities very well. Zeus reminded me of my handsome mastiff, Rambo and how he is very protective of his owner. Don't ever mess with his Mama. =) I received a complimentary copy of the book from the Author in exchange for an honest review....more
I'm beginning to wonder if Gabrielle Bisset loves to make people cry...because this book definitely was aBook Review also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I'm beginning to wonder if Gabrielle Bisset loves to make people cry...because this book definitely was a tear jerker. Oh boy...was the water works happening when I was reading this book. Terek, is one of the Sons of Navarus, and he is one vampire who definitely takes his siring very seriously. He has sired over thousands of new vampires. Some of the vampires live under one of his households that he frequently visits. One night, he comes across another vampire biting a human and then he witnesses the vampire being staked by a hunter. The girl who was bitten is left for dead and it is up to Terek to save her, so he takes her back and sires her instead. She is not a typical woman though. Ilona, was just leaving from a party when she ends up getting herself into a dilemma. Now, she's a vampire and is forced to feed from Terek. She does not want to cooperate at all. She's not taking to the whole entire vampire thing all too well. She just wants to die. Terek of course, has never given up on any of his vampires he has sired and he will not give up on her. He has his other female vampires who are helping him with her while he helps out with the other Sons of Navarus. The Archon, who are hunting the Sons of Navarus are now going after vampires they think are the Sons of Navarus and they also are attacking the vampires the brothers have sired. It's up to the Sons of Navarus to find out what the prophecy really means for the Order (no spoiler...sorry...not giving away anything...If you want to find out more, you need to read this book).
Let me just say this, between Vasilije and what he had to ordeal in this book (the first Son of Navarus in "Blood Avenged") and Terek and what he had to go through with his vampires. I had a hard time not crying. I felt my heart hurt for both Vasilije and Terek. And don't get me started what Vasilije put Sasa through. Grrrrr!!! Can I just say...I love Thane in this book and how he stepped up to do what he did. He had every right to help out a friend in need. My favorite parts in the book were when I learned more about the background of Terek. Seriously, he is not a vampire to mess with. That man can kill you in an instant. Do not mess with his family! He has gone through so much, I do not know how he handled it so well. He did finally have Ilona to help him through some of it. She is definitely perfect for him. Ilona was a little difficult at first, until she finally gave in to Terek. (Ummm...who can resist him though?...I wouldn't be able to)
Gabrielle does an amazing job on putting a reader through so many emotions at once. She definitely is one amazing writer and she definitely has a fan for life. I look forward to reading the rest of the Sons Navarus books. I'm telling you now, if you haven't read these books, you really need to. If you're a fan of paranormal erotic romance, and love vampires, you will love these books. Do not forget the tissues though because you will be crying especially in this book. I give Terek's book 5 moons...and he definitely gets a little piece of my heart, but Saint has my full heart still...until maybe Thane or Dante's book. (Those two...I need to know more about) =) ...more
Falling In definitely has the same elements of my favorite movie, but it's definitely more seductive and wickedFull Review posted at Book Lovin' Mamas
Falling In definitely has the same elements of my favorite movie, but it's definitely more seductive and wicked. Lucian is very domineering in Falling In and he may have a cold/hot attitude in the book that may drive readers to hate him. In my opinion though, it made me adore his character more. He grows in the book towards Evelyn and he's very protective of what he cares about. Evelyn is the sweet, innocent girl at first but she has a different side to her that is going to come forward throughout the book. She doesn't make it easy for Lucian and she likes to keep her vulnerabilities a secret, but she knows how to handle her vulnerabilities.
If you enjoy a story that has all the usual elements of contemporary erotic romance with some bdsm elements then Falling In is for you. I give this book 5 full moons and I really look forward to reading the next book in the trilogy. There is a slight cliffhanger for readers that need a warning ahead of time before diving into the book. I know some readers don't like cliffhangers, but in this case you need it. =) It makes you want more after reading what certain characters have planned.

4 moons - Forgiving Reed by C.A. Harms Forgiving Reedis the first book in C.A. Harms Southern Boys series and it definitely started off with this read4 moons - Forgiving Reed by C.A. Harms Forgiving Reed is the first book in C.A. Harms Southern Boys series and it definitely started off with this reader grabbing tissues. I was prepared ahead of to be a mess while reading Forgiving Reed, but C.A. Harms put me through the ringer from the beginning. Forgiving Reed is all about dealing with a great loss of a loved one and then also dealing with forgiving the past. Kori is the character that is going to deal with the loss and forgiveness. Let's just say she's going to go through a lot in this book, but she's going to have a very strong support system to help her out. One of those supporters is going to end up being her first love who broke her heart years ago. Reed knows he let the one person he loved down, and he will do anything to make it up to her. Kori is forced back to her hometown after losing her son's father, Blake in an accident. She is trying everything to get through it day by day without Blake, and it's going to take some of her family and friends to get her back on her feet. She ends up coming face to face to the one man who made her leave her hometown and she's not going to let the past die that fast. From the beginning to the last page of this book, I was rooting for Kori to have a HEA. She deserved a HEA for everything she went through. She couldn't just get over what happened and it took her a while to accept help from everyone around here. Reed immediately intrigued me due to how he came back into Kori's life. Don't get me wrong, what he did in the past was wrong, but he proved every step of the way he was a changed man. Kori did drive me bonkers with her protectiveness over Rhett and letting people get close to him. She also couldn't stop meddling in other people's business towards the end of the book. Those were the only flaws with her character I couldn't connect with, but otherwise she was an amazing mother to Rhett and a devoted person to Blake and not forgetting about him. C.A. Harms did a superb job on getting Kori that happiness she deserved. She threw in some obstacles for Kori, but she made it through. I also enjoyed getting Reed's point of view at the ending and flashbacks of the past with Kori and Blake. Readers will get a glimpse of Blake in the beginning, but C.A. Harms has his character live on throughout the story. I give this book 4 full moons and recommend it to readers of the contemporary romance genre. Readers that enjoy southern boys will definitely enjoy Reed. =) He's the guy that the town knows very well because he's always there to lend a helping hand and he has the southern gentleman manners. I was a little skeptical reading this book at first because I thought it would not capture my attention....butReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I was a little skeptical reading this book at first because I thought it would not capture my attention....but now I'm looking forward to the second book. That should tell you, that I really enjoyed this book. It's much different from any other paranormal romance book out there. Noel has just been dumped by her boyfriend, and now she's taking it pretty badly. Let's just say she lost her job over the break up because she did not show up to work. Now Noel is having dreams of a boy that is invading her dreams. She knows something is different about him. The boy is now telling her that he should have never involved her because now she's being hunted down by a unknown world she had no idea existed. (witches, vampires, etc....) And she's one of them...but she's different and she's about to find out what she is from the boy in her dreams and from close friends who have been keeping an eye on her. Noel is now on the run with other supernaturals just like her...one being her best friend and another being her dream boy's partner who has an interest in Noel. What is a girl to do with two boys? My thoughts on "Dreamwalker" was that it was a very interesting book to read. Like I stated before, I was skeptical at first...until it got really steamy in certain parts and I understood the storyline a little more. Just a warning: There's a love triangle in "Dreamwalker". Sometimes I always lean towards one boy...but this book, I had a hard time choosing because I love them both. The only thing that bothered me was Noel. It really was just the beginning that I did not like her character, but that's because she ran into hiding once she was dumped by her boyfriend. Towards the end of the book though, she was one strong-willed character who kicked butt. I will not spoil the book and what it is about...because I will give too much away. There were times that the book was slow a bit...but than it picked up and surprised me. I love Andrea Heltsley's writing style because it is WAY different from others. She takes you into another world of paranormal. Now that I've had the chance to read this book from Andrea, I plan on reading her other book "Dissolve" when I get some free time this summer. Recommended to anyone who is a fan of a different style of paranormal romance. ...more
Hard as You Can is the second installment to the Hark Ink series by Laura Kaye, and it definitely had the suspeReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
Hard as You Can is the second installment to the Hark Ink series by Laura Kaye, and it definitely had the suspense and twists from the first book…but add on way more.
First off, I highly recommend reading Hard as it Gets first before diving into Hard as You Can. You will never know what happened in the first book if you try to read the second book first. (Believe me you will want to know about Nick) =) Laura Kaye picks up the dilemma of the first book in Hard as You Can, but with different characters playing the major part in the book. We are introduced to Shane and Crystal in this book and they definitely were meant to meet each other at the right time.
What can I say about the characters before going into what I loved most about the book. I was not really fond of Crystal due to her staying with a guy that continuously hurt her physically. She kept coming up saying why she needed to stay with him, and then she had her sister who had no clue what was going on. Crystal finally won me over a bit when she was there to help her sister and then at the end of the book. She finally realized what she needed to do to get away.
The minute Shane is introduced, he’s actually in disguise, but he had already won my heart. He’s the gentleman of the bunch who doesn’t handle well with women and children getting hurt. He has a past he’s trying to get over on what happened with his little sister, so he’s got a soft side. He also is scary to mess with when it comes to loved ones getting hurt. I loved how he was there constantly for Crystal, even when she gave him such a hard time. He was definitely persistent…and he definitely had ways of charming a girl. =)
I loved the suspense of Hard as You Can and how Laura Kaye answered some questions from this book, but of course opened up new ones. She gripped in from the first page due to what as happening to the characters. She’s continuing with what happened to Becca and her brother from the first book into this one. There’s some closure in this book, but Hard as You Can just makes you want more of the Hard Ink guys.
I give this book 4 full moons and recommend it to romantic suspense readers out there, and readers that enjoy sexy ex-military members who are out for vengeance.
