This is obviously well researched and written from her heart. she does a great job of offering insight into a man with many facets of personality and character. I enjoyed this one a great deal.(less)

This story reads as a bio/memorior and captured my heart, I will think of these characters often and the injustices of war, kings and allegiances, treatment of people and simple gifts given us each day. The history alluded to in this story, the lore and jocobite "cause" are all very interesting and absorbing. I loved this book and think it will stay with me for some time. (less)

I found it compelling and very interesting reading. The power of the supreme court and how it was changed and impacted by Roosevelt administration is amazing. The personalities, battles (personal, emotion, and legal) come together to make me appreciate even more the work of the court and how it's impact has changed over the years. (less)

Rebecca becomes a detective, girlfriend, mentor, friend, caretaker all in the time she is trying to get away from where she is now and get back to her life. A small town with a lot of characters, not a lot of depth. An enjoyable read.(less)

I got frustrated with the main character as she continues to hang on to the superficial and caste sterotypes throughout the book. Dispite all she is doing, her goal to make those closing her out see her, she only accomplishes to make them look good and save face. Money is power is a pretty prevalent theme along with the acceptance of class and standard caste distinctions. I enjoyed this one overall a quick and fun trip to the rank and priviledged youth.(less)

A bunch of snobs whose most important concern is having to stay in less than a suite in a hotel or riding in a vehicle with other "dirty" people. I thought this sounded like a fun mystery, but as it turns out it is a more of a romance, with class being the primary barrier to their togetherness. I found the main character shallow and self centered. Maybe I just could not muster the sympathy for someone who only had two million dollars to survive on. Her friend is missing and she seems more worried about her cat. The primary reason she sets out to find the "so called" friend was that there would be $10,000,000 in it for her. The relationships were as superficial as the people portraying them.
I thought this was going to be a murder mystery, the first one to die was in the last 30 pages of the book (no mystery in the death), then we racked a body count of 4 in those last pages, none of which were mysteries either. Suddenly in the last few pages, we realize the entire book comes full circle and added a new character out of nowhere to resolve questions.
I enjoyed the travel, looking into the lifestyles of the rich and self-centered. The message or information regarding the "rag" trade and sweatshops was good, but too little in the scheme of the story.

I laughed, anticipated that happenings and did not anticipate some of the events. The adults in this book were fun and caring and the summer antics of these boys took me back to a much simpler time and place. A delightful read and very fun. (less)

Maybe I relate better as the women are more mature (older), closer to my age and have lived lives that are a little flawed by full. Her southern charm comes through as you see the characters in all their true colors. This was a fun read, which I thoroughly enjoyed. (less)

The story weaves elements of the classic Alice in Wonderland tale into a completely different take on the story. It is not in any way true to the original story line and is not intended to be. There are some strong messages and enjoyable pieces of the original are included. I enjoyed it and felt like it was well worth the time.
