Okay parts: *interesting idea with werecat's beings from experiments. Nice plot with how they came about and why the military wants them. *Loved Merrie's 7 protective brothers.
Things that made me hurl: *needed way more plot/substance and less sex. *needed more from characters not just have the minimum. (less)

I loved the first two and this one was the same. Jaye Wells sure can take you on a roller coaster. Sabina and Adam have to save her twin, Maisie from her Grandmother. They gain the help of a voodoo priestess in the process. Not all is what it seems in the book and the ride is full of twists and turns that will take your breathe away. I think this is my fav. book because Sabina and Adam finally become lovers. YEA!!! I can only hope that maybe a child is in the future.
Must read series for paranormal romance lovers.
Quotes: "Fuck fate and David's fatalism. I was going to make destiny my bitch."
"Before I joined them, I cracked my neck from side to side. Breathing in a martyred sigh, I reminded my temper to behave itself. If I'd learned one thing, it was that killing people who annoyed me generally created more problems than it solved. I mentally patted myself on the back. See? Totally growing."
"Of course cher . A proper southern woman never allows a simple misunderstanding get in the way of hospitality." (less)

Recommendation : If you are a fan of the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews give this book a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. If you are unfamiliar with that series it’s okay. If you like some serious ass kicking and watching the underdog rise to the top than it’s for you. Don’t forget sexy Shifters are abundant in this book as well!
This cover screams of a women on a mission who will kick your ass if you get in her way. Well I have to say that the story did not disappoint. Kit Colbana reminded me Kate Daniels which is huge for me since the Kate Daniels series is one of my favorites. I can only hope that this means good things are in store for the next book as well.
Let’s get down to business
“My sword arm is mighty. I will not fail. My aim is true. My heart is strong. I’m the descendant of some legendary badasses…”
This is Kit’s motto and code of arms. She was raised with the understanding that she was a nobody, nothing to her family. She is a half-blood and her Maternal Grandmother, who took care of her, made sure that she understood what a disgrace to the family she was. Talk about a Cinderella story except this girl fought tooth and nail to become who she is and to be free. She did not need Prince Charming to rescue her, just determination and pure strength of human will.
Throughout the book we get to see glimpses of her childhood and it is not pretty. She was beaten on a regular basis by her Grandmother and locked up constantly. She was degraded and made to wear rags, literally. She decided to try to enter the school her mother and all Aneira’s (assassins) train from a young age. No one thought she could do it and survive, but she did. Yeah, maybe she ran away when she was 15 but who wouldn’t want to get the hell out of dodge with that crap.
Many years later she is running her own business where she tracks missing people down. The office scene had the same feel as the office scene from the first book in the Anita Blake series. But Kit wins my vote for badass any day compared to Anita, sorry it’s the truth.
Kit is in her office and SURPRISE we have a sexy man standing by the door. She can tell that he is a shifter. Her aneria blood seems to help with reading people as well as being able to assess situations that might arise. What can I say,
“We were good assassins because we could understand our marks, learn them, know them and figure out the best way to kill them.”
That shit is cool.
Mystery man decides to play with her a little.
“…his teeth flashing white against the darkness of his skin. I started thinking about the Chesire cat. Bingo. Not a wolf. A cat. Even as I thought it, I could almost see that lazy energy around him flex its claws and stretch, giving me a feline smile.”
Apparently the cat shifters “were insane and dangerous.” The mystery man has come on behalf of the Cat Pack to ask for her help with tracking down a teen shifter. The problem is that Kit couldn’t turn down this shifter because he just happens to be the Queen B’s right hand man. Oh yeah her day went from crap to shitty. In the words of Kit…
“… if I accepted a job from the cat pack, it was pretty much CYA: cover your ass.”
Accepting the job was her only option which means Kit now has a babysitter to help with this project she has to take on and thy name is Damon. The man is
“practically a visual orgasm.”
Mystery Man also has the goods to back up his Badassness. So I have to say…
Welcome Damon to Badass Hall of Fame!
Alright now that I have your attention, don’t forget to wipe the drool off your computer screen and come back to me. Okay. So now you have met our kick-ass heroine and hero. We see that this story is going to take us on a ride trying to track down a run away teen. I know it just gets better and better.
Oh did I mention that she is also being stalked by a very old vampire. Jude Whittier is someone from her past she would gladly leave behind but the man is persistent. He not only shows up in her dreams but makes several house calls. This winds up with some serious testosterone flinging between Alpha Cat and Alpha Vamp. Good Times all around!
The Journey
Kit and Damon get to make a few personal visits to the Queen B, yikes, and stop by the missing teen’s usual haunts in hopes of finding some clues. But as you can guess what they do find does not look pretty. When Kit catches a break in the case she manages to go from the hunter to the hunted. I am telling you this book kept twisting and turning.
There is plenty of humor to be found and friendships made. I loved how J.C. Daniels portrays the witch clans as well. The one they visit shares a house, a magical expanding house, and all seem to come together to support those in need.
Shifters, Vampires, and Witches abound with plenty of ass kicking for all. There is a bar scene and enough sexual tension between Kit and Damon to set the room on fire. You don’t want to miss this new series by J.C. Daniels aka Shiloh Walker.
Remember that not everything is as it seems.

I was hooked from the beginning. I had a hard time putting this book down and if it wasn't for sick children(we love our children) I would have finished it in a day.
I Loved It!
Recommend : Anyone who loves Fantasy mixed with an ex-pirate and a kick-butt main female character! It really is a must read!
Warning: You may cry, so keep tissues close. This book will take your emotions for a ride.
Alright, on with the parts that I couldn't get enough of:
* I have to say it. Galadin reminds me of Orlando Bloom. A Half Elf and an ex-pirate. It was actually really wonderful to have an excuse to daydream about him. You know you wanna do it. Let's take a look.... Add that to
This equals one Sexy Galadin!
* I loved Caliphany. I thought she was the perfect female character. She decided to take her life back. I loved that she went and trained with (view spoiler)[Galadin (hide spoiler)]. I am all about a sexy(view spoiler)[ ex-pirate and ranger (hide spoiler)] training a girl who is learning she can take control of her destiny!
* One of my favorite parts was when Caliphany and (view spoiler)[Galadin (hide spoiler)] are out in the woods and they go tumbling. The scene was perfect.I think this for me was when the tides turned. I mean I thought there was something going on, but this scene seemed touching and sweet.
* I got the funniest looks from my hubby when I read about (view spoiler)[Juliana and Malchior (hide spoiler)] dating. Really I just pictured her sweet friend hooked up with the other professor who she (view spoiler)[singed his hair off and about killed him (hide spoiler)]. Really, it just made me chuckle. Yes, I do laugh when I read and it drives my hubby crazy. What can I say it is like watching a movie for me.
* I did love Jayden Ravenwing as well. I mean the head of the kings guards, way sexy! I thought his part in the whole book was good, but a little sad. He was a better man then most and it was refreshing to read a book with a good guy against a good guy. Really, both men were winners. But one out weighed the other when it came to Cali.
* I loved the overall messages of this book. Love Conquers All and Always Follow Your Heart I don't think you can go wrong with either of these.
Wishes :
* The one wish I had was I wanted a few more cute scenes of Cali and (view spoiler)[ Galadin (hide spoiler)] falling in love at the beginning. I really enjoyed the ones that were there but I could have loved a few more.
* Okay make that two wishes. I thought this was one of the few books that could have gotten away with Sectioning off the book. I am not sure what this is called, sorry. For example: When a book is broken up in 3 parts like: Free Falling, Troubled Switch, and Destiny or True Love. I don't know it might just me. I felt the characters shift and breaking up the book, would not have hurt it. Mysti is a great author and I think she could have pulled it off.
Favorite Quotes:
"No, I would never forget him. It would be like trying not to breathe—impossible."
"Together, we held to each other, swaying gently from side to side. We danced the dance of soul mates—a conversation that said nothing and everything all at once."
She poured a potion over my head wound. It burned, and I yelped. “A little?”Lillyanne shrugged. “Sorry. Every time I say, ‘It’ll hurt like hell’s blazes’,the patients take off. It’s a righteous lie, mind ye.”
To sum it up I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it! Thank you to Mysti Parker for sending me a copy to review. It was excellent. Bravo! (less)

Don't let this cover fool you. This book is awesome!
Calling all Hex Hall and Firelight Fans! There is a new "Juliet" in town! Jax has run away from her witch coven that is known for there use of dark powers. She ends up in the mountains of North Carolina. Here she meets her "Romeo," the compelling Keller Dawes who happens to come from a family of Hunters. This is the next up&coming Star-crossed Lovers Trilogy!
Recommend: If you love the whole "Romeo & Juliet" story placed in the present time with paranormal thrown in the mix then check this book out. As stated earlier, if you like Hex Hall and Firelight then this book is a great addition to your to-be-read list.
Jaxina Pherson or "Jax" is running for her life. She comes from a long line of witches who use their powers to kill. Jax does not want to be part of this family legacy and breaks free. She is drawn to a small community amongst the mountains of North Carolina. She has some money, a car and an RV to her name and must locate a subsitute for her mother to enroll her in high school. You heard right, Jax wants a normal teenage life and will hold on to it with both hands.
Upon arrival to this small town she is almost run over by a truck while walking by the woods near her RV campground. She is able to avoid the Truck due to her super speed but ends up in bigger trouble. The driver is not only a teenage boy but a hunter due to the bloodstone he pulls out of his pocket.
Jax did not let that little incident deture her from her dream of a normal life. She finds a woman to use mind control with and impersonate her mother to enroll her. Keller Dawes her mystery car man and hunky hunter ends up in the school office and sparks start to fly. She seems to be drawn to him against her better judgment.
Now that she has found someone who makes her temperature rise is all the right ways can she really stay with the danger he brings? Will she stay and fight for a normal life and possibly love or will she flee for safety?
Can we change what Fate has handed us?
Side Note
* Keller Dawes tall, dark hair and handsome.
"I wanted to kiss you the moment I saw you." "Me, Too," I whisper, only sharing part of what I feel.
*Jax Pherson drop-dead gorgeous blonde.
Favorite Quotes
"Who would have thought when I fled my family's compound in Miami that my biggest obstacles would be disguising myself and getting enrolled in school? Fleeing a coven of deadly witches, buying a used car and purchasing an RV? Mo problem. Going brunette and getting your average high school education? Monumental tasks."
"Fate needs a good, solid bitch slap."
"redneck-Rambo"
"And would you happen to have classes in living without magic and how to relate to boys who aren't witches?"
"Toni, being a Buffy fan, would appreciate the irony if she knew the situation. All that tortured, star-crossed longing between natural-born enemies."
Overall this is an excellent book for young adults and adults alike.

High points: *Bree can switch everything around and you will still like it. *Daniel remains a wonderful Boyfriend through to the end, but that doesn't mean you don't want to smack him every once and a while. *Most surprised with Brace. She really let the ball drop and put blinders on. *Finally we meet Gabriel! I was confused about him for most of the book.
Little issues: *the ride was crazier then expected. I almost put the book down. *Lying happened with about every character and it just got old. Lead to way too many heartbreaks. *Ending was a huge surprise, hope it will be righted in the next book.
Quotes: "If you let anger into your heart, it will push out your ability to love."
"I know there's still good in you, Jude," I whispered. "You were always such a saint...and now you're lost. But you're still my brother." (less)

Shifter's and magic users and I am sure Vampires just might make an appearance farther in the series. I loved Jackson. Who doesn't love a private investigator that can take on most people because he is a bad*ss with magic abilities. Let's not forget his partner in crime, Alec. If he has a story I am sure it will be a hot one.

I enjoyed the change of pace with werewolves vs. wizards instead of vampires. It is always nice to change it up. I thought this story flowed nicely. I enjoy that Dylan, a submissive, was able to overcome those tendencies to help a friend escape. I loved that Abby was a strong Alpha Female who still needed a strong Alpha male to take care of her. So we get to watch her kick-butt with Keith beside her. Keith can join the ranks of Hot-R-Us Alpha Males. I rank him up there with the BDB and Midnight Breed Boys. Who wouldn't fall in love with Gavin and Sammie! This Alpha pair are perfect!
If you enjoy a good Paranormal Romance with Werewolves and some Magic tossed in then try this!

It was a little better than okay for me. It gained half a point just from the last half of the book alone. The first half was really rough. I loved the ideas overall, but the execution was not the best I have read nor the worst.
Okay to start off my review we shall have a demonstration. Please watch the clip below.
Okay now you give it a try. You know what I mean, stand up and whip that hair back and forth. Come on just a few minutes of this. You know you want to. Okay... Times up. Are you feeling a little dizzy maybe some neck strain? Well that was the feeling I was getting overall with this book. Mental Whiplash from trying to follow to many stories from two different points of view. It is really hard to pull that off effectively. I understood what the author was going for but I felt she lost the affect by skipping the details. I would start to get interested and Bam! She completes the thought with one sentence inside of sharing the entire scene.
Now on to the Baseball LoveFest. Abel goes up to bat and ohhh he strikes out with(view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)]. Not once but several times. Next up to bat is Pru herself. Oops she strikes out with (view spoiler)[Oakley (hide spoiler)]. Not good people. No one is even getting to first base. Now we have Abel again and he yet again strikes out with (view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)]. But Abel's sister Allie manages to hit a home run with (view spoiler)[Arien (hide spoiler)]. Let's make that several home runs or so she says. The man himself is trying to get to first with (view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)] and almost makes it. We got some kisses people! Oakley takes a turn batting a bam! He hits it and rounds on first base running with(view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)]. But wait the Alpha(view spoiler)[,her father, (hide spoiler)] has got them out. Abel bats and finds a keeper in(view spoiler)[ Chrissy (hide spoiler)]. She is here to stay people. Oakley and(view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)] make at least one home run at least I am pretty sure they do. I was a little confused with the whole scene. Arien takes (view spoiler)[Pru (hide spoiler)] to first base a couple of time and Bam! End of story!
Sigh, now that I got that out of my system. Let's take a look at the Highlights of the book.
* Prudence is a respected member of her Pack and also the Alpha's Daughter. She is also in the position to help Abe with his wolf.
* Abel grew on me throughout the book. I was not a fan of his at the beginning of the book. It took till when he met(view spoiler)[ Chrissy (hide spoiler)] for me to like him. Maybe it was because he kept hoping it would work out with(view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)] even though he knew her feelings on (view spoiler)[Oakley (hide spoiler)].
* I enjoyed the Werewolf vs.(view spoiler)[ Vampire (hide spoiler)] twist. I really liked that Arien starts to visit(view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)] in her dreams. It felt kinda like Vampire Academy with Rose and Adrian. By the end of The Legacy of Kilkenny I wanted her to go with Arien. He at least seemed genuine with her. Let's face it(view spoiler)[ Oakley (hide spoiler)] is hiding something and I think I might know what it is. The twist my mind is taking.....
Points of Frustration:
*My biggest complaint was that I felt this was more of an outline then a book. She would start talking about how Pru and Abel were hanging out playing around and then all of the sudden they were driving home. We need some bonding here with the Characters.
*The second biggest complaint was switching points of view every other chapter. It just got too crazy, hence the whiplash.
* I mention earlier that I thought Abel was a weak character for me. He is suppose to be (view spoiler)[The Great Wolf (hide spoiler)] and the man/boy can't stand up for himself. tsk tsk.
* I thought I liked Oakley till the end. Now I think he is hiding a big secret and he seems to have pulled away from(view spoiler)[ Pru (hide spoiler)] a little. I was really hoping for this one to work out. But I guess I will have to throw my vote in with (view spoiler)[Arien (hide spoiler)]. I know the (view spoiler)[Vamp and Were (hide spoiler)] tension would be crazy.
Overall
This book wasn't horrible to read. The concept was really intriguing. I might read the next book in the series to see what happens with Pru, but I could careless about Abel. Oakley is just pissing me off.
I do have to thank Devyn Dawson and Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics group for giving me a copy in exchange for an honest review. I know it is not easy to write a book and so I give her props for being able to publish a piece of literature.

I really, really liked it. I just wanted more from each story. Yes, you heard right. When I started reading this I did not realize that it was made up of 5 Short Stories. They are all linked through a group called Safe Haven and The Society.
Recommend: I would recommend this book to those who enjoy Paranormal Romance such as Black Dagger Brotherhood and Midnight Breed Series. It had the same feel to it, but a different take on Vampires and Were's.
Instead of me breaking it down with likes and dislikes, I will just break down the stories a little for you. I really enjoyed all of them and they got better as they went on.
Story Number 1 : Brandon and Stacy (Bring out the fan so you don't over heat!)
* Brandon is one of the first Vampires. This reminded me of Wrath(BDB) and Lucan (midnight breed series). He falls for Stacy. * Stacy gets taken away and almost changed into a creature that can only come out at night. Brandon saves her with his blood. But she is (view spoiler)[tainted (hide spoiler)] at that point. She ends up becoming a (view spoiler)[tiger shifter (hide spoiler)]. Don't worry she saves his butt too in the end!
Story Number 2 : Jazz and Cherish (Think Cat and Bones)
* Jazz is (view spoiler)[God's Warrior (hide spoiler)]. He practically speaks to Him daily. * Cherish has her own secret to keep from Jazz. She ends up using this secret to protect and save Jazz several times. What can I say, the man fell in love with her after that!
Story Number 3 : Gabe and Taylor (Zsadist and Bella)
Story Number 4 : Dominic and Mika (Edward and Bella)
* Dominic was my favorite character in the stories. There was something about his background and how he acts that I couldn't help but fall in love with. I was really happy when I saw he had a story. * All you Edward and Bella lovers this story is right up your alley. However, Mika can(view spoiler)[ block or allow Dominic to hear her thoughts unlike Bella (hide spoiler)].
* This was my favorite Story out of the 5. You could not help but feel for both of these characters. I really don't want to say much because it will be better if you read it.
Favorite Quotes:
"Brandon eyed her closely, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm damnably durable, and I find I'm also incurably in love with you."
"How did you manage to get them to close down the club for this private party?" Caitlin asked, curious. "Well, I do make them a lot of money. So I asked and they laughed, so I mind zapped them." Caitlin looked horrified. "You did not!" "I did,..."
"Cherish defiled a monk."
"What are you doing?" Annabelle looked at her mother in exasperation. "I'm trying to get this stupid cake to look like it's a gift, instead of the insult against nature that it presently resembles."
"Dimitri scrubbed a hand over his face. Lord, he had forgotten what it was like arguing with a woman. They could back you into a corner from any direction, and you never knew which argument they were going to use, you only knew that you were going to lose."
I wished that all these stories had there own book dedicated to them. I wanted about 200 more pages per story.
Thanks you Charity Parkerson for giving me a copy so that I could enjoy and review your work. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.(less)

I enjoyed this book. It kinda reminded me of the a mix of Caitlin Kittredge series 'Nocturne City and Black London' . This has a little of everything in it. Vampires, Werewolves, and Witches. I believe that Fae come into play later in the series.
Persephone Alcmedi is a kick-butt main female character. She is a witch but also a friend to the local werewolves. She kennels them on the full moon.
Main problem is that Seph is hired to take out the man who killed her good friend. Things are not what they seem and she gets more then she wants out of the deal
Johnny, alpha male werewolf, sets off all kinds of her internal alarms. He ends up helping Seph solve more then one problem. You can't help but love Johnny. I can't wait to see where things go between them.
*Good enough to continue the series. *Wish there was a little more... I guess I just felt like it was kinda of watered down. Hence not getting 4 stars.
