The action and the humor completely made this book for me. I think Ty is one of the funniest characters I've ever read. He certainly keeps Zane on his toes. The slow-burn of an intimate connection between these two men set my Kindle on fire. I was one hundred percent rooting for them to fall in love and make it work. Beware, this book has some emotional pull to it. I am honestly looking forward to reading the rest of the series, all other 8 books are sitting on my Kindle waiting for me, I can't wait!...more

To get this out of the way first, the author's writing is outstanding, that I really enjoyed. I think it was more of the story line that made be sit back and think on it before I sat down to write a review. Xavier is a hard man to hate but an even harder man to love, now I know that probably makes no sense so I will explain it. His love for his sister is completely heartwarming, he wants nothing but the best for her. But he wants justice for her past to come at his hands. Having rage and vengeance leading him will cause nothing but trouble. Working behind his sisters back and going undercover he meets Carson, a straight man who lets his glances linger longer than they should for a man not interested in sex with another man. Now this is where I come into the hard time loving Xavier. Kidnapping Carson to find out what he knows is understandable but the sex is very much on the edge on non-consensual to me, NOT that he raped Carson (that is not what I am saying). I felt he talked Carson into more than what he was ready for but what he did opened Carson's eyes to what he really wanted in life. His feelings that he was told were wrong for so long now didn't seem to be as wrong as his parents made him think. What I will stop with is "Love is Love, sometimes it takes people longer to get there than others" and not all methods to open someone's eyes will work on everyone, but Xavier did what was right for him and Carson both. I will go back and read book one just to get more of what made Xavier the way he is. This is an ADULT book, if you can't handle Male on Male action then don't bother picking it up. Would I recommend this book to a friend- Hell Yeah, just because I want someone to talk to about the relationship between Xavier & Carson!...more

Not only do we4.5 Stars I can honestly say I liked this book more than The Backup Boyfriend (#1) and that says a lot because I really liked book one. Not only do we find out why Tyler is so closed off with his emotions we actually get to see him come out of his self-imposed shell. Having your heart broken at a young age on top of having your first boyfriend leave you without a word set Tyler up to be an emotionless man who his friends call Iceman. When the love of his life shows up and Tyler has no choice but to deal with him one on one, the truth finally comes out. Memphis never wanted to hurt Tyler but knowing everything Tyler had already been through, he didn't want to add more onto Tyler's fragile shoulders. When the truth comes out Tyler realizes that what he had and what he could have is everything he ever wanted, and that just happens to be Memphis. I adored Memphis, his humor and quick wit with his comebacks..fantastic!...more

Being in a small town, lives like hers are what the town gossips love. She married right out of graduate school only to divorce years later when her husband came out of the closet. Anabelle has never had wild, dirty sex with a man but she has definitely had fantasies about doing it with Derek, a hot young furniture builder that she works with. Anabelle has two problems now, her mother is trying to set her up on blind dates and Derek is younger than her. The first one she can deal with but she has a major hang up on the second one. Can she get past her hang ups, her interfering Mother and only worry about what she wants? I'm not saying this was a bad story with my rating, but I am adding my own personal opinion in with the rating and I will explain why. Her whole hang up on his age, I didn't get it because he was only maybe four years younger than her. To be honest I don't even know if his actual age was ever told in the book, I know at one point she guessed his round about age. Then Anabelle and Derek talked about a time frame on the sex tutoring and he says one month is not long enough, she never said a month so I am not sure where that came from. What I did like was how determined he was to prove to her that he loved her, for her and not her age. I did enjoy the building of the love relationship between the two main characters plus the eye opening the mother finally had about how she treated her daughter most of her life....more

I liked this book more than book one due to Mitch, who we met in book one, Double Full. He is so funny but so absolutely lovable. Mitch is a U.S. Deputy Marshal that goes where the job needs him. While in Dallas with his friends Colt and Jace they all go out to a popular gay bar to blow off steam. Mitch spots a hot man sitting by himself drinking. Cody, a Texas State Trooper, is in town visiting also and decides to hit the bar scene for the night. Cody does not hide that he is gay but he is not nearly as open about it as Mitch is. When Mitch drags him onto the dance floor, they click. Things heat up quickly on the dance floor so they decide to take it outside to continue their make out session. But the job calls and Mitch has to leave Cody in Dallas. The all important case that Mitch has been working on is now in the hands of the FBI and they need his help. Being in Washington DC does not stop Mitch from thinking about Cody though. Cody is scared of the experienced man that Mitch is but he still wants anything Mitch can give him. Mitch thinks he is a hit it and leave it kind of guy until he meets Cody. When trouble comes knocking to close to home, Mitch knows he will do anything to keep Cody safe and in his life forever.

Magic – By Siobhan Muir For Lily Sinclair, Christmas means sorrow and loss since the death of her twin brother. The magic is gone and she only wants to see her brother one more time. As an Ice Demon Zachary Snow is used to rescuing people in winter, but he’d never rescued anyone like Lily. Now he must convince her the magic she wants is in life itself.
REVIEW- Missing her dead twin brother Lucas, Lily thinks that doing any extreme activity will bring her closer to the magic they shared. Winning a trip to Crescent Moon Lodge gives Lily the opportunity to go out into the freezing weather on Christmas Eve and try to slowly fall asleep to be with her brother again. Almost freezing to death she sees and talks to Lucas who tells her what she is doing is not the way to be happy and she needs to find the magic again. Telling her that life will get better if she just tries to open her heart the magic will find her. Zach Snow, an Ice Demon, who lives and works at the Crescent Moon Lodge is sent out to find Lily. Once he finds her close to death he takes her to his cabin just as an avalanche hits the mountain. Sparks fly quickly between the two of them. Lily realizes that she has found the magic she has been searching for in Zach and he realizes that she is the magic that he never knew he was missing. My Rating: 4
A Howling Yuletide –By Shannan Albright Fleur Delecourt knew her Christmas holiday was doomed from the start. Not only did she hate the cold and snow, but also she found herself saddled with a ski instructor, courtesy of a friend’s twisted sense of humor. Werewolf Rory Furr left Scotland to find a life and pack of his own. What he was not prepared for was finding his mate in the form of a petite redhead who tests both his self-control and patience.
REVIEW- Fleur hates the cold, and is not really happy with her friend Lily right now. One of the four women who won the trip to the Crescent Moon Lodge for the holidays, Fleur is going to make the most out of her trip, even if it means getting out for her full day of ski lessons with the hot instructor, Rory Furr. Rory is only filling in for a friend as ski instructor, he is an alpha wolf, who has set out on his own to see the world before he settles down with a pack of his own. Running through the snowy woods he first spots the fiery redhead making her way to the lodge. After a hard day of trying to teach Fleur how to ski Rory decides it's break time, but when Fleur gets hurt, he takes her to his cabin. Spending the day talking and holding hands he doesn't notice that the moon is rising. When his wolf takes over one thing leads to another and he bites her. By biting her at that moment he mates her, something he was not intending to do. Falling in love with Rory was quick for Fleur but when he can't show the love back, she leaves him. Pulling his head out of his ass, Rory quickly realizes that he does truly love her. Getting furry together for the rest of their lives is just enough to make Fleur not hate the cold as much anymore. Loved the accent from this sexy wolf! My Rating: 4.5
