The book warns you in the beginning to be prepared for some really, really erotic situations and this book is meant for readers that are older and maturer and can handle the situations that Pynk writes about. (21+ and older) This is not your normal book. It takes you into a world of escorts and their jobs and their job is not easy. They endure some really terrible situations and sometimes they endure some very pleasurable ones. Madam Money Watts operates the Escort service, Lip Service, but it does not only include escorting. She has to keep her escorts situations secret and of course what the clients want secret as well. Money's escorts are her sister, Midori, Leilani and her male escort, Kemba Price. They do things that the state and the country sees as illegal, but to keep it hush, hush, they must have a middle man to take care of the booking and code names for the clients. Because the clients are big time politicians, celebrities, and sports players...and if the truth were to get out, they would have their reputations, jobs, and families on the line. Money is about to have her job and her life turned upside down when her sister's ex-pimp wants either Midori back or Kemba instead. Money is not having it of course. She also has issues with a client going to far. Her sister Midori then takes it upon herself to keep seeing the client who keeps taking it too far and one night when she does see him, her world will turn upside down, when it was turning up for the better. Then there's Money's other escorts Leilani, who just wants fame and Kemba who is most chosen by the lady clients, but may have a secret of his own that he does not even know about or at least not comfortable admitting.
Pynk writes a very erotic, emotional book that makes you realize how life in the escort world is not all glam or rich and how the famous think they can get away with everything, until one person can ruin it all for them. I loved being able to read about each of the escorts perspectives and their different scenes between their clients and also get a piece of their life story as well and how they came in the business with Money. The ending is a doozy and I was not expecting that to happen to the characters, especially Money and Leilani. Leilani was one character I did not like, but that's because I felt she turned her back on one just to become famous....but she actually was smart about it and knew how to play the game. Money's parents really ticked me off though, especially her Dad and I'll leave that alone because I could go on a rant about them a lone. Grrr!!
I really enjoy Pynk's writing style for this book because she made my emotions feel haywire and also made me uncomfortable at some points in the book. I actually cried on what happened towards the end of the book...(and there was a lot that happened, so I want tell you which really was emotional because I would give it away) If you like a book that will take you out of your comfort zone, this is the book for you. You'll feel the emotions of each character in the book (the escorts and a few other characters that play a significant role as well). I definitely will be checking out the rest of Pynk's books. And can I say also that I loved the ending of the book on what men should do for women. =) Definitely going to have my hubby read that very soon.

4.5 stars Let me first say, this was my first ever Steampunk novel that I've read...and it definitely will not be my last. I was intrigued by the description of "Her Sky Cowboy" and looked forward to diving into this new series by Beth Ciotta. "Her Sky Cowboy" is definitely a book that will take you back in time, but with a twist of time-travel and how if the past is altered...things will definitely change and not everyone is willing to accept it. Although, there are some people who will thrive for the change and will want more to change their future. Amelia Darcy has always had a fascination with what her father comes up with, especially when it involves the sky. Her family's world comes to a complete halt though when her father dies from one of his inventions he was working on. She blames herself on what happened to her father since she was always there to lend a hand with his inventions. One day, she reads the newspaper on how they are looking for one person to find an invention of historical importance" to honor Queen Victoria. Amelia and her brothers are definitely wanting to win this contest since they want to save their family name and their fortune. They were deemed just like their father who always seemed to not have inventions to kept up to their standards. Amelia has her own idea on one invention that could help her family and it's in Italy, but she'll have to go on her own since her brothers are already made their minds up that Amelia needs to be home with their Mother. Amelia of course does not listen, and instead embarks on her own journey to save the family. She ends up almost getting killed on her invention when her kitecycle runs into the one only, Tucker Gentry, otherwise known as the Sky Cowboy. Amelia knows his stories very well and is intrigued with his airship "Maverick". She knows his past and how he is trying to right his wrongs that he never really did. Tucker ends up taking Amelia onboard and saving her and of course his crew are not very happy about it...especially the engineer. Tucker has no idea what Amelia was doing in the first place out in the sky with a contraption that was not meant to fly that far. Amelia will find herself not only on an adventure to find the invention that she believes will save her family, but will find her life in endanger several times, plus several people who want to kidnap her for someone else. Someone who believes she may know something about a very significant importance. She'll also have to deal with falling in love with the Sky Cowboy, which she never thought would happen.
Bring on flying horses, pirates, people who can control the weather, and the past & the future mingling together...and you will have one extravagant adventure with the beautiful Amelia and her very handsome, Sky Cowboy, Tucker, and his crew. You'll have a hard time putting down this book that mingles the Victorian Era and the 1960s era together. You'll also find out some things that no one thought possible. New Inventions popping up that not even the 21st century has had yet. Be prepared to be blown away in this intriguing new series by Beth Ciotta. I definitely loved this world that Beth created and I cannot wait to read the next one. I want to know more about the Darcy family and maybe hopefully the crew onboard the "Maverick". There is a lot going on this book and I recommend when you do read it, pay attention, otherwise you will get lost. There is so much going on, you'll be fascinated from page 1 to the very end. What did I think about the actual characters...Amelia was stubborn at times, but she was one strong-willed woman who just wanted to prove to everyone she could help her family. Tucker, Amelia's Sky Cowboy, was very strong for putting up with Amelia and he had his own baggage to take care of. I would also like to say, I loved all of Tucker's crews names; Doc Blue, Axel, Starman...and so many others that I loved. I recommend this book to anyone who loves the steampunk genre, or anyone who loves time travel and adventure. You'll definitely want more after you read this book. It was one addicting book that made me wish I could time travel (but of course just observe...) I was provided a complimentary copy of "Her Sky Cowboy" from the Author in exchange for an honest review. (less)

There were times I was smiling, laughing (where I almost fell out of my chair), and of course crying (because this book was a tearjerker at times) when reading this on my Kindle. I fell in love with both of the characters, Shane and Jen because both characters had been scarred in someway and of course they're trying to deal with their problems in their own way. Shane is a sergeant first class in the army and all he wants to do is go back to the sandbox with his boys and make sure they all come back alive. Jen is the nurse he meets one night at a bar with his friends. The minute he meets her...he knows she's something special. Shane has dealt with a lot in his past. He's trying to forget about his divorce with his wife and move on...but to move on...he considers deploying a lot with his fellow soldiers, the best way to heal. Instead...he ends up injured and sent home. That is when Jen comes into his life fully and he helps him deal with what happened to him in the sandbox. Unfortunately, Shane is not having it. He just wants to heal and get back with his men because in the bottom of his gut, he knows something is happening in his platoon and someone is not doing their job right and is blaming some of the casualties on Shane and his unit. Then there's Jen..and how she has her own problems, she's trying to deal with. (Her story touched my heart once I found out what happened to her) I don't think I've cried so hard in my life. Between and her Shane's inner and outer demons...I had to have tissues near by. Jessica Scott does a great job on telling the parts about the military and of course the problems that come with the military at times. She also includes other characters in the book, that touch your heart also. What I want to know is what happened to Trent? That was one serious cliff-hanger. Trent is one of Shane's best friends and he's also a Officer in the Army. He is having his own issues to the book and his wife...oh boy...no won't go there because I will spoil the book. I really do not want to spoil this book for anyone who is wanting to read it or now is thinking about reading it. I'm really looking forward to the 2nd book now that comes out in October. Jessica Scott has a fan for life. And by the way...I just love the fact that she is serving in the Army while she is writing. =) Thank you for serving, Jessica. I recommend this book to readers out there that love military contemporary romances, love to read about scarred heroes/heroines (because they always touch your heart), and readers who just want a book that takes you through an emotional roller coaster. (Just a warning ahead of time, be prepared with tissues)
Jessica Scott's "Because of You" touched my heart in so many ways because she happened to address some issues that are happening in our military nowadays...one being the major concern, which is suicide and another one being divorce. Being a veteran, myself, who served in the Navy for 10 years I witnessed so much in the military that civilians do not know about. The one thing that always concerned me was the suicide rate in the military branches, especially during and after an deployment. =( I wish they provided more help to the soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen that come back from a combat zone...especially when it involves family. There are programs out there...but they really need to address it more. (less)

I received a complimentary copy of "The Darkest Day" from Netgalley, provided by the Publisher for my honest review. I'm so glad I was contacted by Britt Bury to read her debut novel of her series "The Immortal Heat". I fell in love the minute I started reading about these hunky Immortals. Kelvin Kerr is an immortal Razorback who has been out to avenge his father's death. He swore he would kill the male heir of the Campbells when he got the chance. He has hated the Campbells for years now. He never thought that the Campbell's next generation of ruler of the Fionn/Campbell Clans would be a woman. Not only that...but he would be attracted to her. Of course how can he be attracted to someone he's supposed to hate...and he also finds out she's human after her disguise disappears. Izel Fionn, just wanted to travel to Scotland to see her family, her grandfather Euan Campbell. She never thought she would be fighting with Kelvin Kerr. He's handsome and HUGE. She also never expected that her grandfather was keeping her safe by disguising her. She's the last human alive on Earth and she's the most wanted creature out there. All the immortal creatures want her dead. It's up to Kelvin Kerr to keep her safe...but does he have a secret agenda to kill her too. My thoughts on "The Darkest Day"...I loved the world that Britt Bury has created. This definitely is a great first book to the series. I was able to follow what was going on and I also got a glimpse of who the other immortal characters were that she will probably end up having books on. I really look forward to Ian's book. =) What did I think about the characters? I loved Kelvin, although he could be a jerk sometimes to Izel. She put him in his place though. He was one hunk of a Razorback, but of course like I stated he was a jerk at times. Although, in the ending he won my trust again when he finally admitted to Izel how he felt about her. (took him long enough though). Izel was a sweetheart and I was able to connect with her from the beginning. She got herself in dilemmas, but she was able to get out of them, except for one...but I won't give that away. I loved the other characters in the book too. I really want to find about the others in the Kerr Clan. I also want to find out more about the Fionn Clan. There's a certain Fionn...that I fell in love with because he was there for Izel. The ending was spectacular. I loved how everything played out. "The Darkest Day" had be laughing and crying. Laughing...because Izel and Kelvin kept bantering with each other and crying...because what happened at the end. Britt Bury and her series is very promising. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I recommend this book to anyone who loves the paranormal romance genre, loves reading debut authors and their series. You'll fall in love with these immortals just like I did. Thanks again, Britt, for contacting me. You have a fan for life. =) (less)

After, I read the description of "Veiled Virtues", I knew I had to read it. It's a young adult romantic fantasy book about modern day English knights and it's based in England (one of the countries I would love to visit one day). Paige is off to house-sit in England after graduating from school. (I'm jealous of her because that has to be the perfect job ever) Once she gets to England though, strange things are happening to her. She's having nightmares, a ghost or something haunting her in the house she's house sitting, her forehead and hands are bleeding, and she is also compelled to touch this sword in the shop she goes to in town. She also has strong feelings for the guy that owns the store, Nathaniel. Back home though, she has a boyfriend, but she's not sure if it's meant to be. She's lost in a country she doesn't know much about and she doesn't have any friends there to help her. Until, she starts making friends at the local shops and next door to her. She also has Nathaniel who comes to her rescue several times. The ghosts she supposedly thinks are haunting her...are something else entirely. Nathaniel has expected what Paige since the moment he met her. He has to tell her the truth on what's going on and how to keep her safe from the enemy that wants her. I won't go any further into what the book is about because I'll give away what it is mainly about. Here are my thoughts on the book. It's a great read for YA lovers out there. I enjoyed it because it was different from what I'm used to reading. I love reading different genres and breaking away from paranormal every once in awhile. I loved the background of the story and how it came together. It was kind of slow and the love between Nathaniel and Paige was kind of unbelievable, towards the end especially. Their love went by quickly. Reminds me kind of puppy love and if it will work out in the end. It was smart of Paige at the end of the book what she did though. You'll have to find out what big decision she made by reading the book if you are into this kind of genre. I definitely plan on reading the second book to find out what Jan makes Paige go through next. I feel like I learned about English history a little bit in this book. I loved reading about English Knights though and how they fight with no guns in this book. I recommend this book to YA lovers out there who love this kind of genre. I will tell you this, when I was reading Nathaniel's part and a few other characters, I was reading their parts in a British accent in my head. It's a just a habit I guess to feel the true affect of the book being based in English. I found it more addicting that way, I guess. I have a huge thing for men and British accents. You have to admit, it is a sexy accent. =)(less)

This book definitely is a GREAT sequel to "Supernaturally Kissed". Everything played out so well in this book...but of course the cliffhanger was the BEST. Tess is now apart of the Memphis Police Department which can be a awful thing and a good thing to her. She gets days off more than she did at her other job...but she also has to deal with things she doesn't want to deal with, like go to a Prison and of course deal with a pain in the ass, medium, Dane. (who by the way I hated in the book...can I kick his ass, please?) Tess is thrown into a different kind of adventure for her ghost seeing abilities. First off, she has to try to solve a 10 year case, involving a suicide, that may have not been a suicide. She also has to deal with ghosts coming into her house when...ummm...she's kind of busy with Kipp. Yup...definitely feel sorry for her on that one (what a friggin' steamy scene too with Kipp). Those ghosts that come see her are scared of something that turns out to be evil. The police department brings in Dane to help Tess understand her abilities more...and he also introduces Tess to a Witch in Salem, Massachusetts who ends up helping her in so many ways. Let's just say, you will have a hard time putting down this book. You'll want to know how Tess gets through everything. I love the storyline in this book and loved the ending. I was right on my theory with Kipp too. =) (not giving away the best part...just read the book to find out). I am a little upset with Kipp in this book though. =( Darn him and his jealousy. This book is full of suspense, magic, adventure, and romance. Tess is such a strong female character, even though she is scared out of her mind on certain things...but who wouldn't be scared of dealing with a killer in a prison? I recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance, loves ghosts...and loves some humor/sarcasm with their book. Can Fall hurry up and get here so I can find out what is going to happen between Tess and Kipp? =)

I was in the Navy for over 10 years and got to sail the seas a lot while I was in, but I have never been on a luxury cruise liner. Don't even think the Navy ships compare to Carnival or Disney Lines...because they definitely don't. =) How I wish I could enjoy a Carnival Cruise. Maybe someday, but for now, I'm going to stay on land since I did too much sea time in the Navy and also after reading "Shore Excursion", I definitely don't want to be apart of a Murder Mystery or even a ship tipping over to it's side (which recently just happened). Eek! I love mysteries every once in awhile and after reading the book summary for "Shore Excursion", I knew I had to read it. We're introduced to Sidney Marsh in this book who is a Travel Agent, which in today's world you don't hear much about anymore. Her job in this book is to be a Tour Leader for the High Steppers which are a lively bunch of senior citizens. Poor Sidney Marsh didn't sign up for a few murder mysteries on board her tour though. She takes it upon herself to try to solve the mysteries on board the ship, but unfortunately she either has a lot of people telling her not to get involved, or she is getting caught up in dangers herself. It's a win lose situation for her, but someone has to help her "High Steppers". Marie Moore takes you on some crazy turns and twists through this book. You will never expect really who the murderer is until the light bulb clicks on in your head at the end which is what happened to me. Marie Moore created some fascinating characters in this book and I have no idea how she kept up with them all, but I adored every one of them. I even felt terrible with the characters that were killed. The whole time I was rooting for Sidney to solve the mystery so we could have some closure. I look forward to reading the next Sidney Marsh mystery from Marie Moore. If you love mysteries and want to take a ride on a cruise ship (not literally of course) to solve a murder mystery or two, then you definitely need to read this book. (less)

I'm a huge history buff at times. I would rather sit in a History class and learn about our past then dive into the present at times. So when Maureen contacted me to read and review her book "The Jaguar Legacy", I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately, it took me awhile to read this book since I had other priorities and I did find myself stepping away from this book a bit when I was reading it. It wasn't grabbing my attention, like I thought it would. This is my opinion on the book though and other readers may find this book more appealing to them. I did enjoy the mysteries, the history, and the romance brewing between Charley and sexy, Alistair (maybe it's because the Scottish accent, since I can perfect the accent in my mind...being married to half-Scottish man myself who has a Scottish family). Damn...how I love the Scottish accent. Yum!! Unfortunately, the book did drag on in certain parts and other parts it went fast pace. Like I stated before I enjoyed the mysteries of it and what Charley actually figured out what was happening to her from the black-outs. I also enjoyed the little bit of shifting back and forth to characters to dig inside of their heads instead of just Charley's. I didn't really like Charley's mother though. I have a huge problem with people who dive into the bottle too often and become dependent on it. It's been a huge debacle with me since I had a friend killed by a drunk driver. Hence, I'm the lady who drinks one glass of wine in my house or when I do go out I'm the designated driver. What Charley was doing for her Mother wasn't helping her and Alistair was trying to tell her, but she really wasn't listening. He even told his life story on what happened with him. I did love the Olmecss ways and of course getting glimpses of past experiences with the Olmecs in Charley's blackouts. Even though they ended up not being all that good in the end though once Charley put the clues together. In the end of the book, it comes together on what really is expected and what is supposed to be done to correct everything. (definitely read the book...if you want to know) I also wasn't very fond of Leila, Alistair's ex-wife...but that's to be expected though. You always have to have a villain and sometimes she just went too far. I recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure, history, and mystery. There's not too much romance in this book, but when there is, it's steamy. I will say this, Charley gave Alistair a hard time...and I liked her even more because of it. She never made it easy for him. =) This book was so and so for me. I did like certain things like I stated, but it just didn't enthrall me like I was expecting it too. I plan on reading the next book from Maureen, I got real soon though. I look forward to seeing what her next book is all about. One thing before I end the review...I do love the cover to the 2011 published version of "The Jaguar Legacy". If Maureen wouldn't of contacted me, and I saw this book on Goodreads or on Amazon...I would've bought it and read it no matter what. =) (less)

Grace Donnelly is a proud pet spa owner. She got away from what her father and brother wanted her to do. She loves dogs and what better way to give back to the furry community, then groom the animals she adores. Unfortunately, she's supposed to be watching one of the prize dogs who is most likely to win the annual Fur Ball, but the beautiful dog has been stolen. She has to find out who would steal the dog and why. The only person to help her is her ex-boyfriend, Nick. He's a security specialist so he'll be able to help her. She doesn't really want his help though because of what happened in their past between them. Nick is also investigating a past incident that happened to his grandfather and he has someone trying to kill him. He wants to finally get the con-artist who took money from his grandfather and killed his grandfather's friend. It's up to Nick to solve both mysteries, but of course Grace is being stubborn about receiving his help with her mystery. This was very enjoyable mystery. I loved strong, stubborn, Grace Donnelly and I adored her Aunt Beth. (she made the book hilarious) I also loved Nick because he managed to get through Grace's stubbornness and won her over with helping her with finding the dog that was stolen. There was times I wanted to go through the book and slap her silly for Nick. She got herself in some sticky situations, but some how always managed to get out it...barely of course. I also adored how Nick stood up to Grace's father and brother. Grace's father and brother were jerks to her. They just didn't want to consider that she was surviving without them and doing great. Her Aunt Beth even stepped in because she couldn't stand Grace's Dad. I enjoyed how the mystery of both the dog napping and Nick's mystery unraveled. Definitely wasn't expecting the mysteries to play out that way and who was the actual dog napper. There was steamy scenes too between Grace and Nick when they got together. I loved how everything fell in place for them even though Grace just didn't want to consider that Nick was a great guy. I really enjoyed this book and the writing style of Maureen Fischer. This was a really funny book and I found myself laughing out loud at times (especially with how Aunt Beth was). I recommend this book to mystery readers out there, animal lovers, and readers who want a good laugh. You'll definitely enjoy this funny, mystery book.(less)

It took me awhile to get to it because of other review requests and library books that needed to be read before I had to pay overdue charges. Unfortunately, once I did get a chance to start reading it, I came down with double ear infections and had to put off all reading until I was better. Needless to say, I suffered withdrawals from reading at the time. I have never gone longer than a day of not reading. When I finally got better, I had to finish “Blue” Manuever”. I’m not a Big Sci-Fi girl at all, but I thought I would give it a chance after reading the description of the book from Linda. Some amazing qualities I found with the book was the story that Linda created. I loved how she created a world where Aliens lived among us and we didn’t even realize it. She also made it where the Aliens lived on other planets and they were like us, but so much more superior and better in technology than us. The main character where we dive into her head, is Rae who cracked me up several times in the book. She was a spunky, determined girl who got herself in a bind one day. She was clueless with having Aliens live in her apartment complex. She was also clueless about the guy she had a eye on for awhile at her apartment. Who knew one day she would end up getting abused and kidnapped (kind of) in her friend’s apartment while taking care of her friend’s cat. Rae is thrown into a world she had no idea existed and ends up having to save the world and help Aliens who are basically under the Witness Protection Program. She is being bullied by her kidnapper Tobias who happens to run hot and cold. You never know if he’ll be nice to Rae or become violent with her. Then there’s the time, he forces these Ceebees in her, which you’ll have to read the book to find out what they are. I found them the most interesting part of the book because they actually helped Rae out of so many jams when Tobias wasn’t there. You know a book always has a evil character or two to it and I wasn’t expecting the villain to be who Linda made it out to be. Now onto the stuff I didn’t pretty much like about the book, but other readers may find interesting and entertaining. Some of the same words over and over again. I know it was Rae’s talk, but I did find myself skipping over it sometimes, just to get to the good parts. I know she was trying not to cuss. I found it entertaining when she did cuss because she would have to put a $1 in her swear jar. I think they need to implement that to Sailors. Well, veterans at least who just got out of the military, like myself. I’ve been trying not to cuss for 6 months now. Gosh darn it, it’s the hardest thing ever. =) I also felt like some of the book was dragging and I just wanted to get to the ending. I did enjoy this book, but it’s not my usual book to read. I definitely would recommend it to anyone who loves Sci-Fi though. For anyone who is a Paranormal Romance addict, you may not like it, but you may like it. You’ll just have to read it to find out. I know my Father would enjoy this book. If only he read books though. He rather see the movie, he says. I do see this book being a movie one day. I really think we do have Aliens among us. What do you think? (less)

I've been in a "Erotica" mood for awhile and I needed something to read that would help that mood. Glad I finally picked up "The Best Mistake" to read. It was a short ebook, but it was worth it. Now I look forward to reading more books from Kate Watterson. Lacey Billings comes home after a week of traveling to a financial convention that she had to go to. She thinks she's coming home to her boyfriend, Ran. She wants to surprise Ran in a perfect way...in bed of course. Unfortunately, she never expected that Ran's cousin would be over and in his bed. Lacey is horrified by what almost happened and she wants to tell Ran. Rick is just as embarrassed since he's always had feelings for Lacey and now finds her even more attractive. He doesn't want to ruin Lacey and Ran's relationship. When Ran finds out though, he laughs about it. He even has a bright idea on how they can stop being awkward around each other....how about a hot steamy threesome. =) I found this ebook to be a very enjoyable short read. Definitely quenched my Erotica mood for a little bit. Who wouldn't want to enjoy a night with two HOT Men? Guys have fantasies of threesomes and so can women, can't they? =) Recommend for readers who love Erotica, short stories, and reading about threesomes. (less)

I love reading books that have some terrific endings to them and also has a lesson learned to it. The character Tia, is going through a divorce with her husband, David (who by the way I want to go into the book and punch him) What a friggin' jerk. I can't stand man that belittles a woman's self esteem. Tia just wants a fresh start to a new life and she wants to forget her ex-husband (but he makes it difficult for her). She has been living at Alex's house while he was on tour of duty. He is sent home after being injured. He wants to do everything in his power to make Tia realize how much he cares about her. He wants to help her through her ordeals. Alex is definitely a REAL Man in my eyes.
I love how the Author goes back and forth into Tia and Alex's heads. We found out exactly what Alex and Tia wants. Alex brings out out Tia's fantasies of being submissive. Something her ex never understood or even liked. Once Tia realizes what Alex's intentions are with her, she finally realizes there are Men out there that care about a Woman's feelings. The best part was the ending of the book, where she gets over her fears with her Ex and moves on finally. It took awhile for it to lead up to that, and sometimes I was a little upset with Tia's character. How she wanted to push even Alex out of her life to save him. How come she didn't realize in the beginning this Man loved her, I just didn't get it. He even tried to tell her in the beginning, but she was clueless.
I recommend this read for anyone who loves a happy ending and wants to learn what some Women actually go through. Alex caters to Tia's feelings and loves her for what she fantasizes. Some Men don't understand that. Sometimes you have to let the Woman decide what she wants...believe me, not all Women like to be the dominated kind...they prefer to be submissive.
I look forward to reading more books from Callie Croix soon. I also thoroughly enjoyed this book because it takes you into a world of actual circumstances that could happen when someone returns from War and such. (less)

I would've never known about her series about Kate Connelly and her future P.I. job. I also wouldn't have such a comical and fun book to read...that makes me realize I need to lighten up on motherhood. I tend to be very over-protective of my children and love them so much...that sometimes I'm just like Kate, "Is she breathing...am I producing enough milk, and am I being a great mother?"
Kate Connelly reminds me of myself (except for the P.I. Job). I gave up my Art Institute to stay home with my 2nd daughter since I didn't want to leave her. Shes' my precious baby girl and no one else could take care of her like I do (plus with breastfeeding, it's kind of hard to go to school and pump)....so I decided to go to online college courses instead. I get to pace my schedule and take care of my baby and also make sure my oldest daughter does her homework everyday. Believe me a Mother's Job is never done. I think I worked more than I did when I was in the Navy...but you know what, I wouldn't change it for the world. I love being home with my girls and that is why I can relate to Kate Connelly.
Kate is a new Mom who doesn't want to go back to her office job. She instead wants to run her own business, of Private Investigating. How does she come about with this idea, you ask? Well...let's just say it has something to do with her brother-in-law, George, and her old high-school friend, Michelle. First off, her brother-in-law is a piece of work, he is always in some kind of trouble and seems he can never get his life on track. Kate's husband Jim, knows his brother's ways all too well. Kate just wants to find out why George's bags were left on the pier and where he is exactly and why he is being considered for murder. To crack the case, Kate actually gets involved since the cops aren't getting anywhere. She gets her first taste of PI work when a Private Investigator is sent to the Hospital. She takes over his Job.
I won't spoil the book for anyone. If you love mystery books, this is a definite read...but be forewarned, read the title, this mystery I recommend more to Women. Why Women...because guys would probably get confused over the maternal instincts of Kate (if you know what I mean). They actually would know what a Woman thinks when she's a Mother and why we are over-protective. =)
I loved the beginning to the end of this book. I loved the comical situations and mysteries that Kate put herself in. My favorite part would have to be when Jim is left with Laurie (their newborn) and doesn't know how to calm him down. Jim reminded me of my husband. I had to laugh at those parts. Poor Men! (haha)
I also want to say, I kept changing my mind who the killer could actually be. Diana definitely threw me for a twist and I definitely wasn't expecting that kind of ending, which is always a plus for me. I didn't know the killer was that person. I thought it was someone else. I love those kind of twists and turns.
I definitely look forward to reading the next book in the Series and finding out what other mystery Kate cracks. I also look forward to hearing about Kate's Maternal Instincts. =)(less)

I got my hands on it from Netgalley, but didn't get to read it until the day it released. Boo...I need to start reading a book from there as soon as I get it so I can review it before the book is actually released. Oh well that's what happens when you overload yourself with too many books. This book was ALL about the first and only time Luce and Daniel spent Valentine's Day together. Sad, isn't it? Those two never get a friggin' break. Lauren Kate took us out of Luce's head and into several other characters, finally. Yeah!!!! We got a taste of Shelby and Miles. I adore those two. =) Finally, maybe those two will have a happily ever after and stop playing around and kiss already. Then came Roland's own love story. Although, it ended up being a sad ending for him...but not for his love of course, since he made a serious decision. Made me love him even more. It's never easy to give up your one true love to make them happy. What seriously threw me off, is when Lauren Kate, told Arriane's love story. Wow...wasn't expecting that, but it was really Sweet. Although, of course not another happy ending. Geez! Won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't read the book. I was actually a little upset on what happened to Arianne and her true love. Of course, the finale of the book was Daniel and Luce spending Valentine's Day together. Sweet, beautiful and happily ever....well not really. Sorry...we all know what happens to Luce eventually in every lifetime she's ever lived except her more recent one. At least she got to spend one lovely day with the love of her life. If you haven't read the series, you need to read it. Although, the first book is always going to be the best of the series. The 2nd and 3rd just didn't do it for me. I'm looking forward to reading "Rapture" though and you get a glimpse of the first chapter in this book. I always love sneak peeks. I loved how Lauren flowed each short story into once. Shelby and Miles when they ran into Roland, brought on his story and then Arianne came into Roland's story. It was a great transition. All and all...it was a short sweet read...but not exciting. It's a great Valentine's Day read, but don't think the short novellas are always happily ever afters. There's something to learn in each one. I'm just happy to have read that Daniel and Luce finally got something happy out of the deal. Now the countdown begins for "Rapture". Give me more Cam and I'll be a happy, giddy Book Mama. =) (less)

Well...at least this woman. I've been fascinated with Martial Arts since I was a little girl, unfortunately I only took a month of it in middle school. My Parents didn't want to deal out the money for an expensive Martial Arts Academy. =( I enjoyed looking at the eye candy on the Cover...that definitely will have me reading the book. I think it's the tattoo that captured my attention more though on the cover...or could it be the nice rugged abs in the front...*sigh* Finally, I got to live it again through a Short Erotic Novella written by Skye Warren. Oh Yes! Thank you, Thank you!! =) What I loved about this Erotica Book...was the development of the characters, the sex scenes and the drama the characters went through to be with each other. Did I mention some steamy, hot, sexy sex Scenes? Abe is focused on gold..well..he's supposed to be until a bet he makes and then he meets Paris, who throws him off. He's never met a woman like her before. Of course, Paris is not into being in a relationship due to her past relationship. She especially doesn't want to hook up with a guy who is into Martial Arts. Abe loses focus of course and Paris...well...she ends up hooking up with Abe..the one kind of person she didn't want to be with. Poor Abe, went through hell to try to win Paris's attention. I did get a little upset when Paris revealed why she didn't want a serious relationship with Abe. Not really a good excuse in my eyes. If she didn't want Abe...turn him over to me. =) I loved the ending and wasn't expecting that at all. Abe was definitely clueless when it came to Blake. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good Erotica book to read. I also recommend it to anyone who wants a strong male character to read. I definitely plan on reading Skye Warren's other books. This book touched my heart when I read it. This book is about Kerry and Dante this time. I got a taste of both of these characters from the first book “Unleashed”. Kerry is sexy model who isn’t the starving run-way model either. She’s the model with the womanly curves who everyone wants modeling for them. She has a condition though where she hates touching people because once she touches them, she feels pain and also sees images. She was adopted and she always felt distant from her adopted family. She always felt like something was wrong with her because they really did not want anything to do with her. Dante is a sexy Amoveo who is apart of the Fox clan. He’s had it rough since what happened in the last book. He knows there’s something different about Kerry and he knows also that she’s his mate after seeing her on the beach for the first time. He has to find away to tell her about him and also find out what she is exactly. Kerry is half human and half Amoveo just like her best friend, Samantha who is from the previous book. In the first book, Kerry was put into the dilemma between the Clans and she didn’t even realize it. In “Untouched”, Kerry is sent on a modeling job down in New Orleans and of course the sexy Dante goes with her as a bodyguard. While they are there, they find out the job has switched to a old house. For some reason, the old man there doesn’t want them inside of it. Also, while on her modeling job Kerry is being threaten by “The Punisher” which is Dante’s mission to find out who it is. He knows it has to do with something with Kerry being half Amveo., but he doesn’t know who to trust. Malcolm and Samantha end up helping out with it, but of course they end up in the crossfire again in this book. In between, the chaos of the modeling job and “the Punisher”, Dante and Kerry end up hooking up and the chemistry between them is perfect. They fit well together and there is no way Kerry can resist Dante and vice versa. In the end, when I found out who the killers were, I definitely wasn’t expecting it. I also wasn’t expecting the twist that Sara threw into the book about Kerry. Yes…Sara…you had me crying at the end. I felt so sorry for Kerry. At least Dante was there for her and she got some closure. This book will have you crying, turning the pages for more, and loving the characters. I recommend this book to anyone who loves Shifters and loves Paranormal Romance. Sara definitely has a fan for life and I look forward to the next book in the series this November, which to me is too far away at the moment. =) (less)
