This is not my usual genre in the last few months since I have been on a contemporary and suspense kick for awhile, but when I read the description of "His Black Wings" I thought it would be something I would enjoy. I recommend to not really read the book's blurb though above because it will give the book away too much. At least that's my opinion. "His Black Wings" is about Claren Maidstone and how she has lost her parents to a boating accident and now is forced to flee and hide due to the man she was supposed to marry is out to get her because she harmed him and so did her dog. Claren ends up answering ad from Frederick Lowood to become has assistant, but she really does not assist him. Frederick has his own secret agenda of searching out Claren. He actually has been keeping an eye on her for awhile and has had it out for her family since his father died. Claren's family comes from a industry that ended up making Frederick's son the way he is. If anyone was to find out about Frederick's son, they would either want to experiment on him or send him to the one place that Frederick has been trying to forget about. Frederick ends up asking Claren to become his son's friend, but he's afraid that his son, Estrigan will be upset since he really hasn't been seen. He only comes out at night when the staff at his home are gone and he can move around freely or actually fly around freely. Estrigan is one of a kind...who has black wings. When Estrigan finds out Claren is living with them, he is upset about it, afraid she will run away screaming...instead he becomes intrigued with the girl and will do anything to know her, especially when he sees her crying one evening.
"His Black Wings" was an enjoyable read, but it did not capture my interest until the story of what Frederick was up to and how Estrigan came to have the black wings. I also liked finding out about the backstory of Frederick. I really thought the book started out slow and I actually thought I would not finish it until Claren moved into Frederick's house and Estrigan was introduced. He was ruthless to Claren at first and Calren just wanted to find out why. The moment Estrigan saw Claren with other males who wanted to capture her interest, he started changing. There was a lot going on with Frederick and what he was doing and then the guy, Kurten that Claren ended up hurting in the beginning and what his secret agenda was on trying to get Claren. He was actually annoying and I definitely believed he got what was coming to him in the end. Decker and Horace got my attention when they were fighting over Claren and they had a bigger role later on in the book. They cared a lot about Claren and just wanted her safe even though they did not know her well. All and all, this book got 3 stars. It was much different from what I am used to. It just did not capture my interest that I was hoping. It took me awhile to get into. I did enjoy certain characters over others. I enjoyed a different take of what Astrid wrote. It is not an Angel book. It has a different storyline all together which made it fascinating. It has a little steampunk to it, I believe which is one genre I definitely need to dive into more. Claren was a strong character who definitely keep me interested in as well. Estrigan will be my favorite though, even when he was mean to Claren. I recommend the book to YA Fantasy readers out there. You'll definitely enjoy this story that Astrid wrote. Maybe if I was not into a contemporary or suspense kick I would have enjoyed this book more. It definitely would be something I would have enjoyed as a kid or as a teen more.

My first book from the fabulous author, Karen Stivali, and now I cannot wait to read her other books. "Meant to Be" is a definite page turner and will have you rooting for Daniel and Marienne to be with each other. =)
Daniel is a Professor at NYU and his wife, Justine, who is about to open her own Spa has him move to the suburbs where he hopes to start a family finally. When Daniel is not working as a professor he volunteers at the local theater where he meets up with his neighbor Marienne. He already knows her husband, Frank, who he rides with to work every weekday on the rail. He has been meaning to meet Marienne since they moved in behind Daniel. They automatically become close friends and decide to have Friday nights as couples nights, where Marienne and Frank have Daniel and his wife over and vice versa. In the meantime though, Daniel, is trying to hide his feelings for Marienne every time he sees her, and Marienne is trying to hide her feelings for Daniel. They have come to realize they both have so much more in common and that they were most likely meant to each other, especially when Daniel finds out Marienne has pictures of him from his past. Marienne finds out the truth on how Daniel met his wife and she thinks it is wrong what Justine did and continuously does to Daniel. Daniel does not even realize the real truth on how Justine met him and what her real intentions were. Daniel realizes a truth about Justine, when Marienne has the best miracle happen to her and Daniel is starting to realize he may never have what Frank and Marienne have. Until Daniel finds out the truth about what Frank is doing to Marienne behind her back.
"Meant to Be" is about a two people who were actually meant to meet each other, but they have to meet the wrong person first, before they can meet their actual match. Daniel and Marienne were meant to be together especially when they start sharing stories of the past together. Karen definitely did a great job with this story and how true love will find itself eventually. I thought "Meant to Be" was such a sweet story and I fell in love with the character Daniel as soon as he was introduced. He helped Marienne so much, even more than her husband, Frank, who was such a jerk to her. Justine was just as bad to Daniel, but she had a back story to why she hooked up with Daniel in the first place and that made me hate her even more. I had such a hard time putting down this book because I wanted to find out what would happen next to Daniel and Marienne. I was so mad on what Frank was doing to Marienne when the truth came out at the end and I was happy to what finally happened at the ending. I definitely cannot wait to read the next installment to Daniel and Marienne's story now and I definitely look forward to reading other books from Karen Stivali as well. This book may make you mad on the significant others of Daniel and Marienne, but you'll definitely want to know if Daniel and Marienne eventually get their happily ever after, especially with what they ordeal in this book. I recommend this book to contemporary romance readers out there. You'll fall in love with Daniel's sweet British ways and also fall in love Marienne's character as well. Just a warning, this book may make you hungry for cakes, cookies, etc. Marienne's character bakes and cooks a lot and she definitely had me wanting to bake after I finished this book. =) I received a complimentary copy of "Meant to Be from the Author in exchange for an honest review....more

Author Abbey MacInnis writes a book about two people who need to find love again and this time have it last forever and they need the help of one of Santa's elves to make it happen. Although, the elf Santa does pick is actually being punished to get the deed of the humans together since she was found almost ruining the secret of Christmas due to her love of a mortal. Jinx...the elf who Santa has sent on the mission to bring the two humans together has her work cut out for her since Christopher Reagan does not believe in love no longer and Natalie has had her heart broken. Let's just say, Jinx will have to make the humans come together without her magic and if she fails she'll be forced to go to the elf prison. Christopher is CEO of Wondrous Toys and he always makes a trip to Michigan during the holidays to be alone and drink from the bottle that has taken over his life since his last love broke his heart. He never thought the stubborn and very determined new CEO of Enchanted Toys, Natalie Burnes would change his Thanksgiving holiday by showing up to his cabin to stop him from buying up shares of her company. Natalie Burnes knows what kind of man Chris is and she is determined to get her family's company back up and running. Chris though has his own secret agenda of Natalie's company and he knows something is going on behind her back, but he has to make sure he's correct before he tells her. Both Christopher and Natalie are about to realize their fate was sealed to meet all because of a elf and her mission.
I really enjoyed "Holiday Jinx" because it had romance, comedy, and even drama. I actually see it becoming a movie one day, especially on ABC Family or Hallmark channels. It has two characters who have had their heart broken, but differently and they also have had their own family drama, but Natalie is naive on what is going on with hers. Natalie was annoying at times because she could not see through what was going on and then when at the end Christopher announced his true intentions. She really did need Chris from the beginning and everything ends up working out in her favor because when love conquers everything. I will definitely be checking out Abbey MacInnis's other books that she has written in the very near future since this was my first book from her.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves Christmas themed books that is contemporary romance with paranormal twist. It was a very much different read, especially with having Santa and the elf, Jinx playing a part. I never knew Santa could be mean, but I guess he means business when it comes to giving away his secrets. Jinx was one mischievous character, but she definitely played a very comedic role in the book. =) And can I say...I love the title of this book. =)

I was looking for a short christmas themed erotic book that would capture my interest since I hardly read holiday themed books. "Wish List" by Sylvia Day (which originally was published in White Hot Holidays Vol 2) definitely did not disappoint and now has me looking for other christmas themed books. I also did not want to miss out on an opportunity to read another book from Sylvia.
Stephanie Martin has had feelings for Nicolas for awhile now, but never thought it would work out because Nick is too much of a play boy. He goes through women like crazy. At the annual Christmas party for their law firm though, Stephanie opens up her Secret Santa gift and to her amazement, she is about to get one of her Christmas Wish List items crossed off. How did Nick know about her secret Wish List...she'll only be able to find out if she asks him. Nicolas has been trying everything to capture Stephanie's interests. He has been flirting with her for the past months and all of his ex-girlfriends, friends and family members want to know why he just does not ask Stephanie out. He wants to make it special and one night when he comes across a crumpled piece of paper with some wish list items that include his name....now is his shot to win over the beautiful and sexy co-worker he has had eyes on forever.
I thought Wish List definitely was a very erotic, sexy, fast pace read that I had a hard time putting down. I literally read it in less than a hour. I enjoyed the storyline of having a naughty wish list being fulfilled. Makes me want to create my own instead of having an actual gift. Watch out hubby. =) Nicolas could definitely be every woman's dream come true when it came to fulfilling wish lists and making dreams come true and the ending I literally teared up on when he found out the truth on why Stephanie was so distant and why she did not think a real relationship would work out between them. Nicolas though, fought hard to win her over. It may be a short read, but Wish List will keep anyone warm during the cold winter nights for just a short awhile and maybe who knows it will make you want to come up with your own naughty wish list with your significant other....or even win over that special someone you've had your eye on for awhile.
I definitely look forward to reading more books from Sylvia very soon. I'm a HUGE fan of her books and this book definitely is a must-read again for next Christmas. ...more

I purchased a copy of "Quick Fix" because I wanted to dive into the first book in the Ecstasy Spa Novels because I received a complimentary copy of the 2nd book to the series from the Author. First off, let me just say I love the name of this book. It definitely fits the story well and made me intrigued to read it even more. Anabelle is about to experience her first special spa treatment at the facility known as Ecstasy Spa, where all your fantasies come true. She needs a fantasy due to her boyfriend dumping her, saying she is not very adventurous in the bedroom. Her friend has ordered Anabelle to try out the services at the Ecstasy Spa and she's getting the special package that only certain clients get. She needs the package called "Quick Fix" to hopefully fix what she has a problem with. She's wanting to prove her ex-boyfriend wrong and herself...that she can be adventurous and sexy. She has to sign a contract saying she will not ask the person who is about to give her "Quick Fix" out or indulge into giving any information of her personal life out or ask about his. The minute Anabelle sees Seth, she knows it is going to be difficult to fulfill the contract. Seth is not what she expected at all. He is about to prove Anabelle that she is wrong about herself and Anabelle is about to prove Seth wrong about first impressions.
My thoughts on the first book to the Ecstasy Spa Novels is that I really enjoyed this steamy, sexy book that definitely had me wanting more. I loved both characters Anabelle and Seth. Anabelle needed someone to show her she was capable of doing things out of her comfort zone and Seth needed someone to prove to him that every woman was not the same. Suzanne Rock wrote some really, really erotic scenes between the characters that will require you to have a cold shower after wards or for the ones who smoke, a cigarette after being able to visualize how Suzanne wrote the encounter between Seth and Anabelle. SEXY HOT! I love the story of the Ecstasy Spa and how different it is from other erotic novels I have read. Can I also say...Seth is a hottie! He came up with the idea of the Quick Fix...and it definitely was a great fix for Anabelle and himself. She definitely showed she was able to do things out of her comfort zone. She gave herself doubt in the beginning, but when she finally gave in, she grew as a character. I definitely was looking forward to the 2nd book after finishing this book even more. Suzanne Rock is one author who I will definitely read more books from. =) If you want a short erotic read, you'll definitely enjoy the first book to the Ecstasy Spa Novels. ...more

I honestly can say I am now officially addicted to Suzanne Rock's books. This is my 2nd book from her and I really enjoy the steaminess of the books she writes. There short, but they definitely quench the erotic thirst. =)
Lily has been working at the Ecstasy Spa for a couple of years now. She is known as the person who men go to for a massage with scented oils since that is what she specializes in. Her boyfriend, Ian, does not know about her job. In fact, she's trying everything to keep it from him since he means the world to her and she knows it will break his heart to find out the truth. One night while closing up shop at the Ecstasy Spa, Lily is surprised with Ian shows up to her work to surprise her for her birthday. Ian finds out the truth on what Lily does and he is heartbroken. He does not know if he should stick with her, but when he finds out what she does in the room with the men, he wants to find out for himself, if she would do the same things she does to her clients to him. Lily is confused at first and is trying everything to convince Ian that the clients mean nothing to her. Ian is the one that has her heart and he's special to her. She only does this to have money for rent and her bills she must pay. Lily may have to give up Ecstasy Spa if she wants to stay with Ian...or she may end up breaking his heart and choosing the Spa over him.
My thoughts on "Aromatherapy" was that it did have its steamy moments and hotness, but I did not feel a connection with the characters like a did the first book. Ian seemed to be a little controlling over Lily. She was trying to pour her heart out on why she chose the Ecstasy Spa over every other Spa job out there. She could not find another job out there to pay her bills and Lily's boss, Celeste, knew Lily would be a great asset to the Spa. She also tried to reason with Ian and tell him that he meant the world to her and the clients did not. I did see the reason why Ian would be upset with her. She had not even been with him yet and he did not know why she could not look other places for a job, but instead let other men touch her when he had not had the pleasure to do the things she does to the other men. Just because I did not click with the characters though does not mean I did not enjoy "Aromatherapy". Let's just say it was another book from Suzanne I had a hard time putting down. I enjoyed the ending once every thing fell together and I definitely loved the steamy, hot scenes between the characters, especially the shower scene. (HOT!) And of course the scene in Lily's room with her scents as well. Ian just wanted Lily to open up to him and Lily wanted to show Ian she loved him over the men she had been with. This was another amazing erotic short read from Suzanne Rock and I definitely cannot wait to dive in the rest of the books now after reading the first two. If you want to read about a Ecstasy Spa that indulges in your fantasies than definitely check out these books from Suzanne Rock. Excuse me, while I fan myself because this was one HOT book. I have read erotic books before with menage in them, but nothing like this book. Barbara Elsborg definitely knows how to write a very sexy, steamy, hot scene between two guys and one girl. And can I just say the girl was lucky. =)
Wren has dated some awful blokes in the past, in fact, she still happens to see one every day when she goes to work since he's married to her cousin and works at the same school she does. She even had a guy she thought loved her, but ended up stealing her money and charging up her credit card. She feels she will never meet a good guy she can trust with her heart. Wren never thought she would be tempted in life with two guys...until she meets Tomas and Adam. Adam she met five years ago in Venice, Italy. They had a very steamy moment together and they thought, they would never see each other again....then there's Tomas who is in Wren's English class. Wren believes something is up with him since he manages to make jokes in English and he will not stop flirting with her. She knows she should not hook up with a student, but Tomas is making it tough on her. Wren is already tempted by Tomas in class and then she finds out Adam is in her Italian class. She has two guys now sneaking her attention. Although, Tomas and Adam have their own secret agenda for her and themselves. Adam is on vacation from London, England trying to get his assistants out of his head and trying to come with peace that he will never have what they have in a relationship. Until he meets Tomas next door and runs into Wren....now he thinks he has met the two people who will change his life for the better. And Tomas is living a secret life that he is trying to keep to himself, until Wren ends up in the middle of it and so does Adam.
I could go on and on, but I will spoil the book for readers who want to give it go. Let me just tell you ahead of time....this is a menage book that involves male on male, male on male on female and lots of sex, which includes anal and many other things. (You get the idea) It also includes a fetish club that involves dressing up and many other things that you can think of that may happen in a fetish club. I just wanted to warn you a head of time before you dive into this book. I really enjoyed the storyline of the book as well as, if you have not guess, the sexual encounters between all three characters as well. Barbara definitely supplies you with suspense, romance, and very erotic moments. I know for a fact I needed a cold shower after every sex scene between Wren, Tomas, and Adam. Wren definitely got with two experienced guys who helped her make her mind up with the experience they offered her. Once you start this book, you will want to figure out what is going on where Wren works, why Tomas has to work with the bad buy, and if Adam is hiding something (because he is sometimes too good to be true). Wren was one strong female character who happened to get her self into a lot of trouble through the book, but she handles it well. Adam had his insecurities about having a relationship with Wren and Tomas and if they were willing to be a threesome. He was trying everything to come to terms to what happened to him in the past. Tomas had his own past he had to deal with and get over. He was trying everything to keep his secret hidden, but when it fell through, he just wanted to keep everyone he loved safe. If you love erotica that involves menage, that includes lots of sex (regular, anal, etc...) and also enjoy some suspense and action, you will definitely enjoy "Girl Most Likely to". You will also eventually find out the meaning behind the title of the book. =) I will definitely be checking out Barbara's other books very soon. The book warns you in the beginning to be prepared for some really, really erotic situations and this book is meant for readers that are older and maturer and can handle the situations that Pynk writes about. (21+ and older) This is not your normal book. It takes you into a world of escorts and their jobs and their job is not easy. They endure some really terrible situations and sometimes they endure some very pleasurable ones. Madam Money Watts operates the Escort service, Lip Service, but it does not only include escorting. She has to keep her escorts situations secret and of course what the clients want secret as well. Money's escorts are her sister, Midori, Leilani and her male escort, Kemba Price. They do things that the state and the country sees as illegal, but to keep it hush, hush, they must have a middle man to take care of the booking and code names for the clients. Because the clients are big time politicians, celebrities, and sports players...and if the truth were to get out, they would have their reputations, jobs, and families on the line. Money is about to have her job and her life turned upside down when her sister's ex-pimp wants either Midori back or Kemba instead. Money is not having it of course. She also has issues with a client going to far. Her sister Midori then takes it upon herself to keep seeing the client who keeps taking it too far and one night when she does see him, her world will turn upside down, when it was turning up for the better. Then there's Money's other escorts Leilani, who just wants fame and Kemba who is most chosen by the lady clients, but may have a secret of his own that he does not even know about or at least not comfortable admitting.
Pynk writes a very erotic, emotional book that makes you realize how life in the escort world is not all glam or rich and how the famous think they can get away with everything, until one person can ruin it all for them. I loved being able to read about each of the escorts perspectives and their different scenes between their clients and also get a piece of their life story as well and how they came in the business with Money. The ending is a doozy and I was not expecting that to happen to the characters, especially Money and Leilani. Leilani was one character I did not like, but that's because I felt she turned her back on one just to become famous....but she actually was smart about it and knew how to play the game. Money's parents really ticked me off though, especially her Dad and I'll leave that alone because I could go on a rant about them a lone. Grrr!!
I really enjoy Pynk's writing style for this book because she made my emotions feel haywire and also made me uncomfortable at some points in the book. I actually cried on what happened towards the end of the book...(and there was a lot that happened, so I want tell you which really was emotional because I would give it away) If you like a book that will take you out of your comfort zone, this is the book for you. You'll feel the emotions of each character in the book (the escorts and a few other characters that play a significant role as well). I definitely will be checking out the rest of Pynk's books. And can I say also that I loved the ending of the book on what men should do for women. =) Definitely going to have my hubby read that very soon.

I have read the first book in the Caged series by Amber Lynn Natusch and jumped at the chance to read another book from her, as well as try a book by Shannon Morton. I am always looking to find more Authors that will keep me reading and leave me hanging at the end of the book. "Tempted by Evil" is not a usual YA book that I would find myself reading, but the description of it was interesting and I could not wait to find out who was the sheltered girl, the perfect boy, and the mysterious stranger. Aspen who has only life in a convent, never knew her parents. All she knows is that they died when she was really young. She is not living in the convent and trying to make her life carry on. She meets a boy who is willing to help her in anyway he can. He gives her a home and even gets her a job thanks to his parents. When Aspen, comes across another stranger while working, he intrigues her. He is always there watching her for some reason. Aspen starts to hear voices and see people other people cannot see. In fact, she is starting to question herself. When she finds out the truth on what is happening to her, she learns that the people she thought she could trust and the people who took care of her, are the ones who want her live out the prophecy, but in a evil way. Aspen does not know who to trust now...the boy who gave her a new life may be tempting her in the wrong way and the other stranger told her to not trust anyone, but herself. Is the prophecy being told really true. Is she the one to determine the fate of mankind and the world?
My thoughts after reading "Tempted by Evil" is that I need to know what happens now after reading that cliffhanger, but I do have to say the book did not peek my interest until towards the end. When the truth came out, I was neglecting my duties at home to find out happened next to Aspen and find out the truth about Merrick ( the stranger ) and the real truth about Julian (the boy who helped Aspen) because there was a another motive with him. I just could not figure it out until the end. I love the fact the book was different from what I have read before. Prophecies and towards the end, the truth of Aspen's parents and why she is considered apart of the prophecy and what she actually supposed to do. I give the beginning and the middle of the book 3 stars...but the end 4 stars, which is the reason why the my review is 3.5 stars for total. I am planning on reading the next book because Shannon and Amber definitely had me in shock after Aspen chose her path. I would have chosen the other side...Ahh! Aspen has her reasons, I guess. I recommend this book to readers who love the YA paranormal genre. If you are a fan of Amber's Caged Series, you'll definitely want to check out this new trilogy from her and Shannon. This is my first book from the author Melinda Leigh, and I will definitely say it will not be my last. I am now addicted to her She Can novels. I need a break from the paranormal every once in awhile and I am due to read "She Can Tell" the 2nd book in Melinda's She Can series...but I wanted to read the first book in the series first. I have a problem reading out of order, even when people tell me I can without being confused. I have a huge pet peeve if I do not read in order.
Elizabeth Baker, aka Beth Markham is on the run with her kids from her husband, Congressman Richard Baker since he nearly killed her one night when she found out the truth of what was going on with him. Poor Beth thought her life would be so much better. She has lost her first husband to a car accident and thought it would be happily ever after with Richard. Unfortunately, she was dead wrong and now must live with a different identity thanks to her Uncle James. Uncle James sends her to a secluded place where she is supposed to be the care taken of his old friend Danny's house. When she gets there Danny has passed away and does not know if she will keep her job at the house since Danny's nephew is now owner of the house. Jack O'Malley, former Philadelphia homicide detective did not even know about his Uncle Daddy hiring a caretaker, let alone, one that would bring her two kids a long as well. He decides to keep her as care taker, but finds her and her kids very mysterious. Beth's daughter, Katie is scared to be around Jack and Ben seems to keep to himself as well. Jack wants to find out the truth about Beth and her kids since she is living under his roof and taking care of things around the house. He is forced to be at home since his incident in the force and he will most likely never work in the field again. When Jack finds out the truth about Beth and her kids, he will do anything to keep her safe as well as her kids...especially when he is starting to develop feelings for the strong-willed woman who came into his life unexpectedly. Not only is Jack trying to keep Beth safe, but he is also asked to help with a serial killer case that hits close to home.
"She Can Run" is definitely great first book to the series that opens up with a lot of suspense, mystery, and romance. I loved the fact that Melinda Leigh kept me on the edge of my seat because she not only had a killer on the loose where Beth and the kids were now living, but Beth was dealing with her past trying to catch up with her. I was trying everything to figure out who the killer was in town. It had to be someone close by. Once the clues came together, I was in shock to find out who it was. The other storyline about Beth and her husband that she was trying to run from, that had a secret to it at well. Let's just say be prepared for lots of twists and turns in this book...which made it hard to put down, at least for myself. I loved Beth because even everything that she has gone through, she still managed to keep her strength. The only time she really showed weakness is when she was trying to sleep and when she was afraid to be touched. She definitely was meant to meet someone like Jack because she had not been with someone who really showed how he cared since her first husband passed away. Jack definitely had his ups and downs to him, but when he came down to his character, he opened up once he found out everything that was going on. He had it hard for awhile, until he accepted what he needed to do after his Uncle passed away. I really getting different points of views in this book and actually being in the head of Beth, Jack, Richard and even the killer's head. It was definitely different. I look forward to reading Melinda's next book, "She Can Tell" very soon since I definitely need another romantic suspense tale that will keep me guessing who the killer could be and of course have some romance to it as well. =) Melinda definitely put some steam in "She Can Run" between Jack and Beth. =) I highly recommend "She Can Run" to readers who love the romantic suspense genre. You'll definitely want to keep clicking through your Kindle to find out the truth on what is going on and help solve who the killer is actually....more

Her son is going to be one very powerful Naphil (half angel/half human). His Guardians who are Sarah and Jackson will do about anything to keep himself. He even has a Warrior Angel by the name of Reniel to keep him safe as well. Unfortunately, they were not prepared for what the demon who wants him for himself to open a portal and steal him in minced a battle. Now...Nathaniel has to help his past love to find their son and bring him back...and also help Carmen with her Oracle powers that she is still trying to learn.
I could go on in the description of the book, but I will give too much away. This is the final installment so I definitely do not want to give it away. Elise Marion definitely made the Angels Among Us go out with a bang. She also picked the perfect characters to finish the trilogy as well. She even brought in previous characters from "Tempted" since they played a vital role in this book. Can I just say...I love Reniel from the previous book and now this book even more. =) I felt a very close connection with the character, Carmen, since she is one strong female who can handle anything and she will do anything to get her son back. Nathaniel who had me fighting his demon from taking over was amazing as well. He fought the hardest of them all because he did not want to become what Lucifer wanted him to be. The ending was epic and I definitely look forward to the spin-off series even more after getting a small glimpse into it at the end of "Redemption". I was wondering since there was questions at the end that needed to be answered. Even the angels said there's more going on that needs to be finished. Angels Among Us, just introduced us to three angels who fell in love and how they were able to live their lives with their loved ones. There's a battle now that needs to be conquered...or should I say battles.
Elise Marion definitely did not disappoint in the last book and it definitely had me crying as well. I love her writing style since it is very descriptive, powerful, and emotional. If you have not read this trilogy yet, what are you waiting for. Warning though, you will miss the Angels after your done reading all 3 books.

I went into reading "Magnolia" thinking that I would not like it since it was not the normal genre that I read,Review also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I went into reading "Magnolia" thinking that I would not like it since it was not the normal genre that I read, but I ended up enjoying it. IYou'll usually find me reading paranormal or erotica books. I am glad I got a chance to read "Magnolia" and read a book written by Carolina Garcia Aguilera.
Magnolia Larson moved all the way from Miami from Minneapolis because her boyfriend moved down there and she went with him. One hot night in Miami, she decides to leave Fred, her boyfriend, since he has changed drastically since they moved. Now she finds herself not knowing what to do with her life. She has tried everything to find a job in Miami, but nothing has come up. Now she's forced to decide if she will fly back home to Minneapolis since she purchased a ticket ahead of time just in case. She decides to go to a sports bar and think about what she's going to do. Fate happens and a sports agent by the name of Oona gives her, her card and asks Magnolia to stop by her office since she has a proposal that Magnolia may not be able to refuse. Magnolia decides to give Oona a chance and comes to find out that Oona wants Magnolia as a edge to her business since Oona is a sports agent and does not want to lose any of her male clients, she decides Magnolia will help her out by becoming the athletes "go to" person for anything they need to help them. Magnolia will be taken care of by Oona's company as long as Magnolia follows the rules if she accepts the offer. Magnolia will have to give up her normal life to become what Oona wants and she has to decide quickly....
"Magnolia" is a very well-written chick lit novel that definitely was a very enjoyable read. I was amazed on how much information that Carolina Garcia-Aguilera put in towards the book. She definitely put a lot of research into it. Made me wonder how athletes lives really are after reading this book. They definitely have it tough and even the sports agents have it tough to keep their clients happy.
Magnolia definitely helped out Oona and her clients and there were a lot of clients that were talked about in this book. I especially like the one involving the race car driver. I felt terrible for Magnolia though since she kept her life hidden from her family and really could not date anyone while she was being a what she called herself a "sports geisha". Now I have to wonder what happened next to Magnolia since the ending left me hanging. There was so much more that needed to be answered, but I can tell Carolina did it on purpose. I just hope Magnolia got her happily ever after eventually. She did deserve it.
If you like reading chick lit, you'll definitely enjoy this book by Carolina Garcia-Aguilera.

Excuse me while I contemplate how I'm going to get over the ending of "Embrace" and write this review. Stacey RReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
Excuse me while I contemplate how I'm going to get over the ending of "Embrace" and write this review. Stacey Rourke left me hanging again. I love cliff hangers, but the ending of "Embrace" was just mind boggling for me since I want to know who that is that made Celeste scream. Ahhh!!! The torture of waiting since I will not be able to read the third book until I am done with my other review books that I need to read. I will be finding out though....very soon!
Celeste and her siblings our back and they are still dealing with the darkness. At the ending of "The Conduit" Celeste found out some disturbing news about one her friends who she was about to pour her heart out too...instead she had to break up their friendship. Now Celeste is determined more than ever to kill who is out there to get her. She is the chosen one and she has to keep her self from being killed. Still being hunted...but now from a new enemy that is hiding in the dark. Celeste ends up quitting school, causing a ruckus at home with her siblings and even gets herself in danger several times where she has find away out without her siblings. Celeste has decided to focus on her job at the cafe and focus on her training sessions with her guide and her siblings. She never imagined a guy would come into her life so soon after Alec...and she also never imagined a second guy who appeared out of thin air, warning her about the new enemy. Now she has two guys that she cannot keep out her head...well three if you count worrying about Alec still. But can she trust the guys that meets and whatever happened to Alec. Well...Celeste will find out in "Embrace" and she will have to decide what has to do after she sees him for the first time in months. She also has to decide if she trust the guy who keeps telling her about her enemy and also trust the gang of demons who say they are sent to kill her, but cannot. Instead they want to be her ally. What is she supposed to do...she's keeping her new demon friends a secret from her brother and sister and she's also keeping another secret from them. Does she trust her new friends or trust what she's destine to do.
First off, let me just say, "Embrace" was a very hard to put down book. Every time I had to step away from the book to take care of something around the house, I would find myself itching to get back to reading "Embrace". Celeste had so many inner and outer demons to work out in this book and I felt terrible for her. There were several times I wanted to slap her brother and sister for her, for being so cold towards their sister. I also wanted to slap Celeste around sometimes too because she could not judge who was the bad guy and who was the good guy. She also tended to not think, but act too quickly. She should have told her brother and sister from the beginning on what was happening around her. So many new characters were introduced in this book and may I just say I cannot choose who I love more now...Caleb or Rowan (you'll have to find out about them by reading the book)...and I still have mixed feelings for Alec after this book. What the heck is wrong with him and WHY?!!
Stacey Rourke definitely kept me on the edge of my seat in this book and this by far is the best book...probably until I read the next one. I just loved the action in this one and of course the secrets that came out. (Mainly about Gabe...and his new love interest...LOL) Poor Celeste...had no clue.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading young adult and loves a little bit of paranormal and fantasy. You'll definitely enjoy the Garrett siblings even more in "Embrace". You'll also fall in love with some of the male characters. *sigh*
Oh...just remember...Stacey will leave you hanging at the end of the book. At least I know "Sacrifice" released on Smashwords and I can go buy it and read when I have a chance after I am done reading other books. It's going to take a miracle to hold me back from reading it though. I need to know what is going to happen next. ...more
I was looking for a short, sexy, steamy read for over the weekend and I definitely found what I was looking forReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I was looking for a short, sexy, steamy read for over the weekend and I definitely found what I was looking for in "Sneaking a Peek" by Eden Summers. The cover alone had me wanting to read it and then I read the description and I knew it was a book I needed to squeeze in before reviews for blog tours.
"Sneaking a Peek" is about a guy and a girl who have had feelings for each other since they were teens. They never hooked up though because of a certain person not wanting them to get together. Tarney Jensen had moved back to town after college and found herself moving in next door to her best friend's brother's house. She has always had a major crush on Ethan who is now a sexy firefighter. She never hooked up with him because of her best friend telling her to stay away from her big brother and her conscious telling her, she did not want to ruin a perfect friendship with Ethan. Ethan who has known Tarney since she was a teenager has always had an eye on her and just never made a move because of his little sister. He also would see men come in and out of Tarney's life and did not feel it was destined for them to be together. When Tarney moves in next door, he never realized one night of him working out would bring Tarney into his arms due to her having a fall where he needs to help her. Of course he finds out that the little minx has actually been spying on him while he works out. He is trying to fight his attraction for Tarney when he's taking care of her after her fall, but he is kind of hard to keep feelings at bay for so long.
Eden Summers is now a auto-buy Author for me. I absolutely LOVED "Sneaking a Peek". Thanks to the show "Chicago Fire", I have been wanting to read a great sexy firefighter story and this definitely quenched my thirst for awhile with Ethan being a sexy firefighter. *sigh* =) After reading "Sneaking a Peek", I really needed a cold drink and a cold shower. This definitely had some steamy scenes to it between Ethan and Tarney. Oh boy!!! I love stories that have friends come together as well and this definitely was a relationship that was long overdue. You could tell by reading that both of these characters were in love from the beginning with each other and when they finally hooked up, it was like a volcano exploding between them both. If you are looking for a short, steamy read this is a definite must-read for anyone. Be ready for some moments where you will need to be hosed down and be prepared to laugh as well because Eden Summers definitely puts some humor between the characters as well. I even teared up towards the end on what Tarney thought Ethan did after they made love the first time. I recommend this book to anyone who loves erotica and wants a quick read before bed time...just be warned, you may need to cool off afterwards. (Warning do not read this book while you have kids around, like I did. I think I snapped at my oldest every time she tried to interrupt me while reading "Sneaking a Peek". I made it up to her when we later on watched movies on Netflix together and had ice cream cake. LOL)

3.5 stars "A Wicked Awakening" is about Cherie, who has everything she ever wanted, but she is not able to stick up for herself at her job between her boss and two women who seriously think they can walk all over Cherie. Cherie is forced to a take a job due to those two women who said they had other plans and now she has to tell her boyfriend, Cam, that they can not make their romantic getaway until later on. He is not very happy about it of course and wishes Cherie would just give the girls and her boss a piece of her mind. Not only is she dealing with stuff at her job, but she's dealing with a crazy old woman who keeps talking nonsense to her wherever she goes and she keeps having dreams of a sexy mysterious guy that she came across at a dance floor when she was with her best friend. She is starting to doubt her life and if she is meant to be with her boyfriend...because she should not be having feelings for the mysterious guy. She has to find out the truth and what the old woman keeps telling her. She even has her two cats that she understands telling her she's special. "A Wicked Awakening" is a very steamy paranormal romance book that introduces you into Cherie's life very well. You will become attached to her and what is happening to her. The Author even throws in the boyfriend, Cam's, POV. We get to feel what he is feeling about Cherie and what he thinks about her situation. There is so much that Cherie needs to learn about herself and she is starting to realize that maybe there is something different about her from others. This is a great start to the Wicked Series and I definitely felt connected to both Cam and Cherie, but I want to learn more about the mystery guy. If you read the short story before this book, you'll know why I'm curious about the sexy, mysterious guy. He's way of talking and the way he is period...definitely has me knowing who is supposed to be. Calinda B. throws in not only Cherie's dilemma with the job she has to do for her boss, but she throws in something that has been bothering the character since she was younger. It takes one incident to show demons again in Cherie's life that she never knew about until now. I definitely want to read the 2nd book in the series when I have some free time. I want to learn more about these Galaxy Dancers and their stories on Earth. I recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance and are fans of Calinda B. "A Wicked Choice" is a very short story that tells readers about the Galaxy Dancers and how they came to Earth in the first place. I definitely recommend anyone who wants to read the series, to read this short story first. I am glad I did. It is a very short read and if you are like me, you will probably want more afterwards, which I'm glad I had the first book in the series as well. This book just didn't quench my thirst of the series, but it does explain a lot. I was able to decipher who was the characters in the next book from this short story. I really liked how Calinda made the short story to be sexy and funny at the same time. The writing style was kind of confusing, but maybe because it had a science fiction kind of style to it. I liked it though, but it took me reading over certain parts a couple of times, to understand it fully. Like I stated before, if you want to read this series than read this short story first...or if you have read the first 3 books than this book will explain on why the Galaxy Dancers are on Earth. Claudy Conn has done it again...she sucked me in another Regency Historical Romance and made me fall in love with the characters and their world. Lord Wainwright is now going on my list of FAVE sexy, male characters that I would to marry...Oops...do not tell my hubby. =) Chelsea is wanting to make her mark in the world and find the man who will sweep her off her feet, just like her friends keep talking about. She's about to turn 19 and she wants to meet the one person who will make her happy for the rest of her life. Unfortunately, she's dealing with Aunt drama who has not even been there for her since she received guardianship of Chelsea. She just wants Chelsea because of the trust money she has. Chelsea runs to her Godmother's house to be around someone who really adores and loves her for who she is. Daisy, her godmother, wants to find a perfect suitor for Chelsea and enrolls her nephews help to get Chelsea out there in front of the eligible bachelors eyes. Lord Wainwright does not want to watch over a child, at least that is what he thinks of her when he first sees her, until Chelsea has a make over and now Lord Wainwright cannot keep his eyes off of her. He knows it is wrong to have feelings for Chelsea, but he cannot help himself. There is something about the beautiful Chelsea that has him in a bind. Augusta, Chelsea's Aunt, who is nothing, but a vindictive woman is even more angry with Chelsea since Chelsea seems to be stealing away Augusta's handsome rogue. Now Augusta wants Chelsea out of the way and she has recruited her brother to help her sweep Chelsea away from the man she has had her eyes on for awhile...and her brother is ruthless enough to do anything to have Chelsea for himself since money is involved and his greedy for more. Chelsea is about to be thrown in a world she has to become adult quick and she finds herself in love with a man who may belong to another and a world where men will do anything to have her because of how much she is worth.
Seriously...I love Claudy Conn's regency romances. She has me fall in love with the rogue every time and she also has me loving the female characters as well. Even the secondary characters are ones that I fell in love with. Not only is Chelsea having her moment of love...but so is her Godmother, Daisy, which is definitely a match made in heaven. Daisy deserved a happily ever after as well for everything she had gone through. The villains in the story are ruthless and it seems it is a family trait. They will do anything to get what they want. Claudy Conn definitely knows how to transport you back in time where men tried everything to sweep a woman off their feet so they can marry them. I will say this, Lord Wainwright can sweep me off my feet anytime. I'm jealous over Chelsea. The steamy scenes between the characters will require you taking a cold shower afterwards though, so be prepared ahead of time.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading historical romances, is a fan of Claudy Conn, and loves to fall in love with a rogue who becomes tamed because of one beautiful young lady who changes his ways. Claudy Conn even gives you a sneak into other stories that she has written after you read, "Runaway Heart", which will make you want more anyways. I know I cannot get enough of Claudy's books. =) ...more
When a book involves Angels and Demons...I am always up to reading it and I am glad I found "Death is a Bitch"Review also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
When a book involves Angels and Demons...I am always up to reading it and I am glad I found "Death is a Bitch" through FMB Blog Tours. I also have found another Author, who sucked me into the story from the beginning to the very end.
"Death is a Bitch" is about Death, who is an Angel, who collects everyones souls once they are about to pass away. She has a very tiring job and sometimes it is hard to really find some down time. Azrael, who is another Angel, that works closely to Death sometimes, has never really fell in love before until he gets one night of passion with Death that makes him crave her even more. Death even starts having feelings for the sexy, Azrael, that she is having a hard time forgetting him as well. All of a sudden, Death is dealing with her past again with one soul that escapes Tatarus, thanks to the demon, Damian, who has an hidden agenda with helping King Sisyphus. Damian has always had it bad for Death, and to prevent her happiness with Azrael, he will do anything to get Death to himself...even lie to Azrael.
"Death is a Bitch" is a very entertaining book about Heaven and Hell and how it is never a good thing to mess with Death because she always gets her justice in the end. It may take her awhile, but when she does...there is no looking back. It also helps when she has strong parents who have connections themselves to help her out. Azrael is one sexy Angel who definitely captured my interest the minute he was described. He did piss me off during a part of the book. He believed a lie about Death and he should have known better.
Cate Masters definitely has a fan now after reading this book and I plan reading more of her books real soon. I loved her writing style and I definitely loved her take on Angels and Demons.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves the paranormal romance genre and loves reading about Angels and Demons. You'll definitely enjoy this take on the "Grim Reaper", who is Death, and her sexy love interest, Azrael. You'll probably even like the bad guy as well, Damian. I did feel kind of sorry for him...just a little bit. In the end though, he got what he deserved.

"The Monster Within" is the first book from Lola Rayne and after reading it, I'm ready for the second book already. Nicole Jone's for years has been having a great life, trying to forget about her past, until one day, she gets a call from her worst nightmare. Someone she thought was dead is now out to get here. She's all upset about it...and when she tries to go home the same day, she ends up passing out in front of a stranger, she thought could be the person who wants her. Instead, it is just someone she bumped into by accident and he was following her to make she was not in danger and to keep an eye on her. Gideon, never thought he would run into his beautiful woman and follow her. When she passes out in front of him, she knows something is wrong with her, so he takes her home to keep her safe. Gideon is not your normal person though because inside of him, is a monster that wants to claim Nicole as his and keep her safe with him. He knows that Nicole is his mate and his other self recognized her from the beginning when he followed her. He is determine find out what made Nicole all upset that day she passed out in front him and he will do anything to protect her. What Gideon does not realize though is, he will have to protect himself as well, when it comes to Nicole's past coming back to haunt her. My thoughts on "Monster Within" was it was a really great start to Lola Rayne's Mounting Darkness Series. The characters she created had great chemistry and I was able to click with them very well. Nicole kicked butt and Gideon kind of scared the crap out of me when I found out what he really was and what he was made to do. There was some very steamy, erotic moments between Nicole and Gideon in the book, so be prepared to maybe take a cold shower afterwards. (Yes...Lola wrote some sexy, steamy scenes) It was a short novella and only had touched a little bit and I felt it could have been more...but in the end I was really happy with what happened. Lola did leave me hanging at the end. I definitely want to know what will happen next, especially since Nicole and Gideon found out something else that I'm really curious about. I recommend this book to paranormal romance readers out there and for readers who loves reading short novellas. "The Monster Within" definitely was a great start to one amazing, sexy, paranormal romance series. Currently the book is only $0.99 at Amazon. =) ...more
Sara Humphreys is one Author who I adore very much. She knows how to write a great shifter story that sinks meReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
Sara Humphreys is one Author who I adore very much. She knows how to write a great shifter story that sinks me in from the beginning. When I found out she was writing a short novella for her Amoveo Legend Series, I think I squealed like my daughter does when it's Christmas morning. A short novella that captures my heart until "Untamed" releases...sign me up to buy. Actually...for everyone who is a fan of Sara Humphreys, or are readers out there that are thinking about reading Sara's books, Undenied when it releases October 2nd, will be FREE. =)
This short novella, which is only 43 pages long as per my iPad....can be read within a hour or less (of course without interruptions, which I made sure nothing interrupted me...That included two girls and one hubby, who were sleeping when I read Undenied.)
"Undenied" is about Boris Zankoff and how his mate comes into his life unexpectedly. He has been dreaming about her for awhile now and he knows she's fully human. Of course with the dilemma going on with certain shapeshifters wanting only pure bred shapeshifters matching only with full blooded shapeshifters, Boris has a problem on his hands. He must protect his mate no matter what. Boris never though, his mate, Lillian would show up on at his business's doorstep one day, asking for his help...it was a dream come true for him and of course for Lilian as well, since she has been a gypsy for the longest time and has never really had a family to love her.
I'm happy that Boris finally gets his happily ever after in this short novella because of what happened in the last book, Untouched. I definitely clicked with Lilian. The poor girl had gone through so much and she just wanted to find her place in the world and her family did not seem to agree on what she wanted to do with her life. Boris and Lilian are a definitely perfect match and I hope we get a little taste of them more in future books.
This short novella will give you a small taste of the Amoveo Legend books and Sara definitely delivers another book that had me entranced from the beginning. I'm looking forward to her next book, Untamed that comes out next month. =) If you want a quick, sexy read definitely get a copy of Undenied. =)...more
Excuse me while I let readers know before hand if you are looking for a Happily Ever After....then proceed no fReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
Excuse me while I let readers know before hand if you are looking for a Happily Ever After....then proceed no further because this is one book that will make your emotions go crazy and want you to kick some characters butts! I'm not joking...but if you don't mind that not all books have a HEA...then you will definitely need a day or two to read this book because believe me you will not want to put it down. I am in shock while typing up this review and finding the words I want to put into my review without giving too much away.
I have never hated characters like I have in this book....especially the female character who I wanted to go through the book and tell her how naive and stupid she was being. How could she not see through Jack's facade? I could also beat his butt for doing the things he was doing to her...but then he would throw me off course and throw in sweet words and make me love him again.... Let's just say...K.A. Linde is now an auto-buy Author for me since her books make me want to throw myself in the books and beat some serious butt, while also be jealous over certain things the characters did. Here is my list of reasons why I loved this book: 1. I have never had a book that made me literally punch at my Kindle. (or actually swing it around with frustration) 2. K.A. Linde has a different writing style that definitely had me up all night trying to finish this book even when fighting a stomach bug. 3. I actually could feel the emotions of the female character and what she was going through...and sometimes I felt sorry, while others I wanted to knock some sense into her. 4. I actually loved a secondary character more than the primary characters...Chyna...Alexa's best friend. 5. I had no idea what was going down with Alexa, Jack, Bekah, or Ramsey...until almost the end, when something clicked. 6. Did I already say, how I hated and loved the characters in this book.
Some people may say I'm crazy for loving this book for my reasons above....but once you read the book you will understand why I typed up my list like I did.
I do not feel sorry for what happened in this book. I feel that Alexa, the main character put herself in the predicaments she went through with Jack. Here's a little background without giving too much away. Alexa has been in love with Jack since college. The moment she saw him in the coffee shop where he worked, to the moment he asked her out...then that's when all hell broke loose and Jack lied to her. The lies became too much of the truth....but then that truth...were actually little lies....hopefully that makes sense...because it is confusing at first until you figure it out on what is happening. Alexa is forced to go to GA, to convince Jack's new girlfriend that Jack is finally able to commit since he has never committed in a relationship before....but in the long run Alexa is forced to have those feelings for Jack she thought she closed off awhile ago, when he broke her heart several times. They were really never together, but Bekah found out from previous relationship that Alexa may have been the reason Jack never committed.
Just be prepared for twists and turns, some very steamy moments between the characters, some very deceitful moments, and also crazy, heated arguments that turned into making you even more confused. I don't really know how to describe this book in a few words as you can tell from above....but this book definitely is a must read for anyone who loves a book that makes them go crazy over what is happening between the characters. I am actually mad right now because I have to hold off for a bit before I read the next book because of other books I need to read first....but when I do get a chance to read it....my hubby will have to hold down the fort. I want to know if eventually the characters I care about actually get a HEA because what I have read in this book....even though Alexa was naive in this book...I truly hope she finds the right man to be with to make her happy.

I was provided a courtesy copy of “Kissed by a Vampire” from the author in exchange for an honest review. First, off, let me apologize, ahead of time since I wanted this review out sooner since I was provided an advance reading copy, but due to not being around any WiFi services I was not able to. =( My Mom lives out in the country and does not have Internet and that is where I’m currently visiting, so I’m at Starbucks to make sure my review goes live today. (And that is near University of Illinois) (Needless to say, I’m having withdrawals not being able to get on the Internet) “Kissed by a Vampire” is about Stacia and Alex Garcia. Stacia is an elder vampire and she is now in Miami to get away from her former life in New York. She ends up meeting up with someone she never thought she would see again, Alex Garcia. A DEA Agent who she helped saves from death. Stacia has always been alone for years and never though she would fall in love with again, especially someone who is human. Alex Garcia has had nightmares since he’s near death experience and he has always had dreams about the beautiful Stacia. He never thought he would see her again in person. He thought, maybe he dreamt his experience with her. He cannot help, but be intrigued by her, but he has no idea that vampires exist. Alex is going undercover at a club that girls are disappearing at because one of his friends has asked him to find his daughter, Andrea that went missing. That is when Alex comes across Stacia. It is up to Alex to undercover the missing girls and Stacia never thought she would help him find them. Stacia is trying everything not to see Alex, but he has a pull on her and she’ll find herself not being able to resist the handsome Latino, who she vampire kissed him years ago. “Kissed by a Vampire” is a book that is full of romance, mystery, and action that will keep you turning the pages. I loved the characters in the books and it has me wanting to read the previous books before this one, to find out what happened to the former lovers of Stacia and Alex. They came together for a reason though, and they are perfect for each other. Alex needed someone in his life so he can forget about his former love and Stacia needed someone to get over her life of being alone and her bad experiences of what happened when she turned an vampire hundreds of years ago. I’ve read other books from Caridad before and I love her writing style and how she has me fall in love with the characters of the story. She even has me loving the action and mystery of the story. I recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance, vampires, mystery, and action to their books. You’ll definitely want to read the first books to the series first…which I plan to in the near future. =) Looking forward to Caridad’s next book. =) ...more

4.5 stars I was provided a courtesy copy of “Of Blood and Bone” for the blog tour in exchange for an honest review. Can I just say that I loved this story, from the very beginning? I knew it was going to be different, just by reading the description of the book and that is why I chose to be apart of the blog tour. I enjoy a book that has paranormal to it and mystery/suspense as well. Courtney Cole had me keep reading since page one due to the fact, the book setting being in Malta, which I had the chance to visit back in 2003 when I was in the Navy. It was one beautiful country that I recommend anyone visit. Just a warning though, it is very expensive there, but it is well worth. My husband and I had our first dates there in Malta, horseback riding. =)
“Of Blood and Bone” is a story of Luca Minaldi who has been suffering with a curse since he was 5 years old. He would black out and not remember what he did once he blacked out. All he knew was having blood on his hands and knowing he did something that was awful in his town, due to the fact girls end up coming up dead. Dr. Eva Talbot who is visiting in Malta for her school to write up how people act in Malta was only there for a short time. She ends up falling for the handsome, mysterious, Luca. She is warned that Luca only keeps to himself in town, and only visits for meetings, since he has a business he needs to keep control of with his brothers. Luca ends up falling for the beautiful red-headed doctor and he knows he should stay away from her, but he’s having a hard time.
Eva ends up having to help Luca with his Mom since she is been having episodes of dementia and she’s been trying to hurt herself. Eva is not a practiced doctor in Malta, but she said, she could look after Luca’s Mom. Luca’s Mom, warns her about Luca, being a monster, but does not believe her, until one night in Luca’s home, she gets the chance to see the other side of Luca. Now, Eva must help Luca and find out what is actually wrong with him. When she finds out the truth, it may be too late to save him and the one person Luca has always trusted has been lying to Luca and is up to Eva to save Luca from himself and his close friend. I absolutely LOVED this story. It definitely is a different story to the paranormal. It had a mystery that I could not even figure out until Eva found out the truth. I loved Eva and Luca. They both stole my heart the minute they were introduced. Luca with his mysterious, sexiness and Eva with her beauty and caring towards Luca, even when she first met him. She is one strong-willed female character, until Luca comes around. He brings another side to her and she does the same thing to him as well. This book had my emotions going haywire, especially what happened to Eva during one part of the book between her and Luca. I was so upset for her. I definitely plan on reading the next book after this one since it had a cliffhanger at the end. =) I definitely plan on reading more books from Courtney as well. I loved her writing style and how she kept me intrigued from page one. Can I also say, that this book makes me want to visit Malta again? I'm so glad I signed up for this Blog Tour because I would have never heard about this book or Courtney Cole. Now she has a fan for life. I recommend this book to paranormal romance readers out there. Be prepared for a shock moment when you find out who is behind what is actually happening. You'll love the action, mystery, and paranormal to this book...that you'll want more right after you're done reading it. Countdown has begun to the second book. =) ...more
"Hainted" is my first actual M/M paranormal book to ever read and it definitely won't be my last from this genreReview also posted on Book Lovin Mamas
"Hainted" is my first actual M/M paranormal book to ever read and it definitely won't be my last from this genre. I also will be reading more books from Jordan L. Hawk since I love her writing style and the male heroes she creates into her books. Dan has given up everything to come back home from college to take care of his brother and sister since his mother had passed away from doing what she did best and that was haint-working. His father didn't want to help take care of his brother and sister and eventually passed away as well. Now it has been Dan and his two siblings for awhile now, trying to make ends meet with their farm in North Carolina. When a handsome stranger in a Porsche pulls up to their house looking for Dan's mother, Dan has to decide if he wants to get back to what his Mom taught him a long time ago. Because Leif, the stranger who Dan is feeling attracted to has a HUGE problem which involves a powerful necromancer who is after him and after what is in Dan's town. It is up to Dan and Leif to find the evil necromancer before something happens to the people in the town.
The book synopsis above gives a great explanation what to expect about the book and it definitely persuaded me to read it and that is why I am glad I decided to be apart of the blog tour. It took me a few days to read "Hainted" but that is because I had other things that took precedence over reading. After reading "Hainted", I definitely want to read more from the M/M paranormal genre and also find out more about the author, Jordan L. Hawk. I fell in love with both male characters. I always adore reading about opposites attracting and Dan and Leif are definitely opposites. Here it is, Dan is a farm boy and Leif is a goth, but they both were meant to meet each other. Dan needed Leif and vice versa. They both completed each other. Dan made me mad though since he kept his sexual status hidden from everyone in town. He had a old girlfriend try everything that just would not get the hint that he was not interested and he led her along, until of course something happened and she got hurt in the process. (Although, the girl drove me crazy as well...especially what she did after she found out) Poor Dan. =( Leif, was hiding something Dan and his family as well, and he made me mad when he went into town because he could not stop thinking about Dan at first and he found out about the girl. They should have talked it out. Dan's brother Virgil also pinched my nerve just a bit. He was your typical teenage boy though and just did not know how to handle Dan being his guardian and what Dan kept hidden. The storyline of "Hainted" flowed really well and I definitely enjoyed it. If your a fan of the M/M paranormal genre, you will definitely want to check out "Hainted". Jordan L. Hawk will have you fall in love with the characters. Be warned though, they're moments you will need tissues. I know I did towards the end. ...more
Seriously...I was left hanging at the end of this book and now I have to wait for the final book in the trilogyReview also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
Seriously...I was left hanging at the end of this book and now I have to wait for the final book in the trilogy to find out what happened. (cue in screaming) I love Kristen Day's Daughters of the Sea Novels. I am in love with her characters that she created and I secretly wish Finn was REAL.
In "Awaken", Anastasia aka Stasia, is supposed to travel to the Underworld before her 18th birthday to make a trip to a river that will help her become an immortal when she does turns 18. She must prepare for this trip ahead of time and her roommates/best friends help, as well as her boyfriend, Finn, she should be able to conquer it. Instead she's having to face some truths that are about to come out that may break her heart before she goes. She learns to be able to go to the Underworld, she needs to know exactly when to go. It's kind of hard when she does not know her true birthday. She will have to learn how to control her reverie's to find out her birthday and find out the truth of what is actually going to happen. Stasia is going to deal with one crazy Princess and her Mother who is the Queen of the Underworld who actually has to let her pass into the Underworld. She also has to deal with other people not wanting Stasia to become a true sea Goddess and intended leader to the Tykes.
Be prepared to go through some heartache in "Awaken" because Kristen Day definitely place some bombshells in this book that made me love/hate some characters and certain situations. (One being Finn, but only for a little while)
Stasia definitely grew even more in this book and is definitely ready to take the place of the Leader of the Tykes. If she can handle what she handled in this book, she definitely can take on anything. She's going to have to since there was a cliff hanger in "Awaken". The secondary characters, I loved as well....especially Ricker and Carmen. They sound like a old married couple who just will not admit they like each other. I love how Stasia's friends were there for her, especially towards the end.
I definitely was not prepared for what happened in this book. I loved Forsaken, and now I love Awaken. I was not expecting to love it as much as Forsaken, but Kristen Day definitely proved me wrong. Her Daughters of the Sea has become one of my FAVE Young Adult books this year and I'm anxiously waiting for the finale, Chosen. If there is one thing I love about Kristen Day is how she can make my emotions go haywire when reading. I about through my iPad across the room when Stasia got the biggest bombshell in her life from that wicked Princess Nadia. (Poor Stasia)
If your a fan of the young adult genre and love paranormal and mythology, you will definitely love this trilogy from Kristen Day. The last book in the trilogy comes out real soon and I'm definitely counting down to it. Thanks to YANR Blog Tours for introducing Kristen Day and her fabulous books to me. I received a complimentary copy of "Forsaken: A Daughter of the sea Novel" in an exchange for a honest review for the Blog Tour with YANR. Every once in awhile I find myself diving into a book that takes me away from the paranormal romance genre or erotica genre. There is just some days I need a break and when I read the description of "Forsaken", I knew it was a book I was going to enjoy reading. These are the kind of books, I would dive into as a pre-teen or teen to get away from the drama of homework. (Yes I said drama...because homework was crazy and still is today) Forsaken is about a girl, Hannah, who was orphaned as a infant and forced to go through several foster families until one family finally adopted her. Hannah has never felt like she belonged into the high society of her adopted family and certain events have started to happen to her lately. Her adopted-mother is making her see several doctors to find out why Hannah is having black outs and acting strange. She even swears that this one guy in her nightmares keeps re-appearing and warning her about certain things. One day though, she is forced to see a doctor that may know what is going on with Hannah. Hannah then is told to go away to a boarding school which she will fit in at more comfortably. When Hannah is sent to The House of Lorelei, she never fathomed that the guy in her nightmares was actually real and he saves her on the first day at the House of Lorelei. She also never believed that her nightmares were actually coming true. While Hannah is there, she starts to realize that the House Of Lorelei is very special and so are the people who go there, including her. Hannah is about to find out what happened to her real parents and what actually is going on with her. With the help of her new friends, and the guy in her nightmares, she will learn the truth of what she is supposed to do from now on. She will also have to survive because in one of her nightmares she knows someone is out to get her. My thoughts on Forsaken is that it was a very enjoyable read. I had a hard time putting it down. Well...it did only take me one day to read, that alone should tell you some thing. =) I have always been a fan of mythology and this book definitely dived into it a bit with several twists. Kristen Day explains what is going on very well and the story of what happened to Hannah and her parents. I love her take on the sea gods and goddesses and the differences of each of the students and where they fell underneath. This book is full of mystery, love, and action that will make you want more after reading it. Kristen Day's writing is fabulous and I cannot wait to see what happens next with the characters. I mean she did leave me hanging at the end, which was a doozy. When is the 2nd book coming out? My favorite scene is when Hannah goes to the dance. (sorry not giving it away) Let's just say, I was really happy for her. =) (I was even pondering what was special with her date, Finn) I recommend this book to anyone who loves the young adult genre and loves mythology. This is a definite read you will enjoy. Thanks to YANR for introducing this book and Kristen Day to me. =) ...more
I'm beginning to wonder if Gabrielle Bisset loves to make people cry...because this book definitely was aBook Review also posted on Book Lovin' Mamas
I'm beginning to wonder if Gabrielle Bisset loves to make people cry...because this book definitely was a tear jerker. Oh boy...was the water works happening when I was reading this book. Terek, is one of the Sons of Navarus, and he is one vampire who definitely takes his siring very seriously. He has sired over thousands of new vampires. Some of the vampires live under one of his households that he frequently visits. One night, he comes across another vampire biting a human and then he witnesses the vampire being staked by a hunter. The girl who was bitten is left for dead and it is up to Terek to save her, so he takes her back and sires her instead. She is not a typical woman though. Ilona, was just leaving from a party when she ends up getting herself into a dilemma. Now, she's a vampire and is forced to feed from Terek. She does not want to cooperate at all. She's not taking to the whole entire vampire thing all too well. She just wants to die. Terek of course, has never given up on any of his vampires he has sired and he will not give up on her. He has his other female vampires who are helping him with her while he helps out with the other Sons of Navarus. The Archon, who are hunting the Sons of Navarus are now going after vampires they think are the Sons of Navarus and they also are attacking the vampires the brothers have sired. It's up to the Sons of Navarus to find out what the prophecy really means for the Order (no spoiler...sorry...not giving away anything...If you want to find out more, you need to read this book).
Let me just say this, between Vasilije and what he had to ordeal in this book (the first Son of Navarus in "Blood Avenged") and Terek and what he had to go through with his vampires. I had a hard time not crying. I felt my heart hurt for both Vasilije and Terek. And don't get me started what Vasilije put Sasa through. Grrrrr!!! Can I just say...I love Thane in this book and how he stepped up to do what he did. He had every right to help out a friend in need. My favorite parts in the book were when I learned more about the background of Terek. Seriously, he is not a vampire to mess with. That man can kill you in an instant. Do not mess with his family! He has gone through so much, I do not know how he handled it so well. He did finally have Ilona to help him through some of it. She is definitely perfect for him. Ilona was a little difficult at first, until she finally gave in to Terek. (Ummm...who can resist him though?...I wouldn't be able to)
Gabrielle does an amazing job on putting a reader through so many emotions at once. She definitely is one amazing writer and she definitely has a fan for life. I look forward to reading the rest of the Sons Navarus books. I'm telling you now, if you haven't read these books, you really need to. If you're a fan of paranormal erotic romance, and love vampires, you will love these books. Do not forget the tissues though because you will be crying especially in this book. I give Terek's book 5 moons...and he definitely gets a little piece of my heart, but Saint has my full heart still...until maybe Thane or Dante's book. (Those two...I need to know more about) =) ...more

"Caged" is the first book in the Caged series by Amber Lynn Natusch, and it definitely helped introduce the main character and her dilemma very well. Ruby has been through a lot. After losing her parents one horrible night, she's trying to adapt well on her own. That horrible night also helped her gain her eye sight. She was blind for so many years, that she never even knew what her parents looked like. She's been having moments where she blacks out when she panics or is stressed out after since that night her parents were killed...but she has no idea what happens during the time she blacks out. She ends up meeting up with Sean, who she thinks is stalking her because he is always there. She also meets, Erik, who she is fascinated with the minute she sees him. But...both guys have their own agendas on why they want Ruby. Ruby ends up choosing between the two and ends up choosing the wrong one....now she is stuck in a jam...but in the mean time, she finds out exactly what is happening during the black outs. At first though, she does not believe it. She has to see the aftermath of the black outs to really understand what she truly is and why certain kind of people want her. She also has to witness something that someone does in front her to believe that it is really true. My thoughts on the first book to the Caged series was that it was a very enjoyable read. I loved how the author introduced the characters in the beginning and what happened to Ruby in the beginning. I was lost a little at first, but then I was able to follow the story more once I understood what happened to Ruby thoroughly later on in the book. This is definitely a good book for the first to the series and it explains what Ruby actually is very well. The only thing that bothered me was the main character sometimes. I really did not click with her well. Maybe the way she always was getting frustrated and yelling at the other characters and maybe the way she talked period. ( I did like the fact that the way for her to relieve stress was to dance and that is definitely a great stress reliever ) One of my favorite parts were when Ruby, Sean, and Ruby's friend Ronnie were at a store (which is actually the excerpt in the guest post/giveaway post above). Ronnie played a short role, but she definitely put Ruby in her place. Sean was my favorite character in the story because of the way he was always there for Ruby. Even when I found out what he really was, I still loved him because I knew in the end, he really loved being around Ruby. Be prepared if you do read it, to have a lot of bad guys in the story. The ending was a doozy for me. I did not like that one chick that was introduced. I felt terrible for Ruby. (sorry won't give away..no spoilers here) I recommend this urban fantasy and paranormal romance readers out there who enjoys a book that keeps you guessing on what is going to happen next to the main character. (The poor girl went through so much...I do not know how she handled it so well. Although, she did have something that no other person had that helped her.) I plan on reading the 2nd book whenever I get the chance because I do want to find out if certain characters will hook up in the end. =) ...more
