First off, this was the first book I read where it takes you into different time periods of someone and the person is recording the story. You learned about the main character, King Henry Price (Yes...that's his name) from his 14 year old self and then at 22 years old. At 14 years old you found out how Henry's life is with his parents and when he met Ceinwyn Dale who happened to be tracking Mancers to save them from themselves and teach them their powers at a Asylum that she wants Henry to go to. She can't save everyone though and you find out who she is unable to save in the book. That is when Henry learns he is a Mancer himself and he's particularly a "Geomancer". At 22 years old, we learn how Henry has grown out of his "Foul Mouth Teenage self" and now is trying to make a living out of the Asylum running a Antique Shop, but with a twist on his real powers as a Mancer. That is when he is approached by a Vampire (The Fanged Lady), Annie B who needs his help...and she won't take any answer, but yes. I was a little thrown off at first on going back and forth to Henry at 14 when he was just going into the Asylum and when he was 22 and he was battling Vampires with Annie B. After a while though, I knew why the book was the way it was. It actually was better to go back and forth because you learned a little more about the character Henry and why he was the way he was. You also learned what he went through when he was younger. He didn't have a easy life and it was better for him to attend the Asylum and get away from his family. I actually felt terrible for him for what his parents put him through. He didn't really have an adult to take care of him. My favorite character though would be Annie B...which learn in the story is really Anne Boleyn. Really? Anne Boleyn? How could that be? Well..when you read the book you find out a different point of view of Vampires and some other characters that will have you in shock. Richard Raley definitely did his research and I love the fight scene at the end with Annie B, Joan d'Arc and King Henry Price. Yes I typed Joan d'Arc. She's really in there too. Annie B was a sassy, kick ass character that knew how to put Henry in his place. She also knew how to throw down and happened to scare the crap out of Henry in the story. She scared me too. For my first Indie Book...I have to say I'm glad I read this book first. Maybe I'll branch out more and read some more books in this genre now. I gave this book 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars...but I usually give a book 5 stars that had me on the edge of my seat. That's the only thing I didn't get from this book...but that doesn't mean it's not good. I recommend this book to anyone who likes the Urban Fantasy or Indie Genre's. Thank you Richard Raley for giving me a chance to read your book and reviewing it. I definitely want to read the next book in the series when it comes out. King Henry Price sure knows how to tell his story. =) (less)

The story of it sucked me in from beginning to end. It also even had me dreaming about it. When I got up at 3 am to take care of my baby girl, I had to finish the book before I even decided to fall back asleep. It was my mission to find out what would happen between Hope and Slade. Hope is a girl who has to give up everything in Georgia to go to California with her father and brothers after her Dad and Mom split up. She is thrown into a world of rich snobby people who she doesn't fit in with, until she meets the mysterious tattooed Slade, who helps her out of a dilemma. She is fascinated with him and wants to find out what he is exactly. Hope is forced into several situations where she has to find out who to trust. Should she trust Slade or Tucker, the boy who everyone adores, but something is wrong with his family. My first thoughts on Slade was he was dreamy and mysterious and I wanted to know more about him. This guy who could manipulate the Ink on Hope's arms. He definitely caught my heart and I definitely wanted Hope with him instead of Tucker. Once I did find out what he was, I was in Awe. I definitely wasn't expecting that and I can say, it definitely made the story more amazing. I knew from the beginning there was something wrong with Tucker, but I couldn't put my finger on it. He was too good to be true. Once I got to the ending, I was surprised with his actions and his Dad's. Wow...definitely wasn't expecting that. My favorite parts in the book was the Ocean Scene between Hope and Slade, which was a very steamy scene and that wasn't the only one between them. I also enjoyed when Karsen came into town. She was Hope's bestfriend. The girl made it even more interesting and she had a way of getting Hope out of her shell even more. I felt terrible for Hope in certain parts of the book...the poor girl went through hell to be with Slade. She didn't get any help from anyone most of the time, so she had to figure it out for herself. All I can say about this book is it's become one of my favorites and is definitely worth a read-again in the near future. I can't get enough of Slade. =) Holly Hood captures the love between two teens perfectly. She also writes about the ups and downs of a relationship that a teen may endure when trust is a issue. She also writes what happens when parents get involved. You'll just have to read the book to find out about what Hope's Dad did. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who wants to read about magic, steamy scenes, and amazing characters. I look forward to reading more books from Holly Hood in the near future and I really hope "Ink" becomes a movie one day...I definitely would buy tickets for the midnight premiere and would watch the movie over and over again.

I'm always up for reading a book from a new author who I have never read from. From the minute I picked up the book, I knew it was not like any other book I've read before. Sallie Lundy-Frommer takes you into a Paranormal World where Vampires are destined to have "Life Mates". They also feed from each other to sustain the best nutrients...not from humans. ***Spoiler Alert****She also throws in human villains who want nothing more, but to have the blood from Vampires to become an immortal themselves. Your first introduced to the character Grace aka "Sapphira" (which I have to say is a Beautiful name and fits the character very well.) She has no idea where she came from since she was thrown into Foster care when she was a child. She knows she's different, but she's not sure why. She drinks blood...which she has no idea why. Until one day, she happens to run into Malachi in her home. Malachi is no one she's ever met before and he starts fitting in the pieces on what she is and that she is destined to be with him. She's starting to believe him because she has dreamed of him before, but she doesn't know why. Malachi warns her though, that their our things out there that want to hurt her and he wants to take her back to their world so he can protect her. That's when all hell breaks loose and we find out there's other things that bump in the night...and poor Grace has to deal with things she's not used to...but Malachi does everything in his power to help her through it. Sallie Lundy-Frommer definitely has a different writing style then I'm used to. I was a little confused at first when reading it because it would jump back and forth from different characters points of views. I would have to back track and read over a certain page again to catch up and find out what exactly happened. Although, it is a great thing she did that because you get all aspects of what's going on and what happens when it leads to the ending of the book. You'll be in "Awe" at the end of the book when you find out what actually happened to Grace and why she was separated from her Vampire World. I wanted to jump into the book and kick some ass for her. I just have to say this to end my review...Malachi stole my heart in this book and he definitely is a perfect "Life Mate" to have. I'm jealous of Grace "Sapphira" for having him. I look forward to reading the next book from Sallie Lundy-Frommer and finding out what is up next for the characters. (less)

Ball through email to read and review her book, "Spirits Rising" which is the first book to the series "The Spirit Caller". I haven't read a book about Spirits before, so I jumped at the chance. I'm always looking for something new to read. It's not a normal Genre I read...but I really enjoyed the world that Krista D. Ball created in this book. Rachel Mills is the main character and she is able to interact with spirits. Unfortunately sometimes the interaction is not the greatest experience ever. She thought moving to a population of 20, she wouldn't have to deal with the supernatural world anymore....but nothing ever goes as planned, does it? She lives next to Mrs. Saunders who happens to be my favorite character in the book. She is quirky and funny and a down to earth 93 year old who I wouldn't mind living next to in real life because she would keep me entertained. The best parts of the book was how every one came together during the crisis of the spirits. Rachel thought everyone hated her because they thought she dealt in "witchcraft". It's when a crisis happens, people come together. Having Vikings outside your lawn...I think I would've came out and helped out also. So who caused the Spirits to be up and causing a racket...a young teenage boy...who just couldn't help himself. He had to find a spell on the web and try it out. He just couldn't watch tv or surf the web like a normal teenager could he. Geez! Who I found annoying in the book was Jeremy. That boy...just never could get it that Rachel had feelings for him. Why did he already have a girlfriend and why couldn't she just forget about him. When he finally realized she liked him...he still acted clueless. Ugh!!! Ahh!!! Let me slap him for you, Rachel. What was the only bad thing about the book...it was actually when Rachel had to deal with the issues of the Spirits, when someone else stole the thunder from her. She really didn't do much to cast out the spirits. She even tried to contact her Mom (who isn't her biological mother)...to find out what she could do. I loved how the story all came together in the end though. You could also tell, Krista D. Ball did her research on Spirits and the Vikings. I look forward to seeing what the next book is all about. I definitely enjoyed getting away from Vampires and Werewolves for a little bit. Thanks again, Krista D. Ball for contacting me. I look forward to reading more books from you...especially from this series. (less)

Well...at least this woman. I've been fascinated with Martial Arts since I was a little girl, unfortunately I only took a month of it in middle school. My Parents didn't want to deal out the money for an expensive Martial Arts Academy. =( I enjoyed looking at the eye candy on the Cover...that definitely will have me reading the book. I think it's the tattoo that captured my attention more though on the cover...or could it be the nice rugged abs in the front...*sigh* Finally, I got to live it again through a Short Erotic Novella written by Skye Warren. Oh Yes! Thank you, Thank you!! =) What I loved about this Erotica Book...was the development of the characters, the sex scenes and the drama the characters went through to be with each other. Did I mention some steamy, hot, sexy sex Scenes? Abe is focused on gold..well..he's supposed to be until a bet he makes and then he meets Paris, who throws him off. He's never met a woman like her before. Of course, Paris is not into being in a relationship due to her past relationship. She especially doesn't want to hook up with a guy who is into Martial Arts. Abe loses focus of course and Paris...well...she ends up hooking up with Abe..the one kind of person she didn't want to be with. Poor Abe, went through hell to try to win Paris's attention. I did get a little upset when Paris revealed why she didn't want a serious relationship with Abe. Not really a good excuse in my eyes. If she didn't want Abe...turn him over to me. =) I loved the ending and wasn't expecting that at all. Abe was definitely clueless when it came to Blake. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good Erotica book to read. I also recommend it to anyone who wants a strong male character to read. I definitely plan on reading Skye Warren's other books. I would've never known about her series about Kate Connelly and her future P.I. job. I also wouldn't have such a comical and fun book to read...that makes me realize I need to lighten up on motherhood. I tend to be very over-protective of my children and love them so much...that sometimes I'm just like Kate, "Is she breathing...am I producing enough milk, and am I being a great mother?"
Kate Connelly reminds me of myself (except for the P.I. Job). I gave up my Art Institute to stay home with my 2nd daughter since I didn't want to leave her. Shes' my precious baby girl and no one else could take care of her like I do (plus with breastfeeding, it's kind of hard to go to school and pump)....so I decided to go to online college courses instead. I get to pace my schedule and take care of my baby and also make sure my oldest daughter does her homework everyday. Believe me a Mother's Job is never done. I think I worked more than I did when I was in the Navy...but you know what, I wouldn't change it for the world. I love being home with my girls and that is why I can relate to Kate Connelly.
Kate is a new Mom who doesn't want to go back to her office job. She instead wants to run her own business, of Private Investigating. How does she come about with this idea, you ask? Well...let's just say it has something to do with her brother-in-law, George, and her old high-school friend, Michelle. First off, her brother-in-law is a piece of work, he is always in some kind of trouble and seems he can never get his life on track. Kate's husband Jim, knows his brother's ways all too well. Kate just wants to find out why George's bags were left on the pier and where he is exactly and why he is being considered for murder. To crack the case, Kate actually gets involved since the cops aren't getting anywhere. She gets her first taste of PI work when a Private Investigator is sent to the Hospital. She takes over his Job.
I won't spoil the book for anyone. If you love mystery books, this is a definite read...but be forewarned, read the title, this mystery I recommend more to Women. Why Women...because guys would probably get confused over the maternal instincts of Kate (if you know what I mean). They actually would know what a Woman thinks when she's a Mother and why we are over-protective. =)
I loved the beginning to the end of this book. I loved the comical situations and mysteries that Kate put herself in. My favorite part would have to be when Jim is left with Laurie (their newborn) and doesn't know how to calm him down. Jim reminded me of my husband. I had to laugh at those parts. Poor Men! (haha)
I also want to say, I kept changing my mind who the killer could actually be. Diana definitely threw me for a twist and I definitely wasn't expecting that kind of ending, which is always a plus for me. I didn't know the killer was that person. I thought it was someone else. I love those kind of twists and turns.
I definitely look forward to reading the next book in the Series and finding out what other mystery Kate cracks. I also look forward to hearing about Kate's Maternal Instincts. =)(less)

It took me awhile to get to it because of other review requests and library books that needed to be read before I had to pay overdue charges. Unfortunately, once I did get a chance to start reading it, I came down with double ear infections and had to put off all reading until I was better. Needless to say, I suffered withdrawals from reading at the time. I have never gone longer than a day of not reading. When I finally got better, I had to finish “Blue” Manuever”. I’m not a Big Sci-Fi girl at all, but I thought I would give it a chance after reading the description of the book from Linda. Some amazing qualities I found with the book was the story that Linda created. I loved how she created a world where Aliens lived among us and we didn’t even realize it. She also made it where the Aliens lived on other planets and they were like us, but so much more superior and better in technology than us. The main character where we dive into her head, is Rae who cracked me up several times in the book. She was a spunky, determined girl who got herself in a bind one day. She was clueless with having Aliens live in her apartment complex. She was also clueless about the guy she had a eye on for awhile at her apartment. Who knew one day she would end up getting abused and kidnapped (kind of) in her friend’s apartment while taking care of her friend’s cat. Rae is thrown into a world she had no idea existed and ends up having to save the world and help Aliens who are basically under the Witness Protection Program. She is being bullied by her kidnapper Tobias who happens to run hot and cold. You never know if he’ll be nice to Rae or become violent with her. Then there’s the time, he forces these Ceebees in her, which you’ll have to read the book to find out what they are. I found them the most interesting part of the book because they actually helped Rae out of so many jams when Tobias wasn’t there. You know a book always has a evil character or two to it and I wasn’t expecting the villain to be who Linda made it out to be. Now onto the stuff I didn’t pretty much like about the book, but other readers may find interesting and entertaining. Some of the same words over and over again. I know it was Rae’s talk, but I did find myself skipping over it sometimes, just to get to the good parts. I know she was trying not to cuss. I found it entertaining when she did cuss because she would have to put a $1 in her swear jar. I think they need to implement that to Sailors. Well, veterans at least who just got out of the military, like myself. I’ve been trying not to cuss for 6 months now. Gosh darn it, it’s the hardest thing ever. =) I also felt like some of the book was dragging and I just wanted to get to the ending. I did enjoy this book, but it’s not my usual book to read. I definitely would recommend it to anyone who loves Sci-Fi though. For anyone who is a Paranormal Romance addict, you may not like it, but you may like it. You’ll just have to read it to find out. I know my Father would enjoy this book. If only he read books though. He rather see the movie, he says. I do see this book being a movie one day. I really think we do have Aliens among us. What do you think? (less)

Grace Donnelly is a proud pet spa owner. She got away from what her father and brother wanted her to do. She loves dogs and what better way to give back to the furry community, then groom the animals she adores. Unfortunately, she's supposed to be watching one of the prize dogs who is most likely to win the annual Fur Ball, but the beautiful dog has been stolen. She has to find out who would steal the dog and why. The only person to help her is her ex-boyfriend, Nick. He's a security specialist so he'll be able to help her. She doesn't really want his help though because of what happened in their past between them. Nick is also investigating a past incident that happened to his grandfather and he has someone trying to kill him. He wants to finally get the con-artist who took money from his grandfather and killed his grandfather's friend. It's up to Nick to solve both mysteries, but of course Grace is being stubborn about receiving his help with her mystery. This was very enjoyable mystery. I loved strong, stubborn, Grace Donnelly and I adored her Aunt Beth. (she made the book hilarious) I also loved Nick because he managed to get through Grace's stubbornness and won her over with helping her with finding the dog that was stolen. There was times I wanted to go through the book and slap her silly for Nick. She got herself in some sticky situations, but some how always managed to get out it...barely of course. I also adored how Nick stood up to Grace's father and brother. Grace's father and brother were jerks to her. They just didn't want to consider that she was surviving without them and doing great. Her Aunt Beth even stepped in because she couldn't stand Grace's Dad. I enjoyed how the mystery of both the dog napping and Nick's mystery unraveled. Definitely wasn't expecting the mysteries to play out that way and who was the actual dog napper. There was steamy scenes too between Grace and Nick when they got together. I loved how everything fell in place for them even though Grace just didn't want to consider that Nick was a great guy. I really enjoyed this book and the writing style of Maureen Fischer. This was a really funny book and I found myself laughing out loud at times (especially with how Aunt Beth was). I recommend this book to mystery readers out there, animal lovers, and readers who want a good laugh. You'll definitely enjoy this funny, mystery book.(less)

I'm a huge history buff at times. I would rather sit in a History class and learn about our past then dive into the present at times. So when Maureen contacted me to read and review her book "The Jaguar Legacy", I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately, it took me awhile to read this book since I had other priorities and I did find myself stepping away from this book a bit when I was reading it. It wasn't grabbing my attention, like I thought it would. This is my opinion on the book though and other readers may find this book more appealing to them. I did enjoy the mysteries, the history, and the romance brewing between Charley and sexy, Alistair (maybe it's because the Scottish accent, since I can perfect the accent in my mind...being married to half-Scottish man myself who has a Scottish family). Damn...how I love the Scottish accent. Yum!! Unfortunately, the book did drag on in certain parts and other parts it went fast pace. Like I stated before I enjoyed the mysteries of it and what Charley actually figured out what was happening to her from the black-outs. I also enjoyed the little bit of shifting back and forth to characters to dig inside of their heads instead of just Charley's. I didn't really like Charley's mother though. I have a huge problem with people who dive into the bottle too often and become dependent on it. It's been a huge debacle with me since I had a friend killed by a drunk driver. Hence, I'm the lady who drinks one glass of wine in my house or when I do go out I'm the designated driver. What Charley was doing for her Mother wasn't helping her and Alistair was trying to tell her, but she really wasn't listening. He even told his life story on what happened with him. I did love the Olmecss ways and of course getting glimpses of past experiences with the Olmecs in Charley's blackouts. Even though they ended up not being all that good in the end though once Charley put the clues together. In the end of the book, it comes together on what really is expected and what is supposed to be done to correct everything. (definitely read the book...if you want to know) I also wasn't very fond of Leila, Alistair's ex-wife...but that's to be expected though. You always have to have a villain and sometimes she just went too far. I recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure, history, and mystery. There's not too much romance in this book, but when there is, it's steamy. I will say this, Charley gave Alistair a hard time...and I liked her even more because of it. She never made it easy for him. =) This book was so and so for me. I did like certain things like I stated, but it just didn't enthrall me like I was expecting it too. I plan on reading the next book from Maureen, I got real soon though. I look forward to seeing what her next book is all about. One thing before I end the review...I do love the cover to the 2011 published version of "The Jaguar Legacy". If Maureen wouldn't of contacted me, and I saw this book on Goodreads or on Amazon...I would've bought it and read it no matter what. =) (less)

I received a complimentary copy of "The Darkest Day" from Netgalley, provided by the Publisher for my honest review. I'm so glad I was contacted by Britt Bury to read her debut novel of her series "The Immortal Heat". I fell in love the minute I started reading about these hunky Immortals. Kelvin Kerr is an immortal Razorback who has been out to avenge his father's death. He swore he would kill the male heir of the Campbells when he got the chance. He has hated the Campbells for years now. He never thought that the Campbell's next generation of ruler of the Fionn/Campbell Clans would be a woman. Not only that...but he would be attracted to her. Of course how can he be attracted to someone he's supposed to hate...and he also finds out she's human after her disguise disappears. Izel Fionn, just wanted to travel to Scotland to see her family, her grandfather Euan Campbell. She never thought she would be fighting with Kelvin Kerr. He's handsome and HUGE. She also never expected that her grandfather was keeping her safe by disguising her. She's the last human alive on Earth and she's the most wanted creature out there. All the immortal creatures want her dead. It's up to Kelvin Kerr to keep her safe...but does he have a secret agenda to kill her too. My thoughts on "The Darkest Day"...I loved the world that Britt Bury has created. This definitely is a great first book to the series. I was able to follow what was going on and I also got a glimpse of who the other immortal characters were that she will probably end up having books on. I really look forward to Ian's book. =) What did I think about the characters? I loved Kelvin, although he could be a jerk sometimes to Izel. She put him in his place though. He was one hunk of a Razorback, but of course like I stated he was a jerk at times. Although, in the ending he won my trust again when he finally admitted to Izel how he felt about her. (took him long enough though). Izel was a sweetheart and I was able to connect with her from the beginning. She got herself in dilemmas, but she was able to get out of them, except for one...but I won't give that away. I loved the other characters in the book too. I really want to find about the others in the Kerr Clan. I also want to find out more about the Fionn Clan. There's a certain Fionn...that I fell in love with because he was there for Izel. The ending was spectacular. I loved how everything played out. "The Darkest Day" had be laughing and crying. Laughing...because Izel and Kelvin kept bantering with each other and crying...because what happened at the end. Britt Bury and her series is very promising. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I recommend this book to anyone who loves the paranormal romance genre, loves reading debut authors and their series. You'll fall in love with these immortals just like I did. Thanks again, Britt, for contacting me. You have a fan for life. =) (less)

I received an email from Amber Lin a few days ago, asking if I would love to read her erotic romance that comes out soon. After reading the blurb of it, I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It's summer time and now that I have my nights back (no more getting up to get my oldest daughter on the bus). Now's it's time for this Book Lovin' Mama to enjoy staying up late with a an amazing, dark, sad erotic romance. "Giving it Up" starts off with Allie prowling a night club where she is trying to get a man to be rough with her. She ends up meeting the sexy, Colin who instead gives her the opposite of what she wants. Colin wants to see her again afterwards, but she's against it. She has a life waiting for her home. She also does these date nights out, to help her cope what happened to her two years ago. She was raped by her best friend...who she loved and cared about. She realized then she wouldn't be able to deal with him. She finds out she's pregnant and instead of telling her best friend, she runs. She ends up getting help from her best friend, Shelly, who helps her deal with the rape and also the pregnancy. She now has a beautiful two year old little girl who keeps her on her toes. She doesn't want a man in her life to hurt her or her child. Colin though is persistent to be there for her. He knows all about her and her daughter. Allie of course wants to know how he knows about her. Colin has his own dark secrets though, that involve his brother. He's supposedly a restaurant owner, but when his brother calls, he's always there for him. Allie realizes that her best friend, the man who raped her and her daughter's father is looking for her. She doesn't want anything to do with him. When he finds out the truth about Allie and what happened afterwards, he wants to be apart of her life or get custody of their daughter. Colin though wants to put a stop to the man who used to be Allie's best friend. My thoughts on Giving It Up, were it was a really dark and scary read at first. I felt terrible for Allie. She had gone through so much two years ago and then to find out what happened to her after she was raped by her best friend. I just wanted to go through the book and beat the crap out of the person who hurt her. No wonder why she couldn't trust a single male she came in contact with. She has some amazing friends who want to help her, but she is trying so hard to do it on her own. All I can say about Allie, is that she is one strong female. She puts up a good fight after awhile in the book. On top of everything she's going through, she always manages to be there for her daughter. She's a very loving mother to her daughter. When Alllie finds out what kind of stuff Colin's into, she doesn't run away, but she investigates further. She puts herself at risk, but she wants to know the truth and I do not blame her. Colin should've just came clean with her. The ending kind of ticked me off though and what Colin did when Allie admitted something to him. Grrr! There were so many problems that Allie had to face, sometimes by herself, but she did a good job handling it. I loved what she did with a certain character who tried to blackmail her. I love Amber Lin's writing style. After reading "Giving it Up", I'm definitely looking forward to Amber Lin's next books. She is whole entire writing style. I'm always reading the happy, sweet stories, but she wrote a book that was a major roller coaster for me. One minute I'm smiling, the next I'm about to punch a character in his face for Allie. Once you realize what happened to Allie and why she is the way she is, you will understand her better and feel sympathetic. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a erotic romance that has a dark, tense suspense to it. Be prepared to want to hurt some of the characters though. I know there were a few times, I would've loved to kick some butt for Allie. (less)

There were times I was smiling, laughing (where I almost fell out of my chair), and of course crying (because this book was a tearjerker at times) when reading this on my Kindle. I fell in love with both of the characters, Shane and Jen because both characters had been scarred in someway and of course they're trying to deal with their problems in their own way. Shane is a sergeant first class in the army and all he wants to do is go back to the sandbox with his boys and make sure they all come back alive. Jen is the nurse he meets one night at a bar with his friends. The minute he meets her...he knows she's something special. Shane has dealt with a lot in his past. He's trying to forget about his divorce with his wife and move on...but to move on...he considers deploying a lot with his fellow soldiers, the best way to heal. Instead...he ends up injured and sent home. That is when Jen comes into his life fully and he helps him deal with what happened to him in the sandbox. Unfortunately, Shane is not having it. He just wants to heal and get back with his men because in the bottom of his gut, he knows something is happening in his platoon and someone is not doing their job right and is blaming some of the casualties on Shane and his unit. Then there's Jen..and how she has her own problems, she's trying to deal with. (Her story touched my heart once I found out what happened to her) I don't think I've cried so hard in my life. Between and her Shane's inner and outer demons...I had to have tissues near by. Jessica Scott does a great job on telling the parts about the military and of course the problems that come with the military at times. She also includes other characters in the book, that touch your heart also. What I want to know is what happened to Trent? That was one serious cliff-hanger. Trent is one of Shane's best friends and he's also a Officer in the Army. He is having his own issues to the book and his wife...oh boy...no won't go there because I will spoil the book. I really do not want to spoil this book for anyone who is wanting to read it or now is thinking about reading it. I'm really looking forward to the 2nd book now that comes out in October. Jessica Scott has a fan for life. And by the way...I just love the fact that she is serving in the Army while she is writing. =) Thank you for serving, Jessica. I recommend this book to readers out there that love military contemporary romances, love to read about scarred heroes/heroines (because they always touch your heart), and readers who just want a book that takes you through an emotional roller coaster. (Just a warning ahead of time, be prepared with tissues)
Jessica Scott's "Because of You" touched my heart in so many ways because she happened to address some issues that are happening in our military nowadays...one being the major concern, which is suicide and another one being divorce. Being a veteran, myself, who served in the Navy for 10 years I witnessed so much in the military that civilians do not know about. The one thing that always concerned me was the suicide rate in the military branches, especially during and after an deployment. =( I wish they provided more help to the soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen that come back from a combat zone...especially when it involves family. There are programs out there...but they really need to address it more. (less)

I read this book in a couple of days because it had my attention from the beginning. I do not think I've ever read a book that was based on fairy tale characters, but told in a different way. Tess Little (who we would know as Little Red Riding Hood by the fairytales)...but in "Red", she is not the little red riding hood we all know. She actually goes by the nickname "Red" and she's an Enforcer for the Fairytale Management Authority. See the tales were sent over to the real world and they have to keep the "tales" in check from the humans. When there is a "tale" crime, Red is there to figure out what happened. Unfortunately, Red finds herself in a world of mess. She ends up having people she once loved, in the mince of the biggest crime ever. Someone is killing off tales and Red is stuck in the middle of it...because one of her ex-lovers may be the prime suspect. She is forced to find out which one did it...in the meant time, she also is trying to keep herself alive because someone is watching her. She is teamed up with Nate (otherwise known as Death) because he is a Reaper. He is perfect for the case and he does not mind teaming up with Red. Red has felt an attraction to Nate...but she is still not sure what it could be that attracts him to her. He is a pain in a butt...but he always shows up at the right time when she needs him. I really LOVED the characters, Red and Nate. Seriously...can I have Nate? He sounds really dark, dreamy, and sexy. =) Red was one kick butt character. I liked how she was not your little girl character. She was one chick you just did not want to mess with. This book brings you the fairy tales from the dark side, basically. Kate SeRine definitely kept me enthralled whenever a new fairytale character was introduced. You'll read about Snow White, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Juliet, the werewolf (from little red riding hood), the sandman, and so many others...but of course be prepared for not your regular stories because some of these characters have a dark side to them. Oh...and let me not forget the bad guys who are involved in the killings...let's just say I was surprised to find out who it was. =) I really enjoyed reading "Red" and look forward to the next book. I liked how Kate SeRine kept me clicking my Kindle to turn a page to read. She has a very interesting writing style and a wicked "cool" imagination. (taking my daughter's saying) =) I definitely recommend this book to urban fantasy and paranormal romance lovers out there. If you want the dark side of the fairy tale world...you definitely will enjoy this book. Can't wait to see what happens next! =) (less)

I went into reading "Magnolia" thinking that I would not like it since it was not the normal genre that I read, but I ended up enjoying it. IYou'll usually find me reading paranormal or erotica books. I am glad I got a chance to read "Magnolia" and read a book written by Carolina Garcia Aguilera.
Magnolia Larson moved all the way from Miami from Minneapolis because her boyfriend moved down there and she went with him. One hot night in Miami, she decides to leave Fred, her boyfriend, since he has changed drastically since they moved. Now she finds herself not knowing what to do with her life. She has tried everything to find a job in Miami, but nothing has come up. Now she's forced to decide if she will fly back home to Minneapolis since she purchased a ticket ahead of time just in case. She decides to go to a sports bar and think about what she's going to do. Fate happens and a sports agent by the name of Oona gives her, her card and asks Magnolia to stop by her office since she has a proposal that Magnolia may not be able to refuse. Magnolia decides to give Oona a chance and comes to find out that Oona wants Magnolia as a edge to her business since Oona is a sports agent and does not want to lose any of her male clients, she decides Magnolia will help her out by becoming the athletes "go to" person for anything they need to help them. Magnolia will be taken care of by Oona's company as long as Magnolia follows the rules if she accepts the offer. Magnolia will have to give up her normal life to become what Oona wants and she has to decide quickly....
"Magnolia" is a very well-written chick lit novel that definitely was a very enjoyable read. I was amazed on how much information that Carolina Garcia-Aguilera put in towards the book. She definitely put a lot of research into it. Made me wonder how athletes lives really are after reading this book. They definitely have it tough and even the sports agents have it tough to keep their clients happy.
Magnolia definitely helped out Oona and her clients and there were a lot of clients that were talked about in this book. I especially like the one involving the race car driver. I felt terrible for Magnolia though since she kept her life hidden from her family and really could not date anyone while she was being a what she called herself a "sports geisha". Now I have to wonder what happened next to Magnolia since the ending left me hanging. There was so much more that needed to be answered, but I can tell Carolina did it on purpose. I just hope Magnolia got her happily ever after eventually. She did deserve it.
If you like reading chick lit, you'll definitely enjoy this book by Carolina Garcia-Aguilera.
I received a complimentary copy of "Magnolia" from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. (less)

The book warns you in the beginning to be prepared for some really, really erotic situations and this book is meant for readers that are older and maturer and can handle the situations that Pynk writes about. (21+ and older) This is not your normal book. It takes you into a world of escorts and their jobs and their job is not easy. They endure some really terrible situations and sometimes they endure some very pleasurable ones. Madam Money Watts operates the Escort service, Lip Service, but it does not only include escorting. She has to keep her escorts situations secret and of course what the clients want secret as well. Money's escorts are her sister, Midori, Leilani and her male escort, Kemba Price. They do things that the state and the country sees as illegal, but to keep it hush, hush, they must have a middle man to take care of the booking and code names for the clients. Because the clients are big time politicians, celebrities, and sports players...and if the truth were to get out, they would have their reputations, jobs, and families on the line. Money is about to have her job and her life turned upside down when her sister's ex-pimp wants either Midori back or Kemba instead. Money is not having it of course. She also has issues with a client going to far. Her sister Midori then takes it upon herself to keep seeing the client who keeps taking it too far and one night when she does see him, her world will turn upside down, when it was turning up for the better. Then there's Money's other escorts Leilani, who just wants fame and Kemba who is most chosen by the lady clients, but may have a secret of his own that he does not even know about or at least not comfortable admitting.
Pynk writes a very erotic, emotional book that makes you realize how life in the escort world is not all glam or rich and how the famous think they can get away with everything, until one person can ruin it all for them. I loved being able to read about each of the escorts perspectives and their different scenes between their clients and also get a piece of their life story as well and how they came in the business with Money. The ending is a doozy and I was not expecting that to happen to the characters, especially Money and Leilani. Leilani was one character I did not like, but that's because I felt she turned her back on one just to become famous....but she actually was smart about it and knew how to play the game. Money's parents really ticked me off though, especially her Dad and I'll leave that alone because I could go on a rant about them a lone. Grrr!!
I really enjoy Pynk's writing style for this book because she made my emotions feel haywire and also made me uncomfortable at some points in the book. I actually cried on what happened towards the end of the book...(and there was a lot that happened, so I want tell you which really was emotional because I would give it away) If you like a book that will take you out of your comfort zone, this is the book for you. You'll feel the emotions of each character in the book (the escorts and a few other characters that play a significant role as well). I definitely will be checking out the rest of Pynk's books. And can I say also that I loved the ending of the book on what men should do for women. =) Definitely going to have my hubby read that very soon.

Excuse me, while I fan myself because this was one HOT book. I have read erotic books before with menage in them, but nothing like this book. Barbara Elsborg definitely knows how to write a very sexy, steamy, hot scene between two guys and one girl. And can I just say the girl was lucky. =)
Wren has dated some awful blokes in the past, in fact, she still happens to see one every day when she goes to work since he's married to her cousin and works at the same school she does. She even had a guy she thought loved her, but ended up stealing her money and charging up her credit card. She feels she will never meet a good guy she can trust with her heart. Wren never thought she would be tempted in life with two guys...until she meets Tomas and Adam. Adam she met five years ago in Venice, Italy. They had a very steamy moment together and they thought, they would never see each other again....then there's Tomas who is in Wren's English class. Wren believes something is up with him since he manages to make jokes in English and he will not stop flirting with her. She knows she should not hook up with a student, but Tomas is making it tough on her. Wren is already tempted by Tomas in class and then she finds out Adam is in her Italian class. She has two guys now sneaking her attention. Although, Tomas and Adam have their own secret agenda for her and themselves. Adam is on vacation from London, England trying to get his assistants out of his head and trying to come with peace that he will never have what they have in a relationship. Until he meets Tomas next door and runs into Wren....now he thinks he has met the two people who will change his life for the better. And Tomas is living a secret life that he is trying to keep to himself, until Wren ends up in the middle of it and so does Adam.
I could go on and on, but I will spoil the book for readers who want to give it go. Let me just tell you ahead of time....this is a menage book that involves male on male, male on male on female and lots of sex, which includes anal and many other things. (You get the idea) It also includes a fetish club that involves dressing up and many other things that you can think of that may happen in a fetish club. I just wanted to warn you a head of time before you dive into this book. I really enjoyed the storyline of the book as well as, if you have not guess, the sexual encounters between all three characters as well. Barbara definitely supplies you with suspense, romance, and very erotic moments. I know for a fact I needed a cold shower after every sex scene between Wren, Tomas, and Adam. Wren definitely got with two experienced guys who helped her make her mind up with the experience they offered her. Once you start this book, you will want to figure out what is going on where Wren works, why Tomas has to work with the bad buy, and if Adam is hiding something (because he is sometimes too good to be true). Wren was one strong female character who happened to get her self into a lot of trouble through the book, but she handles it well. Adam had his insecurities about having a relationship with Wren and Tomas and if they were willing to be a threesome. He was trying everything to come to terms to what happened to him in the past. Tomas had his own past he had to deal with and get over. He was trying everything to keep his secret hidden, but when it fell through, he just wanted to keep everyone he loved safe. If you love erotica that involves menage, that includes lots of sex (regular, anal, etc...) and also enjoy some suspense and action, you will definitely enjoy "Girl Most Likely to". You will also eventually find out the meaning behind the title of the book. =) I will definitely be checking out Barbara's other books very soon. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the Author in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and is not a paid review. (less)

This is my first book from the fabulous Katie Porter and it definitely will not be my last. My blog partner has read Katie's books before and I read the synopsis of "Lead and Follow", I knew it was one book I had to read from Katie Porter.
"Lead and Follow" is a erotica with M/M and Menage in it. Erotica is one of my fave genres and having M/M and Menage elements made this book beyond HOT. Remember me saying the synopsis sold me on reading this book, well reading this book, I definitely look forward to reading the next book in the Club Devant series and so on. This is the first book I have read that has dancing in it and the dancing is ballroom style, but with a lot of sexiness involved. Here you have the sexy Russian who has the right moves and the sexy blonde bombshell who knows the sexy Russian's moves by heart. In fact she knows how to make the Russian fall for her.
After her injury while dancing with her partner, Lizzie has been coping with what happen. She could lose everything she ever worked for including her partner if she does not get her act together. Dima remembers the day his partner tore her ACL and it has been eating at him since then. He wants his dance partner back, but she has been acting different ever since the injury. Club Devant where Dima dances at now with his new partner is not what he truly wants. He feels stressed due to what happened to his partner and the club owner knows something is missing in Dima's life. It takes an outsider to have Lizzie and Dima realize what they are capable of doing together. Paul, the outsider who is the bartender at Club Devant meets with Lizzie and has some fun with her and he is intrigued with Dima the minute he sees him. Lizzie and Dima are about to make his world different, but he is about to change their world as well.
Katie Porter pulls you into story of two stubborn friends who put themselves through so much drama and sex. She thens makes you run to take several cold showers after all the amazing sex between Paul, Dima, and Lizzie. OMG! Just thinking about those scenes...makes me want to have a cold glass of water to calm down. Dima and Lizzie have so much chemistry, not only because of their dances together, but being there with and for each other since they were young. I fell in love with both them the minute they were introduced. The best part of this book was you get inside the head of both of them so you feel each of their emotions and what they are going through. Who did I side with more though...Dima. Poor guy...he definitely was feeling crazy over what Lizzie kept putting him through. I just wanted to go through the book and hug him and maybe even steal him from Lizzie. I was rooting for them to get together though. They definitely were meant for each other. Paul, the sexy cowboy bartender....my thoughts on him...sex in a cowboy hat...enough said on that one. Remember the saying, save a horse, ride a cowboy....definitely thinking that when I read the scenes with Paul. Lizzie was one lucky gal in this story. She had both Dima and Paul. She needed that swift kick in the butt at the end though. Oh...and the ending was the best part in the story. I was literally in tears. I felt like I was on stage with Dima when his dance partner came into the light.
Katie Porter's "Lead and Follow" is an amazing sexy start to the Club Devant novels. The title alone should have you wanting to buy the book because the title has meaning to the story and what happens between the characters.
I give this book 4.5 full moons and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy the erotica genre. I look forward to what Katie Porter does in the next books and I will be well-prepared ahead of time when I read the next books too...cold water and ice to help me cool down and maybe even a glass of wine or two or three. Oh yes...this is that kind of book.

No Judgments. No limits. No shame. <----- Sign me Up. =) "S.E.C.R.E.T" is the first book to L. Marie Adeline's SECRET novels...and it definitely had some very HOT moments.
It opens up with Cassie Robichaud, who has it rough since she left her home state with her husband to make a life in New Orleans. Unfortunately, her life is turned upside down the minute her husband changes and suddenly passes away tragically. The moment her husband dies, she lives a life that is predictable. She even has her boss at the diner tell her she needs to get out more and experience life. When she ends up coming across a woman's personal journal that shares her experiences with men, Cassie starts thinking she is missing out on what life has to offer. She has only been with one man, her husband, and she has not really done anything for over fives years. What Cassie does not realize is her life is about to do a 360, the minute she picks up that woman's journal. She's about to find out about the underground society that helps women like Cassie experience life again and have Cassie live her most intimate fantasies that she has always wanted.
This book definitely is about growing as a person sexually, emotionally, and physically. It shows how a woman like Cassie can become confident in herself and what she can do and believe me there were several scenarios where Cassie definitely had to be confident. She was tasked to complete nine lessons that would help her complete her journey with S.E.C.R.E.T. After those were completed, she would be able to follow her own path or become one of the full-time members at the underground society. She definitely was one lucky woman who got to fulfill her fantasies with nine sexy men. Oh boy...was she lucky...and made me think that I could not do some of the stuff she did.
I loved this novel the minute I read the first page, to the middle pages, but once it got to the very end, I was really disappointed. I did not like the ending. I actually was in shock on what the ending was for Cassie. I was hoping for something else. I loved how L. Marie Adeline kept me on the edge of my seat with everything that Cassie went through, but I felt she deserved something better at the end. She needed it, actually. I have no idea what the author will do next, especially in the second book. Will she continue on with Cassie's story, or someone else's. I'm hoping Cassie's story continues.
If you want a book that teaches you to be confident about your life (especially sexually) and what you can accomplish....because believe me after reading Cassie's story, you'll want to have your own list of fantasies made up....then definitely read this book. If you can handle a book that throws you off at the end, then this book is for you. I liked this book, but like I stated, the ending ruined it for me. Will I read the second book...most definitely. I have nothing against what the author did. In fact, I give her applause for doing something different. I really, really, really loved the idea of this secret underground though. =) Makes me wonder, if secretly there are ones out there.(less)
